I don't think it's ever really been about the event. Or it would of been out a week ago.
-
@bubbascal Yea, but I don't get why the protection thing shows up. but the stack doesn't count. I know unsafe rescues will nullify it.

I think the issue is that there are multiple kinds of protection hits that are all labeled under "Protection", leading to confusion.
MoM does not actually need to be buffed (apart from clearly stating how long the aura reveal lasts) the Protection score events actually need different names. This way we know which score event just triggered via a glance. "Hook Protection" (defending a person being unhooked) "Hit Protection" (taking hits in general) and "Unhook Protection" (taking hits for someone who was recently unhooked and/or standing close to them as they are running around, maybe within a certain meter radius.
Hopefully these different score event names will be a good start...
Which protection hits does WGLF supposed to count towards? Because not all stacks count for that either. And it doesn't quite explain why sometimes a stack will work doing the same thing, yet another time, doesn't count... so.... yea... definitely confusing... Hopefully they look into it, and explain it better to people.
-
The problem I noticed with Scott Jund playing, was that the protection hits didn't ALL count. Or it would of been far "easier" to get. I'd love for actual protection hits to count... not some.. I don't see that in the description of the perk... It doesn't say 50/50 chance of a protection hit to proc it. It says protection hits, like all of them.. I think fixing that would be a start. And may actually make MoM worth it, not too easy to get, but more easily obtained.

No.
It is very much NOT reportable. For one, it is also a strategy if the person is using discordance it will bring the killer over to you. You can also be better productive in doing separate ones. Not doing a gen, does not equal holding the game hostage etc. Which is reportable. Distracting the killer counts as playing the game amongst other things. Plus with the new challenges that will be implemented who knows what people will be doing to completely them as well as be playing the game etc.
-
Twitch... following/obeying their own rules? LuLz.
Excuse me I need to find an animal to chuck over my shoulder.
But seriously. I don't understand the issue. You are saying twitch should do something? Because it clearly states the responsibility of such things are on the streamer, specifically NOT on twitch. You even posted it. So, you are wanting the FTC to get involved?
Is there a specific streamer you don't like? Cause...I'll be honest I stop by quite a few of them, they verbally explain themselves quite often. Not only do they discuss it, I've seen some where they do put it in the title, especially when advertising other stuff as well. To me it is all very clear. And if you are ever confused, they discuss it freely. Essentially, if I did know nothing, I am made to feel like I know and am aware while there. To me I don't see the non-disclosure portion.. So, I am just a bit confused?
I am unaware of how DBD is giving to the streamers. If they aren't actually paying them (which I don't think they are). And are only giving free codes, for example. Then they disclose that they were given them, (aka they don't need to all the time.)
This link is pretty detailed and you can check it out to know more. Note that "#ad" is not mandatory it just an easy way to tell people. (Aka you aren't forced to use "#ad" in order to comply)
It's explained better in the link, check it out.

@kisfenkin I am inclined to agree.

I don't think anyone needs to be punished. If anything, better educated.
Teach people. Learn. Grow. win/win.
-
seems like a glitch
-
I am not understanding why it's BM ? Is it the noise that bothersome? Dev's can alter that.
As far as I am concerned survivors waste their flashlight by doing it. They aren't getting flashlight saves, and its not blinding the killer effectively at all.... Seems like its useful/benefits for the killer.. I've seen people waste them like that.
And as far as the noise, it just alerts me to their location if I didn't know already.
I am happier with them clicking vs blinding me... so /shrug.
-
What got me into it : Streamers
What got me out of it: current events
-
No :/
-
Sadly, DBD currently makes it pretty easy for killers to harass/stream snipe survivors. Also if you aren't playing claudette or using insta-heals. I don't know what else that isn't said already that killers target. (aside from having ttv in your name etc).
I'd only suggest make them waste even more time, try to get even better with practice. Maybe end up doing 5 gen run of chases. They may end up with a 1k, but they wasted their entire time targeting you, and probably waste their mori if you end up dying on hook facecamped. Although, odds would be your teammates would at least try to save you. (can end up with a 4k lol, depends if you think the team has a chance to save you or just suicide on hook so they run out the gate. would be so great if everyone got out.)
You could try changing your name and hiding your profile etc. I don't know, how consoles work tho, I'll be honest. It's sad DBD can't just block names til the end. They hate survivors dodging and claim it will be the death of their game, but they allow killers to do it. Makes no sense to me.
And yea, I'd report them. Intentional griefing/harassment is just crap. If you can somehow record for evidence, that'd be even better and more instant of a ban. (I would hope at least...)
Anyways, try to make em regret what they are doing, I guess, or be "even more annoying" to them.. Frankly, if it's apart of the gameplay it shouldn't be considered "toxic". Maybe they will be the ones to dodge you in the future. Good luck to you.
-
Of course.
However, they did say next week they are doing a Q and A. So, I am hopeful.
-
You could also make it like corrupt intervention. Players just can't cleanse it until a certain time goes by.
But I don't know... It's a neat idea.... but I just don't know about it. When a totem gets cleansed it makes a big notification to all. But if its still active then the notification needs to stay up... which can get confusing I think. If it's still up, you'd think the totem isn't cleansed then. I suppose the hex would need to have a countdown timer on it.
To me using a hex there is a risk it will get destroyed. However, a big issue is just map placement. The dev's are making them WAY harder to find, which is actually quite good on some maps.
So, I don't know. Something to think about though.
-
So. It isn't just the higher ping servers.... green ping will still have issues.
Survivors will go super FLASH speed, can't catch them. Some instances of possible happening to killers being faster?
Disconnecting occurs when you don't want to even as killer. (With no internet drops).
The hits as mentioned above... even as killer. I watched a stream, where the killer chainsawed a survivor at a window, should of hit. The survivor doesn't get hit, falls thru the floor of the house, and then reappears through falling from the 2nd floor of the building back into view.. further away..
Survivors also clipping thru the killers and no collision I guess?
In short.. there's a lot of crazy stuff going on...
-
OoO, the longer you see the killers aura the more you build up a personal "Exposed status effect".
This effect will cause the killer to see you 100% of the time and will disappear after being downed.
-
With devour hope, you have to be a certain distance away from the hook in order for it to create a stack. Same with make your choice perk. I think the point is, if you receive stacks and get it to proc you can't be camping.
-
Wiggle could be altered to say holding down a button or something. As I sometimes don't want to wiggle from their grasp intentionally. I don't think that should be automatic like either.
Struggling however needs to be automatic, as in no button mashing to struggling. That is a real pain. Especially when the game doesn't register your clicks.
Button mash is not fun. Please change, thanks.

lol.
Just dont slug for the 4K, when not all Gens are done and you got a 3K, you already won. There is no need for a Killer to have infinite time to find a Survivor (besides this could result in Hostage Situations).
@topic:
Sad thing about the Husk-Situation is, it only benefits the Killer. I mean, the Killer only cares for his BBQ-Stack, this is mostly the reason they complain about DCs (at least when going through the Topics about that)... For a Survivor it does not matter if there will be a Husk or not.
Besides that, I doubt that DC-Penalties do anything. People will just kill themselves on Hook. And you cannot punish that.
For survivors benefit, they can unhook the person still, along with heal points if they needed to etc. Maybe not at struggle phase obviously, unless they change that soon. But this has happened before with a DC, husk remained and I was able to get stacks as survivor :D Plus if you really wanted to and running by the husk you can hopefully get killer to aim at him or auto-target and boom free shield XD lmao jk sorta.
The entire thing is because of the emblem system. That's why most killers end up slugging and why you see it so often in red ranks. And also why it's complained about. DCs can result in not getting a pip. Sometimes not even a safety.
I hope DC does not become bannable because I see a lot of people with maybe poor internet getting wrongfully punished. Dedicated servers has been kicking out a lot of people.... counting them as "DCs"
As for husks, they can make it so after a time, they start bleeding out or something. like a new timer on the body goes, like a BT or mend state that slowly drops.. Possible sometime after crows start, so you know where they are... unless they give you an aura to see them...(which im thinking, if your teammates healing then he knows where 2 people are due to his position..so idk about an aura) idk. Just to avoid time situations like that. The only concern of hostage I see is the killer may not know where the husk actually is for awhile. But some killers might just want to hook the husk and can't find them, and the other is being too immersed and the killer can't force hatch, EGC. That would be a frustrating miserable game. Im thinking it'll potentially be a husk, but still be considered a DC so the game will end once the person that is found gets hooked or so. (and hatch will also spawn) . Making the husk irrelevant in that regard. and merely be for the points.
I imagine this is why it's not quite implemented in game yet.
-
If I have tenacity and unbreakable.. I definitely don't mind.
In fact they can leave me for awhile, I don't mind. 😎
-
I would literally just say GG or if you want "GG WP". And then leave or close chat, if you want to continue looking at your score or something. (not sure how it works on console?)
Depending on your rank, (mostly their rank) Lower ranks may not realize actual strategy in this game. And that's usually just being new., or only playing survivor and they don't get the killer perspective. Especially exit gates powered and someones on hook... that's pretty typical. I'd like to think most people get it. Those who play enough do. People that are REALLY trying to go after you, seriously just want the attention. They crave it. I classify them as just extremely upset, or trolls, doing it on purpose with intent (easy to see if they all lived and are complaining, those are trolls).
Don't let people get to you, some players have certain "fair" rules they try to force others to go by, like killers can't kill etc. Like play the game, play by the actual DBD rules (don't exploit etc), enjoy it, most of all have fun. Don't stress about "trolls". You know you played by the "games" rules. Which this strategy falls under. Also, people will say you camp and tunnel, as long as you are on the map basically. You being on the map means you camp and tunneled.... like.. it's just lol. Don't take it seriously. People are allowed to be upset, but don't let them upset you. And if you want, just try to realize that they most likely died or their friend died so they are just really emotional, and if they are hurling insults, it's just their defense mechanism, not you. Don't take it personally at all. Majority of insults are literally all the same.
Are you playing on console? Is that how they are messaging you? I mean cause if you are getting harassed and such, that is reportable. I'm not sure if there is a blocking ability. But yeah, Just be happy with your own self. Did you enjoy it? Were you okay with how you played? Because that's what matters. And if they try to taunt or bully you, just let it roll off you.

Sorry for the language guys, but I really enjoy this game, and this crap is driving me up a wall. Out of 7 games as killer today I had 3 games where all four survivors escaped because every time i would get close enough to land a hit the game would lag out and all of a sudden they are halfway across the map and it should have been an easy 4k because they were just that bad, like trying to corner juke with trees, trying to 360 in a tight corridor and other stupid stuff of that nature. This lag is so bad that I had an entire lobby accuse eachother, including their teammates of lag-switching.
Well that's nice of you. I know how frustrating it can be. Between disconnects, speed (like survivors in perma sprint burst) and bloodlust not working properly. etc. Hits that should count but completely don't. (One was on stream where teh survivor vaulted a house window, fell thru the basement. Then reappeared falling thru the second floor... back in view ... lmao... Like... it gets bad... really bad. and super frustrating. (as well as being forcefully disconnected etc). It can be utterly horrible.
I do hope they do something and soon. I can hope they are working on it as fast as they can.
-
So. If the game is being held hostage and you can't progress normally, due to a troll or even bugs (this is DBD) you want to straight up ban them etc. I disagree.
With dedicated servers... its disconnecting a lot of people... those are considered DC's as the people get no points, but they didn't disconnect. And they would also get banned.
They need to mitigate damages on the players that remain in the match. And allow for reconnecting back to a match.
-
Yeah, It's a bug for many people, sadly.

Let them crawl to a hook and hook themselves! Not really, but would be amusing 😄
I would like some sort of husk system though. Would be much better than people disconnecting in that circumstance as it would actually be within the scope of the game and not a side effect of how disconnections work in relation to the hatch.
LOL That is what I was thinking! but I had to stop there cause that's not realistic lmao omg I can totally picture seeing it happen from afar too... oh man. Too funny.
The dev's DID say there will be a husk system in place. So lets hope it can be used to help everyone in these situations.

@TragicSolitude said:
Rather than being able to bleed out faster, a survivor who's in the dying state for more than a certain amount of time, like 60 seconds, should be able to choose to "concede," exiting the match, getting their points and being able to move on, but leaving behind a husk. Killers don't lose their ability to slug for the 4k, but the downed survivor isn't forced to sit around for four minutes doing nothing while not even earning any points for their wasted time.
That's perfect.
-
One Shot?
Death mark? (black spot)
marked by death..
just DEATH
Hook awaits. Jk lol
I personally don't mind exposed. Although it does more so make you think you are "visible" not covered. etc. *shrug*
-
The emblem system for higher ranks, kind of makes this necessary sadly.
tenacity and unbreakable makes this more "fun". And being able to choose to bleed out faster to save you time, is a nice idea. Maybe being near a hook gives you the option lol idk.
-
Ooh I'd love to see clips if you have them, feel free to send those my way as well if you get/find any. @Liruliniel
-
I think focuses on mitigating the damages done from disconnects would be better. After all a majority could be unintentional, further with dedicated servers, I don't think it can easily tell. Such as your internet drops on you, or it THINKS your internet dropped on you etc. It's been kicking a lot of people randomly.( no lag, no internet drop, yet counts you as DC). If I understood their plans and how they can get this data, I could give a better opinion. But banning I would say no. Punish like making them wait before they Q up again or something, okay.
However I think it needs to not affect your emblem for a start. Either force a safety pip, or recalculate the emblem with fewer people etc. If the match cancels or so, you should keep all your items. Things like that.
Disconnects will give "husks" of their body, which you can hook etc. So they won't be able to DC just to not give you a stack.
-
They specifically and recently changed this for the pig. So, I don't think they intend to undo it.
-
Honestly. I don't face many spirits and haven't noticed this. I'll have to look at some videos to try to understand it better. Thanks for the tips!
-
Hate it as well. Fully agree. Please change it. Thanks!
-
I picture survivors like this just turn into smeagol, going, "MYyy precioussss!".
-
lol I so agree. You know they are running balanced landing too. Strode just isn't a charity kinda map.. lol
I will say it is kinda funny for that aspect. But I can't wait til they fix it up. :)
-
@Impact I don't consider debate/discussion a stand off. Back and forth talks are usually explaining people's side for understanding etc.
As I've already mentioned tho, the dev's are changing some of the lesser used perks, and may also combine this with another. Another aura perk tho, I think is unnecessary.
-
Matchmaking is awful. I assume its a mix of rank reset and also SWF team changes, which will now try to match with the highest ranking teammate.... HOWEVER.... you will see rank 15-20 killers paired with 10+ rank survivors.... I just... don't even know..
It's all over the place...
-
I assume the survivor meant your pip score was going to suck. Your emblem tally. Which depending on your rank, will hurt if you kill them too "fast" you have to be careful. However, if you just want BP and stuff and don't care about rank, there's no worries.
I think he was clearly upset for dying. And I think you may have just wanted to gloat a bit o.-
-
I feel that emblems need to be adjusted for each and every DC if not force a minimum safety pip. Mitigate the damages caused by DC's.
Right now, with dedicated servers more people are being kicked without wanting to actually DC. So that sucks.
I do think once there are rank rewards, this will be less of an issue.

Thank you. That’s almost as bad as exposed then. To get merciless we now have to show mercy.
Yeah. It is pretty messed up in a way. You have to take the time to "play with your food' lol...
-
It goes by emblem system now.
https://deadbydaylight.gamepedia.com/EmblemsThe trick is to not kill them right away or fast, and build up in other categories. Such as hunting/chasing deviousness, hooking etc.
Your rank will also determine how much easier or harder it is to double pip. Merciless you need to "double pip". It used to give you merciless by 4k's (killing all 4) but not anymore.
-
@NuclearBurrito I disagree. I think the perk does do something. It adds extra points.. lol. I get you want it to add value to the actual gameplay, like during the game. But I still don't consider it a blank perk slot.
Pretty sure farming is bannable, I thought the dev's or someone mentioned that.. especially with evidence of it at least, but I could be mistaken. I'd like to find out, did a dev explicitly state that somewhere? I know it definitely is if someone dies or can be considered "being griefed". (Aka someone can't participate in the farm). I thought it was considered working with the killer which is bannable.

Does not matter soon as an exit opens they will DC. No time to run out - stop thinking survivors are the only toxic ones.
I didn't assume all survivors are toxic. I simply said, leave while you can. If you have trouble using the doors to escape, there's always the hatch with key. Survivors do tend to stick around, for several reasons. I suggest if you want points, to get out ASAP. Because even if they add a killer quit bonus to survivors it will not equal to a full escape worth of points. That won't be balanced.
-
@NuclearBurrito Dev's cared enough about points to consider farming bannable. I think they were worried about balancing BP, hence they capped it at 1 million BP max.
I don't see WGLF as an empty perk slot. I see it as giving bonus points in lieu of another perk. It's on people to determine if more points are worth that slot, or if they want something else.
I already said I don't mind the perk as it is, and I also don't mind them adding something to it. However, more aura readings for survivors, I don't agree with. Not when there is still OoO. The dev's mentioned already they plan on redoing the "lesser" used perks, perhaps they will combine it with one of those instead. Who knows.
-
I get that people want to be "FAIR", they see BBQ does 2 things! Points + auras! WGLF on the survivor side should also do 2 things!... but that isn't really balanced.
Killer gets 4 perks. That's it. Survivors get 4 perks per each survivor. (4 survivors with 4 perks each).
You're never going to get this game to be "fair". Killers have knives... Survivors won't also be able to stab the killer anytime soon... However you can get the game more balanced. So BBQ shows auras, but not if you are in a locker. Got distortion? That works too, AND you know the killer has BBQ with using it as well, so when tokens run out you can know you need to hide etc.
I don't mind that WGLF is only points, but I don't mind the idea of them changing it, but it has to be more balanced than getting to see the killer, there are quite a few of get to see the killer perks already especially. Which not all Killers are able to counter those AT all. Not all killers have undetectable etc.
-
You screw your teammates out of rescue points, (unhook/wglf stacks), and killer getting hooks, I.e. if people can't pip there's even less people at those ranks.
You also screw the team with time, as you don't even attempt a chase. So, the teammates can work on gens.
I know people who will DC, they play the entire match, get to the exit gate and DC out. Getting into a game just to not play it, seems just about the same amount of wasted time as it is waiting for a lobby. It can be possible to do very little and not safety, but it depends.
However, I know matchmaking can/does suck. And I know it is worse/better in some countries vs others and such. Especially with rank resets and people not getting to that rank again yet etc. And on other consoles I have no idea either what it's like.
I understand if it's really god awful, people have to do what they have to do.
In short I think you should feel bad, depending on how you are doing it. But as with disconnecting it only is bannable if you do it so many times within so many games. And suicide on hook, is not bannable at all.
EDIT: Also, if you wanted you could bring in a item and give it to a teammate. ex. Key/commodious etc. Something to help them as you know what you are planning on doing. Maybe even some streamers. shrug
-
I suggest leaving when you can. And don't try to stick around to taunt the killer etc.
-

It's not reportable.
The only thing that can be reportable, is if you are being trapped there and held hostage or something. Sometimes survivors will sandbag like this. That is reportable.
Also, survivors can bodyblock killers too. Usually for saving and stuff. That's fine as well.
Also, if they block you, as soon as you get hit, you can go through them and start to run away. (unless you were already injured).
