@ShrekIsHot Nice post! I think this is very useful information.
Learning a game and developing skills takes practice, don't get discouraged and always feel free to ask for help and advice.
@Alba And I third that lol.
Usually when you are right on top of the survivor the instinct is to HIT, but if they have dead hard, then you miss them and they get away possibly to another pallet or loop. Versus if you are on top of them wait a few moments for them to use it and if they don't WHAM. Also, there are "360's" where they try to make a circle and get the killer to miss as well. Just wait... lock on... nab 'em. And don't feel bad about yourself if you miss, it happens. Just practice. :)
-
@GrootDude Thanks! <3 GLHF! :D
@PyroDude I agree!
-
@ShrekIsHot Oh, for sure. Things definitely can get carried over.
@NoShinyPony I can see that. Also, reminds me that there are some games that automatically ban and kicks you for saying certain words, which are completely inappropriate and uncalled for etc. That might not be so bad to see. There's certain things people should not 'get away' with doing or saying.
-
With the dedicated servers there should also be more punishment to DC. So, I expect it to happen less often. I also recommend black wards. This achievement is like by far the hardest to get because of those reasons mainly, however when you do get it. It certainly feels like an achievement.. so that is something :x
-
@thrawn3054 @ShrekIsHot Short and to the point!
@NoShinyPony True, but people can change. But as long as you try your best not to go to there as well, you can stop perpetuating the cycle. And maybe more people can follow suit. Lead by example type thing. Have hope and stay positive, and most of all don't let them get to you :)

Best solution I can come up with is base it on killer movement. Say 5 minutes without moving triggers egc. This would prevent people playing legitimately from being unfairly punished.
I remember a couple of times where the game went very long because I was looking for the hatch. The one the killer DC'd. I'm pretty sure he thought I was just holding the game hostage. But I was actively trying to find the hatch. The other I was hanging around the barn on one of the Cold Wind Farms maps because I swore I heard the hatch. It was actually on the opposite end of the map. These were both when I was a complete noob. Also examples of people trying to play legitimately while likely being misinterpreted.
Great examples! And this is what I was thinking about as well. You can't just say "not touching a gen" necessarily. Survivors could still be legit playing, but it is not interpreted as such, and its easy to think that because you don't know what the opposing side is doing. I've seen maps where killer spawned in AFK, maybe real life or something happened I don't know, but survivors do gens and walk out. My current thinking of a solution is to try to tie it in with the killer/moving/afk and/or with how long the match is in total, like an endgame no matter what. Like a match taking 1hour for example, seems a bit excessive to me..... either you kill em or you escape. Let the entity sort out the mess! lol
-
This is a good example of the current pip system. I'm glad you posted.
As far as disconnecting and stuff goes, there should be guaranteed SAFETY pips... Why? Because your actions were to try to play the game, ranking is supposed to be based on PERSONAL skill, not others, and if others are DC'ing that's not a good judge of YOUR personal skill.. so why get punished that way? It only messes with the rank and skill levels and further dis-proportioning them, in my opinion. I think it needs to be re-worked.
-
@Clockso lol, or ghostface. I had a ghostface killer one game and he chased survivors (including me) while "tbagging" was the funniest thing ever. I could not stop laughing. Loved it. I like being "silly" in games.
@Boosted_Dwight Thanks! And great idea! I like not furthering negativity and making people think about their own actions... at least maybe. Trolls will troll.
You can only control yourself. :)

In general I wouldn't say they are stronger. I mean SWF teams are not unstoppable. I've seen many killers wipe the floor with SWF teams. I've seen random teams that acted just like SWF if not better even... I get the odds of them being more coordinated are higher, but I'm thinking about the killer as well. You also don't know for sure if every SWF team is using voice comms either. (so that's hard to determine)
I agree with you that it's not overpowered, but like. Idk. At first I thought maybe the same, voice comms were an advantage over killers and made it unbalanced. But I just don't think it's really that unbalanced. Comms can save from using some in game perks. Like kindred. Hey the killler is facecamping me just do gens. And such. The thing with voice comms, the reason why I don't like it is it hurts the sounds of the actual game, and you can miss things. Like footsteps and small subtle details like that. That to me seems like a disadvantage.
About the dodging, I take that to be killers don't want "challenge", they want an EZ 4k game or something (but again I think some swf are EZ). But that doesn't help you get better at the game. I also think survivors dodge too, when they think its a "tunnel or camping" killer or w.e else they have on their I don't want to play against this guy reason. Sometimes it is just the ping etc.
And I may be biased due to my personal experiences like when I first started playing. In short, I was able to learn and adapt my playstyle. (Like bringing franklins! lmao) And Idk. I still had fun (the super coordinated/tech using one all died. lol.). And I also got wooped by teams, randoms and swf's alike, it happens.
BUT if we were talking facts (which I don't know the actual statistics.) But if its less of a survival rate than randoms or even equal, that doesn't seem unbalanced. I am fully aware it might "seem" that way, which I think the Dev's should address, and when they do, I hope we can just see oh okay, I thought they were but they werent or vice versa. So, if the fact was the survival rate was WAY higher than randoms or something, I would start thinking it needed to be balanced or something was going on that may need to be looked at.
If there isn't swf, you will get people trying to Q and un-Q up in lobbies just to get the same lobby. You can't stop voice comms, especially if the friends are in the same room. It's kind of like saying we are going to make alcohol illegal. People will find a way to get it. It's going to happen, but we can try to make it a positive. I think a great step is finding out, hey was it ACTUALLY an SWF, (which could potentially help ease the killers mind as well), and go from there.
I completely get it can be frustrating, but I really just take it as a learning experience and a great opportunity to improve my game-play.
-
@UkilledLegion From what I can understand that you are saying.
How I view SWF, is and from the statistics as well. That SWF realistically killers are not facing that often. And if killers were able to tell if it was an SWF (after game). You would realize that the teams you are thinking are using "voice comms" and "unbalancing" the game aren't actually SWF at all. I've seen completely random people working GREAT together and it appeared that they were SWF, but weren't. I'm saying I think a lot of teams people are mistaking them for being SWF...
Also the point of the game is 4 survivors working TOGETHER to escape. 4 survivors are a team regardless. So, I don't see that aspect as an advantage. I understand swf is generally more coordinated, but even if you took out SWF I think survivors would still be as coordinated and "annoying" like you think. But it is way more fun when you are among friends you know. Their are perks as said above, kindred, bond. That help with coordinating already. People don't need comms to play the game effectively.
I don't think SWF is unbalanced and I'd gladly play against them. (Infact I do!..... sometimes with franklins tho ;) hehe ) I also try to make the most of bad situations, and trust me I've been there. I get the frustration of it all. But I don't think statistically/factually the frustration is what it may appear to be, if that makes sense.
I wholeheartedly believe that if the dev's let people see who they were facing, killers would have a better understanding of how the game went and why it went the way it did, as opposed to just assuming and blaming it on SWF. And hey, if the facts are there and support that SWF is unbalancing the game and it is all SWF, I'd most likely change my opinion.
-
@will_i_am_14_85 That's a great idea.Thank you for sharing!
-
lol Thank you! :D

@__Panda__ Don't buy. I HIGHLY suggest waiting for the perk you want. Bloodpoints are far easier to obtain than shards. And especially because you said you only just started playing. Daily rituals will give you a good amount of bloodpoints and shards are not AS easy to get.
There could be something you want that is on a killer or survivor that you don't own and that you really want. And might save you from buying that character (if it isn't one you want, but you want the perk.) If that makes sense :) ALSO. You may want the character and those cost quite a bit of shards, so saving them will be hugely beneficial to you in the future. And gives you way more options to work with. Be it characters, shrine perks, cosmetics...
Learn from my mistakes, when you want shards and don't have them, it sucks lol.
GL and also welcome to the forums! :)
-
Did you check after the game to make sure they were running it? Did you notice a difference between a survivor that ran it and didn't? I haven't seen any issues with it, but bugs do happen.
It is only intended to make walking speed a bit faster as well as seeing your own scratch marks. It's not meant to add to sprint burst speed or anything else. So, if it is aiding in something else I'd say that is a bug. Which can happen.
Also if you are playing Demogorgon ( who is awesome btw good choice :) ! ) There's a little trick you can pretend to use your power, some survivors will start "wiggling" or squirming around trying to "juke" it and when they do that gives you time to catch up.
GL! :)

SWF is to play with your friends(co-op is fun), SWF is not always a "good" team.
I do think the dev's should allow killers to know if it was SWF after the match.
I think a lot of killers out there would realize they faced less SWF than they realize ( especially if the stats are true, I haven't seen them.) And even if it was a swf sometimes its just 2, not a 4 man squad. When I play survivor it is solo, and I find a lot of teams we just get super coordinated. And perks help like bond etc. I mean survivors ARE a team... they SHOULD work together regardless of SWF or not. That is kind of the basic part of the game, is it not?
As far as being overpowered and such, I think SWF can add challenge, and I've seen AMAZING squads, get utterly destroyed. I think it really just depends on the killer and your play-style and the ability to adapt, especially in game. I think this is crucial as killer.
I think a lot of frustration and confusion would be eliminated if killers could just know after the game if it was SWF, and I think a lot more people would not complain as much.
As far as dodging and matchmaking, I can see your point. The Q times can be long and insane. I spend half my ability to play if not more some times, just in the lobby... or not EVEN in a lobby... the pre lobby matching.... That is very frustrating as well and just adds to the stress of people, which I can understand. I have only a limited time to play games lately, and when I do I just want a match! And not to mention the times you get into a game and it forces you to disconnect or game crashes. Etc. It can be frustrating. I know they are trying to fix this though.
My suggestion is if you are in a match and it seems really unfun or boring. Try something new, try something you never thought of or out of the box. Even if you just decide to go around meme'ing lol. Just try to make the most of it and enjoy it as best you can, regardless. Also- If you don't want to just "dodge", if I see the survivors bringing a lot of items, mostly if its all 4 with flashlights or something, I just toss on Franklins... *whistles* :)

@Fibijean Honestly, I think there's just a basic mix of toxicity on each side. I will never condone lying, but that's just me. They could just as easily not say anything as opposed to lying about it. If someone is being toxic, I don't recommend conversing with them further. I have not seen actual statistics on survival rates, that would be interesting to see. In general I do not think "swf" is stronger, sometimes it's just people wanting to play with their friends. Now if its a team that has thousands of hours in the game, I could see them being stronger to go against, but still not unstoppable, so I agree with you there.
I think the thing is knowing how to play, or how you could of played the game, like if you see one survivor that found your totem, you know he saw it. But not the rest, but SWF, "Hey its right there! go get it" etc. It does make playing matches a little differently, but at the same time I don't think it's overpowered and I believe that killers can combat that, with their own strategies, which they can develop over time. Especially knowing "hey that team I faced was SWF and they are acting similar to this team, let me try doing this or let me go back and check my totem again" etc. I do see a lot of killers thinking it is "OP" (overpowered), and I disagree. In fact they might just think it was SWF so really they aren't facing that many swf's in actuality....
I think swf adds a certain level of challenge, and can still be "winnable". -- And I also don't think you need certain killers to kill a 'good' swf team. I think it is variable and depends on the person, and who you are good with. You can't win them all. You won't "lose" them all either.
It was already mentioned, but telling killers if its swf beforehand would mean more lobby dodging which I know for a fact the dev's do not want to condone. So, that won't happen. However, after the game, I don't see an issue about it. And if survivors try to act all "tough"/toxic about it, killers don't have to take the bait. And if the SWF was good, they can leave/ let the salty killer stew, no need to add toxicity to chats. I think we need a better way to deal with toxicity in general. I don't see this in particular as adding toxicity to the chats already. If anything it might actually help it. If the team was just good and killer is complaining about SWF, he wouldn't even go there if he knew. But again that depends on the individuals.
I'm secretly hoping the majority of the community will take the GLHF pledge and just chill and relax and make the games enjoyable for everyone involved and be understanding and considerate of other players. We are all humans, we make mistakes, but we can learn and get better and also be better as individuals and to others. /end ramble.

Why, though? It's not like it affects the game at that point, so it would purely be for the purpose of allowing the killer to justify spewing the same insults at a SWF team that he would ordinarily at a group he merely suspects of being SWF.
Because people lie. People will lie about being a coordinated SWF team, and when you are still learning and practicing the game, that is good to know how you could of played and done things differently to learn and get better at the game. (And I've literally watched people lie about it ... like really GOOD teams... just will straight up lie to the killer when they ask, like.. I don't understand the benefit). Insults about it on the other hand, is garbage and shouldn't be happening. Same with survivors insulting the killer back saying hahhaa we are solo, when really they aren't ... is just the same. I've seen and heard it all. I see nothing wrong with letting this information be known, personally. -- Further if a SWF team is insulting the killer for how they played, you will know they are just completely trolling. etc. Killers aren't the only toxic people. And if they get rid of end game chat entirely(if at all? idk.), it really won't matter to be able to know it.
I also think that killers should not be allowed to see names until the end of the match either, and they need to make a anti stream sniping ability.
-
I am in full support of letting killers know who was in SWF team(s) at the end of the match.
-
I'm totally down for adding more HUD indications for those that select it, like a beating heart in the corner (beats = killer nearby etc). That'd be really nice for those that need it. :) Great post, great idea!
-
@Ark_the_Bonsai I'm pretty sure they are doing a Halloween event. But I can't really confirm a source at the moment. I know they are planning something at the very least.

So, what I am thinking... if the killer DOES not move for a length of time, and the gen does not get touched for a certain amount of time... maybe their auras or EGC should just auto start up. 20minutes is insane. 40 is just dumb. I've been trying to think of the best way to counter this, but I can't quite think of a perfect "way". -- I'd say if a survivor doesn't touch a gen, however I don't know I'd have to think on that more.. I started writing a HUGE paragraph and was like meh. I just don't know about that. But my idea is that if a killer isn't MOVING there's zero threat. And a gen should be able to be touched easily. So, idk.
I've been thinking about making each game ONLY last a certain period of time as is, but there's so many variables its really hard to kinda say how long a match SHOULD take... especially when you have slowdown freddy etc.
Honestly, if you had reported those 2 especially when they admitted it. They most likely would be banned. So, definitely take future note of crap like that. It sucks there's no recently played with for the game like via steam. And ingame, I don't think killers get that? Like survivor you can see who you last played with only while the game is running. Close it and that disappears...
I don't know.. It sucks :/ and I wish it didn't happen either. And I know it does happen a lot. I just don't personally know of a great way to stop it. Other than somehow allowing EGC to initiate, with or without hatch being there.
-
Thing is survivors can easily abuse that, and be near the hook or do chases and loops around the hook etc. Forcing the killer nearby "to camp". Problem is some camping isn't actually camping. Like if all 4 survivors are there... is it really camping? no... why would the killer leave... etc. Even if its just one person, if they are looping him right near you, that's more on the fault of the survivor not bringing him away so the hooked person can get saved. You kind of have to make these things specific and that's really hard to do for this type of game when things are a little broader... Like its not a perfect cookie cutter thing.
-
The saw draws power from the face and bubba has 2
And have you seen bubba? He swings that saw so madly, he don't even know where he is going. Billy is more cool, calm, collected, He's focused, straight shooter. It's all in how you wield it. *nods*

Yea it really sucks to have to use a perk slot. On a plus, if you use deliverance or slippery meat and get off the hook it will add to your achievements! Usually if I am frustrated with something in game I'll switch builds than switch back later. Like right now its slugging, so its like tenacity and unbreakable baby here we go :D lol Just try to make the most of it, and when its not as annoying to you, switch em up again. :) I'm sure sooner enough you'll find better teammates more often you won't need to use it so much. (but never know...)
-
I think they are talking about actual facecamps and tunneling killers. As in not killers who are getting swarmed by all the survivors at the hook, so obviously the killer remains there while you unhook... (aka That is not camping...).
Like don't unhook in front of the face of a facecamper... Eh. I mean sure you can leave them to die... But survivors get bored. Exciting/fun gameplay is actually being able to interact with the killer. Not load into the game, do 5 gens. leave... That's boring. If that was what this game was about I wouldn't play it. So, survivors do try to go for saves, interact with killer etc. BT helps but only within terror radius, DS helps and can buy you and your team slightly more time, so its something.
I think people get very confused with tunneling and camping because it means different things to many different people. If you first hook facecamp someone until they are dead... thats not fun for that person. When you target one person, even If you are so fixated you throw the game JUST to tunnel someone to death when they do get off the hook repeatedly. That's still not very fun for that person either....
I see a lot of people saying things like "they don't DESERVE this or that" and its like.. The game isn't dictated by your emotions.. its a game.. I just don't agree with that thinking. People will play how they want and are allowed too, to an extent (as in bannable offenses are not allowed etc). However, if a majority knows that something isn't fun, regardless of it being "ok" to do.. I think making it more fun or give some purpose to make the game and overall experience BETTER for people, would be ideal to see happen.
TLDR: So you can play how you like (per rules of the game), but still offer some sort of fun or enjoyment, in some kind of way. That is what I personally would like to see happen regarding this stuff.
-
Thinking about we'll make it, is not a teachable. So, it would make better sense. I think combining 2 teachable's especially from different characters won't be good. (and seems unrealistic to happen)...
I thought the dev's intention was to make the perk slot, entirely about points. So its your choice if you want points or "something useful". Like yes it would be great to get the useful and points... but idk. I guess I am more curious now why the dev's chose this approach, if not for that.
Also, No one left behind is only for points as well.
-
Why don't we just take all the perks and combine them into one perk. #SeemsBalanced
There's a reason things are separated, to not make things over powered. I would love certain things to happen, but I don't see it happening. If we started combining certain perks because they "fit" together instead of just making a build and just using them together, I'd hate to think where we'd be left at. And the whole idea is only to save an extra perk slot. /shrug.
But seeing other survivors or something seems comparable to BBQ and it doesn't seem super unbalanced. It's not always easy to judge certain things without testing it either. BT would help with people that just go around farming others, who don't run BT, but then again I check what they have and they don't even use WGLF either..... so I don't know...
I think the dev's wanted people to take different perks and fit them together making their own builds, they didn't intend to just start combining them. But maybe they might.... who knows... This game will be around for a few more years I am sure. But I doubt it.. /shrug.
EDIT: When I said I doubt it, i mean I doubt they will combine old perks together into one.
-
Thing is with legacy.. people EARNED that stuff... they worked hard for it... I respect that.. To NOW just give that to everyone... its like what was the point then? It would make those that did fight for it wasted their time and effort... if they could of just waited to get it free... I completely understand their reasoning not to now give out legacy. They changed how they do things. And they are allowed. I don't think they are biased at all.
Last event they made it so you earned it (which was NOT that hard... I'm sure way easier then what they did for getting legacy as well back in the day)... but you had an option to not pay 2 win so to speak. After the event.. now you have to pay if you want it. AND before the event they made it clear you could have that option, play to earn it or buy it. WITH That knowledge you could have played and earned it for free, or just buy it. People were given options and acted accordingly. That seems pretty fair to me. (Back then they never said Oh ya you can just buy legacy so no worries... lol.) It's just different is my point.
TLDR: Legacy was way worse to get then the having to throw people on hooks or pick a flower.... like I don't think that's comparable?
On the other hand, I'm all for making new skins, maybe sort of similar to legacy or something.
-
Game chat, can be fun, its not all toxic. It is sometimes nice communicating finally with your teammates or the killer after the match, in friendly/joking ways. Ends up with laughs etc.
The EULA was from May or so, the screen popup was done because of people using switch had issues seeing it.
Also, If you have questions I suggest using the appropriate forums to communicate, which is probably listed in a contact them section, you will have a better chance of getting it answered, most likely.
-
I kind of like the aura idea. We'll make it and borrowed time seems a bit "overpowered" kind of... altho it would be great for BT. I don't see that happening tho.
-
"Campers camp and tunnel for easy downs."
uh..
"After a 2nd hook the survivor should be Broken, Hindered, Exhausted with a -5% running penalty and 5% louder."
Is that not an easy down to you?
Seems like you have an issue with survivors tbagging and looping, and want an EZ mode to down them again. You essentially want a perma insta down for all killers. I mean with that.. its like you know what you want to be realistic? Why not insta kill after first hook. Sure why not.. I mean that is a HUGE wound to have in a body, like realistically... blah blah... It is a game... Realistically me running into a locker ain't going to cure me. Realistically if I were to toss someone on a hook I can't see human aura's around me in a certain distance.
As it is now, when injured they are hobbling and struggling. You want to remove them ever to be healed.. But that makes no sense.. There are medical professionals that exist to help people... And if you got teammates to heal.... I mean it makes sense... getting bandaged/sutured... etc..
Like if you just hate tbagging maybe they can change it so if survivor crouches fast in a certain amount of times they can get an insta exposed or something! lolol. That would be hilarious. Personally I don't care. I just thought of that and thought it would be hilarious to randomly have that happen to someone... (that was more so a joke.) I think I've seen that happen for myers tho. and the karma factor was nice :) But hey, overall. Tbagging aint that big of a deal. You can't really communicate with the killer. I've seen and had people do like 2 tbags or so and meant it as a "thank you". It's also kind of like a dance.. Sometimes I walk around the map like that for kicks 'n giggles. But yes people can make it more "mean" spirited, like at pallets and such. I see it happen alot of the killer tunnels someone, so its them like hah take that!
In EITHER intent, its just better to have more fun and enjoy the game and don't let other people get to you. Don't take things personally in this game. (because people will do that stuff injured or not...) And I'm not SAYING you do... but if you did.... kind of thing..
I think you should play the plague, you might like her o.o She's actually pretty good too.
And also, alot of times people don't get saved. Killers can 4k at 5 gens. Slug wins. etc. So sometimes you don't have to hook much at all, and sometimes you dont even have a chase, if you catch them off guard or in the open, or have someone else using all the pallets etc. Each game is different.
-
Stop trying to slow gens down.... like seriously, no more. Dyling light just got buffed, freddy and his add ons of ABSOLUTE misery... good lord. Enough. Find another way already.
Survivors wouldn't mind another objective to do instead, I've heard that several times over. But slowing a gen down more? It ain't always fun working on gens for 7 years. People want the chases. Having a mix of everything keeps it interesting and fun, but being FORCED on a gen even longer... ugh. No wonder people switch to killer and it takes forever to Q up as killer.
If you can get better without slow down perks, that will be your best way to practice a killer. Any killer. No perks. Nothing. You will learn to adapt and be way better than a majority of killers relying on these kind of things can.
Like what killer has 0 map pressure? Some killers aren't as GOOD... but all the killers are playable at the moment... Like maybe you should be asking for specific advice on how better to play (not to be mean)? You don't always need the best META builds either... You can have fun with others. I guess I'm confused on what you mean like do you have an example, which killer? Because there's probably some good advice out here, that will help you out, is what I am saying.
Also locating targets, takes practice as well. You will get better as you play. Or if you want to add perks, like whispers you'll know. Look for tiny red scratch marks around the place. etc. Just saying there's tips and advice that will help you out, vs gens being even slower (like please no more...). When I first started I couldn't find ANYONE. But then I used a headset... holy crap. I could hear the breathes and the walking, the footsteps, working on gens etc. I knew people were close. Things like that. Pay attention and stay alert.
Lot of time a killer is not creating map pressure they are "focused" (Ill avoid the word tunneling, as that has another meaning) on only one survivor. Maybe he knows how to loop, maybe the area is bad for the killer and he can waste time a lot. Best thing for the killer is look for someone else, drop chase, and not go to certain areas or window loops. Knowing when to chase and when not to is extremely valuable. Get used to all the tile-sets, and learn them. etc.
Just some ideas.
EDIT: I didn't see you also said ruin was necessary at rank 1................. like no... And I said this somewhere else too. I am more worried about the killers that don't use ruin, because those usually end in 5 gen 4ks. I really think not relying on other things (perks/addons), and just practice will be the best advice for these things.
-
That's pretty basic standard EULA talk and the "Don't hold us liable" kinda thing. /shrug.
Also, more likely because people that don't know any better can and will accidentally change things that they shouldn't. and Yea. so. Can have risk.
-
Personally, if someone is going out of regular/normal gameplay.. That to me is toxic. Like repeated mori spam, holding someone hostage, and other things that are also bannable. etc.
-
I agree with @TragicSolitude
I don't think it is toxic to play the game using items/perks that is in the game. If it's a part of the game, it's fair use. I think more of the problem is people take things too personally. If the dev's choose to remove them or alter them in the future that's their decision, but right now it is what it is. Try not to let it get to you.
Don't hate the player, hate the game?

You can't delete, but you can edit and then delete it from there but you have to add something I think you need at least two characters for it to post. like ".." or something. Just FYI. And I am pretty sure you could re-upload as well, either at the same time or later on. I'm not too sure I guess about that, I only just started reading/using these forums myself. :)

I think someone recommended hold the space or something to "give up" otherwise have it on auto.
But yes, please remove it. I like my keyboard and mouse to not need to be replaced as quickly.

Someone doesn’t reach stage 2 in a few seconds lol. This perk would punish those who unhook you right in the killer’s face.
If you were all hovering around the hook, then that was you acting stupid. Why would the killer leave that area if you’re all there? Why would the killer not hook the recently unhooked to secure that kill but go for the others first? Killer had no fault here, just doing their job. You guys just didn’t play this well.
Borrowed time is to punish the campers, now we need something to punish the farming teammates. The latter is way worse.
My scenario was regarding punishing a survivor in general for "unsafe hook" as in the killer near/closeby the hook, maybe even facecamping. But ya sometimes teammates decide its a great idea to loop right next to a hooked survivor. Sometimes they even bring the killer TO the hook. But if the killer is close, the survivor trying to save shouldn't be punished for that. And I am not saying a killer chasing survivors nearby is camping either.... That definitely is on the survivors for creating that situation.
If you want to talk about unhooks within the first few SECONDS of being hooked... There are plenty of situations that it is very beneficial to unhook someone FAST (some I already mentioned). Like exit gates are open, and the killer gets someone hooked, maybe its right at the gate, lot of times everyone can survive but if you want to punish that person for an quick unhook, then at least one or both would then die. Because the unhooking person can't bodyblock anymore and its just 2 easy downs. Maybe one can escape... But this kind of scenario happens a lot. And frankly, if there was punishment, most likely people won't get unhooked and they'd just leave at that point...
" Why would the killer leave that area if you’re all there?" <- If you were talking about what happened in a game I explained about, the killer could have easily killed someone else, and also literally all of us. And I definitely didn't insinuate he was camping. He was just tunneling someone. Who promptly RAN AWAY, while WE all stayed around the killer. We were bodyblocking even. But he managed to get around... He completely disregarded anyone, but the one he was fixated on... He had easy kills.. He just wanted that person instead... Like he COULD have legit 4k'ed at that point....... People love to argue that obviously killers go after the injured person even if its a tunnel... How does it make sense to not kill an injured person that is standing right in front of you?.. I mean that was an easy slug situation... Regardless we were able to buy the survivor some extra time to play the game, so to me it was a success, and working together as a team is great to see, especially with randoms. Hopefully the dead person, felt good that we tried for him. Perhaps I didn't explain it clearly...
And if a teammate actually uses BT, I don't really consider it being farmed, EDIT: I'm removing this portion because I think we have different meanings of "tunnel" (
unless its like a tunnel situation). It also doesn't ONLY help with campers....I do agree that there are farming teammates that really don't care about being safe in their actions regarding their teammates. But I don't see this as a fix for it. And it seems like it punishes good actions/efforts in other situations. But that's just my opinion.

That's not a great idea in my opinion, because if you both are injured... one of you is getting slugged while he goes after the other... then mostly likely both of you will be down and re-hooked... the better idea is to have the healthy person take the hit so the injured can get away.
Also, I completely disagree that "tunneling" is because of or "usually" because of a bad teammate doing unsafe unhooks. I would sooner call that... a bad teammate doing unsafe unhook, I don't even get mad at the killer at that point. Like that's completely different to me (and hopefully many others who know the difference between tunnel and unsafe rescues)... Also, some people will legit "tunnel" regardless of injured people nearby. I just played a match we witnessed a tunnel on a person all of us were there. We all took hits even to try to stop it.. we all were injured at the point they got free and we didn't run away, us INJURED survivors continued to try to take hits and body-block, after they were free from the killers grasp, and the killer instead of knocking someone down blatantly ran past to get the one person he desperately wanted.... If he wants you, he will go for you regardless, is my point. (And further, after he downed him he didn't even go after us - we did not leave -... he went to hook him right away... could of easily ended the game most likely but getting that guy was I guess more important?) BT can help be a deterrent, but not always. There is LEGIT tunneling in this game... yes people wrongly call and say "omg i got tunneled", but realistically no they didn't, and there's different versions of what tunneling means to different people. I get it. Tunneling is a thing. That's why its complained about so much and disliked.
Also teammates sandbag. It sucks but it happens. And sometimes it is an accident. If it was ever intentional or considered helping the killer level of actions, that is actually a bannable offense.
And if you are talking about getting unhooked RIGHT away, that can be a counter to a few killer perks. Like make your choice and I think devour hope as well right ? If you can pull off a SAFE save right away it's generally better, I have noticed. (Not that most people can, but if they could).
And in general, if you are stage 1 and the unhook is not safe, I would rather someone try to get me off before I reach stage 2. (regardless of killers proximity etc). And if people were punished for at least trying.... that's just awful... And would be abused by killers and most likely lead to facecamping for free exposes etc.

I think there are a lot of new killers, that are relying on perks and slow downs, instead of just learning ways to create map pressure. People recommend the best way to practice a killer is perk-less even. I mean trying to slow the game down is a strategy, but I'd also try other ways and practice different things. I found great advice in youtube videos, and even watching twitch streamers, some are great and also answer questions etc. There's more to just "slowing" the game down. When I play survivor I am more scared of the people that aren't using ruin, because a lot of those games its a 5 gen 4k. It just really depends.
Like my personal recommendation is not relying on any "crutch" and that goes for survivor and killer. Try to go without it, see how you do, practice. There's nothing wrong with using them, but if you practiced without, you will probably be even better with it, or you get better that you don't even want or need those things anymore, and then you are more open to try and experiment with different builds for fun or even a challenge.

I know my game has been crashing and I've been getting kicked I think when it tells me the host/killer dc'ed. But I feel like they may not have and it was just me.... That kind of stuff has been happening quite a bit more recently.
-
I love the map. And I am sorry you lost your offerings. I don't think offerings get saved. I don't know why? Are they supposed to ? Because my offerings get used upon DC which sucks. I hope they fix that.

I think the point of rank reset is if you stop playing for so long, you lose your "skill", so they lower you. Personally, not playing for a few months, I was a potato (bad with the controls, etc), and was in a good rank. So, in that aspect I think it's good.
As far as being killer with low survivors that you CLEARLY know are new to the game. I just take it easy on them if I am clearly better, if I didn't lose any skill or w.e. I get pips and rank up just normal. Even if they all escape. You can choose to be "nice" and try to help "teach" them. Like no one is forcing you to play in a way that you feel bad about yourself... I mean I just have fun with it vs being sweaty tryhard must 4k. And same if I think the killer is new and having a hard time. It doesn't take long at all to rank up. /shrug

It's not fun being tunneled and camped. I think everyone is aware of this, and as it sucks, it will most likely continue to happen regardless. Losing pips for killers that do this may actually entice people to do it, because they may want to derank on purpose.
My suggestions to make this more fun, would be more along the lines of adding more points to survivors so at least if you have to deal with that, you get BP. Like recovering while on the ground/slugged etc nothing (That was mentioned elsewhere on the forum). getting facecamped/killer in range, can get extra points, boldness? lol. Something along those lines, because you really can't stop it from happening entirely. But as mentioned there are perks thankfully that will help to deal with these things.
Not progressing hook tho is a very interesting idea.... I didn't think of that. There is the new perk ofcourse that just came out, which only slows the hook progression. But if killer is facecamping... hmmm. That would definitely stop a facecamping killer, in that he cant camp someone to death and move to the next one and so on, he would actually have to leave or move a certain distance or so... and potentially only guarantee a 1k, if all 3 just leave.

Don't feed the trolls.

@G0lden_Ra1den Yeah. I only started posting and reading the forums and holy crap the things I've been seeing here. Personally, once I read that crap it was borderline cyberbully attitude. Mob mentality. Literally both of them contradicted themselves - one with the whole my opinion is superior to yours attitude and then the other was like hey your doing what the other guy actually did, but I am going to go after you because.. idek. It's just wow.
I'd use @ to a dev/mod or something. Or message one in private maybe? I don't really know how these things work to be honest. Or you can leave it too, like no one should feel bullied or harassed they can't ask a question and such. But, whatever you feel comfortable. with honestly. I'm sorry it happened, and good luck to you :)

Sounds get majorly screwed up, so it wouldn't surprise me.
-
So, do you mean these perks instead of the current perks, or straight up adding these effects to the current perks?
Because WGLF currently is the extra point one, I'd sooner have more BP than 10% in a match o.o Unless you mean points + 10% bonus?
-
Except every survivor doesn't or can't evade. Just because a few good survivors maybe can and know how doesn't mean the entirety can, and its also not 100% dodge either.... There needs to be a balance with these things. And same goes for killer too, you need to actually aim, there is not AUTO down someone button, you got to know what your doing. You can't expect survivors to hand themselves to you. A lot of it is mind games as well. Just faking the attack, gets you closer to the survivor because they are trying to swerve around etc. And good aim shots take practice, and don't forget the mind game potential.
Demogorgon is a pretty good killer as is, imo. I don't know why people keep calling for buffs. He's not a billy, that's true. He is demogorgon and is good in his own right. They made him really well I think. I just personal like playing him as he is.
