Seriously, the Perk is not fine.
And I mean the Perk and as a Boon.
Ok, let's just say this:
A Perk that grants entire team a "double-buffed" Self-Care, due to it using 50% Self-Care instead of 35% one, that grants a Healing boost similar to Botany Knowledge, stacks with Med-Kits, unlike Botany, it doesn't have efficiency penalty.
Would've been more managable if it was one-time use, right? So why do I say it also fails as a Boon and also... Everything around Shattered Hope.
Let's just look at other Boons.
Boon Perk is meant to be placed closer to action between Killer and Survivors. It takes time, timing and some other knowledge to set-up. In addition, they don't grant any big time-saving buffs.
Comparsion:
Normal Boon Perk:
Needs some skill expression and can put on "negative" time gained.
Circle of Healing:
You don't need nearly as much skill to use it and almost always gives you time neutral or positive when used.
Yeah, don't worry, it's so fine...
"But whatabout Shattered Hope?"
Just before anything, Perk is fine.
Reminder, you place Circle of Healing far from action so Survivor can run into the corner for very quick heal.
So Killer still has to go out of the way to destroy it, could be Blessed few more times, that's still additional work to just counter 1-2 Perks out of potential 16.
Don't forget, some maps are bigger or have harder to access Totem spots.
So for Shattered Hope to counter CoH, the Killer has to mobile Killer who can still put decent pressure all-around, who can dedicate time to Snuff it. Huh, I wonder which Killer fits all these perfectly...
(*rweeeee*)
"So what if instead of trying to split pressure, Killer could just commit to chases? Then CoH wouldn't do as much, right?"
sigh
I shouldn't probably point out how many Maps are actually quite bonkers for Survivors and even if you fear you might not get a good map... Just use Map/Realm Offering. I'm sure you still have plenty of these.
"It was already nerfed few times."
Just look at the Nurse's history. Yeah, go figure.
"It's just funny."
Yeah, no. I don't think even certain Survivors have fun using it. I sincerely doubt it.
What was previously a way for Killers to pressure Survivors if Maps were bad? Split the damage. Now you cannot do that for over a year.
Now what's left? Playing high-Tier Killers who would care less about CoH?
Playing with 3-Gen Perks and don't even bother doing any real chase?
Seriously, real question: Can we finally do something about Circle of Healing? It really creates issues rather than fixes any in my opinion. And it has been like that before 6.1.0 happened. It was literally untouched from that update. Not even changing the base Self-Care speed from 50% to 35%.
Bahh it's really the only boon that is usable. And tbh it's pretty easy to find because of the sound boons make. I never see people run any of the other boons except mayyybe shadow step along with CoH.
As killer I really don't mind it, easy to find, thunderstrike sound to let you know someone has dropped it, and a practical air raid siren to help you find it. And if you don't snuff the boon makes great bait, injure someone, drop chase and then cut them off when they run for the boon zone.
The only time it irks me as killer is when I'm trying to hold down a 3 gen and don't have time to sniff out the boon. But tbh survs need an advantage in 3 gen situations. They suffer enough towards the end of the trial anyway.
If I was going to nerf it in any way maaaaybe drop the buff to speed healing other survs, but that's not really a big issue.
Tbh all hex/boons are a bit weak except CoH

This sounds hilarious. I should do one as well with a couple of friends !
It'll be a laugh. I imagine after a couple games we're going to end up with a lot of 4ks 🤣 christmas time for the killers

Idk, imo windows has high usage because it is an essential rather than OP perk.
It gives new players a fighting chance, truly experienced players don't need it because they already know the tiles far better than their home street I'd imagine.
I'd consider myself a medium level experienced player. (Started august 2022, 20 days playtime, and i usually go pretty hard on games I enjoy)
I still need Windows to run a truly effective chase. And I still get stomped by killers on the regular.

I don't play survivor very much, but the few times I do, the hatch is a huge relief--it lets me know that in the not-so-unlikely chance that my team is a total flop, I still have a fighting chance. I play killer much more often, though, and I don't think there's any sort of similar consolation prize for killers. Would it be necessary for killers to have one? What would a killer hatch look like?
Interesting idea, maybe killer could insta mori one surv tombstone style if 5 gens get finished with less than 4 hooks achieved and no previous survivor deaths.
-
I feel like anyone who isn't doing other stuff on christmas day of all days, certainly at this time, is going to be a fairly antisocial sweaty gamer.
Games will probably be a bit more chill this evening once all the drunk people get on after spending time with the family lol
I know me and my swf are planning a drunk by daylight session later. And I'm already 5 drinks in lol.

every match is always just a million tbags from survivors running windows pretending they have skill. Survivors have so many crutch perks, dead hard, adrenaline, deliverance, otr. Not to say killers dont have the same, noed, no way out, starstruck on nurse (slowdown doesnt count because its practically required to have a figthing chance)
while on the contrary killer has the highest goddamn skill floor its painful. no matter what you do there will always be 1 of you and 4 of them, making every single mistake you make a change between winning or losing. how about instead of nerfing tunneling, the by definition optimal way to play (besides camping), we remove genrushing? or buff soloq so swf isnt as oppressive?
in this thread:
lol get good
dh not crutch perk!
slowdown needs to be nerfed
wow skilless tunneler
Well if you lose games as killer your mmr will drop and you'll stop getting sweaty survivors. Surv definitely requires more skill than killer.
Bully squads are hugely unfun to play against until you know how to deal with them. I LOVE a good bully squad now because i end up getting multiple hooks quickly.
My tips: if you know one surv can run the jewels like a pro, ignore them. Take them down when they have to risk themselves by unhooking. Don't forget gen pressure, it's easy to get caught up in a chase for a long time, especially if the surv starts BMing you. But i switch targets rapidly all the time, catches people off guard. Make sure a surv is safe to pickup when you down them, there is often someone hiding nearby with a flashlight, face a wall or do a quick sweep and chase them away, do a 180 before you grab them to make it harder. Switch which hook you look like you're going for to avoid sabo and bodyblock plays. Short version, play unpredictably, if you just shift W after a surv and they have decent skills it'll take a long time.
Attitude has a lot to do with it too, don't let them goad you, tbh I only ever get toxic if a surv is overtly toxic. Which is reasonably rare. I usually let last surv go, helps slow my mmr gain, and i deliberately avoid tunneling/facecamping unless I'm really hard pressed and there's like 1 or 2 gens left. Survs want to enjoy the game too and tbh i only really feel I've failed as killer if I secure 0 kills. A 3k is perfectly fine for me. Especially if last surv knows I let them go.
Plus it's best if you main one killer, like for me, I can wreck most teams with demo, even with brown addons and farming perks.

I’m curious how people want her nerfed. I do agree she’s powerful, but I also think she’s totally fine base kit, so I believe her add ons need to be nerfed. However, most people seem to think that Nurse needs to be nerfed in a multitude of ways, whether that be her base kit, her add ons, her power needing a complete rework, etc. and I’m curious what people think could be done to make her more fun and balanced.
Simple, give her one blink and rework her add ons that change the number of blinks. And the achievement for triple blinking and grabbing.
Double blinking is a hell of a crutch for her. Since she can blink through walls, she doesn't need a second chance to hit people like wesker does.
-
It's only really the top percentage of survs that really cause this problem. And that is the reward for skill. Even when i play with my usual swf, (we aren't amazing, but competent) 4ks are the norm. The occasional 3k when one of us gets lucky and finds hatch.
Killer really has the power to control the match. My killer matches, if I put mind to it, I'll almost always be able to get a potential 4k. Potential because after downing them I'll usually let final surv go.
Example, if I run demo with iri add ons and mori offering. And i sweat it out, I've not had a bad game with that build. Even against teams that clearly have mad good loopers and serious team work. Their skill level doesn't matter, the build is so powerful that hey barely have any chance. But when I switch to a killer I'm not familiar with then i get ######### on. Even then if I resort to cheap tactics like face camping and tunneling I'll often secure kills on players much better than myself.
It's so easy to the point that unless I'm sweating an adept I never go for the 4k. Because it's boring and I feel like I'm ruining other player's game experience.
Game definitely isn't survivor sided.
-
Fun idea, it'd be great for lore drops. But yh a lot of effort that I doubt BHVR would go through. The game vould definitely benefit from alternate game modes. It starts to get stale after a while.

My point is that even in the case that you give VC for solo survivor, this won't be sufficient to balance things because the main difference between solo and swf aside being able to speak to each other on vocal is that they can choose their companions (swf can be composed of 4 equal skilled loopers, while randoms won't be at the same level because they aren't organized, not to mention that people have different goals in the match: dailies and tome challenges will also impact those choices) and choose both perks that synergize well with each other and items, perks and maps while solo can't (for doing a stupid example imagine a SWF who want to troll, making the match of a killer more suffering as possible and put 2 purple oak offerings, the offering that will force the spawn of the basement in the killer shack and the map offering for badham... Everyone with a anti slugging build and purple toolboxes for Sabo hooks in the absurd case that the killer find even a single hook around the school and you get an idea between the difference from randoms and swf and why they should be RELEGATED in custom matches)
I mean yeah, VC wouldn't bump solo q up to the same level as swf. But it'd certainly help make solo q a little more tolerable. And yeah you get bully SWFs but I find they are quite rare. No need to totally remove swf totally just because of a few obnoxious players. It would harm the game far more than help it.

honestly i doubt it at this point... i would make gladly this sacrifice if it would gave me a game more fun and fair... if your mates have the intelligence of a dead ant then it's not a killer's problem, nor a balance problem, but only a BASIC skill issue of your companions: would you nerf a killer like trapper for example if he keep 4k because the people in your team aren't even able to run in a straight line and/or throw down pallets after being hitted the 1st time, hiding all the time instead of doing gens and/or leaving you to die on the hook despite the killer being in the opposite side of map? Come on, this happen too much in solo q, but not because of the killer, nor the actual balance of the game, the problem lies elsewhere...
Struggle to see what point you are making here. Removing SWF would probably kill the game because people like to play with their friends.
And it's kind of to do with the nature of the game. Playing surv has a high skill ceiling, best way to fix it imo is VC for solo q so people can co ordinate a little better and newer players won't jump in locker every time they hear a hint of a terror radius.

Yea, there is a streamer on Twitter who does "toxic streamer" videos where he (without names or faces) shows some of the toxic stuff many streamers say and he is not at all devoid of content nearly daily. He also doesn't just go off of one video, maybe they had a bad day, but looks over all their VODS to see a pattern of behavior. These are active streamers on Twitch that are some of the most toxic I've ever seen.
Sure, you can choose to mute voice chat, which you know what? I play Smite and I have had the voice chat permanently muted in my settings since 2016.
The thing is, adding voice chat would not help simply because most are not going to want to take the risk. Yes, CoD has a bigger problem BECAUSE of the voice chat.
But it still has voice chat, and yet it is still a popular game. Toxicity is an issue and unfortunately most likely always will be, but my point is that is not the only thing it would bring. Every game I've played, COD included that has VC I've made good friends on. Hell in post game dm chats I've made good friends with players from the opposite team even when I've absolutely demolished them as killer. There are a lot of nice people out there, and the toxic ones are simply one click away from being excluded from your experience.
Dbd especially relies on co ordination and tactics, which is why solo q sucks so hard because there is almost no way to communicate with your team mates beyond pointing, beckoning or teabagging.
There is also the fact that VC for survivors would for sure be less toxic because they are on the same team and need to rely on each other to survive.
Edit: streamers also have a tendency of being artificially toxic because it gets them views and engagement.

Eh...Demo's problem has never been finding people (Sticky Lining+Whistle basically gives you map-wide sonar if you place portals right).
His problem is catching people - with how punishing Shred is to use compared to more recent, similar abilities. He's still a fun killer, but it feels like the game has just left him behind over the past year.
Guess I found that ability good for my playstyle, I'm pretty good at basic m1 chase, I tend to predict ppls movements and that helps me hit a lot of shreds. Hard on pallet loops but on vault loops and killer shack I do tend to shut ppl down a lot.

Hahaha yeah, I love Iron Maiden, but it doesn't take more than a few screams before they catch on. Double Iri Demo is still hilariously fun...I call it 'The Grabber'.
Tbh it's a little broken. I've never had a bad game using that combo. I usually let last survivor go but if someone is sweating it then last surv better hope hatch spawns on top of them or it's game over lol
-
I love running iron maiden on my iridescent demo build. The add on that reveals auras when you travel through portals. Some people figure it out and start jumping in lockers to avoid aura reads. They jump out, scream, easy down. Damned if you do damned if you don't 😁

before reworking the nurse they should relegate SWF in custom matches, then balance the game around normal killers, in that way you can safely rework the nurse, putting her on line with the rest of the roster... but we both know that this will never happen so...
For good reason. Stopping SWFs playing natchmaking games and earning BP would tank the player count. Because ######### playing solo q, all the killer nerfs in the world won't help me if my surv teammates have the brainpower of a bucket of wallpaper paste.
-
I mean it's just dbd syndrome. The vast majority of matches are a landslide one way or the other. And other team will usually accuse survs of bullying/genrushing and killers of tunneling etc.
The game is just inherently unbalanced and close matches are pretty rare.
-
Tbf it should be hidden by default. Then every survivor looks equal to killers and lobby dodging won't be an issue. It's frustrating because I have a prestige 100 friend and whenever we play with them the games are frustrating.
We get a looot of killers dodging our lobbies. And they have a tendency to get tunneled very hard and facecamped. Ironically they are good but not the mad cap super looper you'd expect from a prestige 100. Killer doesn't need that info. They already get enough from skins and items that they see in the lobby.

God no, in-game VC would be terrible. Most people wouldn't use it, and those that did would quickly learn not to. Seriously. I used to know a model who played Call of Duty, but she only played it in party chat with friends, and you had to BUY her PSN name which helped to keep her safe from trolls. Because the second she entered normal chat lobby, the misogyny was let loose.
Now, with how the Dead by Daylight community is just in the end-game lobby? No, no way in Hell I would ever use an in-game voice feature unless it was with a SWF.
You're talking about a wider problem with social gaming. CoD has a much bigger toxicity problem than dbd, and yet it still has voice chat. Even games as toxic as league of legends have chat functions for pity's sake.
Sorry to hear about the lengths your friend has to go to because of trolls. It's a problem I've seen a lot and I'll always call out people who act like that.
The tools are there to mitigate how unpleasant some people will be. And in all honesty I don't believe it'll be as bigger problem as people make out. Most of my dbd interactions are positive. Yeah the end game chat is often toxic af but that's usually because killer is talking to survs. If the VC is just mid match then most survs who do use it will be trying to work together. And the few outliers who are properly toxic will be muted and (provided they add a decent report/monitoring system) will be banned pretty rapidly. Even without reporting and banning, mute functions are easy to use. If I'm ever being verbally abused in a game I simply mute the offender, problem solved.

If it was any other dev I would agree with you but we talking about BHVR here and they have a track record of adding things into the game when they are not fully ready. Just look at this chapter for exp it was released with a bunch of bugs that broke the new map and other maps among a bunch of other stuff. I know they doing their best but at the same time, they have their plate filled with a long list of other things they doing and have to release a new killer every 3 months. Adding a VA system and a new reporting system to me would just end up being half-assed and rushed with bugs. I just think adding a ping system is much easier and does the same thing and is more time efficient than adding two whole new systems. Plus everyone would be able to use it no matter what. At the end of the day, this is how I feel, and tbh you not going to change my mind on it just like it seems I'm not going to change yours. Hope you have a blessed day
Tbh think a ping system is a little to OP because it gives a degree of accuracy for finding stuff like totems and gens that you'd not really get with VC. And sure there would always be bugs. But they are usually fixed with the subsequent update and the long term benefits to the game would be pretty decent.
But yh I'm not going to be convinced the other way either really so just got to agree to disagree. Have a good one.

Even streamers like Otz share my opinion on build in VC plus as it was already said but VC wouldn't help those who leave in EU since not everyone speaks the same language as they do in NA. Yes, there are always going to be toxic ppl but I much rather see BHVR force on another method that helps everyone like a ping system rather than a VC and new report system. As I said before there are ppl like myself who would never use VC bc they don't want to interact with randoms in a voice call for a few reasons(mine is Im really shy and just an introvert who doesn't like talking to ppl unless I know them). So a VC wouldn't do anything for me or others who are like myself. A ping system tho would help everyone and this new info thing they adding will also help everyone. I just don't think VC is a good fix to soloQ and will only lead to more problems rather than solving the ones we have now.
Also BHVR is super slow when it comes to major changes and I can tell you if they did add VC we wouldnt see a renew report system months or years after it was added. They just now adding small icons to survivor huds and that been asked for a while ago. They have thier hands full with making new killers every 3 months, balancing, map design and etc. So things come in pieces so I dont think its a far fetch idea that we would get a VC system before a repost system changes.
Like i said, a lot of ppl who live in EU speak enough english to make themselves understood in game. And sure it'd take time to add report/mute functions, so why would BHVR add vc before they were ready?
They could just wait until they have all the necessary work done before they release it. And even if you personally didn't talk, which is fair enough a lot of people don't, you could still hear other players and act on useful information they give. Even just one player in a team of survs talking could be very valuable in coordinating the team. And if it is just a 12 year old spewing rubbish? Muting someone takes a couple of seconds on an in game UI.
All they would need to do is take the time to sort out a report function and put something in place so they can access audio logs of the game. And not release VC until that was ready. As long as they put that in place VC would have little to no detriment as toxic people get muted and banned very rapidly. But it would be amazingly useful, especially for newer players. To learn from more experienced ones.

I don't think it's a weak argument when other games have much better ways to report toxic behavior. Dbd reporting system would need a complete overhaul imo if they did VC and even then I don't think alot of ppl would even use it bc a lot of us just dont want to talk to some random ppl and run the risk of being called names and ect. I mean look at the bubba face thing that happened last year. Something that was pretty harmless and kinda cool had to be completely removed from the game bc ppl started using it to hurt ppl of color. So adding in-game VC imo would just add more problems than solving them. I could easily see someone calling a David player homophobic slurs or a Claudette the n-word. I think a ping system and a command wheel with set commands would be a much better option.
Idk why everybody assumes that dbd would be adding VC and not changing anything else. There are always people who will be hateful little goblins. But people dropping homophobic/racist/sexist slurs etc, will get banned extremely quickly. As long as the report function is robust.
And the idea that dbd wouldn't overhaul their reporting/monitering system alongside adding VC is insane. Idk what PC is like but on xbox you have a report function and the ability to capture clips including audio to report to microsoft and they are pretty quick with the banhammer. I'd imagine Playstation is the same or similar.
PC I have no idea as there is no central body to report offenders to.

You just dont acknowledge the arguments against it. The biggest problem is that you have to buff killers for the information that can be relayed with vc, but in europe for example, voice chat does nothing, because you have lots of players from different countrys with no common language, and sometimes not even a common alphabet.
VC would do nothing for them, but still they have to deal with buffed killers. Or you dont buff killers, that then have to deal with vc groups in every match instead of just half of it.
I dont know where you are from, but i think most people in the us just try to ignore the language problem, because its not their problem.
I'm from the u.k. so i have had to play on euro servers a lot. Particularly on tera where i was locked to euro servers. And a lot of europeans speak enough basic english for vc to still be a useful function.

Anyone with experience in this game, your own fogwhisperers, and top content creators of this community will all agree that the solo queue experience in this game is freaking awful.
the fix is deadass simple. Bridge the gap between solo queue and SWF, then buff killer to make up for it.
Information is useless to SWFs, they already have all the information they need through comms, so giving solo queue information on the UI and through basekit aura reading would help solo queue so freaking much.
You should never have more than 1 person running to an unhook, you should never have someone randomly running into you while you're running the killer cause they had no idea you were even in a chase in the first place.
But instead, BHVR focuses on buffing killers, which only made solo queue even worse than it already was. Then they sit around and focus on band-aid fixing stuff like basekit BT and potentially basekit unbreakable...things that SWFs as a whole benefit way more from than solo queue players do.
And despite the majority of the community all agreeing that the state of solo queue is God awful, we get zero aknowlegement from BHVR, zero effort being put in to fix it, zero fs at all about the whole issue....it's been a problem for so long, and ignored for so long, that it's just become something people don't even talk about because there is zero hope for BHVR to do anything about it.
The only thing that even remotely came close was the UI changes that were proposed. But then the community managers here confirm it's not even on the list for the devs to implement...wow thanks guys...I mean I'm sure "streamer mode" was soooooooo much more important, I mean look how many people are benefiting from that glorious achievement ....🙄
Personally I think information perks at basekit would still buff SWFs. It's hard to make callouts in VC on dbd. Unless they are near an obvious feature like main building or killer shack. Aura reading would be a huge boon to SWFs that they really don't need.
You are on the mark though. Solo q is god awful and needs a buff that will not benefit SWFs. My personal suggestion is add in game VC. It would helps SWFs a fair bit and go some of the way to helping them co-ordinate a little better.
The arguments against it are pretty weak. People claim it will have a toxicity problem. (You know, like every game that has VC ever) well that is why there are mute block and avoid functions. And BHVR have said the game is not balanced around VC. Well SWFs get VC anyway, more so, now that discord is directly usable on the xbox and will be soon on the ps4. So it would be best to add it then adapt the balance for voice chat. The game can be a very fun social experience.
But atm it sucks for solo q. Especially at low mmrs. Killer is so much easier to play and new killers will always shred new survivors.
Edit: perhaps information basekits could be applied only to survivors that are not in a group. Should be easy enough to do.

Just wondering what are your thoughts and why would the 2nd last survivor that gets down loves to snitch on the last survivor when a killer tries to secure 4 kills (excluding those when the last survivor does nothing the whole game or sabotaging own teammates)?
Uh I'm pretty sure that helping killer out as survivor is a reportable, bannable offense. Working with the other team.
I mean if said survivor has spent the entire game locker hopping, staying away from unhooks, not doing gens and is just being willfully useless. Then I personally have no issue with someone throwing them under the proverbial bus if killer might spare them. I wouldnt do it myself, but regardless of the context, according to BHVR it is against the rules.
Someone did this for me as Demo once, a laurie pointed at a locker and inside I found an injured meg. Turns out it was her last hook and I sacrificed her. At the end of the game laurie was looking for hatch, we both saw it at the same time and I stopped and gave her the nod to let her go. In retrospect I should've downed her by the locker, checked it and then let the meg go. It was a pretty dick move of her to point put that meg, as I had no idea she was there.
-
God I hate self care as a perk. You have to be super careful with it. Heal too fast and it really cripples killers. Too slow and it's just a timewaster for survivors. Tbh i think the speed is fine right now. Dedicating 2 perks, self care and botany knowledge to being able to self heal at a reasonable speed is fine. It's a mad strong thing to be able to do and using 2 perk slots for that is fine to me.
It just makes me mad as survivor when you see all the noobs running around self healing and leaving you to go to second stage in solo q. It just effectively cripples your team because you spend so long sitting there playing with yourself instead of doing something actually useful.
Hence why I basically never play solo q. And anyone who runs it in SWF with me will be strongly advised not to.

Maybe its both.
Entity wipes memories of death, but keeps memories of escapes so that survs still fear of death but remember horrors of trial and with each of those escapes they loose hope that escape or even death is really possible (especially that in their perspective no killer ever trully managed to kill them).
That makes a lot of sense.
-
I agree it is super frustrating. Both as killer and survivor. As survivor it cripples your team and basically guarantees a 4k, and killers who notice and let a surv or two go after a DC are extremely rare. I notice it's often near the beginning of the game. Literally their first down people will insta ragequit. people who play on xbox that I am able to PM, I will always call out about it in PMs. I'm never rude, but they either ignore the messages or get super salty in replies. 🙄
As killer it also irks me. Easy games are soo boring and I feel bad for survs who are let down by rage quitting teammates. So I'll usually farm with the remainder but it happens a lot. And sometimes I just want to play the game properly you know?
DC penalties should for sure be much harsher. Yes some people have bad connections but if your connection is bad then get it sorted. And I think suiciding on hook should be stopped. I've made this suggestion many times before. But I think trying to self unhook should not progress hook stages.
This would have 2 benefits. It would prevent suiciding on first stage, aaaand it would make self unhooking builds viable. Because currently they are an actively harmful build for survs. You can stack 4 jars of lips, slippery meat AND Ace's luck perk. 2 perks per player and 4 offerings and chances are you'll still only be speeding hook phases along.
-
Rancor and devour hope let you mori without offerings. Rancor is probably the easiest to get a mori with.
-
She has literally the highest killrate across all MMRs. And every time I come up againstbone they are mad good, stealth killer with teleportation. And a very small profile, plus flickering in and out causes survs to make a lot of mistakes in chase.

Again… read above. The guard literally deactivates when you initiate an unhook.
Really? I need to try that. I'd still personally suggest using 2 players. A proxy camping knight can simply double hit someone unhooking with the extra warning they get from the guard.
-
A considesble portion of the community is legit horny for the killers. 🤷♂️ dating sims arent exactly expensive games to make. I guarantee a profit was made.
-
It's hard to deal with. Like any proxy camping tbf. It'd work best with 2 players doing the unhook. One baits the guard away the other unhooks immediately after. Hopefully knight goes for the first person who triggered the chase and they can stay ahead of the guard and take one hit max.

The Knight has an add on apparantly that blocks exit gates if someone is being "chased" by one of their spawns lol. We all know that survivors like to take a victory lap at the gate when it is opened, crossing it only when the killer shows up.
NOW apparantly you can't do that vs knight because they have an add on that NO ONE KNOWS ABOUT EXCEPT people who bought that character or who play this game all day. So new players, or players who haven't gone against knights with that specific add on and read it, will know about it, but if they launch their green ball spawn at the gate and it "chases" you, you can't cross the gate apparantly it blocks it, which is a PERK.
What the ######### are we doing with this game, add ons needt o BOOST abilities, not give killers extra perks, blocking the gate for example is a perk, an add on would be to extend the length of the spawns chase for example, it doesn't give knight an entire new ability. That's just insane, so now apparently we can't wait by the gate when Knight comes around, they gave the Knight an add on that kills the fun in this game, I have cross the gate asap now.
That's a major flaw with this game for new players, there are so many bull ######### perks and add ons and game knowledge that are crucial for knowing and enjoying the game in order to enjoy it in order to counter them or not fall prey to them. This is the kind of game where you have to be negatively impacted by said perk or add on before you learn it, because no one wants to sit here for hours memorizing every ability and add on, that's the downfall of this game.
So you're complaining that an add on prevents people from being a toxic little goblins and teabagging the killer on the way out of the exit gates? Doesn't really seem like an issue to me.
Tbh it's not a useful ability. Any survivor woth half a brain will dip out of that gate the second they see the orb in the exit area. And it takes a few seconds for the minion to summon and aggro. So it's a pretty naff ability that will almost never pay off, at least against survs waiting in the exit gates lol. Tbh I'm surprised you arent complaining about No way out instead. It's far more infuriating.
And learning the perks etc is just part of the game. Wesker, twins, to a certain extend deathslinger are all good at punishing survs who camp exit gates if they aren't careful.
I can see where you're coming from though. Certain add ons are extremely strong and it'd be nice to give tool tips about them in the prematch screen. Especially if they change the way the killer plays like tombstone (yuck). Hell I'm convinced that Demo's iri addons are overpowered, and I say that as a demo main.

I'm not sure about the wiping memories part, because eventually the survivors lose hope, and are then discarded or turned into killer for the Entity (this was something established a long time ago so it might not hold water anymore).
I think it's even more traumatic for them to rather be conscious of dying over and over again, and that the Entity may feast on that.
I'll have to have a look but I did read somewhere in the official lore that the entity wipes the memories of a surv who dies and is ressurected i.e. mori or bleed out.
And wiping the memory makes sense. Their fear would be strongest if they didn't know what was going on. If they are familiar with what is happening they get inured to it. "Oh yh same formula I have to fix the generators to escape or this thing is going to kill me, but I won't actually die I'll come back so really it'll just hurt a lot" as opposed to "holy ######### why the hell is this creepy dude in the mask trying to kill me?! I need to run for my literal life" And the entity discards survs who can't feel emotions anymore because each time to die it feeds on them and presumably takes a little bit away, like a tiny chunk of their soul.

Ormond, RPD and Eyrie are probably my favourites. On both sides of play.

They already did, given his base outfit is jeans. I wonder if he's scavenged them from other Survivors.
Says in his flavour text he just finds them in the realm. But I suppose they could be left behind by survivors.
-
Yh diseases probably don't work the same in the entities realm. Survs don't retain diseases inflicted in the trials, like Plague's well.. plague. Nemesis's T virus, Wesker's orouboros. Even insanity induced by the doctor clears up. So either the Entity's realm controls how diseases work and only allows them to affect survs in the trials. Or all of the infected survivors die soon after the trial and are resurected free of the disease. Or perhaps they just find a vaccine, spray or fountain of devotion somewhere in the realm. And perhaps the odd therapist sitting around to help clear up the insanity lol
-
Seeing survivors doesn't provide that much truely useful info. Just their items, which do affect the game a LOT.
the rest is just incidental information. You can get a rough idea of high skill levels if you see high prestiges and playstyle from how dark or bright their chosen cosmetics are. Different survivorare really just a cosmetic skin. Slight chance of them running their personal perks but not that often.
-
I'd tweak my build. My demo build include TOTH and distressing for more BP. Against a swf I'd switch those out for something like lightborn or franklins. I base my playstyle around how the survivors play. If they genrush I play sweaty. If they take their time then I ease off the throttle, enjoy my chases a bit more and avoid killing anyone until 2 gens remaining.
-
I just slug em every time I see them. But if it gets down to last two then I will kill them. And let the other surv go.
-
Clown is better. His power is more versatile. And he laughs. Nothing worse than a miserable killer. You have to enjoy what you do.
-
Yh the bots act weird. They all split up unless one needs a heal. And they genrush like mad 🤣
Legion is perfectly fine against human players. They make mistakes. And tbh getting a 5 hit combo on legion is pretty rare. You need to entire team pretty close to each other. And for them to be dumb enough to not haul ass away when they see the first deep wound pop up.
I usually get 2/3 hits out of it and thats damn good value multiple injuries quickly. That they will struggle to heal safely and cost them lots o.f time

The footsteps that you don't hear until it's already too late?
Lol I often hear them well in time. No every time but a lot of the time. It's not like you can prevent every single flashlight save but i don't lose many hooks to them nowadays. Decent headset and situational awareness. Plus if you know a surv is going for flashlight saves you can be prepared for it.

It is the act of forcing the killer to pick up a downed survivor so you can flashlight or flashbang save them. The most common one is the pallet CJ tech. It is mostly done after stunning the killer with a pallet and having the downed survivor on the pallet side of the killer. After the pallet stun you vault the pallet so that the killer can not break it. This means that when the killer presses Space bar he is forced to pick the downed survivor, since he cant break the pallet, because you were vaulting it. Then you vault back the pallet and still have time to flashlight save.

When a teammate goes down under a pallet, you throw it on the killer and vault right before they kick it so that the killer picks up your teammate instead of breaking the pallet to set yourself up for the flashy save. Not very useful against experienced killers as they often know what you're doing and you just die, but newer killers are susceptible to getting hit by it. It seems pretty dumb to try it in a comp match, but attempts are often made in normal matches despite the high risk.
Oh damn lol. That must be mad annoying for a killer 🤣 I need to try this.

I understand that he might not be pleasant to face, but it kinda sucks for everyone that might not have had any experience facing this killer to just be denied that opportunity whether it'd be a fun experience or not.
Unfortunate stuff..I think it'd be better to just remove the messaging about the killer during the loading screen, since that's the thing that reveals him and prompts the other players to quit with 0 consequence.
When you leave the match before it has started, you don't receive a ban and all other players are going to be stuck in the loading screen extra long than usual only to see that the match is not going to happen.
From the killer side, I imagine it is especially annoying when survivors do this, given that the waiting time for them is usually longer to find a match to begin with.
At first, I thought that someone crashed during the loading screen, it has happened to me too, but then it kept happening only when the killer would've been the Knight, so it kinda clicked that it was on purpose 😂
Yh I certainly don't condone quitting out. Removing the load screen tips is a good shout. Much as I like knowing the killer beforehand, as you say it also allows people to pre ragequit with no penalty.
I don't mind playing knight personally but his playstyle is not a fun one for survivors. Same with twins. When i run twins as killer I notice a LOT of survs DC against me. Makes Victor sad 😭

It's a cool idea. If they increased the size of the basement a little to fit the hooks and generator. Or even better, mount the generator in that little hollow under the stairs in the new basement so it is only accessible from one angle for a more stressful experience fixing it lol. That way they dont have to remove hooks or change the size pf the basement.
Idk about having it give 2 gen completions though. That's a bit too OP. Just add it as an extra gen. Might also help stop people complaining about 3 gen setups if there is 8 gens per map and 1 is always in the basement. Takes a long time to fix, high risk high reward.
Would make niche perks like potential energy and territorial imperative have a tactical use.

Everyone starts somewhere. I got CJ tech'd in my first comp killer game (live streamed in front of an audience of course to rub salt in the wound) and our team placed top 4 in a tourney a couple months later. There's a wide range of skills and everyone can improve if they put in the effort. Most are chill and they'll tell you how it works if you tell them you're new.
Question. What is CJ teching?, I've seen it mentioned on the forums a few times but have no idea what it is lol

Distortion is a permanent part of my loadout now with all the aura reading that has been added in the last few DLC.
Is Nowhere to Hide too strong? Not when I have tokens.
And if you are close enough to trigger distortion. You are close enough to start regenning that token straight away 😁
