The one before his nerf?
Do you mean the one where he could literally stab as many times as possible before his power ended with no penalty, which would allow him to deep wound somebody, and then chase them facing the opposite way to let the bleedout bar run all the way down?
No, nobody wants that back.

"You don't have to purchase her".
Purchase options:
9000 shards
$5
Free options:
None
Currency is currency. Though it can be earned, you are still spending it.
If you don't have to pay real life money for the character, it's flippin' free. How much more free does it need to be?
It's like people don't know what a paywall is anymore.
Also, to any of the people saying "paywall isn't the point of the post" or whatever, it's kind of hard to say that when the title of the post is literally "LOCKING DWIGHT'S LAST MEMORIES BEHIND A PAYWALL... NICE..." If it was any different of a title/complaint I wouldn't be saying this.

The matchmaking is busted and after about 3 games in a row as a rank 12 killer getting paired with red ranks I decided that playing killer isnt worth it. I'm not learning anything by losing within the first 5 minutes of the game. I'm not improving. If anything this busted system is making me dislike the game. Less and less people want to play killer because they get stomped over and over meaning survivors cant find lobbies for their ranks so they get cranked with whoever is open. This is a self perpetuating problem. Honestly this is just to vent, but I don't see why anyone would play killer unless you are already top tier. It's a bad experience that ruins my enjoyment of the game as a whole. So I'll just stick to surv and stomp the baby killers until the game dies out
I play it because I don't only focus on the shiny number next to my screen name.
Hope you have fun "stomping baby killers" though. If that's your preferred method of playing, then it explains a lot why the killer role isn't suited for you.
-
I like your name.
Ya, there's been times where I'll be like in a situation where I'm at an exit gate with a daily ritual to escape with my survivor I'm playing, while my two team mates are being hooked all the way across the map and the killer is a Billy with NoED. Then I leave, and get one of my team mates telling me "######### u huff" as if I could/should have done anything.
Edit: I also forgot to mention it was only us 3 left in the game. Player #4 was out already.

Ya, that's kind of the emotion you're likely going to feel when viewing a box full of random peoples' thoughts from all over the internet.

The ######### is this, we're not here for your damn PolSci TED talk. Jeez.
I think this comment put it pretty well ^
Anyway, to the OP: I thought you kinda had a bit of a point with MoM, but then practically all the points after that were about cosmetics. Like, aren't the cosmetics the things people shouldn't be caring about, since they don't affect gameplay? Even if you care about the cosmetic sort of stuff, didn't we essentially get almost the exact same Trapper skin they got on Switch, just slightly recolored? These just aren't the kinds of things I would be thinking about if I wanted to make a forum post complaining about things BHVR does and why I can't trust them or whatever...
-
A couple points:
-This is like a 5 month old post Necro
-The whole "just play better" comment is completely pointless and stupid to make here, as that's not the point of this topic. The topic is "why do they do it," not "I can't beat this pls nerf."
Feel how you want about going against Pig, but whether or not it's possible to beat, it's still annoying to go against. It's similar to a facecamping Leatherface in that regard. Does anybody think it's impossible to escape against Leatherface? No, but it's still stupid when a killer uses such a tactic because it's only really something that benefits lazy killers who settle for the low hanging fruits and just want easy sleezy kills.
It's honestly sad to see people try to turn the topic into "just play better."

The whole post is about the fact that survivors are now unable to earn 900 bloodpoints. So this post IS about taking points away from survivors.
You say it's not about that...and yet I have 1000 less bloodpoints in many of my games because of their change. I post that they could end the game and give everyone hooked a 900 point bonus to compensate and still speed up the game. win/win I thought. BUT you argue that survivors shouldn't get something for nothing and it slows down my killer game.
DIDN'T SPEED UP THE GAME FOR SURVIVORS: If you were a hooked survivor and you wanted to leave the game all you had to do was stop struggling and you were moving on to the next game.
It really only affected killers having to wait OR survivors who were getting some last BP for a little extra keyboard spamming.
So this is a WIN for killers and a 900 point loss for survivors. Let's call it what it is.
The only situation you can't struggle is when the game is already over and everybody has 0 chance of escaping. Everything you have to say after that point is invalid.

Huff, I get it. You don't care about survivors getting 1000 less bloodpoints. If I heard that they made a change that took 1,000 bp from killers, I would not like that. Players should be incentivized to keep playing.
There are 4 times more survivors needed to play a game. The health of the game requires that there is a player base. BEHVR should not be doing things that reduce survivors willingness to play the game...and taking away blood points is one of them. Survivors are the life blood of the game and all players should be concerned when one side has less incentive to play the game.
No. It's not about taking 1k BP from survivors. My point is they shouldn't just get the BP for free for not doing anything. Stop trying to say things like "If I heard that they made a change that took 1000 bp from killers," because that has nothing to do with it. The point is that it wastes time when players could be getting into the next game.
Quit it with the strawman.
-
I don't know. I'm not entirely sure about Silent Hill myself (not knowledgeable) but I don't know what the point would be of making a character skin "legendary" if they're in a full body suit. IDK if that makes sense. Just to me, it kinda defeats the purpose of the skin being legendary if it doesn't seem like a completely new character, and Legion in a Robbie Rabbit suit would just kind of remind me of... Legion in a rabbit suit.

It's just frustrating that this game attracts all the toxic people in the world. I'd actually like to try and enjoy a game without at least 1 survivor feeling the need to be toxic and rude.
I know, I completely understand. Usually when I say stuff like what I said above it's not to dismiss peoples' frustrations, but from my experiences people will just do completely screwed up things (both in games and IRL) and often times there's really just not a lot you can do about it. The best thing to do for your emotions in those situations (in my opinion) is to just try to keep in mind that it's not the end of the world and that some people are just kinda not worth your time. It's a sad truth but I don't say it to be hurtful.

Another trap spot that cannot be disarmed is on haddiesfield. The houses that have roofs you need to vault windows to get to. If you vault the window and plant a trap. They can't get to it to disarm it. If they use that window they will get trapped.
Thanks, I hadn't even thought of that one. It's nice having a post once in a while like this where it's just a wholesome exchange of ideas/tips, instead of the constant "us vs them" arguments on here. :D
-
You seem keen on just insulting people. "How sad do you have to be," "incredibly dense, and incredibly pathetic," "before you start acting like a jackass," etc.
IDK what you're complaining about specifically, but I'm guessing it's the fact that you're losing or the fact that people are acting stupid. Maybe the problem is just kinda on your side, getting offended? I mean, that sounds like the whole point of the post: you're offended that people play that way on the PTB. All I can really say to that is just roll with it, and accept it for what it is. You'll run into people like that in the live servers, so it's not different on the PTB. There's no use dwelling on it when it's something you can't change, and it's just something that people like to do in games: be annoying.

Sorry, I answered a lot of comments at the same time, they might have mixed up in my head.
Still, would be a terrible strategy that would waste a lot of time that trapper doesn't have, and very inneffective. Annoying? Maybe. But easily dodged. Like hag putting 10 traps near the hook.
It's ok I understand. I see a lot of people using the terms interchangeably. :P
I know it would be terrible in terms of "winning" for the Trapper, but it's already bad enough going against a Hag where you can at least crouch over her traps even though it makes you slow as heck. Against Trapper, you'd have absolutely no choice (unless you were injured and had Dead Hard) other than to just disarm or eat the trap, and even if you used DH you'd be stuck in there and have to disarm one anyway. But yea again not that it'd be OP or anything, I would just hate it just like going against a facecamping Leatherface.
-
I wouldn't call myself a main myself, but I've picked up a few tricks here and there. The simplest and probably one of the easiest pieces of advice you can follow is to just not put your traps in predictable spots. It's okay if you have a trap on hand that you need to get rid to just get it down and activated, in order to pick up a different trap. Other than that, I don't think it should be the main priority to just always put traps under pallets and stuff, because the survivors will pick up on those real quick. Some clever spots are for example: 1. Using patches of grass on the edges of things that survivors loop (they'll usually expect a loop to be safe if they don't see a trap under the pallet or the windows) and 2. There's this one trick I learned from Otz. The tractor that you'll see on Coldwind maps has a spot on it (the spot on the right the survivors always vault the window at, that has the ramp going downward) where you can vault the window as Trapper, turn around, and place a trap right on top of that hay bale. There's no way for the survivors to disarm the trap other than stepping into the trap. You'll just find little clever spots like that here and there that are really hard to avoid even to a decent player.
Good luck though. I like Trapper a lot and I think even though he's relatively simple, he has quite a bit you can learn with him and he feels rewarding. Hopefully you'll find him fun too.

He doesn't need to be top tier, but above average would be nice...you know?
https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/1306141#Comment_1306141
As a trapper main, that happens maybe once in like, 30 games. It's just not reliable. Even if people are stepping on traps left and right they could easily just escape them before you captalize on it.
What happens more often is that you start hearing boom, boom, boom. And you now need to pick your traps and set up again, because they found them.
TL;DR: theory =/= practice
https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/1306275#Comment_1306275
I don't see how that applies... people step on freddies snares right? It works basically the same. It's not hard to accomplish.
And muscle memory is just relearned. Not a big deal.
https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/1306278#Comment_1306278
That is the case. Power creep exists in every game that gets frequent updates.
Think of how simple the earlier powers are compared to the newer ones.
Traps set up traps, wraith goes almost invisible, billy charges a chainsaw and sprints, nurse teleports forward, huntress throw hatches... etc
Compared to let's say plague. You puke on people to make them sick, or on objects that will make people sick when interacted with, when someone is fully sick they are broken. To heal they must use fountains, the fountains get corrupted and interacting with a corrupted fountain gives you a puke that doesn't make people sick but hurt them for 60 seconds.
New stuff, gets more to work with.
The thing with billy(and huntress) is that their simple power happened to be incredibly effective for the meta of the game. Billy chainsaw is supposed to be used to down people, but them someone went "hey, I can easily patrol gens with this" and that was it.
https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/1307348#Comment_1307348
As a trapper main, setting up traps around the hook like that, would just be a madsive waste of time and easily avoided by someone paying attention when going to the hook. Which most do when facing trapper.
It's like expecting people to run to the hook as hag... they won't if they know who they are facing.
And someone using kindred would absolutely destroy it. And that is a pretty common perk nowadays.
Trapper still has the most counterable power in the game. There's no way he would suddenly become op if he started with all of his traps.
OP wasn't what was being argued.
-
I don't care how weak Trapper is right now, I don't think it will ever be a good idea for him to start with all of his traps with no other changes. I would only be okay with something like that if he had like maybe 4 traps by default that he could place around an area, and had to bring bag addons to increase that amount. Do you know how annoying it would be to have a Trapper start with like 7+ traps, and then maybe use one of them during a chase and then by the time he gets his first down, he starts putting like 6 traps around the hook? I would not want to deal with something like that. That would be way more annoying than I think Pyramid Head ever will be.
Not saying Trapper doesn't need a buff, but perhaps just increase his base traps by maybe just 1 or even a couple to start out with. I think it's not exactly the worst thing that he has to pick up traps in general even if I agree having to pick up all of them is kind of stupid. I just think the current amount of traps he has just all being available in his hand at the start of the game would make for some of the most annoying unhooking attempts possible. Even worse than going against Hag.

Not if the killer isn't doing the same.
Killer: "Oh I'm just here figuring out my new power, what are you doing"
Survivor: "Gen rushing you"
It ain't the same thing. maybe in a couple days, but not the first day. None of this is like live build on the first day unless you are god and figure out the new power and tricks as soon as you select the killer.
Well people can generally do what they want. Either way it should be relatively easy to "figure out" a power through reading the description and watching videos, and even if you want to test it yourself it shouldn't be a grueling process that takes a really long game to figure out.
-
As somebody else said, people are giving you counters and you're refusing to listen.
Even if you don't want to use a perk to counter certain killers, there's still counterplay to most of the killers you mentioned.
Against Doctor, it's all about trying to read where he's going to go and which way he's going to shock, and either looping around that or running away from the loop. Some loops he can't even really play with his shock and it's more a waste of time than anything.
Deathslinger, you have to fake him out when you think he's going to shoot. A lot of people I see play against him will either just run predictable toward some sort of pallet or window, and then just get shot, or just try to juke way too much and give him a bunch of distance for a free melee. You just have to read each Deathslinger and try to understand their playstyle and when they like to shoot. Often times, all it takes to get him to miss a few shots is to run to a window or pallet and right when you'd be about to vault/run through it, just run to either side and more than likely he'll shoot directly down the pallet or window. It's not like there's no counterplay to him. It's just like the Doctor, you have to mind game him better than he mindgames you.
Oni... Do I really even have to explain? He's literally a pure M1 killer with nothing else until people start giving him blood. He literally cannot activate his power if he can't injure somebody.
I'm not saying every killer is easy to play against, but I just really have a problem with the way you describe these killers as having "no counterplay" when that's simply false.

I’m trying to learn each killer a little bit more even though I’m usually a Claudette main but recently started to play as a doctor main and before that was wraith.
Well glad to hear you're joining the killers of the community. It really is a fun role (more so than survivor right now in my opinion) and the killers all feel nice and unique, even if people like to compare them to each other (like how people say things like "Clown is just a worse Freddy.")
Anyway, good luck trying that stuff out. Don't be afraid to look stupid sometimes in your games, that's what learning killers is all about: testing limits. You'll find your favorite killers/playstyles/techniques.
-
I'm not exactly saying that's how I would personally be playing if I was on the PTB (I would be goofing off more and looking around the map to enjoy the scenery TBH). However, I would argue that it might actually be beneficial for people to "gen rush." If people play the game realistically like they would in the live servers, it gives a more accurate game for you to practice the killer on.

There is no us vs them... I am us and them, I play survivor (with DS) in the morning and killer at night because of queue times...
I just find it funny that people insists his cage is some OP ability on day one when it has almost as many downsides as advantage
I know what you mean. People were crapping their pants in the other thread about DS not working with the cages. I just thought it was hilarious as somebody who's literally never even equipped DS to see people acting like they need this 5 second stun available on a 60 second timer after being "unhooked." Like, depending on the map, it's gonna take how long for the killer to travel all the way across the map? Most of the time you should be able to find some sort of tile to try to play around (loop him and whatnot) by the time he gets all the way back over. Also, as was mentioned above, it comes at the price of not having any killer perks that work around unhooking work either. I thought it was more crazy that he could hit through completely solid walls. When I first saw the cage thing, and especially after knowing that it spawns on the opposite side of the map, all I thought was "wow cool, it's kind of like an ability that hooks somebody quickly so you can get back into the chase again and save time." I wasn't exactly thinking "omg DS and BT can't be used on these cages!"

Oh I don’t really go up against legion very often. When I’m my Claudette main I usually see all the other killers but not legion.
Well in case you weren't aware, his deep wound he caused used to go down as long as you weren't in a chase. I don't know exactly what causes it to run out now (I know sitting still and/or working on a generator/totem or something will make the bar drain) but with the way it was before, he could just look the other direction and just follow your blood trail/scratches/grunts of pain backwards, leaving you no choice but to eventually stop to mend (where he would just M1 you obviously) or go down to the deep wounds itself. Needless to say, they changed that to the current form because it was obviously way too OP and had no counterplay. Especially because before, his power didn't end after 1 swing. He also had no cooldown on his attack when missing, so you would get hit by it no matter how good you are at juking.
So yeah. Pig can essentially be a weaker version of that, but bypass all the extra hook states since the trap is an insta kill. Not exactly fun when it's, as I said before, just a game of futilely running around until you're inevitably screwed over.
-
It's the same kind of player that would play Legion before they got changed, and do that stupid "chase the survivor while facing the other way so their bleedout bar always goes down" trick. It's just an easy way to get a sleezy kill. That's specifically why I groan every time I realize I'm facing a Pig: I always feel like they're going to just creep around listening for my reverse bear trap and just never let me interact with a box, but not actually start a chase with me so my timer just goes down. In that situation, just like the Legion one, it's just an unfun waiting game of "welp, time to just run around aimlessly until this stupid timer inevitably kills me."
-
I don't think they were "creating a new killer to counter" DS. I think it just naturally became a counter to DS because the way his cages work isn't the same as hook. You don't get use out of any perk that would be used for unhooking, on either side, whether that be Make Your Choice, Borrowed Time, Blood Echo, Decisive Strike, BBQ, etc.
I haven't gotten my hands on the PTB (mostly because I like to watch videos until the killer hits live and actually play the real game before then) but after watching Scott Jund's video about his first impressions on the killer, I believe I remember him saying that it's something that you'd usually want to use in a situation where you'd want to slug somebody. I'm guessing this is because it's a much shorter amount of time just banishing them through the bloody pool on the ground and then chasing another survivor rather than picking them up and dragging them to a hook before chasing another.
I don't think these cages are going to be as big of a deal as people are saying, and that's from somebody that almost never uses "second chance" perks, except for the times where I have a certain challenge I need to complete or something. I never relied on DS or BT or anything to get out of a situation being unhooked, and yeah it sucks not having those perks available when I need them, but I shouldn't really notice a difference personally because I try not to rely on crutches.
-
And what's your excuse for rage quitting again?
Also, why do you even really care about the achievements? If you want them then work for them. If not and it's too frustrating to the point where you quit, then maybe it's just not an achievement that you can obtain.
-
I don't know... I can see maybe it being another character or two from the series as Legendaries, but it would start seeming kind of strange if they started making, for example, Zoey as a legendary skin for Bill. The whole male/female model/animation discrepancies would feel kind of weird. Even if they made the animations different, then it would start making me ask "What would be so different between a legendary skin and an original survivor?" From what I can tell, people mostly feel like the survivors are just skins of each other already, so... It just kind of makes me confused a little bit thinking about it.
-
This might be a bit controversial to say but, hot take incoming:
I actually think what you're saying might be a good thing, about not allowing keys to be found in chests, EXCEPT with Plunderer's. I feel like Plunderer's is a perk where the perk itself doesn't really help you out much, it's more the items it provides that help you out, and still allowing for keys would retain the identity of Plunderer's. Even if you can still get keys, there's still several different items you can get, and there's only I think 3 chests that spawn on average, so you'd have to be getting lucky or bringing a lot of coin offerings, plus losing out on a perk slot (or two if you want Ace in the Hole as well) as the price to pay for that chance to get the keys.
I do think it's kind of annoying dealing with keys as killer, and I even had a game as survivor where the killer was about to 4k but I found a purple key in a chest last minute and just because the killer hooked a survivor near the hatch, I was able to open it and get 2 of us out (unfortunately the 3rd didn't make it.) I felt kind of bad just ripping 2 kills away right from his fingertips. Either way, if keys are going to exist in bloodwebs and I'm going to have to deal with them anyway, I wouldn't be opposed to people running Plunderer's and/or AitH and losing out on some other perks, while still allowing keys to be obtained, since I can still try to stop them from using it.

Actually they are planning on adding Prestige Rewards, so they would be adding Devotion Rewards down the line.
Except, those rewards won't be a 5th Perk Slot.
Just piggybacking off this statement, I believe the dev stream they had, someone answered a question about devotion rewards. The answer was something along the lines of that it's on the radar, but on the radar doesn't exactly mean coming soon. It could mean a lot further down the line.
-
They just did killer fixes in the last patch, didn't they? I recall specifically with Huntress, there was 2 bugs. #1 was when she hit a hatchet, she would be awarded no devious points. #2 was that her on-hit addons weren't working.
I don't have behind the scenes information or anything, but I imagine some bugs are just more complicated/harder to squash than others, and therefore just take more time. Don't ask me specifics though because as I said, I don't know any of their top secret stuff.

Pretty sure the "VPN users" the post is referring to are the ones that are super laggy and playing from a completely different side of the world. I don't think anybody would even notice if somebody from NA was using a VPN and still playing in their servers. Maybe I'm just too ignorant of how VPNs work, but I don't imagine somebody playing in their own area while just using a VPN would be hitting from a distance or lagging out just because of the VPN.

I am only not struggling because I am no longer allowed to struggle per BEHAVIOR's change. That is the point. Survivors don't get as many points as killers generally and now there are even less. If this post is too stale for you, then don't reply.
I am assuming that you are a killer main because of your profile pic. I would think that all players in the game would want to keep others interested in the game (on both sides). Taking away points from survivors is going in the wrong direction. I certainly would not want behavior to make a change that reduced killer's bloodpoints by 900 for every game.
Nice assumption but you're wrong. I just happen to like the Doctor a lot because I think he's a cool character. Even before he was reworked. It's not about killer vs. survivor, and I hate how everybody tries to make it that way.
I don't even understand what you mean by you're "no longer allowed to struggle per BEHAVIOR's change." I play my games and I can struggle on hook just fine, and get all my points. The only situation where you're not allowed to struggle anymore is when the game is already decided and over: when the only thing that's left is all the survivors struggling, where there's absolutely no chance any of them will get off the hook. My point is that you're asking for free bloodpoints for not getting to struggle, when you could literally just accept that you're probably going to get just as many bloodpoints on average in the same amount of time if the game does just end right there and you get to move on and start playing the next and getting bloodpoints in that game. I personally think it's a good change because of the reason I just mentioned in the previous sentence, and also because I play both sides so when I play killer, I've experienced what it's like just sitting there waiting for the game to end when there's clearly no chance of it progressing. It's the same feeling I get as survivor when I'm slugged and just waiting the timer out for me to bleed out, because they refuse to add a "give up" option or something when the bar is halfway gone. It's just a waste of time at a player's expense, and there's no real reason for it to happen.
And to address that "If this post is too stale for you, then don't reply" part, it's not that the post is "too stale" for me. It's the fact that at this point you're just borderline necro-ing the thread. I don't think there's necessarily a set amount of time for something to be considered a necro post, but when the post is dead for like 3 weeks and the content is no longer really relevant, I struggle to find a reason not to call it a necro.

You still made a horrible comparison between DbD and basketball. I didn't comment on his because it actually made sense when he was referencing it, and I commented on yours because yours was just a terrible take.
His example was of playing against inferior opponents. I personally read that as opponents who aren't as skilled. IDK how you interpreted it. Your example, however, was of somebody playing against somebody else with a natural physical disadvantage. As I said, you aren't at a complete disadvantage just because your number is lower.
But yes, just tell me I "failed an english class" because we're totally in school right now. Totally not because you have nothing to actually say in response to the points I brought up. Anyway, I will do you that favor and leave you be now. I don't want to waste my time on somebody who clearly isn't worth it and clearly doesn't want to add anything meaningful to the conversation.

I disagree, I play both killer and surv, I point at killers even if they are destroying me, and when I catch a survivor pointing at me and doing all thatshit I just face camp them, no matter how the game is going. Not because I get mad, but because I find it fun, especially in the end game chat
Yeah, I'll facecamp a survivor pointing at me too. I think it's fun to put somebody in their place, don't get me wrong, but as I said, it's the context that matters to me. Like if the survivor points at me, and then waves to follow just because they're trying to show me something or some crap, I'm not going to immediately tunnel and camp them. However, if they're just teabagging and pointing at every pallet as I said before, I will be more likely to do it.
I'd like to know which part you disagreed with specifically.

I'm prob part of the minority, but i never cared dumping BPs into survivors. Everything except for unlocking perks to me feels like a waste. I like playing survivor without ever bringing items unless it's an archive challenge that requires an item. Offerings also feels like a waste, i'll take whatever RNG throws at me.
When i do feel like using or farming for items i just use Ace in the Hole and Plunderer's Instinct. People prob forget or not realize if you escape with a new item with add-ons that could be any where between idk.... 5k-15k blood points worth you just got without actually using BPs. So that 15k BPs you gained end of game became 20k-25k, just don't really see it.
I prefer dumping my BPs into killers. I decided to main just 4 to dump BPs into. Killers are far more BP hungry for perks and their add-ons really impacts how they're played.
You took the words right out of my mouth, my man.
Anyway, answering the post:
- Killers, depending on which, tend to be reliant on their addons to allow them to pull of certain things. Playing a addon-less Cannibal vs. playing him with his tuning guide and the yellow charge addon, and you'll notice a gigantic difference. It will allow him to pull off many more things, where if he brought nothing, you practically can't do anything but M1 as Cannibal against good survivors. As survivor, a player can go in with no item and no addon and still do really well, because their playstyle isn't restricted as much as a killer would be without bringing anything.
- As a couple others mentioned, survivors can farm items and addons at virtually 0 cost, if you don't count the cost of obtaining Plunderer's or any other item perk. Killers cannot. If I could kick a chest open and find addons as a killer, I might have a different opinion on this point.
- The devs stated (thankfully, as I'm of the same mindset) that these extra things you bring into the game are supposed to be looked at as some sort of temporary treat that you earn, not something that you use every game. I have just as much of a problem with how I see so many moris when I'm playing survivor: it feels like killers just get them like candy.
- With 4 different survivors, I personally feel like the one killer having strong addons isn't as impactful to a game as, for example, all 4 survivors coming with a stacked setup with a bunch of high quality keys/medkits/flashlights/toolboxes, with styptics/syringes/BNP.
Also, I don't know what people mean when they're talking about getting a bunch of rare items in their blood webs. I'm mostly seeing purples at best, here and there only, and mostly getting yellows browns and greens instead. I usually tend to get some of the cheaper items, on either side, but even then sometimes I won't even end up with a pink or like more than 1 purple. So, from my experiences, I have no idea what these people are talking about (for example, some other comment said something about getting like 3 purple bags for Trapper.)
-
I actually got a few myself but it was a couple/few weeks back. I was confused what even was happening because it just looked like extreme lag, where I would get him from a distance, and then I saw a video where a player was going against what they described as "a VPN-ing killer," and then it all made sense to me.
After I saw that, I pretty much made up my mind that VPNing is borderline cheating.
-
I'm not saying that the perks are bad necessarily, but why mention the combo?
I can see the appeal in each individual perk, but I don't quite understand what makes less cooldown+more FoV so great.
-
Warframe. There's still some annoying parts about it, but 99% of the time it's so chill you could practically fall asleep playing it.
-
Forget Strongbad, he would need it even if Strongbad didn't exist. I wanna see wrestler David.
-
I agree. I love when survivors get really cocky thinking they can pull off things in my face and then realizing that I'm still right on their butts because I have like no attack cooldown. It really is a life saver against aggressive play, and I would use it a lot more often if I had it on more killers and wasn't spreading my bloodpoints out between like every character in the game.

It really all depends on the context. Examples:
Somebody crouching up and down isn't toxic. Somebody pointing isn't toxic. Now, somebody that will throw down a pallet in front of a killer, and then immediately start just teabagging and pointing, that's a little toxic. I won't kill somebody for just doing a little "1-2" double crouch in front of me and then running away, but as I said it's situational. And no, before some douche comes and replies with something like "if it bugs you then stop playing blah blah," that's not what I'm saying. I just think it needs to be said that while something like using a flashlight in general isn't toxic really, something more specific like following the killer around and just clicking it a bunch to try and annoy them, is, in my opinion.
It's really a subjective thing, like how some people might think something is moral or immoral. Or, another concept I would compare it to is rudeness (since that's partially what toxicity is, kind of being bad-mannered or BM). To one person, releasing a loud belch in say, a library, might seem like no big deal, but I would still argue that a large amount of people still perceive it to be rude. As with toxicity, some people might not think something is toxic while others will, but I think most people will agree on certain things being toxic, such as intentionally sandbagging your team mates to get them killed, farming your team mates off hook, spamming audio (flashlights, rushed actions, etc.) Pretty much mostly things that are obviously not the way to play the game, and are mostly done by people who are just trying to be scummy.

I have quite a bit of hours put in (I joined when Clown was the newest killer, so been a while but I'm not a founder or anything) and I still have plenty of progress to make on my characters. As far as I'm concerned, I don't care if somebody at rank 1 with tons of hours put in wants to bring a souped up flashlight with all the 2nd chance perks and wants to beat me that way and talk smack. As you said, this game's got a learning curve, so all I have to worry about is being good and once I'm not stuck with crap perks on most of my killers, I'll be able to be one of those killers that can afford to bring an ebony mori every game. Not that I would just always mori people off 1st hook, but I never use my moris anyway, so I might as well use it as a safety precaution more than anything.
I'd consider myself a mid-rank killer, since I usually end up around rank 5-9 or so by the time rank reset hits. I just don't think what you said about not being able to improve is true. You can improve a lot, you just have to tough it out until you can get good stuff on killers you like to be able to compete. Certain killers don't have as much dependency on addons but I can tell you from experience, playing as a Trapper for example, and having brown or no addons vs. the more expensive ones makes a huge difference.

But guess what. A basketball player who is 6'0 can actually get better than when they are versing someone 6'0. Who would have known? Im an experince player but your advice is just trash. A rank 15 killer should be versing a rank 15 survivor. Not a rank 1 survivor. You're just encouraging them to stop playing the game because who want's to lose just because someone is waay higher rank than you are.
Your comment is unbelievably out of touch. "A basketball player who is 6'0" has nothing to do with rankings in DbD, as the devs themselves even say rank has more to do with time played than skill. Even then, a rank 1 player can still play like crap. Somebody being a lower rank in DbD is absolutely no comparison to somebody having a height disadvantage in Basketball, because the number next to your name in DbD doesn't inherently give you any sort of advantage or disadvantage. So right at the beginning, what you said already falls flat.
If you say you don't learn anything from high levels, you're simply showing that you just refuse to learn anything from playing against them.

I mean, what other games do you play that allow people to freely message you? I can't really think of many because I'm on PC.
You're on console, so I'm assuming you have the option to turn off messages either way.

I'm rank 15 killer and I get matched against red ranks. I don't care about my rank but I would like to have a chance of winning more than 1 in 4 matches.
I just want to commend you on actually not being obsessed with rank. Too many people are here.
-
I'm always for the point you brought up: "no one has the right to judge how the other plays, nor the right to prevent the other from having fun."
That being said, if there is two survivors, and neither of them are bothering to do anything whatsoever other than hop in and out of lockers in the basement or something, then I would say it's bordering on holding the game hostage. If there was maybe a hard time cap on how long a match can go, like maybe 25 minutes or something, I wouldn't care as much because there would still be some sort of pressure building up to the end of the game. Otherwise, it's just the killer doing circles around the map for a really long time while two people are just sitting around doing nothing.
Again though, I'm all for people playing how they want. If you want to play to save your own skin then that's completely fine, I just personally am not a fan of that kind of situation. If I'm on the survivor side in that situation and it's not just 1 gen left or some other manageable situation, I'll just walk up to the killer and let them kill me to get out of the game more quickly and give my team mate the hatch. To each their own though.

Close between Otz and Tofu.

They said they got like a 50-something percent decrease or something like that (I can't remember the exact number off the top of my head) so I'll take that any day and eat the penalty the few times my internet does go faulty.
People shouldn't be baby raging and quitting mid match. Whatever helps significantly cut that down, I'll take it.
-
Just at the thought of having somebody Deliverance right in my face, then run really far away and make me chase them around, just to down them again, and then maybe get hit by DS? I say probably not a good change.

Oh are they actually serious? It looks so obvious though. Honestly that makes his post even funnier lmao
Yes people say stuff like that on here sometimes. That's why I'm confused. o_O
