  • Just brought him with iridescant shards and I've been having fun with him, but i have noticed that his add ons absolutely suuuuck. maybe my mmr isn't high enough yet but i haven't really struggled with him in games, i find he is pretty map dependant. Nice open maps he is lethal. Havent had it yet but i feel like he'd struggle hard on dense indoor maps like rpd, meat plant and memorial institute.

  • Yeah nurse is weird. The second i hear a nurse in game it goes one of two ways. Either they suck with nurse and can't hit a blink and we clear gens super quick. Or they are a super mlg pro sweat nurse who hits every blink and has the dirtiest perk builds. Either way it makes for an extremely unenjoyable game.

Her blink definitely needs changing like maybe drop the range a bit. Possibly make it so she has to blink on one level, i.e. she can't blink through floors and ceilings. I also like suggestion someone made to block her aura reading mid blink. That is such a crutch for nurse players.

Don't mind a killer being good but if they make every game they play onesided then there is a problem. Plus they limit the game itself. Devs have less freedom to make cool perks because "oh nurse will be more broken with this one"

  • I think it depends how the survivor team is. If i have a seal team 6 swf team, I'll usually tunnel/hook camp etc because there will be one or two players who are so good at looping i struggle to land a hit on them. Chasing them is literally a waste of time and just loses me points. So i go for the weaker links to ensure i get a sacrifice or two. Be stupid not to.

If the team is struggling against me I'll spread a little wider. Cover gens and chase unhookers rather than unhookees. Makes for a more fun game and qe all get more points. Tbh if i kill 3 survivors, I'll usually let the 4th one go. U less they've been toxic and crouch spamming me. Then I'll happily send them up to the big claws in the sky lol.

  • Eh sprint burst is kind of annoying. DH irritates the hell out of me but it requires good timing, i miss my dh trigger a fair bit and if you know a player has dh you can usually tell when they are setting up to use is. Just hold off your attack for a second, they waste it, and splat.

Wouldn't say either of them are broken

  • Ugh. Nurse builds. Had one that did something similar earlier. Had the perk that reveals all survivors at the start, she literally kept me slugged until i bled out. 2 times she picked me up and just dumped me because i got near my wiggle timer. We didn't even get a gen done. And she only got 18,000 bp the match was so short

  • Also suicides are fine, still in the game parameters. And when I've had a decent game I'll often give the last survivor hatch. Unless i have to wait for someone to time out on the hook. Had a match where someone sped up their hook, and resulted in me giving the kast downed survivor hatch instead of just sacrificing them lol

  • Yeah I'd only do it if i got a hacker. Camping killers is no reason to ragequit out. Just a response to how the survivors play. Being a new player when I'm up against good survivors i can either camp hook and get sacrafices, or i can run after a nea, meg or feng who will repeatedly loop stun blind and teabag at me. And get no kills. Pretty easy choice for me. I can get next to no bloodpoints and no sacrifices, or switch tactics and actually get something.

Likewise I'll never rage quit out against a bully team of survivors. If they outplay me, they outplay me. I just do my best and get on with the next game. It just makes me tunnel because it's the only viable tactic lol

  • Sounds about right lol, I've made a similar thread from a beginner's perspective. And this hits the nail on the head, i have an awful time playing survivor, and don't have access to a full complement of perks yet and wont for a while. Solo queue feels almost unplayable, may last game had a prestige 3 nurse with a full set of hex totems from 4 different characters. So clearly the mmr is kinda messed up, they must have played hundreds of hours to get that build. Meanwhile I've played barely two weeks. no chance, 3 survivors mori'd one dc'd on their third hook. Pretty rubbish game where i felt i couldn't do much, as nurse could hit me with blinks attacks 3 times out of 5. And that's a pretty consistent experience, i occasionally get lucky and end up against a newby killer but still often ends up with 3 deaths. Had maybe 2 games where 3-4 survivors got away. Its just not fun

My killer games have mostly been walkovers, and I've got to the point where I've seen swf teams with supertoxic loopers who can just loop me constantly and go from one pallet to another, crouch spamming and flicking torches. Against players like that i either tunnel the weaker links to actually get points or get no kills trying to catch the looper. It's a shame becuase the game is really cool, and I've had some really fun games, but it's difficult to tolerate so many boring/onesided games all the time.

  • Ah thanks guys, yeah the character entries on the wiki show the cosmetics as being earned at prestige 1 and up for a lot of the characters

  • Ooooh. The fire thing gives me an idea. Idk how many people read 2000ad/ judge dredd. But a set of killers based on the dark judges from that universe would fit dbd PEEFECTLY. judge death qould be a shoe in, judge fire a fire/ranged killer, mortis, big on debuffs and a disease mechanic maybe similar to plague, judge fear, messes with survivors perceptions ala the doctor. Or maybe even as premium skins for existing killers

  • @TheSubstitute said:

    1) A preset icon that solos could activate (ie I'm going for the unhook). Voice chat wouldn't work very well due to partially language barriers but mostly many people don't want to talk or don't have a microphone

    2) Status icons showing in chase, doing gens, etc

    3) Being able to see the perks that your teammates are running in the pre-match lobby so redundant perks can be switched out and you know if someone has something situational such as Kinship

    4) Possibly Situational Awareness basekit so people can see which gens are being worked on? The perk itself would have to be buffed and the problem with this is that it would get survivors congregating on gens when survivors should only be stacking on gens when it's hotly contested and important.

Realistically though, my game losses as survivor are more due to survivor misplays than the Killer anyway but I think the above would be helpful.

I like the idea of preset lines. They would be amazingly useful

  • As a new player, about 2 weeks in, i definitely agree with OP. I really feel like solo survivors should get something to help. Voice chat would probably work well. Just being able to communicate basic stuff would be so useful for randos. And voice chat really just brings them in line with swf players. Even if not everybody talks, somebody who does can at least relay basic information. The majority of my public survivor games go badly and when i play killer, I've been rofl stomping so many teams so easily.

  • Lovely thread, didn't know that david was canonically homosexual, but i do like it when companies do thatvwith characters. And glad it helps you OP sorry to hear about the stuff you've had to deal with before, can't be easy
