  • Honestly, I was wanting to know the same thing.

  • Can streamers put a delay on while streaming? Or no?

Also, I am completely for a anti stream sniping mode. Where all the names are hidden. During the match I think this would cut out on actual harassment of players, and intentional griefing. Like why need a report? Just stop it right at the source.

Block all names until the end, gameplay should have no effect on who you are. I've witnessed actual killers that streamed and they intentionally went after certain people, especially with twitch in their name etc. (The one guy I am thinking about seemed legit not right in the head... ) I don't like discrimination. I really hope they get this dealt with sooner than later. But stream sniping is real, even for killers.

EDIT: ... ignore the troll comments.

  • I think it's good, I mean if a killer decides to not dodge a lobby full of whatever items the survivors bring and decides to use a perk slot to counter said items I think it's fair game really. In general I don't think killers use it that often, unless survivors are stocked with gear. As survivor you can just go back and pick it up. As opposed to losing the item completely if it slowly deteriorates and for the perk to be decent/balanced that way it would need to deteriorate a good chunk of it, I think it's actually better that way, isn't it? Potentially keeping the item. Just remember when you got hit at and get it.

And plus, if you didn't bring an item and someone else did.... YOINK! :) lmao

  • As far as I know, rage quitting is a bannable offense. And also can report for it.

  • My response, was saying that it has potential to punish killers for not actually face camping/camping. And camping in general, people need to have a distinction. Like if a killer is still in the area.... but why? Is there another survivor running around? Or how about he sees 2 of them running around the place, obviously the killer will stick around. But I don't call that camping at all. And if you are doing an unsafe unhook right in front of the killer and he turns around and goes back to the hook/near you... I mean why should that be an automatic free getaway card (If I understand this correctly)? Shouldn't unsafe unhooks also be punished? Like aren't those considered bad game being rewarded? It seems like there's a fine line to actually have the game distinguish how people are playing to know when to activate the perk.

I don't consider face camping overpowered. I might go as far as saying its not good sportsmanship. And entirely un-fun to play with. But it's A way to play... I do think they need to fix BT and have that work with proximity, I don't see why it rewards stealth camping/tunneling killers that go after one target till they are dead and repeat. etc.

Thinking more about it you could also make a perk that protects the user from unhook grabs or something that would help with facecampers, but you still can down them after they unhook. Because right now you have to play a game of click m1 and let go. IF you have two people there you are more likely to get the unhook, but because the grab its too dangerous and you may not even save the person.

I'm all for having counters to situations, it just needs to be balanced.

  • I mean. In order for balance, I don't think the survivors and killer can be exactly equal. Otherwise you'll see survivors running around with knives stabbing at things and a killer on a gen going, 'get me outta here!'

However, I do think there's an issue with protection hits not getting counted that should.

And BBQ isn't always perfect if someone is immersed etc. Sometimes killers can't get all their stacks either. And people hiding or going into a locker that acts as a counter to it. Killers can't hide in a locker from kindred. etc.

  • I don't really know when ranks were fixed to begin with? Currently, I see <16 rank players in red ranks, and its just.... heartbreaking... because the event right now... and toxic people ...yeaaaaah... Feelsbadman.

So it's not really a big deal, but seeing as you "wanted" to protect people's names. You could of still edited it out, re-posted after you fixed it etc. As time goes on more and more people will view it, but if you fixed/changed it even after you posted, you would stop people that came later on to not see it. Sure some people see it, but probably not that many. I'm just saying that shouldn't deter people from just fixing it. So its not like "oh well too late, one person saw it, several more doesn't matter" etc.. lol. But again, not a big deal, no ones being harassed or disrespected etc.

  • Personally, I love the new map as killer and survivor. I can't tell you how many times I ran into the "enemy" and its like OMG! It's quite fun to me. There is a lot of mind game potential and just the extra "fear" level it adds.

As far as loops and stuff there's so many times you can run a different way,, and then boom smack right into them again and down them. I don't know I am still learning and getting used to it, but I enjoy it.

Headphones and altruism the survivors worst enemy *cackles*

  • So. The issue is this perk is seriously overpowered. It is VERY strong. Making it a challenge or not easy to activate is kind of the point I think. With that said, I do also think certain protection hits should count which don't currently. And that seems to be more the issue than anything else, imo. And I think they should really fix that. Which if they did this then the perk may become more easily obtained... and may or may not even need a tweak when/if that happens.

No matter what it has to take a certain amount effort to achieve in order to be balanced.

  • Yes... please improve the hair quality.. I REALLY WOULD LOVE TO SEE IT...

And when I say see it. I mean on my characters head. K ty <3

  • I'm not entirely sure if you are serious or not. But assuming you are.

There's a lot that I agree with and I think you have some really great ideas. Like giving bloodpoints for actions that are not currently rewarded in the slightest.

I'm not sure why picking up someone from dying state doesn't count for something currently either. Do you mean killers need buffs in general or related to the things you listed?

I'm kind of confused why you want buffs to survivors that would need counters and buffs to killers. I mean some of the idea's seem a little too "OP" to just know, and seem like they'd be better off as 'perks' or something. Guess I'm not seeing how a killer can counter certain things tho. Like how would you balance it out.

And wait.... You currently don't get protection stacks because there's a timer on how fast you obtained them???? seriously!?!?

  • Serious answer: If you google Nancy Wheeler you can see the same outfit she is wearing IRL. They look pretty much identical with DBD outfit. It's just a high waisted pant (goes up to the belly button) vs. like a hip hugger (the ones that sit at the hip).

Personally, I really love how DBD 'keeps it real'. And I think Nancy looks great :) They did great matching her likeness in real life. *glares at Quentin* ... in time buddy... in time... *trails off*.

  • Killer's do not need to 4k every game... Devs have said they wanted balance (most games/ average 2k and 2 escape). The killer mindset of must 4k is sort of meh to me...

From killer aspect I enjoy hatch. Hatch is also a way that a killer can use to not be held hostage themselves... forcing end game and the timer. Patrol the doors, either see the survivor kill them, or timer goes out and kills them. (Without hatch a door has to be open in order for the endgame.. That seems worse to me than having hatch, because end game I just want to get on with the next one. personally.)

As it was mentioned above the "horror"/"scary" aspect of it, is nice from the survivor aspect.

It seems pretty balanced to me.

So I’ve been thinking, if the perks description says “Your hunt is an irresistible song of dread which muddles your prey's attention”. Shouldn’t that mean the perk should only come into effect if and when a survivor is within the Killer’s terror radius? So with that knowledge, I believe Lullaby should only work if and when a survivor is within the Killer’s terror radius.

"Your" as in killer's and "hunt" as in them finding their prey. It doesn't really specify it like one person. Because technically the prey is all 4 survivors, everyone else. Being a song, everyone can hear it right? It isn't only to the person you are currently in chase with etc. Which confuses people. That's kind of how I figured it.

Anyways. Sadly I am learning there are a lot of trolls on the forums, I think they just go for reactions. (Shame can't downvote...) Make any suggestion or bring up an idea and its just "GIT GUD" etc etc. Feedback and suggestions mean just that. You are putting out ideas and then a discussion takes place. There's literally nothing wrong or against doing this. Disagree or agree, it's pretty easy to be civil about it..

Also... picking at someones words trying to dissect them and twist them into your own convoluted argument is .... "wow".

I'll say the same thing. There's freedom to speech, but only to such an extent... You are allowed to say certain things, but others not so much. Like hate speech, threats of violence etc etc. That's communication... but not appropriate... I think any intelligent person can clearly understand what was being said there...

And this forum happens to have some rules. Like "Things that do not contribute to the discussion (e.g. baits, etc.)" and also "Be respectful to other members". Just saying.

    ANYWAY.

I appreciated your post because it had a very interesting take on a perk, that I certainly didn't think about. And I am sure others that are interested in the lore and what things say/mean can appreciate it as well. Thank you.

I'm just sick of killers who think they are hot ######### around here. They love to come to the forums and troll just as hard as they troll in the game. Face camping is going to eventually make the game die off. Survivors are not having a fun time with being face camped and tunneled. Cool, some perks are there to prevent it. What isn't cool: Not having teammates run these perks 24/7. You are giving us "solutions" to these problems that don't solve anything. If Borrowed Time and Decisive Strike solved face camping and tunneling, we wouldn't be having this discussion.

Here is an idea, eliminate Borrowed Time as a perk and make it come with every unhook. Oh, killer mains don't like the sound of that, do they? Well, we don't like being face camped or tunneled yet here we are.

I find it funny and entertaining how every killer posting has an attitude of "Well, Get over it." You won't be saying that when nobody is playing the game anymore because of your selfish gameplay.

F' it, if a killer doesn't move for more than 10 seconds in front of a hooked player, teleport them across the map! That will show those goons!

    This ^

I am one of those people that especially when dedicated servers come and I am forced to constantly play the same killer that does these "UNFUN" things and I get little to no BP etc. Like.... no thanks. I'll pick up another game. That's it. preferably I'd like to keep this game and keep up the fun and challenge, etc. This game has great potential and I enjoy it.

So I was going to respond above but I realized it was a troll.... I take feedback and debate seriously good and bad, agree or disagree. I was going to take you seriously, but as I continued to read through the garble I realized you clearly haven't played the game and/or clearly not often enough and are just looking for a reaction. (It's like reading reddit..) Because that ain't anything like what happens (some discrepancies were already pointed out).

Anyways. Everyone knows that this behavior, is not fun and that is the point. To make it MORE fun. But how? How can we balance it to a happy medium to both survivor and killer.

The point is not about winning or losing. IT is about making the game FUN and being able to try and do unique things with it. That will bring longevity instead of declining numbers. Games are fun. Enjoyable. Happy. Not stressful frustrating and "screw this I'm out". I mean I'm going to be honest the matchmaking has me really worried about the playerbase as it is. These Q times are SOOOOO long... killer and survivor.... I have been spending hours just trying to find a match... its crazy.. I haven't checked recently, but past numbers were concerning... lets say. This is like hey, how can we actually make the game MORE enjoyable because a huge audience is not enjoying it. Plain and simple. And I just want to get into a match dang-nabbit it's BPx2 weekend :( *sigh*

  • Chat will remain for a certain period of time, before it gets disconnected. (Can't hog up a server! lol) Saw this during the PTB at least.

  • Gates shouldn't really be on top of each-other.

I don't think it necessarily needs to be on complete opposite ends either.

Most my games end up with someone dying, I'm last alive, my best bet is to get close to where I know a door is, if I failed at looking for hatch and see the door I mean. And when they close hatch I'm already on the door. From there its like 50-50 which door the killer checks first.

It's also very situational. To be immersed and hide wait for them to patrol or just GO FOR it.. but if the doors are close together you are pretty much screwed and are forced to rush and hope for it.

Wake up Perk would also help.

I don't usually have doors spawn on top of each-other. If your not alone you can always distract the killer for the other to open door etc. Or maybe sometimes end up sacrificing yourself. Which also has happened to me lol.

It'd be nice to know the official numbers, like how far is each door set to be away from each other? locations are randomized as well I think?

I believe in making it more of a balance, you shouldn't hand deliver the killer 2 doors right close. Or even if they are sort of close but kind of blocked/ hidden so you can't really see. Just some sort of balance. Like survivors should have a chance, and killer should have to work for his kill. Like a killer shouldn't be hand delivered a kill, same as a survivor shouldn't be hand delivered a free out.

So thinking about it, some doors are on the opposite sides, and there's really not chance for the killer unless he is using whispers... so maybe its really just RNG that makes it balanced?

  • I usually play solo. There's no way to private the game or anything ? Kicking makes sense in general because someone could afk or hold up the ready team or something. Otherwise you have to remake the lobby anyway... but wasn't the point of having it changed this way to not have to remake lobbies? lol. I guess it would make more sense if someone was the "leader" because friends could troll and everyone just kicks the other people, especially if they can enter whenever they wanted....

Seems all so troll now for some reason o.o

(I just wish they still kept the change to killer feature but just removed everyone from your team, same as backing out and clicking it but just one less step.)

  • I don't see why this can't be a thing. Whether or not it is "better".

I mean it allows people to practice will lower tier perks, as opposed to going no perk completely. It also allows streamers to do challenges like such as well, if they wanted to make that a thing.

People wanting to "challenge" themselves or just prefer a different tier should be allowed to choose. It's not a bad idea. It would be a neat function of the game to have. I'm not sure how they could implement it, like..... I could foresee a lot of bugs happening.. like you have t3 perk, and want it but it screws up in game and acts like a t1 or something lol. idk. But in general it would be fun for older players to give some challenge etc.

    +Upvote. Good idea.

  • If you look closely at the people in your lobby you can see what they are bringing. So, you know what to expect I mean. If a killer and survivor is at the hatch, the killer already overrides the survivor and can close it. (If you had Franklin and hit them after they'd drop the key and have to pick it up again to use it etc). I mean there are times where the 4th person escapes through hatch it happens. Killers dont HAVE to 4k everygame. But most think they do, so that resorts to slugging anyway.

I don't really see a good reason to remove keys or adjusting them, they are already rare. And the fact that someone may or may not suck and be bad at the game, doesn't mean they shouldn't have a key either...

I'm not going to recommend tunneling someone out of the game, but of course there is that. Honestly I wouldn't start a match if someones bringing a key if I was that bothered by it. But they can still find it during the match. I'm not seeing an unbalance. I mean the survivors need to do a certain amount of gens to spawn hatch.... OR last person alive will spawn and open it. If you are really just after the last person who has a key... I don't know it seems fair to me. Is it because the chance of not getting a 4k? That shouldn't be a big deal to people, and the dev's even said they want the game more balanced than that... There is a survivor achievement to unlock the hatch with all of them escaping through it. (While also there is a Myers achievement to mori all 4 with insta kills (and + the mori all 4 one).... lol just throwing that out there.)

I don't really see the unbalance. I can understand repetition of something annoying is stressful though.

  • In my opinion, MOM is and was a VERY strong perk. Having it used so frequently and easily like it was before WAS insane. (It also punished M1 killers really bad). I mean every survivor had it running. Them making the requirements MUCH harder to obtain was the best decision, because it was not fair to killers at all, even ones that didn't face camp. It would be nice if the perk was more "relevant", but that's the thing, it's so strong, so it kind of needs to have that level of 'hard' to obtain. You really have to work for it and in a sense "throw the game" sometimes just to get stacks to be ready for it. lol.

I watched a streamer going for MOM activation it was quite funny. It's possible to get it to work, but not easy at all.

Basically, any rework they can do, it still needs to have a good amount of effort for the perk to activate. If its too easy, it will be abused. I mean, you can't just get it for free and it really just punishes m1 killers. Which kind of sucks. This is tough to say how to buff it because it can so easily become abused again, imo.

As far as tunneling/camping I think they just need to give better compensation point wise. which was discussed in another camping thread.

But ya. I don't know. I mean I thought it needed a buff too, but thinking about it.. I don't see how it can be possible and still be balanced. Just giving people a free hit from the start I think isn't that fair, even if it is only for once a game. /shrug.

  • Great idea! Anything is better than tapping. Upvoted!

  • Yea, killer Q's are insane. Especially with the event right now. People want bloodpoints, that's a reason for playing, why make it so hard to get them?

I hate seeing 0 when I did nothing but waste my time (apparently).

The issue with this, you always have to think of "fairness" and balance.

If you make it a certain amount of points,,,, well why even play the game? Why not intentionally DC, and get points and find a new game and repeat. I mean you can't make over 30k doing this or its literally faster than legit playing the game. I'd love to see some compensation. But I don't want it to be abused as well (because I do want to play the game lol).

  • Tapping gets old.

    Cons:

    1. There is lag. I've died SO MANY times because the taps don't register.
    2. Stop trying to break my keyboard faster :( (keys are harder to replace on laptops as well).
    3. Why force me to tap and go thru annoying stuff and try to fight to live when I am just being facecamped, but I don't want to suicide because I am trying to be considerate of my team and I know he will do the same to them.... :( sigh
    4. It's hella' annoying.

    Pro?

    1. Struggle points.... okay, how much am I really getting? How does this effect the bloodpoint score? I've not really paid attention. Doesn't seem that worth it in all honestly. If you want the points, maybe make it optional?
    2. Can suicide when facecamped or leave the match without disconnecting.... (Also, maybe holding the button down to end your hooked life would be easier.)

Also, for me the scroll wheel is much worse.

I've heard rumors they are planning on doing something about it? /shrug

  • Oh, Id also like to add there is no incentive for people to STAY in the match either. If someones being camped... they suicide. Not all people will "help" their teammates, and lets face it that leads to 4k's and get the killer thinking he's awesome... I've seen that one to many times, (and the points the killer gets is insane in comparison. Just saying.... Perhaps there is a correlation to why killer Q's are so long and everyone wants to be one, vs survivor.) I usually stay in a match thinking.. oh well he is just going to do the same to my teammates if I just leave. But SO MANY times I see people trying to save me and its like NO just leave... which also can lead to 4ks. And less face it. Not having an interaction with the killer, IS boring gameplay. The survivors get bored, so they try to go for save etc. I mean this game ain't called Dead By FaceCamp...

If someones being tunneled or "Bm'ed" they dc. ( and bm.. like holding the game hostage being forced to bleed out or nearly til the end etc. I mean there's alot of crap people do out of "powerplays" etc. Being a target of grief isn't fun. And I see it alot... (they don't necessarily get banned right away, or even reported enough to get the ban in the first place I guess..).

Both these things are bad,, Disconnecting is bannable it clearly isn't wanted, but it also feels like that in some matches you are "forced" too, and suiciding, is basically the same thing, in regards of quickly leaving the match, not helping the team etc. There needs to be another option or feel like it's still worth playing or making an effort even in "negative" situations. Like: Oh, its all good I still get bloodpoints, or the BM is fine, they get punished etc.

I just learned of the terror radius to BT, and honestly that is just crap IMO. I thought the purpose of it, was to help counter camping killers, and fast hook saves counters other perks. I've noticed not a lot of people, especially solo Q, even bother to run BT. And this leads to "farming". Maybe something can happen when the same person gets hooked repeatedly and no one else in between. (depending on how many survivors left as well, there no reason to punish killers if there's few in the game and you can't really help it if one person is more immersed or something - cause that happens as well). I do think proximity is important here. And also the person being farmed doesn't even get a WGLF stack, I mean they did take a hit instead of someone else near a hook etc. lol.

(But really I notice so many things not count for WGLF.... /sigh).

I like the idea in this game, that there is a counter to something.

Just a random thought, as DS and slugging kind of go hand in hand maybe it can help while being slugged somehow. /shrug

EDIT: @Irvin I agree with the safety pips.

People DO care about rank (personally I don't, only for the steam achievements tho.)... even tho "it means nothing, and matchmaking is wonky"... Safety pipping for crap situations seems like a good idea, because why have someone that is actually a good player... fall in rank? Isn't the point to match people with the same "skill set"? I know it's broken a lot, but this seems like a step back to punish a good player for being in the "wrong match, at the wrong time' kind of thing.

OH and this makes me think of something else... so disconnects... killers are rewarded the same for it... Why can't survivors? You are now down a player, they most likely didn't even touch a gen. Especially if it was early game. Points or compensation should be acquired. This will make it less "bad" and won't cascade into other teammates giving up and dc'ing... which less face it,,, also happens... a lot..

Hah. Sorry for trailing off here. But it all kind of seems hand in hand to me.

  • I'd like to know if this forced change was due to trying to hide the hair/cosmetic mistakes....

This setting is normally something you can manually change in game with no problem. Why was it changed is my question. I'm not a dev, but It should not be bannable.

I also assume they will hotfix correct this later, due to how many issues people are having with it. /shrug.

  • I think discussing not camping, is a valid topic. Instead of "just deal with it", and its "fine" as it is. etc.

I'm just going to point some things out.

It was suggested that have people use Borrowed time (BT).. Doesn't work if killer has no terror radius.

Someone suggested run Decisive strike (DS)... this only leads to killers slugging people on the floor and staring at them. Wasting time. And the perk gets "countered".

Another idea to avoid camping 'penalty', is have a "SWF" or coordinated team.. Oh wait... don't killers hate those? Because if you did, you can say hey I'm being camped work on separate gens etc. Randoms are less likely for this to happen, but miracles do occur....

Now. I have been straight up tunneled and farmed out of a game and also camped to death. This resulted in not much bloodpoints obviously. It would be nice to gain compensation. Like face camping... if such is happening maybe my boldness maxes? lol. (Just an idea) something for spending all the time waiting on lobbies dealing with long Q times etc etc. Only to finally get in a match and ya.... So, that repetition can lead people to just not even bother playing the game. That's not a good thing, you want to grow the player-base not push them to another game out of frustration.

So, something to make the "bad" parts of the game "worthwhile". Is great.

I think the game overall is taking steps in the right direction, such as making compensation for the obsession, with points. That's great! (hah maybe add "camper points" if camped a certain time frame? lol)

In the end, there needs to be the proper "balance" for things, and that's the idea to work on. Camping sucks. Killer does not care at ALL and survivors care a whole lot. Just need to find the happy medium. Make survivors care less, and killers care more.

What's the best balance and best way to achieve this.

  • My reason is as follows and the rest just expands on it.

I love Dead By Daylight because of the variety. It's very diverse with multiple layers if you will, and you have a lot of personal choices you can make and there are no "rules", so to speak.

What started me playing was twitch. I found someone playing the game and became very interested from there. The fact that there is one "killer" and the scary factor, made it intriguing. And with watching them play survivor, I got to see the "Co-op" aspect of the game. And that coupled with the altruism (hook saves/healing) or working on objective (generators). You can choose either or, or mix of both to do. And of course chases, which also allows your teammates to work on generators or heal themselves. By having a long/decent chase you by your teammates time. Time is very valuable in life as well. By making a choice, you are working as a team or unit towards a goal, to survive.

But see that is just in general. Like the top of layer of this game. I've since learned you can make your own "rules". There is no set of rules to this game. And that goes for both survivor or killer. Sure you can try to survive, but you can also use "perks", collect steam achievements, maybe it's getting a "long" chase which is relative, or just getting "stacks" (BBQ and WGLF) etc. Maybe your "win" is to see your other teammates escape, whether or not you die, as survivor. Maybe a "win" for you as killer, is just hooking everyone twice, or just enough for BBQ stacks. You make up your own rules. You decide what is a win or lose. Maybe there isn't even a thing as win or lose to you. It's all just personal preference. Sure you have a "game" objective, that is going on, but more than that you get to choose what is your "real" goal? What is YOUR "win"? The game can't get stale or old to me because of this.

You also have psychology going on with "killer vs survivor" mentality. By playing both sides and really getting to learn each, I've gained more respect and understanding of what my "enemy" and "allies" are going through. You see different types of people in this game and different play-styles. A lot in endgame chat. You can see people having fun and joking around laughing, and also some that take things personally or are considered "toxic". I like to think this game helps "build" character. You can learn from mistakes, and also work on communication. Like personally I like having fun and I like other people to have fun as well, I like to communicate any sympathy and encouragement I can in hopes that others will be calmer and take things less personally. I like spreading "good karma". Even if you are 'pitted' against one another, you can still throw some "GG's" and have fun playing with others. And the community as a whole, I think is the same. In the end, mistakes or not, win or lose, it's just one big, "GG's!" and onto the next one! :)

This is why I love playing Dead By Daylight! :)

As I mentioned in other threads regarding the discussion between Mathieu Cote and Kyle, nothing is confirmed yet. We still need to go through all the legal procedure and see if we can do it.

I don't want to sound negative tho I just want to make sure that everyone has the right information.
