  • I mean. There's no real guarantee that they camped BECAUSE no obsession though. I feel like the odds of them doing that,, was just because they felt like it, versus a perk stopping them.

BT isn't an obsession perk, but buys survivors, that get unhooked, a chance to get away. All those killers could have been worried about the person that unhooked having BT, but clearly they weren't concerned and did it anyway. Even if DS were into play most likely those killers would have just left them slugged on the ground instead. That situation is why BT is so valuable to survivors, but survivors don't want to run it for some reason? The lack of terror radius is frustrating though.

But I don't see how having permanent obsession fixes that situation or would have stopped it.

    EDIT: BT = Borrowed Time

  • @theArashi I think you have to go to the site: https://support.deadbydaylight.com/hc/en-us

Make a ticket there. Unless there is another way to report in game before the match starts? Because I do not know.

You can click on their names and get the steam profile right? I thought you could... but now I forgot lmao. Anyways. If you get their steam profile save their URL. And you can report them with the website in the ticket. This will save you from playing with them and reporting them after the match, unless of course you want to and report both ways. You could.

You said "they" don't want to do anything. I understand that as all survivors, if you didn't mean that then I'm sorry I misunderstood.

Yes, cleansing totems is easy. You find them and hold m1. I'm saying that you just don't have time when going against nurses and spirits.

No problem. I meant as in the people I've read. I never generalize everyone or try to, there will always be exceptions to stuff. I think I read that from someone else tho.

But like you said about adrenaline. I mostly compare NOED with adrenaline, and the two seem to help balance each other out. Obviously the argument for adren, is the killer can't stop it, like survivors can stop NOED.

Against nurse and spirit, they are very good killers if played right. In my personal experience, for nurses especially, if they are using NOED, they are for a lack of a better word, boosted. And you have time to cleanse. If you have a teammate that can do long chases and stuff that helps with creating the extra time. I mean it's not always easy and not going to be completely easy. I know lately, especially with Inner Strength I have trouble just getting my perk to even proc lol. Like I seriously cannot find a totem (like I see the corpse of where it was). They all get cleansed too soon lol. But yeah, I just faced a mori spirit today, she just insta killed everyone. Didn't need to worry about noed... I guess... So there's that... lmao. And against nurse, Inner strength I think is great, because of the nurses calling counter.

Most my games, if the killer is using NOED, there is time to check on totems. If NOT, at the very least I check where totems could be, so I could cleanse it then.

And another thing about the time, I thought I heard someone say self care is the same or even longer than doing a dull totem and getting into a locker. There are lots of time people are "wasting" self-caring when they could work on a gen and probably have one finished... Just saying, that is something to think about. How you delegate your time in total then, like are you on a gen or just hiding ? etc. (And anyone personally I'm saying people in general.)

I just personally feel, and as they both are situational perks, that there doesn't need to be a change. And after playing so long, it doesn't seem like a big thing. It can be kind of funny when it comes outta nowhere and you least expect it. Idk. I just have fun with whatever happens.

    That's just my 2cents.

Noed does reward losing, and saying it counters gen rushing is like saying, i should get to clean up house if survivors do what they are suppoded to. Im not saying gen speed is in a good spot for swf or anything, but frankly the fact that keys in insta heals which i agree reward failure, does not justify that noed is in a good spot. Personally totems need reworked anyway.

    Noed does reward losing

I don't get how? IMO, the match ain't over until the end game screen. There you can decide your "losing" or "wins".

There are different builds and different playstyles killers can choose, as well as survivors. I don't see how any of it is a reward for losing. You could make the same argument against adrenaline, it is a reward for losing. You get downed, and it is a free up once the gens pop.

Further, if the killer was chasing people that were injured, and then gens pop, boom everyone has adrenaline, full heals, or at least the person being chased does, they would have been instant down, but now they are full health, but OH wait... here's NOED! Boom. 1 shot... still... or you are injured already and still one shot, noed wouldn't make a difference to you. Honestly, it seems balanced to me. And this is coming from my opinion as a survivor, btw. (I'm just pointing this out, which happens in games)

I think of either situation(s) as involving strategy, you planned ahead during the lobby or not even the lobby when you looked for a match. You plan for certain situations, some perks are only FOR certain situations. Sometimes, you never get to use them, it happens. Situational perks are just that, situational.

I feel like I need to point out, even if the killer has NOED that does not mean you can't escape. Most of the time it means you most likely shouldn't go back for the save, unless you know where the totem is or could be... it's not a instant victory perk for killers...

It is also very entitled that killers expect solo survivors to cleanse 5 totems against nurse or spirit and talk like it is an easy thing to do :)

Stop assuming all survivors want easy matches and free escapes

Stop assuming what other people think without asking them? I didn't say or think that ALL survivors want easy matches and easy escapes. You are putting words in my mouth. A lot of the arguments I read are just "entitlement", that is the opinion I expressed.

And It is not ENTITLED to say cleanse the totems. I already expressed above what entitlement, there are some people out there that feel like they have a right to not be hit with NOED or they deserve not to etc..... that's not the case...

Also, that is literally what the dev's say, and that is the direct COUNTER to it... Lol. And honestly, I am speaking as an apparent "entitled" survivor btw. When I say cleanse the totems. Because it is really easy.... I do it often... I don't complain...

Look I used to think that way.. "remove noed or nerf it its too strong. etc etc".. I learned more now.. Totems are easy to find after doing them for so long now. It's just... It really is simple. It's not a complicated thing. And I don't know why people are complicating it. But to make arguments that basically are saying, hey do this because I don't like it or I don't want to... it's just... meh to me. Like you can make them, but I won't change my opinion because of those.

Edit: I also didn't say just cleanse them. I've said if you don't want to, Just LOOK around... and you can cleanse it when you realize they have it....(which is another thing that I do...) /shrug

  • So. as @Fibijean said. They would definitely have to re-animate things. Like making chucky grab the leg of a survivor or something in order to drag them to a hook. They'd have to come up with some weird way to CHUCK the survivor up to the hook as well.. Or maybe remake the hooks for chucky so they are lower? or different somehow aswell? Like maybe cages or something you are trapped in... idk.

If the designers and dev team could pull it off, that's one thing. I mean it seems like a lot of work, but if they wanted to I think they could pull it off somehow.

Now as far as abilities and skill on the map. It was also mentioned about seeing over loops... You would have way less visibility I'm thinking is my first thought, which would suck. But maybe they can come up with some ideas for perks he could use or have that can help him. Maybe built in shadowborn. I don't know.

His height definitely complicates things, but would probably also make him scary and creepy as all heck lol.

  • I completely disagree with totems being a waste of time as an argument on why NOED needs to be changed or removed.

To complain about noed and complain about it being a "Waste of time"... I just... I don't honestly get that lol.... it is NOT a waste of time... going to cleanse it... sure there is a risk... they might not have it.. so what? You still DID NOT get NOED... Isn't that the point? Because you don't want to get NOED? Like what matters more to you? Your "time" or getting hit with NOED? Make your choice. Because if you want to argue about wasting time at a video game... I don't know what to tell ya there.

Behavior gave us more points to cleanse, as well as a free heal as an incentive to cleanse totems. I think they are trying to tell us something.... I don't know if I see a connection.

    What could it be..

  • I've been reading the "NOED is OP" posts and its just... very entitled ... they don't want to do anything, but also don't like it.. They want to have it just disappear so they don't have to "Do" anything... Just because you don't like something AND don't want to do ANYTHING to "Counter" it.... does not mean that is an argument for it to just be removed from the game.....

It's just "I do not like this and I don't want to put any effort in what so ever.... please fix this" is like...... mindboggling.

I see your point about balance and fairness with survivor perks, that seems to go over peoples heads as well. I think this is due to one side playing more than the other. It'd be nice to consider the other sides perspective more.

  • I think it helps bring the point across to like HEY leave... lol. Just tossing some ideas out there.

Maybe EGC could just start after a certain period of time after all the gens pop as well? Or maybe EGC could start after a certain period from a door being touched. And if the door is 99% maybe have the EGC start sooner etc.

  • @LordGlint OHHHHHH. Well that makes way more sense. lol I completely misread! My bad. Also thank you :)

I don't really mind that idea actually. I mean technically survivors are trying to stall and bypass the EGC anyways. So. Not a bad idea at all. I don't know the numbers or anything. But the idea, I like for sure :)

  • @OkKiLLer said:

To be honest NOED is pretty annoying to go against and all of theses killer mains saying to cleanse the totems don’t understand that if you only search for totems your not getting any gens done. You could accidentally forget about how many totems are left. you can’t find a totem. And then sometimes you actually cleanse all of them just to find out that the killer doesn’t have Noed and you just wasted a game.

There is always a chance if you are doing totems before endgame that the killer doesn't have it. If you don't want to cleanse and wait til endgame, while I am running around doing gens I always look around for dull totems. Just knowing where those are, and if they do have NOED you know where to look and cleanse it. I personally don't think it's a waste because of the extra points and now a free heal when you need it. I've spent a crapload of hours in this game now, I usually find totems easily (lately broken ones... darn you inner strength *screams in silence * anyways....)

Maybe its the play hours, I used to feel the same way kind of. But now... it's just second nature. Once you get the "signs" and I don't know.... You just know what you should be doing. If NOED was unbalanced AND annoying, I'd be in agreement. But it isn't, especially with more reasons to cleanse now.

  • EDIT: Misread it! I really don't like the idea of doors slowly opening, because it would mean more holding the game hostage. They would become immersed and just wait out a door until it opens then make their escape(s).

It's better to just open the door yourself.

You need to know who to go after in those situations if a survivor is running away from a gate. You got to think do you want that one kill? Are you planning on camping them or going back? Are you going to slug them or hook them? How fast can you down them and get to the gate etc, It's kind of the same idea of a 3 gen strategy.. Instead of fully committing to the survivor you got to drop sometimes and go back and check on the gens. It's very situational as well, like are the exit gates nearby each other? Plus how many survivors do you have left. There's better strategy's to do I think.

  • Be honest people, how many times did you see survivors cleanse all 5 totems? It is a very rare thing.

I think I am biased.... because I play SOLO survivor and I do... I cleanse them all. And when I use Inner Strength I notice my teammates are wildly cleansing them too. I'm lucky to get 1-2 heals out of a match. If that.

Also. If my team is powering thru gens FAST, I do totems. If the killer is playing a CERTAIN play style... I do totems.. Like if the killer is letting gens get done, not pushing people off or acting like he doesn't care, maybe he got zero hooks and we are on the last gen etc. IF the killer has not been hooking people... There's certain signs that tell me,,, hey... I should be safe and cleanse them or make sure they are cleansed.

I'm not sure what ranks you are playing at, and maybe there is a discrepancy, but this is what I have noticed in playing as survivor. And it's just not as big of a deal as I have grown and learned the game more. If there wasn't such a simple and doable counter, especially making the perk completely unusable as you can do it before it becomes active even, I would probably be on the side of making a change. But the fact is, there is an easy counter. You just don't want to do it, so you will have to deal with NOED instead IF the killer is running it.

Saying things like you are just too busy doing other things.... like those are just excuses... I really don't see the issue. If you care that much. Make it a priority. You don't want to? Then don't. Deal with the possibility that he could have it. MY best advice is, pay attention to the play-style and put in effort when you notice or think he has it, or tell yourself hey do I want to deal with this at the END of the match? Start cleansing, or hope you can get the door open in time.

I mean it's like saying you don't want to clean your room because you are too busy etc. But you don't like it dirty... it ain't going to clean itself. There's counters to everything...

top killers can use it and get kills they didn't deserve.

I think this is the attitude that is the issue more than NOED. I suggest stop acting like a judge and jury over a video game, and let things happen. Win or lose, don't take it personally. You will enjoy it much more and not get so upset over this stuff. Someone DESERVING a kill or not, is not up to you. And whether you personally dislike the way they play or did something, as long as it was within the rules, it was acceptable. Just let people play how they want to, if you disagree that's fine. But I hope you aren't going after them in chats for it. Just GG or hit the leave game button. There's always another side and perspective people don't always consider.

Don't get worked up over the small stuff.

  • I don't think people "suck" or are "noobs" for using things that are available to them in game.

If you don't like getting slugged, use tenacity + unbreakable etc.

If you don't like noed, cleanse the bones. Adapt. If not, and if they have noed, I suppose try to get better at dodging/hiding and getting away. OR keep track of where you see dull totems on the map, and if they have noed you know where it could be to cleanse it then.

Noed is like adrenaline... except it makes you fall down \o/

  • DLC is more expensive, maybe not as many have bought it or are saving up for it.

Perhaps, not as many people have him leveled or have the perks on him that they want.

    Also time/scheduling might matter.

Like personally I think he's great and fun to play, but I have been busy. :( Sorr'ies!

  • Yea, it is possible to get flashlight saves when carrying, have to avoid looking at the flashlight. As mentioned, there could be new timing that is needed now due to the dedicated servers and slight lag now also.

Best advice is to look down, not up when trying to avoid them as well.

  • @__Panda__ My experience with doing it, I enjoy that I did, I had enough free time and was able to do it easily, I like the clothing options that I can choose it or not, but I've since got cosmetics that I like to wear too. But I like having the options on the ones I like to play. So, for me It was worth it. :)

I've not really noticed any difference with item spawns. I think it really is about the clothes. I have prestiged characters that I like to play and I enjoy playing. However, doing so is a grind. If you are a casual player, I wouldn't necessarily recommend it at all, because you might just be unhappy playing something you don't want to play, (i.e. Not having perks you want etc.). And its really nice to play with the perks you want, prestige takes time and isn't that "fast". I'm going to roughly estimate you need about 5-6million bloodpoints you will need, and that doesn't necessarily mean enough to unlock ALL the perks in the game, if you have them. (The new change to bloodweb though really has helped in getting better perks again tho, for levels 40-50)

What I did when I first started playing, was unlock all the survivor perks. After I got ALL of those, I picked which character I liked and wanted to play, visually. And that is who I prestiged and then got all the perks available on them. During this every shrine, I had enough shards to unlock the killer perks, so I slowly unlocked those perks without putting points into literally any of them, as I did my survivors. So, now when I play killers I leveled the ones I wanted to play. And a good portion of them have all the perks I want to use on them (I got lucky). So they are level 50 and I can choose to prestige or not now or just unlock all the perks on them and be done with it. (Depends on if I like the look of them and how much I think I will use them.)

If you choose to prestige, make sure you get 1million shards or at least CLOSE to that number BEFORE you start the prestige, as well as use good items on them first (because those get deleted). This will get your character about 30-35~ level range give or take. It also depends how good you are in choosing which items, and "managing" the blood web. If you do it right you can force the entity to take off a good chunk of extra "stuff" that you don't want and move on to the next level for less points. Basically getting the entity to eat the bloodweb. And there are videos on this "How to level the bloodweb effectively" that you can look up and will make more sense, probably.

TLDR: If you love the character/killer, I would say go for it, if you have the time to invest in getting the points, but if you don't I would consider not bothering, unless you are okay with playing and not necessarily having the perks and items you want when you are doing it. Also it depends if you even like the look of clothes either, because that is what its mostly about. In my opinion. GL in your decision! You can always make it later on as well. :)

  • This is the kind of chat I love to see. Thanks so much for sharing this!

  • @grtf47 Yeah, exactly. It would be nice if they never happened, but I can't think of the best way to accomplish that. So yea :/ I can't really think of the best approach to it, that is like "Yea! That will fix it! and balance everything!"

  • @PhantomMask20763 said:

    I love this pledge

It's a shame we have to TELL people to be nice tho, why cant nice just be default? :(

I like that! It should just be "default"!

I have hope we can help make it that way.

  • You can agree or disagree or not agree completely etc.

I hope whoever reads this can gain some take away, from it and help create a more positive non-toxic environment where everyone can ENJOY the game and do whatever they want, whatever play-style they want, as long as it fits in the guidelines/rules of the game (aka no exploits or bannable actions). And this can be from NOT doing something (being toxic/insult/harassing etc) or doing something (being nice, positive, constructive, supportive etc).

And if you decide to take the positivity and ideals OUTSIDE of this particular game, as well, than that is great too.

I support people in all walks of life and their mental states/health.

I do see quite a bit of harassment, even towards myself, some may have even witnessed it, it sadly does exist. But I hope we can all just move towards a more positive constructive approach. Especially with in this particular game, where I see "toxicity" and harassment happen quite often. And I don't ever want to feel harassed when I play a game the way it should be, and I do not want anyone else to feel the same.

  • @Cetren GG and move on is a great approach.

Those are just my thoughts, and that doesn't mean I expect others to feel or think the same about stuff either. I think overall the idea, has some very good tips that could benefit this player-base. I tend to look very in depth at things at times...

Other guy was just trollin'. Trolls gonna troll, I guess.

It'd be nice to see people that if they disagree with someone just don't take it personally and/or attack a person's character. I can definitely be wrong about something, or change my mind later about something. I am just human, with good intentions.

  • Yup :) It's nice. Discrimination and harassment etc exists in all aspects of life sadly, including gaming. It's not exactly a pledge on a game, but a pledge in life. Like you can take it how you mean. But I take it to mean I am choosing to be a good sport and act with a certain set of morals and dignity. I understand there are humans at the other end of the computer screens. And I'm not going to harass and threaten other people over a video game, especially. But I also take this to heart in "real" life as well. Like the same set of rules apply. I've seen people take things out of video games, harassing others on streams (twitch etc) and steam. It's very sad these things happen. You don't actually have to "pledge". You may think, well duh! This is obvious! Don't harass people and or discriminate against others etc. But people still do these things, and its apparent in all aspects of life. And for those that maybe want to change or need help changing, they can hold themselves accountable for when they do make mistakes and have some guidelines and support to help them in doing it. Or just showing support to the cause :)

I think it helps understanding what other people may be going through, there's always more than one (your own) side to think about. To me it's not just talking about "a video game". And you can disagree. I'm happy if people can take away something from this. Even just to consider it. Something to think about. :)

Someone is absolutely stupid if they try to unhook with leatherface standing there, chainsaw revved up and waiting. What do you think the outcome is gonna be? The rescuer goes down. So stupid is an offensive word now? LOL call the snowflake police Im being toxic

I do not agree with calling people stupid, that is exactly what I said. You choosing to call people stupid, is your opinion. Not mine. There are perks to help counter stuff and situations that a bubba failed, even with his saw revved up to actually down the survivors and the survivor gets unhooked. It does happen, maybe rare for you. And the idea of making perks to help counter or can help in these situations I see no issue with. A "valid" strategy can have a "valid" counter after all. End of the day, it is just a game.

    No need to take offense.

Thanks I really appreciate the support during this time.

    🐷 GLHF 💖

Of course :) You are not alone and we are here for you. *insert happiness boop* 🐷 :D lol Is that how it works o_O :)

  • I don't get these arguments. You are saying camping is a valid strategy.... so why is it so bad to lose against it? Why insult people for "losing" against camping... I mean if it is so valid... right? So really they lost to a valid strategy. Winning and losing happens, you aren't meant to win all the time. Bad matches happen. Especially with randoms, you never know what you get and hey, if something doesn't work out it doesn't work out. Experimenting is great too, trying new things and strategies. Some workout, some fail. It happens, but that adds to some fun.

I think camping works, because it takes time especially for a non-swf team to understand what is going on, if they aren't using any perks like kindred or bond, you don't know what's going on if you are just doing a gen. It's like WTH why is that guy not saved yet? So you leave and find out, but that wastes time. Some people stay around the hook instead looking for opportunity, sometimes it pays off, sometimes it does not.

I think people complain about camping because as you said it's annoying, it just isn't fun. So, really it's just hey I am not having fun, and I would like to have fun! It seems like everyone agrees that camping sucks... but there's still debate over that o.o

If you can somehow make it more fun, I think people will not care as much. And you'll stop seeing all these posts.

  • @Kilmeran

Oh well, it's just a video game. I can't effectively play the entire roster, either.

    I love that thinking :)

And yeah turning off chat to avoid toxicity can be very useful. I personally get torn, because some people are really nice and it's fun to have a laugh with them afterwards. Oh, gosh I remember this one time I kept accidentally "Tunneling" this one meg. She was the only person I could find on the map, every track I followed I thought for sure this is someone else! lmao. At the end she knew my intent and we had some good laughs about it. But you never know what you are going to get sadly. It's like taking a risk.

For number 4, the most you can do sometimes is just try to report and hope the dev's sort em out. I do wish people were held more accountable to their actions online (and sometimes offline).

    Thanks for your post! GLHF!

  • I give hatch. If they played well, if it's convenient etc. I don't usually consider BM, but if they did, maybe being nice to them will help them loosen up and be nicer too. Never know :)

Also, any game issues or bugs and stuff, yeah I definitely like to take it "easier" sometimes if it seems really bad, I just consider it like a meme game or something and mess around. I aim for a good gaming experience for everyone involved, and I'm not going to take advantage of stuff.

    I don't care about 4k's. :)

  • @AntiFlowX What I am saying is I think killers might be thinking it is SWF because of how they play, but realize they actually are not.. And if you had proof at the end, you could know 100% if you were right or not. Then you could kind of come up with your personal statistics on what you are facing. I'd love the dev's to post the statistics all the time, but I think that's kind of tedious most likely. I feel if we can get a better understanding of whats really going on, we can find a better solution. Because I don't see lobby dodging on either side, helping this game grow if it takes an hour just to get into the game. I mean matchmaking alone is atrocious. I'd rather just face people I don't like than stare at the screen "finding a match".

And to be honest i dont care if there will be more Lobby dodging then.

The dev's do care, and they have stated somewhere they don't like when survivors do it against killers. They definitely don't want killers doing it to survivors. So, I don't think they are going to implement anything that can assist with dodging. So even if SWF becomes/is a problem I think there needs to be an alternate solution.

But for real tho... franklin's.... love it o.- lol

  • @Xboned Aww. Thank you for sharing that, it is so awesome! I love it!

@Darkskies I am the same! I try to play fair and honest, but then I call them "trolls" just want to complain and throw shade/insults. It really became apparent to me when it happened when teams of all 4 escaped and they were just harassing me basically. And it is very upsetting. Because I try my best to play fair and nice and I really want to give everyone a great gaming experience, it's like being completely misunderstood. What I learned is just be happy with myself and how I played. Not anyone else, how I did, what I did. Mistakes happen, but If I feel good about what I did. I don't feed the trolls and just stay positive and some teams out there completely understand, and still have fun just like me, win or lose. :)

    @UlvenDagoth Yay, pledge buddies! hehe

@DBDbuildsYT OH ya, I agree. It would be way more fun. 1. for not feeling harassed and 2. I enjoy the games more when everyone had a good time, if it's apparently one person is upset/salty and taking it out in a toxic manner. It's just not as enjoyable for me. I don't like seeing people upset.

@grtf47 As far as tbag and stuff, I personally feel like its more what is your intent behind it, if its just to have fun and stuff thats okay, like honestly, I never take tbag personal AT ALL. I think that alone will help people enjoy the game more, just don't care. If you are trying to be mean spirited about it that idk about. That's great you don't insult through chat, I know with this game that can take a lot, especially while playing killer, because people will try to provoke you. I take it like two ways. Either they are just human and are upset with what happened and are going through emotions, or they are just trolling wanting to incite you for their own twisted laughs/game. I just don't give in to that. I may say something if I think they are upset in efforts to calm them down like be nice, like hey, it isn't personal buddy. It's just better to stay positive and spread those positive vibes, because the last killer/survivors they faced may have really got to them and they are just kind of extra "sensitive" this match and such. Ya, never know.

@Maelstrom10 Oh, ya. Standing up for others will get me to speak up/act too.

Whether your a survivor or killer, or a flex player we all should spread love and good sportsmanship.

    I like this a lot!

  • Survivors can use keys as well. I think that's enough to try to go for hatch. Either luck or pay attention to your surroundings to find it. As for opening a gate sometimes the best approach is right away, and sometimes its good to wait for the killer to go back to the other door. Some people start it a little bit and stop before the light turns on and hide again, and then try to finish it etc. Also there is a perk, that opens the doors faster.

It's possible, but not easy. And it shouldn't be completely easy.

This idea seems to really hurt the killers who have no ability to travel fast, because some killers can travel faster..

Having 3 ways out and also 1 way being extra fast to go through doesn't seem that beneficial to balance. (And again.. there's keys if you just want to jump in).

  • If you buy legion, it comes with Frank and also Julie correct? When you prestige can you prestige both of those? Or only one?

  • @THEFREAK420 idk who you are talking too. but. If survivors are swarming all around the hook, I don't consider that camping at all. I think the words have different meanings to people and causes misunderstandings to happen. I don't think killers are idiots for "running" around either.. You don't HAVE to do anything. If you want to play a certain way that goes along with the rules, than GL to you. However, that particular type of play style is what creates perks like DS, and BT etc. Which is what started the topic.

And I agree people should not be bound to someone else's set of 'imaginary' rules for playing any video game.

  • @Parblaze

You don't have to justify yourself here.

Send in the ticket and talk to the responding person.

Don't worry about anyone else on here. We don't know what happened. It could be an error or mistake. That is between you and the dev's. Just talk to them, you might have to wait a bit. But they should get back with you as soon as they can.

I main Legion. This choice has forced me into things I don't feel good about doing cause I have to deal with not only my own power being a crippling effect but Survivors taking advantage of it. I hate even slugging honestly, but ya gotta do it sometimes. (Even more with DS) Or tunneling... i've been told I tunneled cause the guy that had BT body blocked his friend when i had STBFL so I could hit him fast enough.

Yea, I mean I am the same way. I try to play as "fair" as I can as killer, but holy moly, do I get taken advantage of. I feel forced to play a little "meaner" sometimes, and honestly, sometimes you just need too get out of your "comfort zone" to an extent.

I just try to focus on what I do, and if I feel good about what I did and how I played, than ya, doesn't matter if they want to talk trash to me about how I played.

Overall, It's definitely a learning curve and I am trying to find that "good balance" and hopefully the survivors can see that I was trying to be fair and tried making a good game experience for everyone involved.

  • Ban appeals are not discussed in public.

Send in a ticket and they will contact you from there.

  • If someone gets unhooked and gets downed.. Then someone else gets hooked. They could just come back to the person that got unhooked and downed (with ds) and pick them up without DS proc because they hooked someone? That doesn't seem great? Or maybe I misunderstand it.

    @THEFREAK420

Stupid people dont deserve more ds attempts.

I don't agree with calling people stupid. And I don't see how it is stupid for survivors going to unhook, as it is a part of the game and that is kind of the general idea of what you should be doing... I like this game because it has counters to different type of play styles, killer and survivor alike. I think because of these perks it makes it worth trying to unhook.

In general people don't play survivor to do 5 gens and escape, they like the chase and interaction with the killer. That makes the game exciting and fun. Also "Winning" takes on different meanings for this game, I assume to you that means a 4k. Do you value your time? I ask because if you did, if you practiced chasing and the rest of the game and got really good at it, you could most likely be one of the killers that can destroy teams at 5 gens still up. Gaining more points at a faster rate, while sharing with others. win/win

I mean you basically admitted that standing around a survivor facecamping them, it gets boring.. so I'm just throwing it out there, that you could change up your gameplay style. You may enjoy it more and you may even make some friends.

    @ASAPTurtle I don't know what being jailed means o.o

I have never been in denial about camping or tunneling.

I'm well aware that nearly every killer will camp/tunnel at some point in a match.

That's not a bad way to look at it actually.

You reminded me, also, it can be very situational vs intentional. As in, the opportunity presents itself, not them (killers) going out of there way to do it (un fun stuff/"tunneling/camping"), and would you expect the killer to throw the game, or pretending to not see certain things. There's a fine line with this stuff sometimes. But goes to what I said earlier, just don't take it personally (even if they go out of there way etc.)

    @UlvenDagoth Thanks :)

    Right, that's exactly it.

The condition has always been and still is "get a merciless victory".

A merciless victory always meant a double pip. You used to double pip by killing all four, but that changed with the emblem system. That's the bit that's different.

Likewise, the survivors have always had to escape to get theirs. There's no varying degrees of escaping. Either you escape or you don't. There's no such thing as a merciless escape.

There's no such thing as a merciless escape.

    ( •_•)>⌐□-□

    (⌐□_□) I will find a way...

  • @GH0ST3D I am pretty sure they will be getting a ban with your evidence.

  • So it really sucks people don't own up to their own actions. That said, people that don't usually feel shame about themselves/their actions. And don't want to admit it. Tunneling/camping is associated negatively and that brings out an immediate defense reaction. So, they resorted to the sort of basic (I call them) "troll" responses.

If they aren't going against the rules, I would just let it go. Let them play how they want. I wouldn't engage in it. It can suck and not be fun. I've made suggestions to make it more fun for the survivor when these things do happen. Because sometimes and I am sure you know there are fine lines to "tunneling" and "camping". Like if you are the last person alive, the killer isn't tunneling you. And if your survivor friend is circling the hook, the killer isn't camping etc. There's a delicate balance.

Also as far as DS goes, if it goes off, that does not necessarily mean you are being tunneled either. Example: 2 people left alive. One just gets unhooked, Killer goes after the person that unhooked, downs them hooks them. Sees the last survivor goes after them, downs them, picks up, Boom DS'ed. Whose the killer going to go after? The Gen? So, it going off doesn't automatically mean the person tunneled. Those are just examples, and people just a lot of the time wrongly call it what it isn't.

As far as the post is concerned, I don't see how gens are involved at  all. I know the usual defense to camping is "do gens". But I think that misses the entire point of being camped, especially facecamped. Isn't fun. And everyone knows this.

If it's any consolation he may have bloodpoints, but he may not have pipped.

Also, when people are playing "bad", just remember they are still human, and maybe had a really bad game before are frustrated and stressed out. And trying to incite a response in the chat, I don't see how that helps anyone. Even if he were to completely admit to it, what would that of done for you? Would you feel like you could make fun of them or make a rude remark, or would you of been like okay take care gg? You know some "trolls", feed of inciting others, they don't care and/or won't ever care. My advice is to not get yourself worked up over it. If you don't have anything nice to say, don't say it. Maybe roll your eyes or something and just leave to the next game. I don't think it's worth it.

    Kill them with kindness :)

  • Some killers will kill and go after the sandbaggers that do that stuff...

Also it is bannable. It's great you recorded and reported it.

Sometimes teammates accidentally sandbag or show the killer where the teammate is, but it isn't intentional. The intent kind of matters here. Why punish someone for not knowing etc. The ones that intentional do, will get banned if you report it. Evidence especially will help.

  • @Yung_Slug That is very amusing. Thank you for sharing this :)

  • I also don't use add ons. I think it's much easier to figure out the add on's that I want to use later once I know what they can and can't do. To know, do I want increased or decreased whatever it is etc. What would help me or be "fun" etc. Further, not using add on's lets you save on bloodpoints too. Win/Win!

The best practice is to not rely on anything. Like if you can go both add-on'less and perk'less you are pretty skilled at that killer. And frankly should give yourself a good pat on the back cause holy crap that is awesome! :)

If another survivor does an unsafe unhook everyone is impacted. It’s a very fun mechanic.

Oh wow, I didn't even think of that.. good thinking!

Yeah, I can get on board with that 🙂

If you're interested in the statistics, they were shared in this post several months ago: https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/61114/community-community-data-requests#latest

The main facts of note with relation to SWF are (a) The survival rate for a member of a full SWF team is only about 5% higher than that of a solo player, and (b) SWF teams make up less than 50% of all games, with 4-man teams being only about 5%.

Oh wow, that is awesome! Thank you for linking it, I appreciate that. I don't always get a chance to check out the forums much. And I've never seen that. That is really cool they did that for everyone. This definitely puts things into a better perspective overall.

..I hope they do more stuff like this, so I can geek out on it. haha!

  • So. It's most likely going to be earned/free cosmetics... I won't complain... But this is kind of why I suggested this:

I was just thinking it would be awesome if we could earn points to buy the last years skins, as well as the new skins that I assume will be coming out. (Seeing as last years are buyable anyways).

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/92721/regarding-upcoming-halloween-event-2019

That way for those that missed out on last years and/ or may not like this years, have options for their "presumably" free points.

I just want to say. We aren't "entitled" to free skins and stuff. And I am sure the dev's spent a lot of time creating and making these skins, like it or hate it, I am glad they are offering these to us. Also, they most likely will get to all the characters for Halloween in the years to come, if your favorite character didn't get it this year, don't worry! :)

  • I don't think it means what they think it means...

    But that isn't camping.

  • I sense this will happen... when you least expect it...
