  • On one hand I understand, as it compromises their careers, one the other it does feel a bit unfair.

However, if everyone could DC without penalty, it might make survivors DCing mid game even worse, which I'm not looking forward to either.

  • I think it might be overpowered in those conditions, but it's simultaneously true that right now Dance with me is not very powerful without Lithe or chaining it with Deception.

  • I mostly play survivor, because I only play when a friend is online and we might as well play survivor together then. I can't really say which role I enjoy most, as Killer tends to always be satisfactory games, and Survivor is most often very frustrating, but at the same time I like cooperating with others... The best of both worlds for me is friendly Killer.

As a survivor, I main Kate (biker Kate = <3).

As a killer, I main Legion and Hag.

You can sort of filter out hacker issues actually. If the average match is designed to be 15 to 20 min. Make it to where after 15 min (or 20, you would have to play with that) The DC penalty goes away. So players that at least put in the effort for that long MIGHT have a reason to DC, if the match is SUPER slow and stalematey due to 3 gens and what not or more importantly, if the hacker takes the game hostage, you can wait out 15 min and DC without incurring the strong repeat punishments, so it doesnt count on your repeat offender record at that point. Hackers sometimes keep people hostage for an hour or more, so its better than that I guess....not perfect but...its a little room on both sides of caution.

I wholeheartedly agree. 15 minutes seems to me like a good compromise, when it's either a very close game that can still be won for either party, a hostage situation, or a dragged out game that any of the parties should be allowed to surrender from.

I wouldn't be against a surrender option or a "quickly bleed out" option too when being slugged with only one survivor left, to give them the chance at hatch the killer is denying them.

Simply put - there needs to be a "Surrender" option. It's the only way to stop these games where people are held hostage.

The problem as a killer, is I cant MAKE survivors do gens. . If i could "instantly fix gens"

True. I agree that being able to surrender on some conditions would solve a few of these problems.

Maybe if the game gets longer than 15 minutes (since then it's either a really close game and survivors wouldn't DC, a hostage situation or an excessively dragged out game people should be able to surrender from), if you've been bodyblocked in a corner (if you've been unmoving and closer than 5m of a killer for at least 60 seconds without getting hit?), if you're slugged and only one of your teammates remain (to give them an opportunity to get hatch).

It's true that it's harder as killer to get out of such a situation. Maybe the killer should be able to open to door at any point in the game to put the endgame collapse into motion ?

  • I'm all for disincentiving disconnecting during perfectly normal games, as it is disrespectful for the other players and especially lethal for teammates, but there are circonstances that would make these restrictions really harsh.

What about hacker games ? There seems to be quite a lot of games taken hostages these days.

Or toxic players actively trying to make you DC. (ran into one, would not recommend)

Or successive connection failures (not only talking about internet failures, but a lot of people are experiencing glitches where they are disconnected from games or lobbies despite having a correct connection)

So I think we should tread lightly on the subject of DC penalties, as they could be felt as very unfair depending on the circonstances.

  • The fact that The Spirit does not interact with the spirit world will always make me chuckle.

    • Legion is actually really fun to play
    • Spies from the Shadows is a really nice perk
    • The Game is a cool map
    • Doctor is fun to go against
    • The other side has feelings too
    • Being a friendly killer can be really fun
    • Hex : Third Seal is formidable
  • I don't believe only four feral slashes are enough in that situation (I wish!), but as Shroompy has said if someone is hit twice it can work with only 3 survivors left.

Like, say, only survivors A, B and C are left alive. (RIP D)

If frenzied Legion slashes survivors A, then B, then C, then again A (who has since mended), the next slash (5th) is deadly, regardless of who it lands on.

It's more about the number of slashes in the chain (5th is instadown) than the number of survivors.

    Hope it's clearer !

  • I don't like going against Deathslinger.

  • I for one know I don't watch the killer enough during chases, but that's because when I do, I run into every wall and any object with collision that's in my path :')

Monkey brain can't pay attention to two things at once !

    (Seriously, I'm working on it)

Well but better using a button for it instead.

Thats why im saying it cant be spammed

I'm not sure. I already butter finger between button 1 and 2 for my emotes haha.

Though some other messages that would be useful could be "Don't come, killer camping" (which is already kind of a thing by spamming unhook yourself animation), "take a hit please" or a general ping to area to tell your teammates where you are / where not to go ("Am in [shack] !" or "Go [main building]")

  • I feel like except for "Be careful" all of these are already possible in game by crouching, pointing and emoting to follow...

I think it's a sound idea but I'm confident I'd be easily annoyed by voice lines.

  • I mean, if someone is bad at chases, stealth is all they got.

BHVR kinda tried to get rid of stealth as a strat for survivors because they didn't want the game to feel like a hide and seek, but with all these killer buffs sometimes the best way to buy time for your team is making killer look for you, if chases are going to be short.

I do think that once other survivors have been on hook they should take a down, but stealth is a strategy and sometimes, the only viable one.

  • Favorite to play : Equally Legion (because Stabby Mcstabfast and chains are fun), and Hag (squirrel brain go brrrr teleportation !)

Least favourite to play : The only other one I've played is Trapper, not that fond of it.

  • A game-changer for the worse for new survivor players.

  • Myers.

I expected to play him more, but I'm comfortable and happy playing Legion and Hag, and the next I'd like to learn is Doctor.

I'd refund Clown, since I don't intend to play him ever, but I kinda bought him to get Kate, so.... Not happening.

  • True. The buff was not that outstanding.

I think it's important to say though that if the perk became that infamous, it was because of its effect on exactly 2 out of all of the killers that made them both more common and tedious to face, and that most people who wanted it changed recognize that BHVR's reaction was completely out of proportion and missed the point by a mile.

  • I don't know. I almost never use map offerings because I like it being random, but sometimes when you've been sent to maps you dislike strongly several times in the evening, it's nice to be able to decide where to go, without it being a very strategic plan.

Maybe if there was a seperate game mode for very high mmr where people do this kind of strat, map offerings could be banned, but for casual players I feel like most times it just amounts to avoiding Midwich for a while.

  • It might be because of the items you brought ? Maybe you should ONLY have the perks and nothing else.

  • I wouldn't run from Wraith. I also wouldn't let him become invisible.

  • @FFirebrandd said:

    Yes I have.

Survivor was suspicious of me after I ran straight at them when they were healthy and crouching behind a rock and I had zero aura perks equipped. All of that was indeed true. However I was Legion, in Frenzy, after my first hit. So Killer Instinct was telling me where they were.

Said survivor actually admitted that they didn't know Frenzy did that after I explained.

Also, the number of survivors who think they can hide from frenzy while in a locker astounds me !

Like, if I'm going against Legion and the person I'm working with goes to hide in a locker, I don't even bother to quit working on the gen. They'll be the first found !

  • I'm not that bothered by these...

I don't have object permanence and often lose survivors when they leave my FoV for a moment, so clicking ironically helps me in chase. If it's at the gate and bothers me, I just leave. That's always more time to commit the map to memory or go break a few pallets.

I usually nod back to teabags, and often enough it gets a bit better, either because the survivors realise I'm a person and let up on it, or because it becomes us memeing together rather than them making fun of me. If they're wasting time at the gate like this, again, always more time to explore the map.

Though to be fair it doesn't happen that often in my experience.

Also, as some have said before me, it's a good way to communicate between survivors as well.

  • Never got called a hacker for it, but apparently very few survivors actually know what Mad Grit does.

  • I don't run into those very often, maybe one in 30 or so games.

My friend and I actually kind of like having afk killers, as it often means tracking down the other survivors and memeing together for a while.

I can see how it's a problem for other players though.

  • The fact that this (I assume) initially joke post actually got moved to feedback and submissions is the best thing I've seen this evening, haha.

  • @Nicholas said:

I always thought the tone challenges could be a way to promote new approaches to playing. I was never a fan of the escape ones because it incentivizes people to be selfish. I wish they would do stuff like: cleanse noed after the generators are powered, rescue someone during the collapse, take a protection hit for someone being chased that has been hooked twice, complete the last generator while injured, complete a generator after you've been hooked twice, after completing a generator perform some other activity prior to starting a new one, do not immediately rescue a newly hooked survivor, etc. For the killer, your first four hooks must be on four different survivors, after a successful rescue go after the rescuer, initiate the collapse, etc.

You may not have success in the overall trial, but it could be fun and interesting to try new perks and new approaches to playing in order to complete challenges.

True. And it's not like it would be too specific, there are tome challenges out there like "go from injured to dying while vaulting through a window, twice in one game" or "vomit on two people at once with Plague", so all of the things you listed could actually be legit tome chals.

  • How many years until Michael Myers is public domain, again... ? *frantically checks notes*

  • The "Be within 12 meters of the killer while hooked" cracked me up.

  • I mean, players are allowed to find the game less fun without it meaning they used to bully the killer.

I personally think it's less fun because as much as I used to keep an eye out for totems and chests, now spending any amount of time you're not chased not on gens is pretty lethal for the team, as virtually no one in my mmr knows how to loop.

Low mmr got pretty unbalanced. That survivors there don't find the game as fun doesn't mean they were bully squads.

yeah i noticed too late this isn't the correct section, idk how to use the forum on the phone website.

No worries, I did the same last week haha.

  • You should post about it in the Bug Report section.

I think it's already been reported though, but you could always add your video in the comments of the bug report, as additionnal information.

  • I'm sorry, it works fine for me :(

  • I don't know if there is a perk that helps with Brutality, but maybe using Ghostface might be cool ? One hit = 300 Brutality points, and grabbing a survivor while they're repairing a gen is 600 bloodpoints. So if you manage to sneak up on survivors, you could get a best case scenario of 900 Brutality points from them between each hook stage.

It would drastically lower the chase points though...

I'd advise Legion otherwise, because stabby stab quick, but I'm not sure frenzy hits give points in the same category as normal hits.

  • @BlackRabies said:

One bit i found funny there is a second island in the game that's mentioned multiple times. Called "IP Island" likely where all the licensed characters are at.

Yeah, it's hinted at during a dialogue that at least Ghostface is there, haha.

  • I don't know. I think the game is cringey and funny and it doesn't have to be that deep.

I do think none of it should be considered canon regarding actual DBD lore, as the Killers' personalities were altered to fit fun summer love tropes.

The meta jokes might be a bit heavy-handed, and it's not outside the realm of possibilities that a proportion of the developers found the game cringe themselves and inserted these self-depreciating jokes.

But it's still a good laugh, and isn't that what matters?

  • The idea is sound and the build is interesting, but I think you should consider not using the phrase "bully the killer" in the title as it is bound to stir some vexation here or there.

Will give the build a try though if I get all these perks at some point !

  • The game is stil finding its new rythm. I expect there's going to be some back and forth, and maybe some adjustments, before things eventually settle down.

  • Eyrie is harsher on Hag and Trapper than on other killers, but it's still very bright and generally not very killer-friendly.

Still, it's not that bad. Unless you're sent to it several games in a row, it remains just one meh game among other better ones.

  • Yeah. Its only use right now is either with Botany (but it still painfully slow) or with Bite the Bullet.

  • If something has to be done about Legion slowdown, please let it not be a Legion nerf. All-Slowdown is annoying on a lot of killers, and plenty of people play Legion with little to no slowdown.

  • When in the game, you'll have an option in the menu "link account" that leads you to the correct bhvr page, from which you can get the code.

So yes, you need to load into the game at least once, I think.

  • I have some ! I don't often screenshot unless it's made me giggle, but I often have overall nice postgame chats.

    Here are a few :

    We are Legion.PNG

Friendly Legion game, messed around with a Jane and a Jeff playing hide and seek in lockers and having a parkour race on Temple of Purgation. They stayed through the collapse to be a part of the Legion ! (since then I often joke that The Legion is actually 6 people)

    Sneaky Boy.PNG

My first stealthy game as Jake during the anniversary

    Grandpa Bill.PNG

That game where my friend and I were sharing a lobby with another Swf : a Bill "Regular Bill" and a P3 Bill "Grandpa Bill".

  • Was being chased by a Wraith. I could see the shack not far from me, and thought "Hey, I could try and loop him at shack!".

There were two people healing there.

... I did not know that.

  • I alost never use offerings, especially luck-related offerings and map offerings.

I'd gladly see them gone from my blodwebs.

I'd even let go of maps and keys as well ! Make some space.

Here's an amusing stalky-boi dance video that may amuse some of you.

    No relevance to anything.

Well thanks for the giggle at least ! X)

  • Letting the dust settle over here as well.

Low mmr survivor feels discouraging since the update, and the matchmaking has been hectic as well (I have 100h on the game, maybe 70 as survivor, but I'm being put against 3k hours killers ? No thankie!).

I've been catching up on my steam sales hoard, and I imagine I'll be spending some time on Hooked on You in the next few weeks. For.... reasons...

I'll still play occasionally when my friend is online, but other than that I don't expect to play that often until matchmaking incentives come back. I'll probably be working by then, which is a shame because I won't have as much time to put into the game, but as the French say, life do be like that sometimes.

  • I've had worse.

The other day I had a teammate who's username was Leet Speak of a famous german dictator's name.

Reported it in postgame, hope something gets done about it.

The stories I hear from nemesis mains is hilarious though, like he'll down someone, then on the opposite side of the map, u randomly get another down, lol

Those are the good stories. There are also the bad, equally hilarious stories, of zombies bodyblocking Nemesis and allowing survivors to escape.

  • I'm unironically gonna miss this map a bit.

Did I have a lot of good games on it ? No.

Was it a lot of fun for custom games with friends ? Yeah !
