It's also practically a death sentence to try to do against a sentient Nurse.

Is this... A troll? I legitimately haven't seen a take that's so detached from reality in a loooong time.
-
Wow. So many people so quick to say "take a break" or whatever to an obviously hyperbolic post.
Gotta love it.

Because "boring" is code.
It's why the word pops up so much.
I hope it's not code, because that means people have been interpreting what I say wrong. I've complained that certain things are boring, even if I don't think they're necessarily OP.

That's so weird, I wonder if it's actually a bug. That sounds hilarious though. I was waiting to get those customizations because I think they're really cool, so I had no clue, but I'm looking forward to be a Julie with a beard. :)

What's the point of the Devs giving out clues if they give out clues for every killer. Horror movies have always been a game of deduction, where the director and writer give out clues to the identity of the killer. Look at the movie, The Thing by John Carpenter, it had clues throughout the movie that would let you figure out who the thing was and wasn't. The clues were subtle, but they were there. That's why players in DBD gets into trying to figure out the clues for the next killer, because they're horror fans at heart and horror fans like intelligent, well put together mysteries. If you throw fake clues everywhere, it's no longer fun for the player base because you're taking the "lame" way out. You're not intelligently placing subtle clues, you're just vomiting up red herrings everywhere and ruining the game for everyone.
Sounds like a problem for the devs, not me. They're the ones that said they're gonna do it.
Also, as to why they would do it, it's probably just to throw people off and divert their attention from what they're really doing. Just like in horror movies how sometimes there will be somebody you suspect to be the bad guy, but really ends up being innocent or ends up killed. I don't think it ruins the fun for everyone. Some people like it and feel like it adds to the mystery.
-
Overrated? I don't think so. You're just kind of shooting yourself in the foot if you don't get the gens close together.
IDK why people are even saying anything about "it's boring." That's not even what the post is about. It's about the effectiveness of it.
-
Distressing Doc can cover a map with his blast, but only on like... The Game.
Anyway, they probably balance toward the high end of players because those are the players that are actually good at the game and can use tiles efficiently. When there's plenty of safe windows and plenty of pallets, then it really becomes obvious how strong survivors can be. Even if a survivor isn't at a good structure, a decent survivor will often be able to play something like an L-T wall. That's often how games are balanced: around the most skilled players.

I've asked that before, nobody has answered yet. Hopefully the fact that I'm mentioning this now will get someone to reply, but I doubt it.
I think mostly because of Paulie Esther, they literally said they were going to start putting out distractions for all the conspiracy theorists. Red herrings, if you will.

If it's such an advantage then why isn't everyone using shadow born. Oh yeah IT ISNT
Because it takes up a perk slot that could be used by a better perk. If it didn't take a perk slot, I believe yes, everybody would use it.
-
As was said before, don't camp pallets. You already know that though. :P
Also, you might've already noticed this too but he has an audio queue even from very far away while he's charging up his static blast. Use this opportunity to hop into a locker or run outside the edge of his terror radius, if you're close enough to do either one.
One other thing I don't see a lot of people say is that he's somewhat of a mindgame-able killer. If you give him the impression you're going to run for a pallet to try to drop it, you could just run even more and he'll lose distance on you. Or even sometimes you can get him to throw his shock in a certain direction he thinks you're going to go, and then you can go a different direction and end up dodging it sometimes.
I'm not a pro or Doctor expert necessarily but these are all things that I try to keep in mind when I go against him.

Are you a fan of unnerving presence? Which add ons do you find most effective? I feel like i may need to use +blast more.
I feel like some extra range is helpful in pretty much every game, but you don't exactly need the green one because you shouldn't be using it that far if you're using your blast mostly for loops. My personal favorite effect is the fake pallets because even if they disappear when you get near, sometimes that alone is enough to make a survivor run to a bad spot during a chase. That doesn't mean the other ones are necessarily bad, because they'll still screw with survivors and just generally make them uneasy.
I'm personally a fan of Unnerving Presence, and it's good to run if you don't have a lot of perks as well, but it's slightly build dependent (as I said earlier, you can get some lower terror radius effects and some higher ones, so it depends). The effect is good, but if you want to make the most out of it, probably pair it with Distressing and the one addon type that increases your terror radius while your blast is available.
Iridescent Queen and King are a little overkill, but still they're good to use for obvious reasons.
-
Doc is a really versatile killer in terms of builds. You can go for different blast shape, extra effects, longer range blast, low/high terror radius builds, slowdown builds, all that stuff. Just experiment to feel out what stuff you like, because there's a lot of good stuff that can work on Doc.
Also, another thing that you might already know but is crucial on Doc, is that you shouldn't be shocking all the time. There will be good pallets to play, and there will be pallets where it's better to just try to run it through brute force style so you don't waste time or mindgame yourself instead.
It's cool you're picking him up though, I'm sure you'll have a blast (no pun intended).
-
I'm not somebody who gets offended or will tunnel and facecamp just because somebody does something really mundane like flashlight blind me or DS me once or anything, but there are certain people that have been especially nasty, so I still enjoy the fact that I can see their names and give them the retribution they deserve.
Again, it's not just for simple things like teabagging or whatever, like some people get offended by. First reply to the post is a perfect example of what I'm talking about. It's very easy to remember people that purposely try to play like a douche by sandbagging or whatever. I think it only makes sense to give them a reason to avoid doing that. Another thing I'll gladly target somebody for is if I see them constantly trying to unhook their team mates in front of my face without Borrowed Time (farming them pretty much) and practically just not caring if it gets their team mate killed. One more example is if I've seen the person intentionally disconnect in the past.
Essentially, I don't like seeing people play like scumbags. As a result, I'm personally fine with survivor names being seen in the lobby. I like knowing that people have a reason to be afraid of being a scumbag.

If you would have read the second sentence of the post, I said..."WHY NOT AWARD THE POINTS anyway while still ending the game???" You don't "waste the killer's time" if you award the max struggle points and end the game. it's a win-win.
I read it. It just doesn't make sense to award points for doing nothing. If you struggle and get points I understand that, but not just getting points for not struggling.
Also this is like 20 days old, it's a bit late to be replying lol
-
I'm of the same mindset. I usually like to sort of squeeze a good amount of bloodpoints out of a match, because ya never know how long the next queue might be. Especially if it's a game where, say, I'm playing Trapper and hook somebody in the basement, and end up downing all 3 of the others due to traps and M1s around the basement. In a situation like that where the game just ends like nothing, I'll literally just let them reset and continue the game like normal, because I'm just thinking "wow I can't just let the game end like that after waiting however long for the match."
The players are usually pretty appreciative that I didn't just murder them within 2 minutes of the game starting lol
-
I haven't actually looked myself yet. I was going to soon (was going to log on and play) but if that's actually true, it's pretty disappointing. They both look good but I really wanted the Oni one specifically, and was hoping it wouldn't be auric cell only. They look like they have pretty similar qualities too, so it's weird having 1 and not the other. Darn. :/

And noed is still in every game i havent seen ruin in like a month.
I see Ruin all the time, and what you commented is exactly my point. It's still in every game, and they're still not gonna change it back.
Thanks for highlighting my point though.
-
This reminds me of that time when they changed Ruin and a bunch of people said "I'm going to run NOED every game until they change it back"
-
I think they should be delicate with the changes. I'm not gonna act like Trapper is top tier, but he's decently strong. You can pull some pretty dirty maneuvers with the traps, so I don't think he needs a ton of extra stuff, just as other people said maybe an extra trap to start by default or something.
-
I think a better question is what exactly people are doing that's toxic and making you upset.
-
I'm not saying you're exactly wrong but it also doesn't exactly take a genius to figure out what T.TV means. Plus, for people with longer names, it probably makes sense to shorten it like that anyway.
Personally I'm not even affected by it so I couldn't care less what happens. A lot of people don't know how to act properly to begin with, so I find it hard to bring myself to even want to look into a random Twitchy with two viewers just to watch that kind of behavior with camera.
I made that mistake one single time when I first started playing, because I wanted to exdplain to somebody I left behind that I was sorry that I didn't think I could save them and took the hatch. We were against a Trapper, had been 3 gen'd, and there was traps all over the place where the only other person alive (the streamer) had just gotten hooked. I knew where the hatch was, so not wanting to die, I ran over to the hatch and waited to get out.
I figured for no particular reason, I guess I was just feeling nice, I would try to just do something kind and go apologize. I went to the person's stream afterwards and went into the chat saying it was me and I explained that I was pretty new and there was traps all over and I didn't want to risk it since I wasn't confident in myself. The immediate response was for her to blast me in front of all her viewers and tell me that basically what I said was a lie because the killer was her friend or something and I was just "hatch camping." I was like ######### is hatch camping? She just told me essentially to just "shut the ######### up" and banned me from the chat.
For a second, I couldn't believe this tub of lard would be so ######### to just trash all over a new player like that, who's just trying to come in and explain that they're sorry and why they did what they did, and put them on blast in front of all their viewers (granted it wasn't too many, but it wasn't just some person with 2 viewers, they had a small group going). I couldn't believe it for a second, and then I remembered, "oh yeah, there's a reason I hate people." Never again.
So while it's kind of weird, I feel like that's a really low priority issue. It wouldn't be worth the resources for the result it would give.
-
TBH I don't care about the penalty. If there's a high priority middle gen I'm gonna rush that gen with or without others. I ain't trying to get 3-gen'd.
-
Simply put:
I love it.
-
Dude I'm not trying to defend the matchmaking or anything, because obviously the ranks don't match up well, but that honestly shouldn't matter when rank isn't indicative of skill. I can understand if you're like rank 20 going against all rank 1, but I see people even complaining about being purple or green ranks going against red ranks.
It seriously doesn't matter if you're good at the game. Devs are working on a new matchmaking system entirely from the sounds of it so why not just try to eliminate the problem by, I don't know, just playing the game more to catch up with those people? Too many complaints about the meaningless number next to somebody's name, and not enough effort put into people actually trying to play the game...
-
I usually say Nurse, but I'll change it up this time, because I can at least respect that she takes practice.
Two I hate personally, for the same reason partially, are Hag and Michael. I dislike going against them because it's already easy for my team to screw me over against any other killer, but it's just worse against these two killers.
Any time I play against a Hag, no matter how high my rank is, I will go to unhook somebody and they'll always immediately pop a trap underneath their feet even if I crouch all the way up to the hook to avoid popping it. It's so frustrating when I save somebody like that just for them to practically kill themselves or even me. It's not uncommon for me to see a Hag run Make Your Choice too, so now even though I feel bad about it, I just try to avoid saving people against Hag and just gen jockey and hope that people just live long enough for the gens to get done.
Against Michael, it's kind of the same thing with Hag, but in a different way. I feel like instead of popping traps, against Michael my team mates will undoubtedly end up getting practically all their juice drained within the first minute of the game, and then often times I'm the one that ends up eating the punishment for it when he ends up going T3. All that aside, I just find some of Michael's addons kind of annoying. Like with the rabbit plus Monitor, you practically can't hear him coming until it's already too late, even if he's in T2 not T1. Or with the mirror, even though it's interesting and different, I always see the Michael bringing a Lery's offering so it's just constantly not being let relax the whole game, and just sitting there while the Michael waits around the corner for me to get closer. Not exactly engaging gameplay for me.
Every single time I play against these two killers, it always feels like my team mates are intent on trolling or getting me killed.
-
While I struggle to call myself a "main" of anything (I've never liked sticking with one character) I do play him probably more often than a lot of the killers there are.
I don't think his "potions" are as difficult to aim as you think. It is admittedly a little hard to hit the bottle itself if you're throwing it upward in an arc, but that doesn't matter too much because it makes the cloud around the impact when it breaks. As long as you can aim that area of the cloud, it's actually not bad. A lot of people compare Clown to Freddy and I can see why, but I enjoy Clown mostly because of the fact that he can place his slowing zones in ways that Freddy can't, by throwing them over walls, ahead of the survivor (if you can aim it well enough to get it in between them and a pallet or whatever), and also by breaking a bottle over a room (like shack) and having the cloud slowly float and spread downward. He also has that added benefit of obscuring survivor vision which might not seem like much, but when reaction time is important, being able to see clearly actually makes a difference sometimes.eawd
I've had some "luck" playing as him. He's obviously not as effective as other killers could be sometimes, but I think people give him a little more crap than he deserves. Once you know how to arc his bottles decently, you'll probably find some success on him. Don't be afraid to look a little stupid when you're trying to test out the arcs, that's how you'll learn. Kind of like Huntress. Different amounts of charge, different angles (high and low) can be used in different situations.
Anyway, I encourage you to try him more. I don't think he's as bad as people make him out to be. Good luck if you decide to keep trying. :)
-
I haven't used those very often, so is there certain situations where it's beneficial to have more or less fog? I can think of maybe short killers being more hidden from fog, like Hag, but then I also imagine it would help survivors be more stealthy. At the same time, I always feel like if I bring the offering that creates less fog, it could help me see survivors sure but then they can also see me a lot more clearly. I never really know what to do with them, so as a result I just never really touch them and they just sit there collecting dust.
-
Was on hatch, waiting for the last survivor other than myself to run out the exit gate so I could get out through hatch, but my team mate was one of those people who stay in the exit gate until the very last second of EGC, so I just died to EGC standing over the hatch while he ran out last second.
If I remember correctly, the killer was letting us go for free too. I don't know how, but people always find new ways to surprise me and make me hate people even more.
-
I'd like the feature but only if it took about half a second to a second. It would only be slightly less than a killer takes to kick the thing, and it would fix the problem of somebody being able to run by and barely have to stop moving to touch it and stop it from regressing. I wouldn't want it too long, at max maybe about the time it takes to sabotage, because I don't think each kick should make the survivors take like 5 extra seconds just to get the generator to stop regressing each time. Also similar to sabotage, I think the bar should require commitment to fill all the way (like how when you sabo a hook midway and stop, it resets the bar) so again, people can't just run by and tap it and expect it to keep regressing.

That what i do on a survivor i plan on playing around with for awhile i only just level up. Take Plunderers and Ace in the hole, loot some chests. Hope i get something that is not a brown toolbox. Than try my hardest to escape or in some cases, get a key, die, keep the key due to it spawning with a certain add on. That or die but watch the match, as my team mates use the key i looted to escape. It's like extra blood points. Which is why i like to call these matches stock up runs.
If i could do that on certain killers that are more add on heavy, like ghostface. Yeah i would do it in the heart beat, in hopes of getting some free chewed pens or at least stocking up on them.
If only :')
Yeah I know exactly what you mean. When I play with those items, it's super common for me to find at least green items (bless Commodious) and sometimes even purple or pink. Things like keys can be game changers. Also, even if it ends up being a brown medkit or something, with Ace in the Hole you can end up getting a styptic from it and it doesn't really matter because it's good anyway. Love me those two perks together.
-
To be honest, even starting out the game as a newer player, I always was under the impression that this game has a "save your own skin" sort of theme to it. It just always seemed, and I also heard from others, that obviously it's good to help people, but you can't always do that and sometimes it's better to just leave. I had preferred the thought of the thrill of being chased when I first started, but solo survivor has quickly spoiled that feeling.
Either way, I still play survivor and I had a game yesterday where I had a daily ritual to escape and survive with Jake Park, so that's what I went in the game to do. As the last gen popped in that game, there was myself and 2 other survivors still alive, and one of them was getting downed as the last gen finished. I go to open an exit gate on the opposite end of the side that the survivor got hooked on (same side, just other end of the map) and then the last survivor gets found and knocked down with NOED, so now I have an exit gate open right in front of me, and two team mates hooked on the opposite side of the map and a killer (I think it was Billy) with NOED up. What am I expected to do there? All I knew was that I had my daily ritual to do, and I wanted to get it done and over with so I left. Then as the game is ending, the person who got whacked by NOED tells me "######### you huff" and I just say, "What did I do?" and I get no response.
It's just like... I guess what I'm saying is from what I understand, this isn't a "team" game as much as it's just a "multiplayer" game and while it's nice and smart obviously to save people when you can, but it's not always easy. It's weird because when I go against survivors when I play killer, they're usually saying "sorry I couldn't save you" or something and get a reply like "It's ok" but when I play as a survivor, I get stupid crap like that story above: my team mates just flaming me because I made the mistake of wanting to escape while I'm the only one unhooked and the killer is boasting a NOED.

And the add ons? The ones lost after a match?
I'm not trying to argue about the BP itself here but to be fair survivors have both Plunderer's and Ace in the Hole. And Pharmacy if you count that. Killers don't have something to just get the equivalent to free items. If there was a perk like that where I could just kick a chest like a generator and pick up a free bonus item I can exit the game with, I'd be equipping that left and right.

How can you build skill when you literally just do gens and leave?
By getting out the game and moving onto your next one where there's like a 99% chance you won't get a "farming killer."
-
I'm not even saying this to be mean so please don't take it that way but...
You shouldn't be saying "I never trolled or looped the killer" or whatever. If you like living, looping the killer is a good thing. Don't let anybody tell you looping is a bad thing. That would be like saying shooting people in Call of Duty is bad. That's just kinda what you do in the game, ya know?

Hell, I'm almost convinced that my gameplay isn't nearly as much of a factor in game outcomes as survivor greed and screwups.
Had a game earlier with Wraith where I got a 2k. I never decloaked the entire match. Think about that one.
Bro I feel that so much. One of my first games ever playing Plague I should have had no kills, but I caught literally 3 survivors all hiding in corners in the same area with the same trick (puke until broken then M1). That's why solo sucks LOL
-
You totally missed out! You should have documented how many out of those 100 games your team mates were the cause of your death (directly, as in farming you off hook in front of the killer.)
I'd be really curious as to a rough estimate of how often solo survivors are getting screwed by team mates that are trying to be more lethal than the killer itself...
-
I don't think that slugging as a whole should be taken out of the game, because I agree with some other people that it's a strategy that has strengths and weaknesses.
That being said, I do think they need to add an option to give up when your bleedout bar is halfway gone or something like that. People are allowed to literally kill themselves off their first hook, and even accelerate the process by attempting to free themselves, yet people that are slugged have no option, unless they bring a situational perk (choking down on perk diversity), other than just crawl around on the ground and hope that one of their team mates can get them up. Both situations you'd need somebody to help you out without a perk (Unbreakable or Deliverance respectively) but the difference is, people on the hook can choose to take themselves out of the game while people that are slugged don't really have much of a choice.
I'm just saying, as much as I don't really mind waiting the 4 minutes, I still feel like it's kind of stupid that they'll allow somebody to kill themselves on the hook but not on the ground. This irritation is fresh in my mind too after just having gone against a Huntress who refused to pick me up until I crawled over to the hatch, just for her to kick it in my face. It's like the equivalent of having a survivor just sit at the exit gate or on top of the hatch and just tbag until the killer walks over, only to jump in. There's no reason somebody should have to just sit there while another person takes the game hostage like that.
Again to reiterate, it's 4 minutes so whatever, big deal. It doesn't bug me that much. I just think it's kinda weird allowing one and not the other. I would even be fine if they kept dying state as it is, and forced people to stay on hook and not allow them to kill themselves. Whatever would make it consistent, I would like that.
-
Yeah, like other people said: As much as that sucks, it's really not in BHVR's power to do anything about that. That sounds like a situation that should be escalated to a higher authority than BHVR...
-

at least that locker grab challenge was easy, since i see at least 3 DS each match i play one of them is bound to jump into a locker. i dont see the point in farming, its very boring but i also dont see the point in being toxic in games either but both still exist. lets be honest though killers are more chill than survivors, i see far more friendly people playing killer even though im meant to be versing them and escape, you know those team mates that rage at you because they died even if you have one more than them... people can play to have fun or to try do well, either way it shouldnt result in being toxic or horrible to someone else, if youre good be good without being horrible. i personally wont save toxic players, i dont care if its their first hook or we lose, i will not help someone who tries to bully others. its a game, everyone wants fun, some may struggle at things some may not. if you dont wanna farm dont farm, back out if you get a message pregame or just rush ingame and get out or die on hook, rank means nothing and you should play for fun
I like your comment, genuinely.
I don't feel like people have to like farming, but it's sad how many people get legitimately upset over the fact that people want to get a challenge completed easily instead of trying to grind out game after game, or if a couple bloody party streamers are popped and people just wanna get like 100k+ bloodpoints in one game. Like honestly, it's just sad that people will cry about having to do a gen for a few minutes and get out the game. I almost never run into killers that are straight farming and doing nothing else, so it's not like there's just farming killers running rampant all over and just ruining the game. Again, people don't have to like it, it's just something that people do, and I even understand it to an extent. This game just has some parts where you don't want to sit there and grind it out, and you want to get those parts over with so you can actually go tryhard and sweat. I don't think a lot of people would farm if there wasn't such a grind to go through in this game.

Do people even use their topics to outline the actual topic of their post anymore?

The only reason you should dislike chest-defender Bubba is if you're the kind of person to whine that somebody wants to farm. So if you only want "regular" games, and don't care what kind of fun anybody else wants to have, then something like this would probably bug you.
If you're like me and just like to play games to have fun and maybe build up a little bit of skill here and there, something like this shouldn't bug you.
