  • I'll usually let survs finish a glyph. Unless they've BMd me. Reap what you sow. I don't see any other reason to stop them because I'm still going to get my hit/down. Only people who'd do that are the "win at any cost" sweaty types or trolls who just like deliberately like pissing people off.

Cause ngl as survivor it bugs me when killer double hits me on a glyph, like I'm happy to give killer a free down if I'm going for my glyph, but when you're trying to do it and they double hit you from healthy that's kinda unnecessary. Like you can literally wait 3 seconds, plus you wouldn't have had that down if I didn't stop for the glyph.

Also damn, killer mains getting triggered by this post lol

Huh, I guess the language barrier might then explain the total lack of endgame chat. Or is that per-platform only?

Per platform. On xbox I can't chat with PC or PS4 players. In fact we don't even have an endgame chat. Idk about playstation though. Tbh it wouldn't be great. Typing using a controller isn't great.

  • I think it was a rift outfit for michaela in the last rift. That might be why it isn't in the store

  • Spoiler alert. Knight without his helm on looks like this

    784118c839c3a7461ef8639b326b4c23.jpg

  • Yh after playing against him yesterday and escaping every time. Definitely needs to hide the green orb and the detection range of his minions. Then they could actually surprise people and maybe get a hit

  • @ProfessorDunwich said:

Wraith can be light burned, Clown's yellow bottles can make Survivors faster, and now grabbing the banner/standard from the Knight gives benefits.

Wraith is active camo'd practically all the time. If you can spot that and have a torch then you deserve to land a stun.he can clear so much distance and be stealthed.

If clown could self haste only himself as well as slowing only survivors then he'd be pretty insane. His power needs a downside, hasting and curing survs of intoxication is reasonable and rarely happens.

Knight, well idk what his balance will be like but survs need a way out of these chases with his followers.

  • The forums will be filled with players who are at higher skill levels. And those are meta perks. So yes they will see a lot of use, because they are good. And killer mains will whine about it because they always want a 4k every single game.

I don't have an issue with either perk if used legitimately. Dead hard hackers are an issue, subtle cheat that's pretty easy to get away with but it's not a big wnough issue to killswitch the perk.

Dead hard is so easy to bait out if they killer knows what they are doing. I was playing with a friend who was a brand new player in a custom to help him get used to killer. After describing the tactic to him he was able to efficiently bait out a deadhard on his first try. That perk requires good skill and timing to use. 0.5 seconds is a tiny window and you have to predict the killers swing or be very fast on the reaction time when you see the lunge animation.

CoH is likewise useful but it's not the broken mess these killer sweats say it is. The self healing is slow and if you run sloppy butcher it's practically a slowdown perk. The only time I have reall issues with it in a killer game is when I'm trying to hold down a 3 gen situation. And being honest? Survs NEED a counterplay in that situation because it's really not fair to make that an auto win for killer.

I play survivor and killer roughly equally so I want to see the balance work for both sides. With my swf we have a reasonable survival rate. Like maybe 40-50% averaged over the 4 players. And CoH gives us breathing space,it feels like we'd die an awful lot more without it. Which would make the game extremely unenjoyable. I don't use DH as much as I used to but it's still a handy perk and I do get some good value out of it but likewise I also miss a lot of triggers too. Neither perk is broken.

The main issue is killers who can't counterplay these perks ramp their mmr up by clubbing new players and then end up against sweaty prestige 30 swfs. They get owned once or twice then come on here complaining about the perks they see the most. A game shouldn't be balanced based on the top 5% or even 10% of the mmr bracket. Because this game is intolerable enough for newer players on the survivor side. CoH is an essential perk for players like that. DH less so, but it's so easy to counter. I much prefer coming up against DH to sprint burst or balanced landing as exhaustion perks. Because I cannot counterplay those in any way, i am relying on the surv to mess up by running into a wall or something.

  • Devouring the wiki content to learn bout the game. Watching streams pf the ptb for wesker.

First game as demo, 4k on coldwind. Then trapper on macmillans 3k slugged and bled out one to death to do a daily ritual which required a mori ๐Ÿ˜… noob mistakes

My first surv games were awful, trapper on macmillan estate. Got shredded. First game I actually survived, was against wraith on red temple yamaoka estate. Wraith was simply farming us. Got double hooked pretty quick then i was kept injured the entire game. Eventually he just let us go. Bit of a hollow win lol.

  • It's 2 add ons to make it work. And it's still a lot weaker than huntress iridescent axe head addon.

I don't think it needs changing.

Maybe make it a token based thing? Like every instance the survivor reads your aura, for 10 seconds the survivor cannot read your aura, then if its constant reading like kindred just keep the aura hidden until it stops being read.

That makes sense. Like a killer reverse Distortion sort of thing.

  • Wouldn't it be predatory awareness?

And interesteing idea, but a bit niche though. And some of the perks would react weirdly. Like kindred.

  • Should be interesting. Not buying the killer. But looking forward to playing against him. New surv looks good and new map is always a good addition.

  • I can get bahind this, i like to run the odd hex but if I run one feel like I have to run one or two more to protect it like hex undying or retribution.

Maybe they could make it so killers can replace hexes if they get cleansed and manually apply them to a new dull totem. Obvs not for trap hexes like haunted ground or retribution.

Shouldn't be too OP because killers need to find another totem, perhaps make it take a bit of time to apply. And have a condition that ends the hex permanently like hex:ruin has. Like when a surv dies the hex is removed from the game. Or for stuff like devour hope after one mori it is removed.

  • Lol, ironically they are the one who is breaking the rules by griefing, sandbagging you etc.

I mean I get that challenges are frustrating. I get a tad more ragey if I can't get one done. But I'd never get like that with a teammate. Sounds like a 12 year old with poor impulse control and anger issues ๐Ÿคฃ if it was an adult that's even sadder.

Especially over such an easy challenge too. Like who cares if you want to get it done quick, 8 chests in one match is basically impossible.

  • Nice one. There's LOT of them and some of them are dead hard if you'll excuse the pub. Well done OP ๐Ÿ˜

  • ^^ this.

I love twins, cool backstory, interesting gameplay mechanics but I hardly ever play them. They are just too slow, against a halfway decent team you have very little chance. Unless you play super toxic you're gonna get gen rushed so easily.

They could really do with a buf. Just speed up the switch speed or something so they don't lose so much time just getting a surv on hook.

  • Well I'm glad they did. Only started playing in august and wanted that michaela outfit the second I saw it lol.

Survivors: Circle of Healing. I hate that perk with a passion.

Killer: Probably Starstruck. I absolutely abhor this perk. No, I don't mean Starstruck Nurse. I have been on both sides of it on Spirit, Slinger, and Wesker. This perk is absolutely disgusting.

Yh circle of healing is a funny one. I don't mind it too much personally. I think it gives low and mid mmr players a fighting chance which they sorely need. But with a co ordinated sweaty swf it can feel very OP. personally once I figure where the boon is I sometimes use it as bait after injuring players. Because you know exactly where they'll head.

  • Hatch offering. I always use these when I need a hatch challenge. A lot of killers either forget about it or are simply too far away to head you off at hatch after getting that last hook. Works more often than not.

As for gameplay, it is unfortunately just about playing stealth and throwing the game. Best if you have a willing swf who'll help you by suiciding on hook and baiting the killer away from the hatch spawn location. Locker hopping, crouching about.

Perks I'd go for left behind obviously, urban evasion, lightweight and Distortion. If you really want to sweat it bring a red key with blood amber and prayer beads. Or maybe milky glass if you're feeling confident about opening hatch with it.

  • Yh it's about the money. Not our enjoyment. As long ss the feng min mains get more cosmetics to buy the game stays afloat.

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/354998/sometimes-its-the-survivors-own-fault-that-their-teamamte-gets-tunneled

If you die within 10 seconds from when you get unhooked the unhooker* should loose points. You are getting killed by your team mate. It's not tunneling, it's stupidity.

The only time that could physically happen is if the play being unhooked is afk. The endurance will give them plenty ofntime to to clear distance from the killer before another hit

  • You'll always find whiny little children online. A lot of them just live to try and make other people feel bad by spewing their salt and bile whether they win or lose. Just gotta ignore them and get on with it. Play the game for your enjoyment and roll with the punches.

  • @AcelynnBen said:

k not to sound rude but

are we really complain about a free win here?

i know you are trying to have fun but if the killer is afk they are most likely lowering their mmr because they are sick of everything

It's not much of a win though. If killer AFKs it's pretty much impossible to get any altruism points which cuts your possible BP by a quarter and makes it difficult to pip up.

Plus I kind of, you know.. actually want to play that game. A killer not engaging means I sit there, hold m1 and have to spend a good few minutes sitting in the killer's TR with my thumb up my ass to get boldness points. Not what I'd call engaging gameplay.

Use it with out first using exaustion perks, ect. when you get the on hit sprint.

Or pair it with perks like lightweight ect.

    Its still a strong perk.

I do. I've been using it alongside quick and quiet to get my escape chases in a locker achievement. Just 2 off now lol but it's taken a while.

Thats the point 100% was op and they don't want a stealth perk to be a chase perk.

Oh yh I don't want it to be 100% no pain grunts is OP. But it shouldn't be deactivated on exhaustion.

  • I mean trapper is pretty weak. But he can ruin a team with a basement play in killer shack. Done it myself on midwich too, trap the chokepoint where the pallet is and you got easy downs. It gets even nastier if you run the addons to injure on a trap disarm and to down survs that self escape from bear traps.

Tbh trapper needs a strength, since he's considered a pretty weak killer.

It's odd that people discuss adding a ranked mode as if it isn't a solved problem in other games. Yes, it would split the playerbase. That's what it's supposed to do. Players willingly queued up for 10 minute DPS queues at the end of Overwatch 1, and plenty of people still still queued up for Quickplay. I agree that splitting the playerbase is a weak argument, and I'm not sure why the devs themselves trot that one out.

I think the reality is that the devs don't want to manage the game from a competitive perspective. They know how busted so many things are and design it that way. They don't want to give themselves more work in this case, and I kind of get it. Because suddenly the meta of the game actually develops beyond the very basic level that it's currently at on the survivor side for pubs if a ranked mode is added. And suddenly the balancing of killers becomes pretty granular. Not many players know you can make a full revolution around Father Campbell's against Hag just from holding W up the map walls with Overcome if you start running at the edge of her 24m and only use shack pallet.

So, yes, queue times might be a concern for the devs. But I'm betting that it's all the additional work that ranked mode introduces that they're trying to avoid.

This makes sense. They seem to put all their effort into releasing new chapters because it gives them 4 solid cash injections each year. Instead of adding "free" gameplay changes to the game to improve the players experience.

Like any number of things, VC for soloq, new playlists to split competitive and casual players. All have been suggested and we get weak excuses about balancing and splitting the player base. Simple, true answer is they keep adding new chapters and new perks that break the game balance. Because that is what makes them money.

  • @Sharpefern said:

But the pipping system isnt based on kills by any means necessary. If you dont let survivors heal you have issues with chaser, same thing with camping. If you dont hook enough times devouts an issue. If you are doing most of your work at end game with noed or something then both chaser and gatekeeper.

Devout is an issue anyway since it's bugged. It's impossible to get iridescent atm.

  • Idk i think trapper is fine. Games I've played with him it's all about the planning. Set up traps on god pallet loops. Trapping choke points on the way to basement is a good shout too. Did that on midwich the other day and got like 3 basement hooks out of it lol.

  • Yh it sucks. Hate playing against tombstone. Even woth locker plays it's still pretty rough because you can't run a decent chase. Plus it can come as a surprise. I got deleted like 3-4minutes into a game in RPD once. Not a fun experience. Insta dying on no hooks with about 5k bp.

Is that a way? A good deal of the time I load in at the same time as the other players.

That usually means they are a SWF. or someone has just dodged their lobby.

Chase as hag is generally not recommended , but I understand completely what you mean.

Ah hag is a bit harder. I do like running the build where her mud phantasms have collision and a terror radius. I spam them around narrow doorways and god pallets. Love watching survivors panic when I'm on their tail and they get bodyblocked on a loop or doorway ๐Ÿคฃ they douboe back because they think I've ported to the phantasm but I'm actually still behind them. And slash

  • Im pretty glad sometimes I'm on xbox, since I can't see the end game chat I feel I'm spared a lot of the salt lol.

  • I prefer medkit squads to a set of 4 brand new parts. Just commit to those chases. They can't heal if you down and hook them ๐Ÿ˜ˆ

  • Best way to tell is in the initial lobby

If they load in at the same time. Probably a swf.

  • Yh individual mmr on killers would be so nice. Learning new killers is tough when you end up against mad good survivors. And i enjoy playing weaker killers like deathslinger. And would rather not have to sweat so hard just to get a 2k.

  • @LiveBritishReaction said:

What other non-horror crossovers would you pick to be in this game, if you absolutely HAD to choose?

Personally I think the AoT crossover was a bit silly and kind of fell flat in terms of content (though that menu screen and music were awesome), but since DBD is now venturing beyond horror with its crossovers, with For Honor, AoT, and now PUBG, I figured it couldn't hurt to throw around wishful fanservice for more not-so-scary stuff that you or I love to make it into the game

Me personally, I would absolutely die if one of the killers got a legendary skin that turns them into Vergil from Devil May Cry, specifically the DMC5 iteration. I could see them doing some really cool stuff with it too. Like, imagine a Vergil skin for Legion that has dynamic music like in DMC, where the music gets more intense the more Frenzy stabs you have. Or a Vergil skin for Oni where his Blood Fury look is Vergil's DT form. Or a Vergil outfit for Knight where instead of summoning the guards, he summons the three demons V uses in the game.

Plus, well, you get to play as VERGIL and a playable Vergil is always dope as hell. I for one wouldn't say no to getting pallet stunned to the tune of Bury the Light.

Hot fuzz. Idk if many people will know it. But it's a spoof horror comedy movie in the u.k. About a police pfficer who gets packed off to be sergeant at rural town where the town council have this underground cult devoted to murdering anyone who messes with the towns image, i.e. hoodies, beggars etc.

The killer could be a legion/ghostface alternate skin. And having one or both of the 2 main characters as survivors would be ######### dope.

  • @SweetbutaPsycho said:

I tried to play some of the weaker killers for the last couple of days. Tried some clown games, some sadako games etc. The picture is literary always the same. These matches start mostly relatively normal but as soon as survivors realise that I can't really keep up with them 1 or 2 survivors go absolutely balistic on me with toxicity. Like in 90% of the games were surivvors that were constantly jumping in and out of lockers, teabagging whenever they could and writing long essays on why this was easy in endgame chat and many other things.

I find this behaviour pretty weird since most survivors complain that they only go up against the same killers but if they get a weaker killer they apparently try to take revenge for all the nurse games they had in their life.

I at least will go back to playing stronger killers like nurse, blight and huntress again because it just sucks to be completely toxed at and not being able to do anything about it.

Some survs get real cocky for someone in lunging distance.

But yh, I find survs are pretty quick to bm when you struggle against them. Thankfully in my killer games I've got to the point where if someone bms me I can usually tunnel them out before gens are finished. Very satisfying.

Twins are an incredibly powerful killer when played right, victor is unloopable practically.

    Word.

I love playing twins. They are also absolutely amazing for punishing bully squads. Because you can slug and defend so effectively with them.

  • @Grigerbest said:

So let's say... You're playing a killer, you're really good at this killer, you're making some insane moves and reads, you're trying your best to get this jucy 4k, and by the end of the match: "What a tryhard, get a life." or "Imagine sweating like a pig."

So playing really good, apparently is a bad thing? I really don't understand when someone using a word "tryhard" as an insult.

If I see a really good survivor jucying me for 1-2 minutes and playing without any mistakes... I always complimenting this survivor in the end-chat. No matter how much he\she T-bags me here and there. Like... Why would I call him\her a "tryhard"? He\she is a really good player.

I understand no one likes to lose, but if you complimenting no matter which side for a good plays, you actually can cheer up this person or even make their day. (Yeah, ofc)

"I know - I know... It's because of the salt, but still..."

I think we should compliment a good plays like it should be. Not insult a good player with a weird word: "Tryhard".

It's just the immutable law of gaming. Anyone worse than you is a ######### tier noob, anyone better than you is a no life sweaty tryhard who ruins the game for everyone else.

Most gamers believe they are at the perfect skill level between casual and sweaty lol.

Yea, but then more people will run Tenacity and make it harder for the killer to keep track of you and the one that's hiding. Throw in Inner Strength for a quick and hidden heal and hopefully killers would stop doing this so much. Hopefully. Maybe?! ๐Ÿ˜…

Won't help when you are last surv left alive. Im talkin exclusively when killer downs last surv to specifically make them bleed out.

  • @Huge_Bush said:

No, it sucks, but it's not reportable. Don't worry, poopy players like this are ruining slugging for the rest of killer players and have caused BHVR to look at fixing it. Currently, they were working on base-kit unbreakable where you can get up on your own after 45 seconds. They had a test not too long ago but have been silent since then.

I don't think basekit UB will help in this situation though. If a killer has you slugged as last alive they can let you self res then instantly down you again. Just stretches out the whole process even longer

  • @LuthirFontaine said:

It should be as its obviously bm

Edit thinking bout it yeah report it. If they get hit with so many reports BHVR might start doing something.

Mm BMing isn't even reportable. You arent going to get anyone banned because the teabagged or torch clicked loo.

Are there any plans to buff survivors?

The 100% blood points for survivors is literally always active so it is pretty clear no survivor wants to play anymore.

I used to play quite a bit but now am down to once every 2 weeks, the infamous patch pretty much ruined the game for me.

Whenever I do play now will lose 90% of my games because tunnelling is rampant, although eventually, the game will feel bad for me and pit me against a totally new killer so i can have one boring win.

So am asking the original question because I want to know if I should bother logging in once every 2 weeks or just give up on DBD completely if there are no plans to reach a semblance of balance.

    Survivors ๐Ÿ‘ don't ๐Ÿ‘ need ๐Ÿ‘ buffing

Out of interest do you play solo q or swf?

Because solo q does need a bit of rebalancing. The actual game mechanics are fine but a solo q team is so much worse than even a semi competent swf. It's all about the communication and coordination. You can have someone who is an absolute god at looping but if other survs don't repair (or even repair the wrong gens and set up a 3 gen) it can throw the game real easy.

  • I ######### hope not. I'm already fed up of dealing with PC players on M and K. I don't want to see more of it added to the mix.

  • @FrodoTbaggins said:

Just finished a match against a SWF. Was going pretty good and managed to get a 3k. Went to the TTV's stream to say hi and gg's. Before I could even begin typing I heard all sorts of crude language from the whole group centered around how I was a toxic killer for X, Y and Z. Needless to say, I left, but it got me thinking...I know everyone isn't like this, but is this the general consensus among people when they lose at this game? Do I need to not hook survivors quickly? Do I need to allow someone to loop me a bunch before I down them? Isn't the objective to win?

I need to know so that I can be a kind killer.

Some people will just be toxic no matter what if they lose.

The way I play killer is I'll start by actively avoiding less popular tactics such as tunneling/proxy camping. Basically I just haul ass away from a hook when i hook someone.

If survs gen rush I may tunnel to guarentee a kill and try to swing the game in my favour. And if it's 4 survs alive, 1 gen left and no visble 3 gen I will absolutely facecamp to get 1 kill.

But on the other hand when I'm doing well and the survs are clearly struggling I'll be nice. Spread the hooks nice and even, stay away from hooked survivors. And long as i don't have any challenges for 4ks or adepts to get (provided survivors haven't BMd of course) I'll usually let one maybe sometimes two or the survs go at the end.

Long story short just mirror how the survs play. If they sweat? Then get sweaty. They reap what they sow. But if they are clearly struggling just cut them a little slack and farm a bit. Everyone gets more BP, more pips. Everyone's happy.

I find giving hatch to last surv particularly is nice since you don't gain much from that 4th sacrifice anyway with the devout emblem being bugged. And it means a lot to a surv when killer allows them hatch/gate in the end game.

Mainly just try to avoid the sweaty tactics early on. Tunneling/facecamping someone out at 5 gens is totally unnecessary and just ruins their experience because it just prevents them from playing. Plus it's the hallmark of a new or subpar killer.
