I've played Devour these past few days, and it seemed to be working normally ? People cleansed it a lot, and its effects didn't remain after like I've seen people talk about.
I also don't think it's possible to report someone for a bug in a perk they use. They're not responsible for it, especially if the glitch seems to be inconsistent.
-
I can't say I had my best or most fun games since the patch, for there has been a spike in camping and tunneling in my mmr that makes the game not very enriching.
But the other games, the ones where everyone actually tries to play, have had a lot of nice postgame chats. If not compliments, then some constructive criticism and advices, which made it more motivating to get better.

I think there's some of that too, you're right 🤗
I play as much killer on survivor, but when I start Discord, and join my team, I actually hear more "X or Y tunneled us/camp." than before, and I also see it directly in game... and somewhere ... yes, I can completely understand that it can bore a survivor ... so he leaves on the killer side to take his mind off it, yes ... 🙄
I just hope that these killers who camp / tunnel ... are NOT survivors who have passed to the other side because they have suffered too much in the past 🤣
I hope so as well, that would be the ultimate betrayal haha !

"There would be virtually no survivors left, everyone would want to play killer."
When you see that after the last update, the waiting time as a killer has drastically increased ... proof that a lot of players actually want the "easy" way ... if on top of that we give one more reason to these people to go and play as killers ... my God ... 🤣
I don't think it means people want the "easy way", since playing killer is not necessarily easy, especially as you get up there in mmr.
I think some survivors stopped playing because of the toll the increase in losses took on their morale, especially since some mmrs were hit harder than others. There is also an increase in tunneling and camping, which gets old fast. In these conditions, it's fair to say a lot of survivors could not have as much fun as before or farm as viably as they used to.
In turn, killer is not necessarily easy, but it's easier for beginners, and even a fat loss as killer awards more points than an average survivor game lost. So they don't want easy wins, they want games that are fun for them and that rewards them with enough points to keep unlocking perks and make fun builds.
-
Killers already gain more bloodpoints on average than a survivor, so I think they're already "compensated", if it makes sense. Plus, it is not like killer needs to have the skill of 4 person combined, their role is already made powerful to compensate for the 4 v 1.
Also, there are already plenty of former survivor players who stopped playing that role as it feels unrewarding and it's easier to gain bloodpoints as killer, so if the killer bloodpoints were doubled or more ? There would be virtually no survivors left, everyone would want to play killer.
-
Hurts.

I'm not into characters having voices, I think it gets old quickly, but I can see how it could fit DbD !
I'm all for adding them to the came, if they also had an option to mute them :)

You don't have to always censor. The rules are you only need to censor name if you are "naming and shaming" just posting the results of a match or it it's a positive post not censoring names is fine. Of course, it's ultimately up for a mod to decide if it crosses the line.
Oh, okay ! Sorry then ^^'

Sweaty pick : Hag
Fun pick : Legion
-
I have about 20 left on Legion, 26 left on Hag. I'm using them currently.
-
If I like their lore or their power, I'll buy them !
-
Some of the game with a god looper and someone who runs into walls can be an unbalanced swf. One of my friends got me into DbD, he's really good at chases, got several hundred hours of playing mostly survivor... and I'm me. Newbie who accidentally sandbags and runs into walls.
We don't have fun in solo q so we play together, but our level of skill varies a LOT. So that kind of thing can explain the weird teams you're getting. I have no idea how that affects mmr.
-
I'm pretty sure you should erase the names from the screenshot, but otherwise, yeah. Survivor got really freaking hard.

something I learned is some clickies aren't there to piss you off, but are just trying to draw aggro from their team because they're confident they can keep you busy or aren't confident their team can.
Yeah, that's why I generally ignore them, I know I'm subpar at chases so I go for the ones who try to avoid me the most.

What was your build?
For the "Hex" rift, I've used Hag with Undying, Devour Hope, Haunted Ground and Pentimento.
Pentimento was there as a decoy.
It worked beautifully.
My build is way less fancy haha ! I don't have a lot of perks unlocked yet, so it's a bit rudimentary. I'll keep in mind your Hex build though ! :)
I run Devour Hope, Third Seal, Overcharge (rip Ruin), and the 4rth perk is generally either Spies from the Shadows or Nurse's Calling.

My flex is having really good headphones and getting blinded. 'You think my being blinded makes you have power over me? Tracking by sight only happens right before the swing.'
Also 'Oh I screwed up, wait they screwed up, wait no I screwed up, they screwed up again! YES!'
Then it's like 'Ha! I mindgamed your mindgame against my mindgame! Neither of us have any clue what we're doing but you don't have to know that.'
I raise you one for the "neither of us have any clue what we were doing but you don't have to know that" : I frequently get stuck on obstacles when trying to loop close to the walls, and it has often ended with the survivor running straight into me as they thought I kept up while I was busy trying to detangle my feet from the texture of the rock/tree/hook.
I'm always bamboozled but hey, it's free survivor to down !

Okay next challenge: Five Stacks of Pentimento, enjoy the rage you are gonna feel trying to do that
I feel like that might give me cancer more than the survivors haha. Do people even do enough totems for it to work ? I guess paired with Plaything maybe.

i usually use that one on trapper
I use it on Hag because I like her mori, and on Legion because it's easy to hide Devour Hope by using Frenzy to keep people injured until you get 5 stacks ! I guess it works the same way with Trapper :)
-
I can say "What the hell" but I'll never know what this person wanted to tell me haha.
-
I'm pretty sure the shards are wasted if you prestige the character after.

Finally got into a match , and it was a super fair one! Not being sarcastic lol they were around my Prestige and had good perks just were too attached at the hip .
Prestige doesn't mean much, but I'm glad you did some good matches !
I only played Hag this afternoon, and I mostly got 3-4Ks, except for one game against 2 flashlights (joy.) on Red Forest (literally the largest map of the game), where I got completely destroyed. One of the players was clicky-clicky in game, which felt a bit insulting since I really wasn't doing well, but he was vey nice in postgame chat, offered to give me advices as he's a more experienced killer. Overall a nicer experience than I would have expected, and I look forward to hearing from him.
Also, I FINALLY managed to get 5 stacks of Devour Hope without it being cleansed mid game ! I got 3 kills with it (the fourth being already dead), which is a new record for me (I'd only managed one once before).
-
I don't like seeing it either.
First because I don't like the icons, but also because it's no one's business how much I prestiged my character.
I know prestige =/= skill, heck, rank =/= skill ! But I feel like it's at least a token of time spent in the game so some people are still going to use it to dodge.
-
As killer, if a survivor does the "come here" emote, the game is paused for me. I must see what they wanted me to see !
Does it waste my time ? Yes. Does it make the game fun ? Also yes. I've had survivors show me easter eggs or just being silly with their friends, and it made me happy.
Not a flex by any stretch of the word, but apparently unconventional: I'll often try to have something nice to say about whoever I'm facing in the endgame chat. Killer had an amazing map pressure ? I'll tell them. Survivors did some sick sabo plays? That deserves a compliment. Killer got stomped ? Well, they did well in that one chase, their mindgame was 10/10 and I wish I saw it coming. They're definitely on the right track to getting better.
Whether I "win" or not, I think it's nice to acknowledge that everyone did the best they could. People always seem to be caught off guard, so I guess it's not that common. Some killers especially always expect to be called filthy tunnelers, so it's always nice chatting with them about what went well or less well in the game.
-
Or, alternatively, it is killer sided on some levels of skill (low mmr) and swf-sided on others (high mmr), with a somewhat balanced middle.

But...how would that give profit for blast mine if the gen was blocked?
I think the combo was to blast mine it, let the killer kick it, and while killer is blinded, block it.
It's a bit of a cheeky play, but it works well.
-
It sounds like the fusion between the Evil Dead game killer role, and Hag, haha.
Not sure how it would work, but food for thought.
-
Doctor.
I just think he's neat. The games are pretty much always hard, but he has a good variety of add ons that make each game interesting.
-
Survivor map offerings do not take priority over killer map offerings, to my knowledge.
As for why do survivors get a say in the map, well, they have a right to want to play with a specific build on a specific map as well, just like killer players.
Also, if map offerings make sure I don't end up in Midwich for the third time in a row, you bet I'm using one.
-
If you want to avoid flashlights permanently as well, you can always prestige Hillbilly to get his perk Lightborn. Not only will the flashlights have no effect on you, you will also see the aura of the person who tried to blind you for a few seconds.
It is best combined with the "looking up to avoid flashlight" thing to make the survivor believe you don't have Lightborn, which will make them try rescues again later and take risks that they would have otherwise avoided.
It works like a charm.
-
They did nerf A LOT of gen slowdown perks, it's just that stacking them makes the game from painfully bording to borderline impossible for survivors.
Depending on your mmr, it's not even like gen slowdown is necessary on Legion (or any killer, really).
The joys of low mmr killer is that you can put practically any build and still get a win. I've been running Discordance, Mad Grit, Devour Hope and Nurse's Calling on Legion all afternoon yesterday and got 3Ks and 4Ks.
-
Title had me in the first half, not gonna lie haha.
But yeah, this would deserve a fix.
-
I've played on it pretty often these past few weeks, but considering I cannot seem to have good games on this map (whether survivor or killer), I'd love to trade my Garden of Joy luck with yours xD
-
Played only killer this afternoon, EU, 4pm to 7pm, my queue times were ~1min, which I could live with !
Only time it felt really long was when someone disconnected during the loading, which made the loading something like 2min30, chained with another minute to find another lobby.
-
I believe it's with the next chapter, so probably in September.
Until then, there's a couple more days of 1.5x bloodpoints from Hooked On You's release, but otherwise it's gonna be grindy.
-
Counting 3K or more as a win (and counting as a win the couple of games where I stomped and took pity on the remaining 2 survivors and let them go), I got a 10 game win streak on Legion this afternoon.
My mmr was probably a bit lower than my level as I often let people go after a fun game as Bunny Julie, but today I wanted the bloodpoint boost, so I was less merciful. I did run into better players after a few games.

So because it’s annoying to survivors, killers can’t do it? Ok well it’s annoying to me when survivors bring prove and toolboxes, so how about when one person brings prove, nobody in lobby can bring a toolbox. Because it annoys me.
It’s not the killer’s job to play by the survivor’s rule book or in a way that’s not “annoying” to them. And vice versa.
It is quite literally my job as the killer to inconvenience the survivors as much as possible, to buy time to kill them. And again, vice versa.
I was just clarifying what I meant, you don't have to get all agressive about it.
I know all that. Like I said, I was just spitballing. If you're taking it this seriously please vent to someone else.
Have a good day !

Bruv. The first portion and second portion of your comment directly contradict each other.
Not exactly, in my opinion.
Preventing specific combos would be saying "Plaything + Pentimento is not what was intended and it's annoying for survivors, so you can't equip those two particular perks at the same time, sorry".
I'm talking MAYBE (I don't care enough to develop an in-depth analysis of whether it would be viable or not) making a category that would be "slowdown", where there would be for example Ruin, Pop, Thana, etc, and you can equip whichever combo you like, provided the total amount of "slowdown perks" is 2. (Kind of like survivors have exhaustion perks, where if you equip one the other will most likely be useless).
I don't know the particulars of how that would work and which perks would be classified as such. I don't know either if that would really do anything, since I never use them (at low mmr killers don't need any slowdown to have a great game, in my experience).
I'm just spitballing here.
-
I mean, it already deactivates after first death.
So, could pretty much be a normal perk now.
-
Any "[character] main" is censored
"Hope" is sometimes censored, even though 1- it's not offensive and 2- it's a PERK name
Sometimes you'll be trying to say a word and get ###-ed, whereas another player will write it without problem right after
It's completely chaotic
-
Maybe he will be once the AOT even is finished, for now it would be a bit awkward to kill-switch him I guess.
Some argue that it is not game breaking enough, and that we don't see too many Onis anyway, so maybe it will be fixed without needing a kill-switch. Though if that is the case, I hope he will be fixed sooner than later.
I have yet to see the problem acknowledged by the devs, but right now it only creates frustrations among survivors (some go as far as bashing the killer in postgame chat for exploiting a glitch), and it wouldn't do for new Oni players to get used to the glitch and then feel robbed when it is fixed.
-
Plague.
I don't like the vomiting sounds my character makes when sick.
-
Prevent combos ? No. They're what makes the builds smart and variable.
Nerf some general categories (make a "gen slowdown" category and can't put more than 2, for example) ? Maybe.
-
I mean, the game is a good laugh, if you're not taking it too seriously ! I wasn't around for that survey but the fact that they did make the game baffles me in the best ways. Definitely cringey, but also hilarious.
-
Congrats :)
-
Only survivor voice line I'd ever like to hear is a desperate survivor hiding near killer, slowly realising there is no happy ending for them, and exhaling a word that rhymes with luck.
-
I think NOED is fine now ! I've run into some of them in the past weeks, and much like before the update, there are games where the remaining survs can afford to cleanse and rescue, and some where they can't !
I think it's at a good balance because it incentives taking some late game risks, when otherwise a lot of survivors took NOED as an invitation to get the f out regardless if someone was caught and hooked.
-
Sounds more fair than the current version, and I'm all for disincentiving tunneling.
Only thing I'm a bit less certain about, is that at some point it becomes a permanent minimum of 16% action slowdown, whereas Thana is supposed to be counterable.
So there might be some numbers to tweak, but that's a good start !
-
I feel you. I tend to play with hexes and oh boy are there some comically bad totem placements on certain maps (Garden of Joy has a couple that make me want to cry).
Swamp has a couple of totem spots on the outskirts of the maps, in the very corners behind boats or trees, so that's where I always check first when I play survivor on these maps.

If they really care about their careers, why only fog whisperers? There are many DbD streamers that are not fog whisperers.
This is double standart and i hate it. Why i have penalty when i dc'ed against cheater but fog whisperers won't? This is so unfair.
That's true. I don't know how to feel about it.
