I haven't seen that, on PC? I play on PS4.

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/1366332#Comment_1366332

Nope, it is confirmed the servers favor The Killer. This doesn't mean that every hit will prevail in every circumstance, many factors go into the equation such as latency. However it's the networking algorithm for the game currently but that will eventually change with the implementation of hit validation.

I don't want you to take this as me calling you wrong, because for all I know you're right, but can you direct me to this "confirmation"?

As long as I have things that shouldn't happen as killer keep happening to me, I'm not going to buy into that. Every time I go into a grab animation and have it cancelled, losing me both a grab and a hit, it makes it that much more hard to believe that servers "favor The Killer."

Even then, lets say you are right, and that there's "many factors" that go into it... Isn't that what I was saying? That it's not just the killer's internet?

  • I think they're relatively similar in power despite what some people say. Yeah, a killer can knock out a survivor in just a couple minutes, but a team of survivors can have multiple survivors escape in just a couple minutes potentially. Especially if they're on comms or they have more than just one key on the team.

I'm not exactly taking a side on which is "stronger" because it's hard to draw that line when killers have such different gameplay than survivors. Killers rely on one player, the killer, but survivors can all work together as a unit and get amazing things done -- that's kind of the idea between the two roles. When it comes to moris and keys, the same thing kind of applies. I think if you're looking at it from a 1v1 perspective, a mori is probably stronger in my opinion depending on the rarity. On the other hand, if all 4 survivors have keys and even one of them finds the hatch (which honestly shouldn't be hard if 4 people are alive) then they're all outta there.

Either way, I think both are an easy out.

Its not. Ive had people dc cause they said I was lagging. I wasnt, other survivor said tge same.

People forget that the game will put you in servers for different regions and were on dedicated servers so were not all talking to tge server at tge same speed even if everyone has good internet. Its like, physics or some #########.

Thank you for being another voice of reason in here. I just dislike how people will look and and blame the most on the surface thing they can.

The Huntress is a nightmare without hit validation. Those Hatchets go around corners like they have a homing beacon.

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/1366313#Comment_1366313

The servers favor what The Killer sees and they have a significant advantage when they lag. Lots of videos about how to game the system when you're The Killer. I'm unaware of any ways to manipulate your network to gain an advantage as a Survivor.

Mmm, I don't think so. Otherwise killers wouldn't be complaining about getting screwed out of so many grabs. Plus, I've seen multiple players here (including myself) that have had experiences on survivor where they'll get hit from a long distance away from a window as well as playing killer and getting hits or grabs stolen from them. Even something that 100% should work in some niche cases like hitting a survivor with Plague's puke/Clown's bottle, etc. and having them scream, the survivor might not even be affected. Like, I've had games of my own and seen other peoples' games where the will play Plague, puke directly on a survivor, the survivor will wave their arms around and yell out like they got hit, and they still won't get infect. Now hopefully you can explain to me how those examples show that the servers "favor what The Killer sees."

My point is, maybe if there's a hit that's happening from far away, the killer's internet might not be the only possible thing wrong. My internet if perfectly fine and I'll still have a connection of 100+ ping frequently, because that's just how the servers are.

  • Ever consider that maybe it's not the killer's internet that's at fault?

  • The way I see it, make your characters how you want. Make every single character LGBTQ or whatever for all I care. Maybe I just don't understand what it's like as a straight person, but I would think the easiest way to be inclusive and help LGBTQ people to feel more normal and less like a marginalized group is to treat them like any other normal person. That means not tokenizing them and making a big deal out of having somebody like that in your stuff.

As I said, maybe I just don't get it or something, but if people just started making celebratory posts and stuff about something like that related to me (like having a straight pride month or something) it would feel odd to me rather than inviting that people are making a big deal out of my traits. I think it's absolutely great to be inclusive, but when it's purely for the purpose of inclusivity, to the point where it takes away from the quality of the character, that's when it starts to feel (to me at least) like it's "pandering" and being used more for good PR than just having a character that's like that from the beginning.

One of the other commenters (I think with a Freddy profile picture) commented with a picture of one of those Stranger Things characters (the Scoops Ahoy girl), and after being reminded of her, I totally agree that she's an LGBTQ character done right. It's made obvious what she's interested, but it's not done in a way that takes away from the episode, just a little thing you learn about her. I think when something like this is revealed in a good way (like how they did it really smoothly and naturally with the girl in the Stranger Things episode) then it's awesome, but it just feels out of place when it's made to be the defining characteristic of something. I also saw somebody make a comment about people hating on stuff only when LGBTQ things are introduced, but I think that's just stupid, because Ellie was already revealed to like girls before anything was revealed about The Last of Us 2. I remember hearing plenty of people saying they did her reveal well because they didn't throw it into the story as one of the main plot points, and it was just revealed in a natural way.

I don't care much either way because it doesn't matter to me what kind of genitals Dwight likes, and if you LGBTQ people are loving it that much then that's even better. I just personally would feel weird if people tried to tokenize me in such a way.

And please, don't even try to twist what I'm saying around to try to make it sound like I'm hating on LGBTQ representation. I hate having to add this in, but there's too many people who will try something like that.

Space coconut is going off on my forum post about this cause he supports and Im guessing is taking part in the tunneling and bullying of Lisa players.

You're literally putting words in his mouth just to name and shame him in a separate thread. Take a step back and look at your posts.

No. Not really. Go read the post she's talking about and you'll see that nowhere in there does he say it's a good thing. The closest thing he says to that is that it's an "interesting protest tactic" or something along those lines. He even specifically stated to be clear that he stated that it was interesting and NOT that he supports it. Selective hearing is one thing, but what do you call it when somebody only picks and chooses words when they read? Selective reading?

I hate when people try to act like they dictate what somebody else is thinking. Even worse when they try to bring it into another thread just to name and shame a person.

  • I feel like you could say that about more than just Jane. Not that I don't think it's true at all about her >_>

  • I'm not going to lie, I haven't noticed a lot of audio bugs but I'm guessing that it has to be because it's harder to tell when sound isn't happening as opposed to if there was a sound that was happening that shouldn't be there (like with the newer chainsaw sound bugs) but I do have to agree that as of recent I've been seeing them a lot. The aforementioned chainsaw one is one that I've seen as a pretty obvious one for a while, but with the new patch it seems like it's gotten worse. Scott Jund did a good video on it, where he showcased it with him playing killer and chasing a Dwight and Bill (I think?) and they were literally not making any noise whatsoever (no pain grunts, no footsteps on terrain and such). Also he showed that if you were to drop from a height where you'd kind of do the "waahhh!" sound as you're falling, the sound doesn't happen, nor does the sound of your character hitting the ground or the sound of the terrain when you hit the ground. That's some really bad audio, since it pretty much means that every survivor just gets free Iron Will and half of the effects of Balanced Landing.

  • I was just complaining about this in another thread. I mean, I'm not going to act like it's every game that I'm needing to report somebody, but I've had a couple times in recent memory where I've seen somebody just blatantly hacking. One of them actually was within the past two days, so I couldn't click on their profile, but I have the footage and everything.

I don't understand what the mindset behind that change was when one of the biggest things to add into a report is somebody's steam ID.

Also, just something to add, not sure if this post counts as naming and shaming? If it does, then it's kind of unfortunate because this actually is something I feel like should be addressed, and the clip just adds a lot of context.

  • I always hated the "stun the killer with a pallet" challenges specifically. It's way too situational based on what killer you're going to be going against. I swear every time I get these challenges selected, I go against nothing but Huntress and Spirit, or some other killer that has almost no chance of them wanting to even go under a pallet.

  • I don't think OP realizes that there's a way to not get tormented. OP claims there's "no" downside to using the trails, when you literally have your ability to move side to side taken away and travel at less speed. Also, OP acts like there's no way to get around a PH using his trails in a loop, as if you can't just run to a new area when he's trying to do that crap. I assume you stay at loops and try to play them against a Clown, or Freddy, Hag, and Trapper too when they use their powers on loops?

Since PH came out I've been in about 5 or 6 games with him in it, 2 were me playing him to test some stuff out. Of all those games, I think only 3 people got mori'd/mini mori'd and 2 were a mini mori while I was playing the PH games, and the other one was a mori off 1st hook against one of the other PHs I played against. I was tunneled by one, but it wasn't even because I was tormented or anything, it's because I was playing on The Game with almost nowhere to run. I don't even bring DS anyway so when a killer decides to tunnel me like that it's pretty much game over for me anyway, so it's not just PH. I played against 2 Billies in the same day during those games, and both of them were just as scummy if not more scummy than the PHs I played against.

I just think it's absolutely bananas how people complain about PH's cages being OP or whatever when there's plenty of ways to try to avoid it, and there's way more OP things that exist in the game. Like, do people forget that you can also negate DS on any other killer by simply just using a mori and killing somebody off first hook? That's something every killer can do, bring a mori and kill people off first hook, and PH can't do that with his cages. People complain about such small things when there's much bigger fish to fry.

  • I just want to point out how hilariously ironic it is that OP will say things like "that sounds like a personal problem," while complaining about people ruining the fun of his matches, and also ignoring the fact that there's several people bringing up similar points (remove the struggle system, struggling is annoying because it damages equipment/thumbs, sometimes you will die even while pressing the button, wanting to suicide on hook to give team mate hatch, etc.).

At some point, you have to wonder how much reasoning it will take to make somebody realize that punishing somebody for dying early on hook, at least in DbD's current state, is not a good idea.

And don't even get started with that "so what you're saying is.." kind of BS, Cathy Newman. What I said is what I meant: it's just not a good idea in DbD's current state. I don't need my words twisted around into some sort of garbage about how I think it's a good thing for every player to just kill themselves and disconnect every game.

Because it doesn’t give you an option to; you can only look at people through match details in post-game, and that doesn’t show the killer.

You used to be able to click profiles at the end of a match, now you cannot. Neither killers nor survivors can be checked in the scoreboard after the game. I don't care as much about checking profiles before the match starts anyway.

  • Yeah, and I just had 7 back to back survivor games where I either got camped, hard tunneled, went against a mori, had my team mate kill me themselves, and was found first practically every single game within seconds of the match starting. Usually a combination of more than one of them happened in a single game. It's more than likely the ranked reset.

Welcome to rank reset, where the other survivors are even more of a detriment to you and even less useful to you than usual, all the while the killers have to rely on anything they can, even bullying a survivor off hook every single time to the point where they only get 2k points, just to secure a "win" no matter how scummy. Ranked reset is really something.

  • They also made it so we can't check profiles anymore. :(

  • Hah, good luck with that report. Not that I don't want it to be taken seriously, but I sent in my first one ever was 17 days ago I believe, and it's still "open" or whatever.

And it's proof of a hacker if that matters, some pretty cut and dry stuff I would think. Not something that would take 2+ weeks to resolve.

No I do fine against all other killers. Because I can use skill and mind games and lose them. When I lose the doctor he just shocked me to see where I am and it starts again. It’s awful. In fact I just played a killer right now and it was the worse. Made me want to quit the game. It was in the new level and he would shock all 4 of us at the same time every time. Miserable experience. I don’t have any friends that find playing against him enjoyable

god just a few more blood points to unlock calm spirit. Just a few more. I can’t wait.

If you're that good at losing other killers, you should have absolutely no problem with Doc even if he does know where you are. You don't have to find playing against him enjoyable but you have to admit that in terms of pure chasing power, Doc does not compare to some other killers. Especially on the new map where it's confusing as hell for anybody to even find their way around.

I'm not trashing on you by any means either, so don't take it that way. I think Calm Spirit is actually a pretty alright perk, not only against the Doctor. I just find it kind of funny that you hate Doctor because you, as I said, feel like you can't stay away from him (he just finds you again) when there's plenty of other killers that are just like that. Right off the top of my head, I can name 3 killers that I can outplay and outplay but no matter what, they're still almost always going to be right back on me: Nurse, Spirit, Billy. I can elude all these killers and no matter what they'll still be relentlessly chasing me, unless one of them just really goes and gets extra confused. Most of the time though, a good one of those killers won't be confused about things. I know it's not exactly the same thing that you said with Doc, because you say you lose him at least but still get found, but with all the other killers it just reminds me of that same exact feeling of, "oh look I outplayed and outplayed this killer and yet I still can't get away because they're literally just that fast." Just thought it was kind of funny that you get that feeling the most from Doc of all killers, when there's several others I can think of that are much more annoying (in my opinion).

  • I think the purpose is to kind of use the power to "corner" them so while I don't think it should extend too far out in front (not that that's what you're saying) I don't think it would exactly be bad to have a tiny bit of it extend right in front of his feet, since survivors shouldn't really be that close to you anyway unless they're relatively cornered.

  • I think it's a really fine line between playing the game right and "holding the game hostage." I'm pretty sure the only thing that counts as holding the game hostage is if there's literally no other way the game can end. Usually means being trapped in a corner with no other option than to disconnect. I'm pretty sure it's only this way because people would constantly cry about "body blocking" and they only want the most black-and-white cases to be punishable. That's just my guess: that they don't want to punish somebody who honestly didn't deserve it and was just trying to play the game.

I don't think it's exactly nice what happened to you, but I'm pretty sure by the standards of the game's rules, only those niche situations will truly be considered "holding the game hostage." At least in a punishable sense. I would understand why you would want to generally call what happened to you being "held hostage," in a temporary sense.

  • I think it's quite funny how people forget that you can't get caged unless you get tormented, and every second the killer spends trying to make me tormented instead of hitting me is another second I'm running around instead of not dying on the ground. If I'm wasting more of the killer's time just for him to try to get some special effect on me that cancels out 2nd chance perks (which I don't run anyway) then I am 100% fine with him trying to get that stupid trail on me.

Granted, it's still early since his release and I can't say I know all his values and everything (number of seconds/how much time his trail lasts, etc.) but what I can say is that he can only set trails under him and he moves slower (I think 110%?) movespeed, with no side to side movement and only moving forward and steering. With those things in mind, I've usually been able to adapt the good old "hold W" counterplay that's popular against Nurse and use it well against him. If I just keep running to new tiles and whatnot, he's eventually going to have to give up on the trails unless he's just running ridiculously long trail duration, and he'll have to just attack and hook me normally. By that time he's already wasted however much time trying to get me in a trail.

Now again as I said, it's not like I'm an expert since it's still early since his release and I haven't gotten to do extensive playing against him, and maybe it's just because people are bad at him, but he's far from OP or anything from what I've seen. Yeah, the cages might get annoying if you rely on second chance perks instead of skill, and maybe it won't always be easy to avoid, but as some people have said there's going to be strengths and weaknesses to every killer, just like how Plague attacks the healing aspects of the survivors and Doc attacks the stealth.

  • I haven't played tons of games against him or whatever, but I've already gone some without even having gotten caged once.

First of all, it sends you to the far corner of the map.

Second, you actually have to be caught in a trail and then downed to be put into the cage, at which point you will no longer be tormented.

Third, if you hate that part about him, I imagine you absolutely despise going against Freddy. Maybe start with Freddy if you want to complain about things that negate Borrowed Time, because Freddy can do that with normal old hooks and without having to land any special power on somebody. What do you know, he's existed like that for months now and hasn't changed.

  • If you feel like you hate Doctor of all killers because you feel like you can't get away, you must have night terrors of some of the other killers that are actually much better at chasing...

  • People need to quit with this "X killer is like Y killer but with Z" nonsense. If there's a "but with," they're not the same killer.

Most recent example (before now with Pyramid) is when Deathslinger came out and people kept calling him just a "worse Huntress" or whatever. Killers have their different strengths and weaknesses...

How about we step back a bit, relax, and wait for the inevitability of the community realizing "oh wow, this killer actually has some nuance!" Lets just let people actually figure out the limits of the killer before we start calling out "OP," "weak," or "just another version of X killer," hm?

    1. You must be a teacher or someone that likes correcting people.

    2. Like a BULLY

    3. You can not help yourself I understand it's in your nature to always be right to yourself.

    4. Hope you read this because that was funny.

Setting aside your post being half-legible, you fail to understand that your tastes don't comprise the tastes of everybody else that plays the game. Some people like licensed characters. Some people do find appeal in the idea of playing as, say, Michael Myers and slashing dudes up. Just because you don't like that doesn't mean that there isn't a demand for it.

Also, I find it weird that you call this "making money off others fame" when it's a symbiotic relationship. It's not like they're just stealing an idea and putting it in -- they have a license and share profits with the original owners, which in turn helps them. On top of that, it gives their work exposure. I don't think I ever really got interested in watching Stranger Things before the chapter came out in DbD, for example.

  • I think the undetectable effect itself is amazing. The yellow aura does ruin it, but I think without it the undetectable effect is actually really nice. Only problem I have with it is with audio. Demogorgon (one of the few killers who can naturally go undetectable at will without a perk) is a good example of this, because I can think of plenty of times (playing from both sides too) where a Demo would teleport through a portal and almost sneak up on somebody, but the mere sound of his stomping footsteps is enough to make them run away. I think if the undetectable effect lasted long enough, and maybe if undetectable made the sounds killers make less audible, like Demogorgon having quieter footsteps, then I wouldn't even mind the generator getting highlighted. At least then I could use a nice undetectable effect and try to get a hit out of it, kind of like somebody might try to do with Dark Devotion.

I agree with what you say though. It's an underwhelming perk.

Believe it or not, most people don’t care for lore, perks or a separate voice actor. They buy it because they like the design/look and enjoy the game.

I can value a cow turd at $15 and somebody out there will buy it. Does that mean that the cow turd is worth 15$? Most people probably wouldn't agree.

Yes, there's obviously people who will buy something for any price if they like something about it enough, but that's kind of the point. Some people will view it as worth it, and other people will question why they do.

As for how I feel, I personally think it is kind of a ripoff and sets a bad precedent. I feel bad saying that because I did buy into the battle pass, but I felt better doing that with how much free time I have rather than buying skin after skin, because it's simply more cost efficient for me to get skins that way than through buying a bunch off the store. That being said, I still can recognize that the system is kind of predatory in the way it works, and that it isn't consumer-friendly. As somebody pointed out in a previous comment, the skin itself is worth more than the whole DLC. Actually double. I found myself asking what the difference between a new character entirely and a legendary skin would be, and it seems like it's just another reskin just without perks and a new voice. So why would somebody pay 3x the price for a "character" that comes with less actual value in-game than an actual character?

Again, you can feel how you want about it, but even though it's all kind of a gray area, my line starts to be drawn when the value of something just seems way too off. Battle pass, sure maybe it's a little predatory but for some people like me it's more cost efficient. As for the legendary skins? Well, the cost vs. what you get for those is pretty obvious...

  • I have a hard time answering your post because to me it sounds like you're just lumping anybody who does that kind of thing in with the crowd that does it with ill intention. There's been plenty of times that I won't heal somebody because I want to get a gen done before the killer gets back, or I might know my team mates are in an area I'm running but not care because I'm injured and they're all healthy, and the killer will either have to give up his pressure on me and give me some breathing room to heal, or he'll have to ignore my team mates, in which case it's not even a bad thing that I lead him over to them. If anything, it's a good thing in that situation, because not only did he ignore the team mates, but now they also know where he is and can position accordingly.

I think I get what you're asking, but it sounds like you're kind of implying that people who do these two things are all doing it for the same reason. For the healing, I explained that sometimes it's about just being time efficient and I might not think that somebody needs to be healed for everybody to get out/the group to be the most successful. As for the running toward my team mate with the killer, I honestly see DbD as somewhat of a game of hot potato when it comes to the killer. Survivors have to kind of toss the killer around and try to split their attention. To me it's not always a bad thing to tag somebody else in for a chase, especially if I can go help them out by taking a hit for them after I get healed up or something, so they can have some room to breathe. IDK if the whole "hot potato" thing makes sense, sorry if it doesn't.

  • They made the EGC start when the survivors choose (unless the killer wants to give up all their pressure) and still allow survivors a certain period of teabagging time because they knew the survivors would be mad if all of it was taken away, and needed to be appeased.

Relax before any of you get mad, I'm joking. At least half-joking.

yes, because its a videogame and my friends are not 5 yr olds

"don't you feel that being okay with DCing just because you're okay with it is inherently selfish?"

no, because its a party game

stop being so dramatic, its a game lmfao

I feel sorry for your friends that they have to deal with you.

  • Instead of being "scared" of builds I usually end up just groaning and think "here we go again."

there are countless videos showing people getting stuck in-game indefinitely, unable to heal, being held hostage etc where the only option is to DC, saying "well the timer starts low" is laughable

Just because you don't mind it doesn't mean that other people want to deal with it. If you're playing a game on a console with your friend (Halo, CoD, Super Smash Bros, etc.) and you quit mid game because you get salty and shut off the console, do you think that friend is going to want to hang out with you anymore? I'd bet not.

Another question: don't you feel that being okay with DCing just because you're okay with it is inherently selfish? It disregards how other players in the game are affected, and a disconnect is done chiefly for one's own personal pleasure at the cost of others. Correct me if I'm wrong, but that sounds pretty textbook selfish.

you can say just walk up to them, but theres alot of safe loops and pallets on these maps as well so easier said than done, except for sheltered obviously, my point is the added alot of these blockages for ghostface when he came out, and in return cucking over 2 other killers in exhange, theres no reason a map should literally hinder a killers power, yes i can just walk up to a surv and down them like that but that works against inexperience survs, not against people who actually have skill, by all means huntress chase me around this tile while you try to wind up a hatchet, As far as billy its more a mobility hinder that has been caused by these changes, they added so much blockage with tiny gaps you can't really effectively go across the map like with most especially the bigger verisons of these maps where gens tend to be very spread

The tiles and the trees are two separate matters. If you want to say the tiles are too strong, sure I can let you have that one. But the trees themselves, I just don't see what's so bad about just trying to get closer to the survivor and then charging the power. Yea it might screw over Billy and Huntress if they're trying to go for like some cross map/long shot uses of their power, but not every map is going to be suited for something like that. Lery's has a similar issue where there's cover aaaall over the place and you can't get a clear shot with Huntress or Billy often, but I just tell myself that it's just not a map that they're going to be good on. Maps can just have an impact on the game, and it can really depend who/what you are.

I'm not trying to dismiss that maybe there is a problem, but if there's any sort of problem I still think the trees aren't really the biggest problem out there. They're really thin so if you've used up some nearby pallets already, the survivors might as well be in a dead zone because as soon as you get closer, they're screwed because what kind of cover is a tree really going to give them if they can't get to anything else?

  • I mean, just don't go for long-range saws and hatchets? With either killer you can just walk closer to a survivor. Huntress - walk closer and then charge hatched. Billy - backrev on them, or curve around a tree if you want.

Out of all the things I get annoyed about in this game, I've never considered trees.

Well that's your error right there. Not everyone plays nurse to be sweaty, if youre good at her you dont have to be sweaty and even if you're just decent it makes games way more fair because survs are string as hell. Also I play nurse because she is fun and that's mainly it, she is a challenge and that's the best part. Also go ahead play normally, but dont purposelly bully a new nurse its dumb and is just pointless, unless you're just a dick, but also I played walking nurse to meme and it was HADDONFIELD and I had a flashlighter who tried to blind while I was carrying they blocked the hook and did it wrong but I swung as soon as hang popped up and you know what he said? Ez that is dumb I played and they sucked but because someone makes a mistake or isnt very good as nurse or killer they think they are gods and it only happened because I made one mistake, say what you will but in this game no matter what skill you are survs get a god complex they do it even when they get carried by a team. Anyways my point is from your experience I guess people don't act like that but with mine and many others our experience is the POLAR opposite of yours

I disagree it makes it "fair" if you're a good Nurse. It makes things just straight up easy. That's what I mean by "sweaty," the kind of player that uses any possible thing they can, as long as it's the strongest, if it will give them success. That's just something you'll probably disagree with me on, but I just don't think there's a lot that a survivor can do against a Nurse that knows how to blink.

And no I know what you mean. People are like that in my experience, but my point is as I said before, it's not even exclusive to when I play Nurse. I can be playing Clown and just trying to have a chill game to grind some XP/shards and have people that are going full tryhard, like coordinating Head Ons and having a bunch of second chance perks and then having the nerve to talk trash at the end. My two main points though are that 1. people are going to act like that no matter what (as I explained with that Clown example) and 2. Nurse is a killer that people will typically play because she's the killer to main. It's like Yasuo in League of Legends, if you play that. He's a character that pretty much only tryhards will play because an average player will suck and die all the time on him, but he has the tools in his kit to be completely insane and if you get some practice in on him there's practically nothing that can beat you. That's what Nurse is like, so you often can't afford to dilly dally around because Nurse isn't some trash good-for-nothing killer. It's Nurse.

Yea I'm sorry to hear that people are being douches. I personally don't care enough to take it to heart, but I understand that it's annoying. All I'm saying though is that if you're going to play Nurse, people will abuse the fact that you're not good if you're not good.

I 100% think people should be free to DC whenever they want for whatever reason.

That tells me all I need to know about what kinda person you are.

I personally think that's just selfish, but change my mind if you'd like. Probably can't, but I'll entertain the possibility.

  • I think I tend to agree. For Haddonfield specifically, I get a similar feeling to Lery's, although less extreme, where a lot of the areas start to look the same. I wish they spiced it up somehow, instead of having just rows of houses that all look really similar, with a park here and there.

simping for a system that clearly is too buggy to be justified

also DCers just suicide now lmao

    "Simping" lmao

So you suggest freely allowing people to DC whenever they like?

  • Didn't know Resilience was suddenly meta.

For me: DS (I see the "appeal" of getting easy wins, but I don't see the appeal in terms of interesting gameplay. It's not interesting to use DS), Adrenaline, and NOED. Adrenaline and NOED both for the reason that I'm more of a fan of perks that benefit you during the main part of the game, not just at the very end.

  • When they add the new system to test the hit logic or whatever they called it, hopefully things will be better. I do want to say though it's not a Huntress exclusive problem. I can't tell you how many times I've vaulted through a window, started getting a running start, and had the killer just swipe at a window and I still get hit, whereas if I'm playing killer and swinging at a survivor that's mid-vault I still can't manage to hit them. I'm really getting tired of the bullshit hitboxes they have, but as I said it's not only Huntress. I see it from Huntress a lot, but I see it maybe about as much from Freddy, and I'm always suspecting that they're VPNing because for some reason it just seems especially bad when playing against Freddy. A lot of Freddies I play against will just swing way behind me and still manage to get hits, and I'm talking like swinging through a pallet while I'm already running away from it, and still getting hit.

It's just something that has to be toughed out until they fix it and make it better. I just want it to be so that if I get hit through a window as survivor, I can hit somebody in the exact same situation as killer, but it just won't ever work for me. It's bullshit. Until then, just gotta start bringing a mori and just taking survivors out the game early if they keep living when they shouldn't. I usually like to give everybody a chance to play, regardless of if I feel like they're being sweaty or SWF or whatever, but when I have to go against all the second chance perks, plus people trying to act obnoxious by teabagging/clicking flashlights or whatever, plus being robbed of hits over and over, I don't see why I shouldn't be able to also cheese my way through some kills. I just recommend you start doing the same until they make the change to hit detection. I'm not even talking just bring a mori and mori everybody off first hook, but bringing a mori just as "insurance" seems more and more necessary with each hit I'm robbed of, or each time I get hit as survivor when I clearly shouldn't have.

  • Nurses often seem to be the ones that shouldn't be shown mercy. If you want to say that you don't want people to talk smack, fine (even though that's very wishful thinking), but just because somebody tries against somebody who is bad at Nurse doesn't mean they think they're a god. Fact is, people that play Nurse are often the kind of person who wants to go super super sweaty and try their heart out. A Nurse in practice is just that kind of player in the making, so they kind of should be met with that kind of resistance. I say this as a not-so-good Nurse myself. The only reason I see to play Nurse is to put in a little effort to learn her just to steamroll games, which is the only real motive I have to play her right now. If I actually want to have fun and feel like the other side has a chance I'll play a different killer, because I'm not somebody who thinks the only thing important about a game is just using every little last advantage possible to destroy the competition.

The way I see it, playing Nurse and complaining that people are going hard on you is just as silly as bringing OoO and complaining about getting tunneled. I can understand being irritated if you're playing just to be chill, like maybe playing Clown or Demo and just running non-meta perks, and the survivors are all talking mad crap when they escape as if you were trying very hard at all. That kind of thing is annoying, but there's no point dwelling on it because people will just continue to be douchebags and unless we cross some lines, there's nothing we can really do about people being douchebags. Just be careful what you use, because people will often play accordingly.

  • People here already made the good points.

You don't want survivors being able to take a million hits before they go down. Go watch a youtuber or streamer playing survivor and pay attention to their builds. Often times they'll be running at least on 2nd chance perk if not multiple. Almost always DS, usually adrenaline and/or some sort of exhaustion perk, and maybe even Borrowed Time. There's a reason for this, and it's because those perks are already godly and they make the game much easier. Every time they add something in that allows survivors to take yet another hit, they're creating another tool that survivors can stack along with the others to make things that much easier for themselves. When multiple survivors are running all these different perks, it just makes for situations where the killer can't do anything because it's just a lose-lose. Typical example that already exists being DS+Unbreakable.

I'm not against making "strong" survivor perks, but there needs to be something that prevents survivors from just stacking a bunch of stuff like that together. Even if anybody wants to say "ooooo you need all the 2nd chance perks for when you're going against sweaty killers with purple addons and an ebony mori" all I really have to say to that is, maybe stuff like that shouldn't exist in the state it's in either. I don't exactly think there should even be a situation where if either side isn't running the absolute strongest things possible, then they pretty much automatically lose. Perks and addons should help the game, sure, but while certain things like BT might be strong and sometimes even necessary against facecamping, I think perks and addons should mostly be for just having nice little boosts or things that help keep things interesting in the game (think bodyblocker Hag/drift king Billy).

  • I wouldn't say they're bannable, but if you do some stupid crap like making me sit there slugged until I crawl to the hatch, only for you to close it in my face (like I thought you were even going to let me have it) then you bet your ass I'm gonna make the game hell for you if I ever catch you in a lobby too. Some of those things aren't as bad as others, like getting whacked on the hook, but some things can just be straight up dick moves that nobody ever should be doing unless they're purposely just trying to cause somebody grief, which even then is pretty terrible.

  • My friend gave me a free code for this game because he didn't realize he already had it, and I was quite shocked at the gameplay when I first tried it (I went in blind). I had no idea how pallets and windows worked, and no idea how the health states worked, so when I went into a KYF to test things with some friends and my killer friend picked me up and slammed me on a meat hook, it was quite the surprise. Now it seems so normal, but it's funny thinking about what it was like for me back then.

  • Would you call Mario Party a competitive game?

That guy is right, you made a mistake basing anything on rank when you're doing a test of something on DbD.
