  • I don’t think you’re focusing on the real problem with SWF. The problem with SWF is their ability to have one person distract the killer while the other three do generators so at least three are done before the first hook. Then the coordination leads to one person being designated to save the hooked one while the other two continue on gens (or one distracts the killer). It’s the ability to instantly coordinate and designate roles so there’s no overlap that makes SWF strong. Bond or a totem tracker or whatever wouldn’t fix that.

Solo queue sucks purely because of how often there’s overlap in what people do. A person gets hooked? Usually more than one survivors runs in for the save. Oh someone just got injured? I guess I’ll stay here crouched behind something not contributing. Once more people get better at understanding what should be done at different points of the game, that’s how you bring solo queue up to match SWF.
Totem tracker would be nice for solos, so everyone knows if all totems are gone or not instead of wasting time searching totems who already got destroyed.
  • Platform? If pc just get the perks you need first and start with nurse

Very low resolution I guess.. I mean, the trailer was looking like 360p lol
  • Default bond? Devs were thinking about default kindred only, let's get that first before even thinking about default bond beeing a good or bad thing lol

Myers for me its top 5 killer with pig in the same place. Yeah, he needs some little buffs to be great again but it's not as bad as Wraith, Trapper, Legion, Clown, Freddy etc.

Top 5 with pig? Lmao, I don't want to know how the rest if your tier list looks like

    Nurse
    Billy
    Spirit
    Hag
    Pig & Myers
    Huntress
    Wraith
    Legion
    Doctor
    Clown
    Leatherface
    Trapper
    Freddy

    here u have

If only that was true but in reality Myers has nothing going for him. He is better at mindgames than most killers but has nothing to help him in chase that much. He has no map presence. Good teams will starve Myers and there is nothing he can do about it because his stalk is busted and it takes a lot of time sometimes. He can be easily pallet looped and can't handle the pressure of time. The only thing that make him somewhat decent are some of his addons but I rate killers with their base kit. Myers used to be solid back in the days but sadly he crumbles under the genrush meta - add DS and other broken stuff os survivor side and your games will be miserable.

Myers and mindgames? i dont think so, pig and spirit are a looooot more good at mindgames than Myers. If you play tier 1 myers with m&a or that purple add on that gaves you no terror radius then he can do some mindgames

Myers is strong at mindgames because his EW3 lunge is longer than any other killer, which gives u a huge advantage for mindgames at tiles
  • Delfador said:

Nope, I am not going to forget this thread.

It needs to happen, terror radius based perks are a joke and they will become viable at last.

    BUMP!

Great job, keep this post up there. We really need this buff
  • @Poweas said:
Can you revert all of his nerfs. He's rubbish now. Please give him UNLIMITED stalking range and let him stalk more than 1 people at once. Revert the nerfs to his addons and give him faster base stalking. It's not fair. Such a cool killer got killed.

I main him...seems fine to me. Those nerfs sound reasonable considering if I had unlimited stalk range then myers would be easily top tier. In most peoples eyes he is still top tier anyways so...

Uhm, yeah we want him to be top tier so he can combat swf groups. What's the issue?

Oh my god. How does nobody see how good Wraith now is? He's amazing now.

Ikr? Wraith with swift hunt and windstorm is amazing and silent wraith is really funny and strong aswell
  • I completely agree with you, but I see one issue with "stalk more than 1 people at once": its going to be difficult to stalk "one tap away" from EW3 if another survivor jumps into the screen, my playstyle on Myers is to pop EW3 only if I'm 100% sure I will get the survivor withing the following 3 seconds
  • Myers can make a great toxic build if you've had enough of tea bagging, purple flashlights, pallet looping gods and messages telling you to go and jump off a cliff.

If I see that I'm up against a SWF group with flashlights, I'll whack on a 'Fragrant Tuft Of Hair' (unlimited Tier 3). Any tea bagging or light flickering then I'll just act like I'm playing around with them and stalk them whilst they're messing around it front of me until I reach Tier 3.

Easiest 4k in the game if you play it right.

The sheer intensity of salt post game is a beautiful sight to behold. Almost on the levels of insidious, basement Leatherface.

This will NEVER work against smart toxic swf groups. Everyone is expecting an unlimited EW3 or tombstone Myers. And if they are so stupid and don't expect it, well I think you could stomp them without addons and perks anyway lol
  • I think we should just accept toxicity in DbD. Majority is already "into it" and won't change their habit. Just make your own rules. Does the killer/survivor deserves toxicity and BMing? Yes? Do it. No? Don't do it.
My preset is always neutral but if my opponent is toxic/respectful I treat him the same (but with limits, I don't harass in post chat)

Myers is the best designed and strongest licenced Killer in the game. He's currently just really F'ed up because of the new engine which doesn't allow stalking at some distance.
    Defenetly mid tier imo

I judge killers with their base kit and he's a little underwhelming there.

I played Myers a long time completely naked with the splinter offerings, he was actually the only licensed killer who snowballed like a crazy madman. Pig, freddy and Leatherface are nothing compared to Myers, even with perk and addons. That's my experience with him
  • I love mist offerings for certain killers. Nurse, Hag, legion, spirit, and Wraith all use them and benefit from them. So does the trapper with his traps.

DO NOT remove them, because I love using them as a killer.

Lmao did you just said that nurse benefits from thick mist offerings? I'm dying, I need emergency! Help me
  • The thing is though...if they made killers abilities "good" at base, then add ons would make it OP. So you need a weakish power at base and then scale it with add ons.

It is a strange design choice but I can kinda see what they're doing.
Well obviously you would adjust the addons (-> nerfing them) so at the end it's still nearly the same but just without using addons. Same they did with pigs uncrouch addons
  • They made a good step with the pig change imo, you can play her now without the fast uncrouch addons. Imo these changes should be done with every single Kilker and addons should only boost/buff the power a little bit or change it completely.
  • No, but they can deny you starting M2 with the flashlight which is sometimes really annoying. Same with billy, sometimes they can deny you to start charging up with the flashlight

Rottenfields a stealthy map? LMAO, it's pallet heaven, tons of safety pallets, strong loops, cow tree loops etc etc. U can literally 5 gen run a killer if you know how to. But yeah, you can use stealth on this map sometimes
  • Jesp said:

Because you can break the pallet, something you can't do with windows so there's no reason to have them get blocked.
If you block them to prevent noise spam they'll just use lockers for the same purpose. Just ignore the sounds and be happy they're not doing anything useful I guess.

Exactly, it would be just another band-aid fix instead of actually reworking the sounds so spamming doesn't annoy and distract that much as it does currently

i say, if you cant manage to create a decent port for a console, why bother with another one?

There goes another plaftform Och*do may stream

Damn, didn't thought about before lol. Seems like they are breeding everytime a new platform for him just to ban him again later lol
  • I love this map, Mainly because of the rain and trees. I hate that it hardly ever shows up. It's not that bad compared to the corn maps and swamp which seem to have higher probability of getting, at least for me.

Rain ? I never noticed rain in shelter woods, mothers dwelling is the only map with rain or not

You can't label anything you dislike facing as bad game design.

That logic got bloodlust 2 and 3 removed even though if you couldn't lose the killer you were still capable of slowing them down.

Bloodlust is a bad designed mechanic aswell. It just exist because maps and loops are bad designed, it's a band-aid fix and not even a good one

Again with the defensive positions. DS is absolutely awful too. Nobody is defending that.

You can play perkless and be rank 1 if you are good. I don't consider myself a beginner since I can at least accomplish that.

Let me remind you something... Rank means nothing. If you are a rank 1 survivor doesnt' mean you're good, it means that you play the game a lot; that's a thing that a lot of DBD players still can't understand at this stage. The best survivors that i've ever seen were on green and purple ones (and some yellow ones) some streamers are good too and they're not in red ranks for the same reason (Jendenise, Kittychipz, Geistra). In those ranks there are a lot of trash survivors who thinks they're good but can't stand a chase for more than 10 s and all that stuff that I said in my first comment and also tryhard killers but that's another story. If you think you're good just for that maybe you need to re-evaluate your skills as survivor main

Most of the time you see good players at low ranks is because they derank to bully unexperienced killers. If they wouldn't derank, they would be obviously in red ranks

I know but, like I said that's another story. Personally I don't enjoy being a red rank survivor (I dc'ed some matches, i don't wanna rank up so quickly this time). As killer it's fun because you found the worst survivors there (with some exceptions: some SWF's)

Yeah I see where you coming from, red ranks can be exhausting

I will always use urban evasion. The best way to get jobs done is not getting tracked in the first place. Also at max level urban movement is faster than walking by a bit which is great. You urban around do gens, you urban to the lockers to dodge BBQ, and when the coast is clear you burn SB to get someone off the hook and urban away like a ghost in the night. Urban isn't the bad guy here. It is just people who fail to do anything worthwhile.

But how are you going to learn how to loop a killer and waste his time if you never train that? See, I have no issue if survivors don't want to be detected, but the issue I have is that most of the time those survivors are going down within 20 seconds which gives the killer such a huge momentum.
You can't be a ghost the whole match, in some situations u HAVE to bait the killer chasing you because everyone is one hook away to die but you are not, or to tank a hit for mate etc.
Nothing personal tho, Idk how good you are. But my experience is that urban survivors are usually going down to quick once they got spotted by the killer

  • It all comes down to a really bad designed ranking system which is allowing absolutly trash survivors to rank up. Either solo by the wheelchair called blackpip (safety pip) or just getting boosted with the wheelchair called swf. As long as the devs don't figure out how to fix that the solo experience will remain a painful and frustrating experience, nothing we can really change tbh
  • Try out dark souls 1, one of the best games I ever played. The world will amaze you for sure.

B.NOED is easily countered by breaking totems
C.Honestly this sounds like a salt post
D.Admit it, you have used NOED and DS before don't even lie about it

About point B: did you read the post right above yours? Lol
  • @The_Crusader said:

Now before people cry "ClEaNsE tHe ToTUmZ", how about the devs actually make that viable for single player by giving some notification of when dull totems are destroyed? or after doing 4 am I meant to run around the map searching every nook and cranny just to be sure?

    This^
I used to run small game for some short time, clean as many as I can, hope the rest got cleaned and usually ended up with noed up and running and me trying to find it with exit gates open. Because everyone just gen rush and don't bother with totems.
Some totem counter for all would bring solo closer to swf and probably make more people go and do the cleaning.

And that last part there is the real reason why people won't allow it. They don't want the totems cleansed, they want their precious crutch perk to activate.
Well, that's only the short minded people. Isn't it the best scenario when survivors cleanse all totems? Because that means you had more time during the match. But some people just want to rely Noed more than on getting skilled without that
  • Give players more motivation to not DC is the better solution imo

What's your opinion? Did the selfcare nerf helped you to slow the game down or are games even faster done cuz everyone is pushing gens injured? As killer I feel SWF games are ending even quicker than before if they have all adrenalin and noone selfcare. SC hasnt been nerfed, just like DS rework didnt happen and the hatch sloing mechanic has been dismissed

If you guys say that Doc got nerfed because of the changes on Nurse's calling then you must admit that SC got nerfed too since it's related to a healing action.

Who says that? I certainly don't. Only stuff that changed in itself is either buffed or nerfed. SC wasn't nerfed as its values weren't changed. The Doctor wasn't nerfed just because a Perk he has the option of using no longer reveals Snapping Out Of It Survivors. His power wasn't changed.

If anything in that equation, then Nurse's Calling was nerfed.

I agree, but we got several threads of people claiming that Doc got nerfed because of NC. Maybe you didn't, but some others did say that.

About SC its values weren't changed but the healing changes affected that perk indirectly, which is why some people stopped running it.

Because it takes 8 seconds longer to heal? My what an atrocity, must mean the Perk is utter garbage.

And really, it's still omni-present in my games, there are at least 2-3 SCs still.

Are you trolling? It used to take 24 seconds. That was 3/10 of a gen. It was worth healing. Now that is got nerfed to 32 seconds, it takes 4/10 of a gen. That's just dumb to heal. It was before but now it's just blatantly obviously dumb. (Excuse my crappy grammar)

I'm actually quite serious. I don't make such a fuss about 1/10 of a Gen more that it now takes to Self-Care. Gens are still plenty fast and being able to be self-reliant should come at a price. Being injured does little enough as is.

But you realize that the survivors who stopped using selfcare didn't went from 3/10 to 4/10 but straight to 0/10 wasting time and pumping gens? I mean, I'm curious in what region and rank you play that you still see survivors using selfcare, I see only 1-2 using it (and I remember that everyone was using it before the nerf) and those are usually the solos

Same here. Do 4, can't see the last, assume that surely the other 3 survivors have managed to do 1 totem between them....but nope.

I feel like I'm banging my head against a brick wall here. Let me explain...

NOED is harsh on solo survivors but it means nothing to 3/4 man SWF.

Want an indication of when a dull totem is cleansed? - killers won't have it.

Want some form of Kindred as a baseline ability? - killers won't have it

Yet they insist SWF is unfair and they want it removed, yet won't allow anything to make solo survivor more enjoyable.

How about you agree to give little quality of life upgrades for solo survivors so that swf crews can hop on solo and feel they aren't at a disadvantage and might play more solo games?

Killer mains just want everything swung in their favour.

Some form of Kindred as a baseline ability would be so nice. It's stupid that I can see survivors' auras while I'm hooked, which does me little to no good, but they can't see each others' auras, something that would benefit me (and them) way more than me watching them do gens or crouch around. Showing survivors' auras to each other should be baseline and Kindred should be altered so that each tier just shows the killer's aura within a certain distance of the hook. Right now, Kindred tier 1 is completely useless, anyway, and it makes no sense that it even exists.

    Sorry if that's off topic.

But yes, Small Game at least should tell the survivor running it how many hex/dull totems are left on the map. The perk is useful for finding totems and avoiding traps, but it's useless for countering NOED.

How about you just run Kindred instead? Guys stop asking to devs to hold your hand.
Builds work like that, they force you to choose, not to run everything you want.

It's an idea to close the gap between solo and swf. And as far as I remember one of the devs said that the intention of this idea was exactly that. So as closer the gaps as easier the balancing will be
Yeah but i love to play solo and the added challenge as well. I don't want them to make it easier, it's fine as it is.
Playing solo forces me to change my build (i love that) and i can be more focused on what's going on around me.
I see where you are coming from, that's one of the reasons why I play solo most of the time.
But somehow we have to sacrifice things for the overall better health of balancing. That's just my opinion, I only can see a successful balanced DbD AFTER closing the gap of solo and swf as much as possible (without just adding voice chat for solos) and currently the gap is just really huge.

Kindred would be one really big and important step and I think we should at least give it a shot in a PTB to see how good or bad it is.
I see solos and swf the same way i see different killers, they are different difficulty levels. It's up to you which one to choose.
Oh yeah that's for sure, swf is really ez mode if everyone has some braincells lol

Well if someone is destroying a hook right in my face they will get downed (eventually cuz i suck) and put on the hook. I would say im changing target (if im chasing someone already)

Actually it happens also when I'm sabotaging minding my own busieness, often they follow the notification and obsessively try to find me.

Hooks are the only real thing to apply pressure on the other survivors who aren't in chase. It's also the only objective of the killer. Sabotaging removes the pressure + as killer you can't make steps forward to kill someone. Slugging is no real pressure btw.
That's the issue if sabotaging killers have and in hands of SWF it's really frustrating to verse

Hooks respawn, and it's not true that slugging is no real pressure. Defending generators is a way bigger priority than defending hooks, since by the time you tunnel the guy going for hooks the other 3 survivors are free to repair gens. It really doesn't do any good to the killer.

Slugging is no real pressure, the survivors can still work on gens and don't have to worry about a "second stage" like on hook. A hooked survivor forces at least one survivor off the gen to rescue, while as killer you can chase someone else. This means 3 people are not working on gens.

But if you slug, there are 2 people off gens at best. The slugged guy can crawl closer to someone, gets picked after a gen got finished you won nearly nothing from it as killer.

Oh man I could tell you storys man.. Doing 4 dull totems, doing 2 gens, running the killer for 4+ minutes and die at the end because of noed. Really frustrating to play solo survivor... I Really wonder why I still play solo and not just play SWF on coms ..

Yeah exactly, some Killer mains completely lost their mind because of SWF (I don't blame them, it's really stressful) and immediately disagree with everything which buffs solo survivors. But they forget that solos aren't the survivors who are making their games so frustrating. Solos need some special love and it's really time for that. That's just my opinion. Closing the gap is one important and healthy step for future balancing.

Bad game design for bad survivors.

    yawn

How much does Behaviour pay you to defend all of their decisions?

Bad game design is not giving surviors any clue as to how is cleansing totems are how many are cleansed. Lets just have all 4 survivors running around looking for 5 totems, I'm sure we'll manage to get the gens done too.

How many training wheels do you need to accept the game as it is right now?
Noed can be negated before it triggers, if survivors refuse to counter it then it's on them.
Yeah, sometimes the killer is good at keeping the map pressure and you are forced to do gens instead of totems, so what?
So good killers pressure survivors to focus on gens, then they mop up any they missed with NOED. Sounds like a fun game right there.

Pretty much the entire community has been salty about DS and NOED for years now. The entire game can come down to a battle between those 2 perks sometimes it's ridiculous.

Ok I'll do totems and swf then. Oh wait no we cant get a game then because killers lobby dodge knowing their precious totems will be gone!

Is it too much to [BAD WORD] ask for an indication of how many totems are actually cleansed? So that when im running around looking for them I know if im wasting my time or not?
You are basically asking to be feed with a baby spoon. Totem remainings can still be seen.
Just because part of the community complain about something doesnt mean they are right. Actually most of them are people who refuse to adapt and instead want the game to be changed according to their will.
I think you never played in a way to escape WITH your random team mates against a really strong killer. There is no time for 4 solo survivors that everyone searches individually for 5 totems. If everyone makes sure 5 totems are cleansed NOED doesn't matter anyway because till this point the killer had so much time to kill everyone.
  • Killers - defend garbage like NOED, camping and tunneling which encourages people to play SWF

Also killers - Cry about SWF and lobby dodge.

I personally think stuff like NOED and DS has nothing to search in ranked mode. Either only allow them in a casual mode or remove/change them completely. And since I have 0 hope that the devs will give us an alternative game mode there is only the second idea to use

You have to admit that noed is usually only stomping solo survivors cuz of lack of informations, while good/smart swf groups will never have an issue of noed
  • Btw I remember the devs saying that they are going to adjust the addons (buffing them) to compensate the tinkerer change, sadly nothing happened so far and it's some months since tinkerer got changed
