Start a game off and do 3 gens with killer only getting 2 hooks. Good start right? Oh wait now the killer just tunneled someone out and it's a 3v1 and killer get a 4k after. Fun game.

And going for multiple hooks punishes the killer for being good too, so literally what's your point.

It's lose - lose. I either go for multiple hooks and waste all my time, and everyone escapes but oh goodie me I got 8 hooks. Or I tunnel someone out to actually build pressure, but I'm some kind of loser.

The Legion can keep people injured quite frequently by using power, gain tracking through its power, natural slow down through power, and has an easier time downing survivors due to these things compared to other m1 killers imo. As long as you use its power frequently, they are normally quite good imo. Their add-ons and perk builds only enhance their power and effectiveness even more

Like I tell everyone else. He's GREAT at injuring people but that's it... literally zero actual killing power.

It's just a constant repeat every game while playing legion, "Cool I injured everyone... now what?" No chase power, no anti loop, no real map pressure.

He has great slow down but it literally does nothing but... slow the game down. It's like cool you made the game last longer but in the end the outcome didn't change. You just made the game long and boring for both you and the survivors.

I used to agree with thag until his buff. Being able to get that extra speed boost and actually hit everyone is really good. If your constantly making teams mend that's alot of wasted time. With a good perk combo and a smart use of body blocking when canceling his power he can end chases fairly quickly. He does have the downfall of having no chase power but you really only have to hit then one time because you can get the free hit during frenzy. Bamboozle is pretty good om his kit and can push him to the next level.

Honestly in my belief. His buff is a big fancy band aid that didn't actually solve anything and he's not much different than before. He still sucks. You rarely get chain downs because any good survivor team knows to play split against legion, so that part of the kit is dead. 3 second cooldown off of frenzy instead of 4. Again, you feel it, but in the grand scheme of the things nothing really changes much unless the survivor is in the most massive dead zone on Earth. 3 seconds is still easily enough for a survivor to get to a loop.

He can injure people super easy but then it's like... that's it. He hurts them, but has ZERO ability to actually down. So he's just an M1 regular killer walking around trying to finish off all his injured targets just getting pallet stunned over and over again. And I played him A LOT. Like hell he's probably my most played killer currently, with sadako and pyramid head being close seconds. But it's a PAIN to play him.

  • Legion is simply not above any of those people. He's the 2nd worst killer in the game.

  • @JackOfTrades said:

Can someone PLEASE tell me what Sadako is like?

    Garbage.

If you want a real answer. Still garbage.

Her teleport is good until you realize that once you teleport to a TV, it literally is turned off for a literal minute and 40 seconds. A whole 100 seconds where you just can't TP to that TV again. Meanwhile dredge has 50x more teleport options AND can do it infinitely, with only a minor cooldown on his actual power.

Her stealth is cool but just a worse version of wraith.

Her condemned power does LITERALLY nothing outside of very tiny maps, and even then it's still a rarity you EVER get someone fully condemned to mori, so again. Just another useless aspect that provides hardly anything.

Basically her only plus is the fact she's very short, so there are certain loops you can mindgame that others can't. But there are so few of them that it's kinda like "sure whatever".

They basically just tried to make her a jack of all trades, but all of her trades are pretty much useless and she's just an M1 killer who goes undetectable a couple times.

Plague can keep people injured sure. but her chase power is allmost nothing

That's why you use thana. Plague with thana is quite literally unstoppable. You either never heal and have garbage gen speed (combined with whatever other perks), or you heal at a fountain and give her, her idiotic free hit galore power that can easily be shot over loops and spread out so much that's it's nearly impossible to dodge.

This. Play survivor and you'll see why. After all, the mechanic has to be fair for both sides.

If you want to prevent getting revealed, you need to be the one hiding behind obstacles.

So then it should be tied to LoS... if the survivors character can't physically see me than it shouldn't reveal me. Hell clearly they can do LoS tricks because new spine chill is only working specifically if the killer has LoS so I don't see why they can do the same.

  • @ShinobuSK said:

Early to Mid Game Camping is Worse

In spite of the welcome additions to the base kit deterring tunneling one could argue that camping has actually found its efficacy indirectly increased (90 repair time and faster basic attack recovery). Neither change are directly attempting to aid camping and come with a variety of benefits in and of themselves; so rather than revert these, introducing more deterrents could be the solution.

    • While a Survivor is hooked: Revealed the Killers aura within 24m of that hook and pause entity progression. Disabled upon the gates being powered or another Survivor entering the range.

This would considerably reduce Survivor frustrations, but would also inject a noticeable amount of power into Survivors. That being the case, more power would be inserted into the Killer’s base kit as well to accommodate such a dramatic change.

    • 10 seconds after hooking a Survivor gain a 20% Haste Status Effect for the next 10 seconds. Disabled upon using your power, injuring a Survivor, or being within 24m of a hooked Survivor.

These proposals may not be to one’s particular preference, but that’s precisely what discussion is for. There are a myriad of ways that strength can be placed into the Killer’s kit after all. Faster vault speeds, regressing gates, etc. etc.. The crux of this is to remove a common player frustration that has existed for years regardless of how it may buff Survivors, because Killers can be naturally buffed alongside any change to Survivors.

"20% haste but gets disabled if you use your power" so screw ghostface ig? So is he supposed to hook and then just not use night shroud, walk for 10 seconds and then use it? I don't think the power should matter.

  • @NemmyMan3000 said:

Im playing Doctor on Haddonfield, there is also a streamer. Im thinking im gonna get smoked because of how fast 2 gens went by and I barely had any pressure.

After a while I do catch up, 1 hook, carrying a surv and another surv decides to try and save in front of me (streamer is out somewhere injured) I drop the surv I was carrying and use my power to cancel the unhook and I downed that person.

After hooking 2 people I realize the person I dropped had no hooks nearby so I literally couldnt do anything except let her off. She then looked at me in defeat but I decided I atleast wanted to help give more points for at least trying. (Which I can kinda see how its toxic but thats not the point) The streamer DC and I give last girl hatch.

I proceed to say GG to the streamer and get bombarded with insults from him and his chat saying people like me ruin the game and slugging/tunneling/camping isnt fun and going on to say I was a ######### killer.

Literally why this community sucks now, no matter how chill you play and whatever killer you're playing, there will always be the survs that hate for no reason.

The issue is that you thought a game against a streamer was going to go over well. From my experience literally 90% of them cry about everything a killer does. And that's like their entire personality

Which console? I'm on Switch and the framerate is indeed horrible. PS4 is okay, but I don't know if it'd be okay if I weren't using an external SSD (the RE chapter tanked PS4 performance so bad that it was damn near unplayable), and there are still frame drops and what not.

I've seen other people who play killer say that they can tell the difference between console and PC players because PC players can hug loops better and make sharp turns that console players can't, meaning console players are easier to hit/down.

Ok well that's a switch, no surprise there. 90% of the games on that thing are jokes.

  • @YOURFRIEND said:

Looks..... mostly right. I'd switch clown and legion.

Just an M1 killer who got a fancy cool looking buff on paper that does literally nothing in actuality. I can count the amount of chain downs I've gotten on one hand since their buff.

  • @versacefeng said:

Because our framerate is horrible and we still have those very frequent lag spikes that've been in the game since the Resident Evil chapter came out.

Oh, and playing as Killer on controller is objectively harder than using MNK.

It also could because console has more players than pc does. So that would create a bigger opportunity for you to get less experienced players.

Bro I've played dbd on console the framerate is not horrible. Also I meant going against survivors, I know controller would definitely matter while playing killer since that is first person.

  • If the effects of offerings or addons are essentially useless then how are they designed to be used.

  • @Laluzi said:

Well, the upcoming change actually will fix your issue by making it so that you have those perks unlocked automatically once you get the prestiges out of the way. The bloodweb is more likely to give you levels of perks you already have than new ones - you start seeing tier 2 at level 7, and while you'll rarely see a tier 3 at level 10, you mostly start to see those at 35ish.

Many perks are still pretty usable in tier 1/2, though. Like, Ruin (goodnight, sweet prince) is terrible at lower tiers because it's 100/150/200%, but Starstruck is fine because it's 26/28/30s and Devour Hope straight-up doesn't matter. I wouldn't immediately write off perks for not being tier 3.

But I totally agree that the amount of bloodpoints you get outside of bloodpoint events is pitiful. And the loss of BBQ/WGLF is about to make that feel even worse. There's so much clutter in the bloodweb and that's arguably about to get even worse.

See the issue with the prestige thing tho. Is that I have to go and waste millions of bloodpoints to go upgrade my deathslinger to get dead man switch tier 3 on all characters...

When I could just go on my ghostface, and just find DMS one singular time and that's it. I now have the perk and don't have to worry about finding it 2 more times in the bloodweb clutter.

Prestiging IS a solution, but not the best one. Removing tiers is the best solution.

  • Yea I tried. Got someone fully condemned for the first time ever. Spent a good amount of time trying to find them. Get in a chase with them and they just put the tape in the tv with that long .25 second long animation and completely erased the full condemned mid chase.

As good as you can condemn survivors on tiny maps, they can also just as easily erase it because they have less of a distance to go with the tape, to their TV.

Gotta love bringing my super game changing ruin 200% regression perk just to have someone spawn within 30 meters of it and instantly cleanse it within 45 seconds of the game starting!!!1!!

  • It shouldn't be a hex NOR should it go away after killing someone, if the perk is just going to be 100% regression. 40 seconds just to remove 10 seconds of a single survivors progress is the most idiotic thing I've seen in a while.

Sadako does have a little of anti-loop, is just not the best. You can do some dance moves around the loop while playing with your power and get cool hits

This would be great and consistent if it weren't for the fact that her invisibility is pretty much only while demanifested, so you can do all those cool dance moves, get close, but they can easily get to the pallet / window because you still have to manifest and you move slower while doing it.

  • Stupid threads? are we not allowed to want the game to be better? Oh yes let's never voice our frustrations about the game and the dev team and let the game be forever garbage. Like what is that logic?

  • @KolbyKolbyKolby said:

Alternatively, why should a survivor who plays correctly and makes it to a pallet before you can hit them get injured for it?

Do you want to be rewarded for hits and downs simply for existing on the map? Many tiles can be mindgamed, and Sadako has an incredible stealth and passive phasing power that allows for tricking survivors into poor positioning around pallets.

What does an ideal game for you look like? You run up to a survivor in plain sight, demanifest in front of them while they stand there, then they get hit and destroy a pallet themselves in the process so you don't have to put effort into getting downs?

The issue is that they make it to the pallet and that's it. Nothing you can do, wait til they drop pallet or just drop chase entirely.

And NO most pallets cannot be mindgamed. Most pallets have are near just bushes or cars that you can easily see around. The only pallets that are easy to mindgame are anything inside of a jungle gym. That's it, because the walls are high enough to where you can hide you red stain and still not be completely visible.

"Incredible stealth and phasing power" no she doesn't. Even IF you get mindgamed by her in and out invisibility, she still has to manifest to which you can easily just get to the same pallet in that very loop you just got mindgamed at and just drop the pallet on her forehead as if it would've gone either way.

Yea probably. Me taking a break doesn't change the state of the game tho lmao

I disagree on giving pain resonainse back the noise notification, I don't think this perk should give information while already giving you slowdown regression by 15%, gen regression can be very strong especially if an Artist with dead man switch is on

Removing info completely from it literally just incentivizes camping and tunneling more lmfao. You give killers no sort of direction to go. Pain res with just noise notification would be fine because DMS combo was literally the only thing making Pain res super OP. When you remove the thing telling killers where to move away from the hook from... chances are they end up more confused and stay at the hook until they can find harder info as to where someone is. Or they just wander for a long time trying to figure out what gen is progressed.

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/332441/when-are-we-going-to-start-buffing-the-killers-themselves

They globally buffed all killers in this patch. You can't globally buff all killers, then also give individual killers buffs on top of that. This global buff is massive, it has a bunch of pretty massive buffs and all those buffs work together. I don't think I've ever played a game where you see numbers like 12.5% and 10%, usually it's very minimal buffs.

10% of a very small number, is going to be a very small decrease. 10% looks massive, until you realize how small the number is, that 10% is being taken out of.

Most of the changes you can FEEL the speed increase but you still realize that it doesn't actually change much as the situations are all still the same. If I break a pallet mid chase, nothing happens they still reach the next loop. 10% is cool but it doesn't change how the situations in game actually go.

    @fulltonon said:

It takes time and creativity, which is not infinite.

Bro they have all the time in the world. Do you see how long it takes for them to balance the game? It took them YEARS just to do a meta shakeup. Small number changes with killers to see if they feel better is not something that should be taking them years to do. Balance updates shouldn't be locked behind mid chapter updates, because then you get slow and infrequent updates to the game. Leaving things dead in the water for far too long.

  • @sonata93 said:

    Good morning/evening DBD players,

I'd like to preface by saying I think most of the new changes coming to the game are for the best and will (hopefully) make the game feel more balanced and fun for both sides.

However, I have a concern regarding the new gen speeds and perk buffs against certain killers - specifically Legion. I've singled them out as they arguably have the strongest ability in terms of getting survivors injured quickly and experienced Legion players will use a build that complements this ability (most commonly: Thanatophobia). I've been watching some of my favorite DBD content creators who've created builds specifically around gen slow down on Legion using perks such as Thana, Call of Brine, Overcharge, etc and the match outcome always seems to be significantly killer sided, particularly in the PTB with the buffed gen speeds.

Now don't get me wrong, Legion look super cool and their lore is awesome. I understand why people would choose to play them, but I don't think their gameplay is particularly fun or engaging for the survivor side. I say this as playing against them feels like a mending simulator, but now with buffed gen speeds and buffed gen slow-down perks seemingly becoming meta (Overcharge, for example), survivors will spend most of the game either mending/healing, or playing skillcheck simulator against ridiculously slow gen progression bars. Even if you remove some of the newly buffed perks, Legion + new gen speeds + thanatophobia is going to be really tough to verse as a survivor.

Anyone else have any thoughts on this?

People always say Thana + legion is dumb meanwhile thana + plague is 50x worse

I can’t remember the last time I went down to a Nurse in one hit. Maybe a surprise Devour Hope? Are you two perhaps being too greedy for saves, or careless?

Starstruck is the most counterable exposed perk in the game.

Against regular killer? yes. Against a killer who can teleport the entire starstruck distance and her ability attacks don't count as special attacks, so they one hit down? No.

Blight is one of the easiest killers in the game. It took me no time to learn him, I had much more difficulty at all 6 of the killers I main than him. I main Billy and still have trouble with him. In fact, I would say Billy is one of the hardest killers to learn.

I can agree with billy considering his power is so janky and god awful to use. But blight is absolutely the hardest. Hell the only reason i've seen so far as to why he's up there in killer tiers is because of literal techs that are harder to do than anything any other killer has. Without those techs blight is easy af to stop and it's hard to manage rushes in between loops against good players. Hard enough to where they can easily just turn you into an M1 killer.

  • @Izo_Quartz said:

he's basiscally on the level of a pro nurse, but without any of the skill nessasery to master the killer

No killer is on the level of nurse. You literally cannot compare a character that has to abide by the map environment to one that doesn't, and can also benefit from exposed effect for free.

Blight is EASILY the hardest character to learn in the game by far lmao.

Again your encouraging gen regression perks only. Trust me a fast downing exposed dealing nurse is far less obnoxious then one that hammering and blocking your gens every twist and turn.

If nurse is stunned her power goes on full recharge Is a small but solid nerf.

Literally at what point does a nurse EVER get stunned....

  • @Grandpa_Crack_Pipe said:

Normal blight is fine and great and I love him, I only have a problem when he, uh, "techs" and I'm apparently supposed to expect he'll glide backwards across a wall and turn 180 degrees to whap me in a loop at several thousand miles per hour.

    Didn't they patch that?

  • Idek why auto aim is a thing. It's a melee attack, it's not like I'm aiming a sniper. I don't need my screen to be dragged towards random trees and vehicles, when I can clearly see where the survivor is.

On top of the latest killer being a beast who is able to play for 12 hooks, able to shred solo Q teams, and one who can compete with all but the sweatiest SWFs

I don't think an extra health state if you tunnel someone will matter since playing for hooks will be much more viable

Dredge? A beast? lmfao you're not playing the same game

  • @versacefeng said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/3038684#Comment_3038684

Yeah all that stuff is good.

But the survivor is in an animation while the stun takes place. So the 3 seconds of stun time the devs claim you have is more so 2.5 seconds. And since half of the killer roster has some sort of ranged or mobility based power, you'd probably go right back down. Regardless of whether your at a loop or not.

    Just not true.

Like I said the only killers who can easily catch up are nurse and blight off mobility alone, and huntress because she has probably the easiest to hit ranged ability.

All the other ranged abilities are quite easy to dodge (or just avoid by hiding behind nearby map environment) and all the other killers are pretty much at the mercy of whatever loop you get to in that time. Which yes you can easily get to a loop, because maps are designed terrible and there is literally an over abundance of loops everywhere on every map.

  • Against nurse, blight, huntress? Yea not enough time.

Against literally any other killer? You can make it to a loop easily. ESPECIALLY since most people go down inside of a loop already, since they were trying to loop the killer beforehand. But even outside of a loop, with how bad the map designs are and the over abundance of loops? You can by far make it to a pallet before the killer reaches you.

  • Most Enjoyable:

    • Legion (cause it's a free win, the character sucks)
    • Blight (Honestly never understood how people struggle to counter him, literally run behind a wall or a piece of map environment when he's rushing and you're fine since he can't really flick hits. Fun to play against)
    • Dredge (Fun power to play against)

    Least Enjoyable:

    • Huntress (Ranged killers are honestly all boring to play against but her especially. Having to try and dodge sun sized hatchets flying at me just isn't fun + getting hit around walls)
    • Plague (One of my teammates will ALWAYS use a fountain to which she then gets corrupt purge which is IMO the 2nd most uncounterable power in the game, nurse being first obv. A single pixel of vomit will down me and it's just boring having to try and dodge literal waves of vomit that she can shoot over loops)
    • Nurse (Boring asf. No counterplay if the nurse is good enough. Insta loss. If they run starstruck or make your choice they probably weren't loved as children)
  • @toxik_survivor said:

  • You can use hoarder with pinhead and hell maybe even nemesis.

There's literally zero reason to run PTB ruin on ANY killer. They either find it within 30 seconds because they spawn next to it (like what already happens on live servers anyway) or you kill someone and it goes away. All for the garbage 100% regression which is quite literally nothing.

  • I mean yea once doors get to 99% there's physically nothing a killer can do to the people leaving and they just kinda have to accept that they lost at that point. Bit corny but I highly doubt they will ever add door regression.

Ah yes let me try reading the character that can teleport at a short notice pretty much any distance. And if she misses the first one? congrats she's now closer to you and so her second blink is even EASIER to hit. lmao
