Did you actually read the buff? Because it's more like a nerf if survivors just do their objectives.
I don't understand then how it's a nerf. It's the same + once activated never possible to disable. Clearly a buff, or am I missing something? Lol
-
Really? Imo stuff like NOED, DS, keys and EBONYS shouldn't even exist in the first place. And you just suggest a buff for noed? Come on lad. Don't make it more casual as it already is.

Exactly, they ignore the conditions and penalty after using the perk. It's hilarious when they focus only on the invincibility part of the perk.
But @Nickenzie you forget about how important it is for a killer to keep the pressure and momentum as high as possible to stand a chance against optimal gen rushers. That's the reason why we all knew that reworking DS to a "let them be broken all game after using it" still makes this perk broken af -> you lose momentum (besides it doesn't matter in the endgame anyway).
Trust me my friend, even if you see it balanced because of the downsides: its DS all over again.
-
I was thinking the same, I can't remember they did such a leak/mistake ever before. Pretty sure they are testing how we react. Which is good, because I was always saying to the devs that they should be more transparent towards us instead of smashing stuff into our face out of nowhere.
I hope they make the right decisions. Maybe it's an April fools and they will say "April April" on a stream about that leak.
-
Its a bug, so discussing about that beeing balanced or not isn't necessary.
-
Seems to be solid, decent perk and worth to use
-
What do want us to do instead? Just live with the issues and accept like sheeps?
-
You know that "obsession sound"-notification at the beginning of a match? I really HATED it but now after the rework it's kinda like ASMR for me lol.

Omg what a bunch of cry babies. Flip flop has nothing wrong with it. At all. Literally. And MoM isn’t op at all lmfao and it’s barely like ds. The killer hits you and doesn’t even get stunned, then they just catch up to you again. In most situations it’s most likely pointless and gives the survivors a couple extra seconds. And to make up for the fact that cry baby killers will always cry, they get to see the survivors aura for the whole game until they get downed. Talk about unfair lmfaoo you guys want fair?? Get rid of N.O.E.D, agitation, ruin, one hit killers and invisible killers and so many more things. What about hitting through pallets even when killers get stunned? Survivors need more useful perks. Literally Every time I get back to play this game it’s always the survivor getting nerfed and killers getting buffed, like they aren’t already buffed enough lmfao. Give us survivors a perk to go invisible for 7 seconds? Killers can do it? Not everybody plays in groups of 4 lmfao focus on the casual players.
In that case you would be fine when the killer can one hit M1 anyone after hitting someone 3 times aswell right?
What a stupid logic.

Most problems occur against SWF, solo is way less problematic.
In my opinion, the flip perk is worse than mom
I have mixed feelings about that flip flop perk. I can see how this is a great anti slugging perk, but dont we already have unbreakable (+ slugging nerfed some patches ago)? I find this redundant and it has an insane power in the hands of SWF compared to solos, while unbreakable is "pretty equal" in hands of solos and in hands of SWF

99% in 20 seconds. Thank you for those completely unsupported "statistics". This thread is done for me. If I want to read fiction I'll pick up a fantasy novel.
Carry on.

That is equally ignorant. How do you know they are bad at chasing? Have you observed every immersive player in numerous chases? Every player has a preferred play style.
Its not a fact that immersive isn't optimal either. I've seen many immersive lobbies survive. Now you'll probably say that's because the killer was probably bad in those situations. Likewise I can counter that strawman by saying any gung ho players who was able to go right in and run the killer around were just facing bad killers.
You're making blind assumptions based on nothing. Often immersive style works best. Other times it can be completely useless e.g. against a scratched mirror Myers. So how about you stop trying to label players as bad just because their play style doesn't fit your own.
By observing survivors who prefer to be immersive -> 99% of them get downed in 20 seconds max.

Optimal by whose standards though? I certainly don't care about rank, and as much as I love seeing gold or iridescent, I can hardly care if I was chased at all.
If you can run a killer all game and escape, then that is optimal.
If you can play like you actually feared death and escape, that is optimal.
That is my opinion. But hey, what do I know?
The standard of the current meta: rushing gens and wasting as much as possible of the killers time.

It's not often I agree with Orion and wolf74 on something so strongly, but yeah all of us are in agreement that this perk is disgusting.
The killer has no options with this perk other than to ignore the obsession....so it's basically DS 2.0.
I guarentee this will become a bully perk just like DS was. Deranking swf will use it against new players. Look for it coming soon in a noob3 video near you.
And the worst part is that 0 skill is needed to use that perk, just equip it and hold W lol. Perfect perk for a 4head. Even old DS was requiring more to use it (and hitting the DS skillcheck isn't even hard).

You're missing the point. Disregarding the fact, not opinion, that there are plenty of killers out there who love to camp regardless of their skill level, or lack thereof, you cannot dictate what is more fun for someone to do.
What you find more fun may be the very definition of not fun for someone else. So you going around this thread crowing that immersive gameplay is the wrong way to go as a fun factor is both ignorant and redundant.
And you miss my point that I'm not dictating what should be fun, but trying to explain that those who prefer beeing immersive are just bad at chasing (same with killer who camp are bad) so they can't even know how much fun it is to be good at beeing chased. Not even using the fact that beeing immersive isn't optimal gameplay.
-
Do you see how survivor mains are using the "it's just one time use" to MoM like they did to justify DS?
Oh man, I really can't believe that the devs are planning this. It better be an early April fools or something. If that goes live I lose all hope towards the devs.
-
No.
We need to talk about this NOW so Devs have time to do something else. We don't want a DS 2.0 and wait 2 years for a rework.
I WON'T ALLOW IT.
Just after reworking DS and I thought "finally less annoying gameplay for killers" there is already another bullshit perk in the pipeline.
No. F that.
-
@Dwight_Fairfield said:
You can't tell anyone what is more fun to do because fun is subjective for each person.
For example I'll never understand camping killers because I can't imagine a more boring game than watching a hook for the majority of a match. But if that's what floats their boat then let them camp.
If people have more fun playing immersive style then they have more fun playing immersive style. End of story.
When a killer is extremely good and gets hos 4ks consistently without camping and tunneling BUT still decides to camp cuz that's more fun then fair enough you would have a point.
But 100% killers who camp are either
1. Bad and can't win otherwise
2. Are revenging a T-bagging toxic survivor
3. Have no other choice (endgame)
I don't know a single person who's an extremely good killer but still decides to camp just because it's more fun gameplay for him.

Guess what "aggressive" survivors don't do either? Yup, generators.
Not doing generators is not part of playing stealthily, period.
I think you have a different interpretation of "aggressive" than me, cuz it seems like you see "aggressive gameplay" as all 4 survivors are hovering around the killer looping and clicking the flashlight, bodyblocking etc etc.
Aggressive gameplay is already when you commit on a gen which is nearly done in exchange of getting injured. Just fyi.
-
@Orion said:
https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/375192#Comment_375192
Genrush is the most optimal way to play, as proven over and over again.
Well, guess what immersive survivors not do: yep, not rushing gens. Slowly crouching to a gen, as soon they hear heart beat they lag away not commiting, don't have enough experience at chasing and go early down and give killer huge momentum etc etc
-
@VESSEL said:
Stealthy =/= Useless
Stealth and Gens is a fav strategy of mine. Just because I won't save your ass doesn't mean I'm a bad teammate, as while you're all going for the unsafe save I'll be the one with the gates open ready to welcome you like ######### Gabriel at the gates of heaven lol
With useless many are trying to say "not optimal enough", which can make a huge difference against a strong killer
-
@IamFran said:
Why some people say playing stealthy is useless and assume the people who play that way is doing nothing and just hidding?
I'm a stealthy survivor and I do gens and approach to a hooked mate when it's safe to save him/her. I don't know why I'm useless for the team.
Of course there are people who hide all the trial waiting the dead of their mates and get the hatch, but they are the immense minority.
I think "useless" is just a term people use, in reality they meant to say "not optimal enough"
-
@Orion said:
https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/375160#Comment_375160
IMO, once the gates are open, it should be increasingly difficult to rescue hooked survivors, as opposed to the alternative. At the moment it's low-risk, high-reward. It's absurd.
And I absolutly agree with you. I made a post some time ago how to change the endgame. Not many replied, but here you can see it when you are interested: https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/49705/the-issue-with-exit-gates#latest
Currently endgame is extremely survivor sided, you need specific scenarios as killer to win endgame (basement, Bubba, billy, nurse, far away from gates + most pallets destroyed etc etc)
-
@Orion said:
BT worked just fine when hook rushers used it against me. Maybe stop hook rushing until this is fixed? Just a thought.
But he said "open gates" tho, and usually open gates means the killer camps. And the only way to have at least a chance is to hook rush or leave him dying. BT is bugged from what I have heard, so it's not the fault of OPs playstyle.
-
@Orion said:
https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/375132#Comment_375132
I think it's smart not to willingly get yourself hooked. Says a lot about the balance of the game when handing yourself over to the killer can be seen as a winning strategy.
It's just smart play mixing the tracks of an injured mate who is death on hook till the killer loses him and comits to chase you instead. I don't know what that is saying about balance of the game, you are not supposed to die on your first hook (unless it's a rev-camping Bubba) so why not.
(Btw don't get me wrong, I'm not saying that DbD is overall balanced. I still think that survivors are controlling the match most of the time when they want to and are to powerful in terms of pumping gens.)
-
Not sure if this is sarcastic or serious...
BUT yeah, from a killers perspective it's now nearly a complete different game, the obsession sound is becoming ASMR for me now.
From survivors perspective absolutely good, tunneling idiots will get punished for beeing bad.

Why not? My survival is what ultimately matters to me. You're nothing but a tool to get there and if it's obvious that a game will end with a Hatch escape, I take that.
Pretty selfish, so you don't take the killers attention and get a single time hooked so other mates who are death on next hook are saved? Hopefully you are never my team mate lol. What a terrible playstyle.
-
@Orion said:

I have fun ending chases ASAP, rather than by looping the killer indefinitely. People who play stealthily enjoy stealth more than the alternative. I'm not sure why you're assuming your way is somehow superior.
Not superior, just more fun. It's just my experience how I played the game since release.
At the beginning I played super immersive and was scared. I got caught fast when found. So I thought I have more fun playing immersive.
Over the time I got better and better at getting chased and I had more and more fun with that up to the point that I have more fun getting chased (even when I get downed quick) than playing immersive.
Now I play the super efficient playstyle using as less pallets as possible, which is can be really intense compared to using one pallet after another just to get not hit (besides it creates dead zones ######### over my mates and myself later on)
You know what I'm trying to say? Ofc everyone is different, but I think those who prefer stealth were never to the point they could compare it with getting chased because they aren't that good at it.
-
@Orion said:
https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/374971#Comment_374971
Some people enjoy playing in a way that requires more forethought than just memorizing all the loop spots and waste time by using them. To each their own.
Everyone to his own, but I think most who play super immersive are just new players or players who are quite bad at chasing and never tried to learn how to get chased long. They stay in the comfort zone. It may be fun to play immersive for them. But I'm quite sure they would have more fun with more interactive gameplay against killers in a direkt 1v1 confrontation (if they get better ofc)
-
@Eveline said:
Being good at chases and being able to lose the killer is a sweet spot.
Losing the Killer is needed, especially in dead zones. Don't get me wrong, I'm not against stealth in any situation. I use stealth in important situations like beeing injured in a dead zone. Not always, but sometimes.
-
@xChrisx said:
Sometimes playing stealth its a good strategy but yeah i think/prefer playing aggressive. Be chased its my favorite part of the game, idk why someone its happy to play stealth, i mean its just boring, do gens and crouch around the map wasting time.
You nailed the word "SOMETIMES", for example against a good nurse or in dead zones while getting chased to lose the killer
-
@DocOctober said:
I couldn't care less. I survive more often than my aggressive team mates and I'll stick to that.
Cuz you avoid the killer and avoid commiting finishing gens just so you can get the hatch lol
-
If you think removing extra points will stop that you are to naive.
Survivors just want to rub in your face that you haven't caught them.
-
@Delfador said:
I think both sides are right about this problem.
If you play stealthy, your points will suck since you will almost lack an entire category. Survival category is already rigged, alturism is based on competition, objective points are difficult if you don't coop (1250 per generator??? really?)
On the other hand, if you make it viable to stay around a killer and gain lots of bloodpoints, it will be abused. People will not leave the match until they gain their boldness points, some survivors will follow the killer while a teammate is getting chased etc.
What should be done is to award survivors boldness points when they do some work in the killer's terror radius except for unhooking (farming will be worse).
You are repairing a generator in the killer's terror radius? Gain points
You are cleansing a totem in the killer's terror radius? Gain points
You are healing a teammate in the killer's terror radius? Gain points
You are opening a door in the killer's terror radius? Gain points
Immersed survivors will gain nothing but it will award 'bold' survivors who do some work despite the killer's presence.
Sounds good, at least we don't get those survivors camping I'm corners or basement rewarded with that.
-
If your definition of useless is that an entirely BROKEN perk got reworked into a normal decent anti tunnel perk then yeah, it's useless. Deal with that and stop complaining.
-
@PiiFree said:
The issue is not that you can't pip anymore, it's the fact that especially when you perform excellent, you won't pip because the Emblem System punishes you for that.
A 4k in relative short amount of time, due to good predictions and excellent decisions will result in a black pip while a boring 30 minute doctor 3 gen strat match will result in a pip.
It's not the skill and performance that decides if you pip or not, it's simply the quantity of hooks, hits, chases and sacrifices. Quality is irrelevant, but it should be ALL about quality gameplay.
Your statement about quality gameplay is true, I agree with you.
I hadn't much short games (with short I mean 4 kills in under 3 minutes) but when I had dominated the survivors they nearly all DCed which gave me automatically a pip.
-
Uhm, why is stealth more brain? Stealth is the easiest thing to do lol.
-
Surprisingly I had no issue to pip from rank 3 all the way to rank 1.
I thought it would be difficult, because everyone said so (even tru3 and other streamers) and I haven't tested killer much in the PTB.
I haven't changed my playstyle, I played like I always do. I was playing Myers, billy and nurse a little bit and I always got 1 pip at least.
-
What do you mean with "since 2.6.0" the patch isn't even 24hrs live. Just because you had a day of genrush doesn't say anything. Everyone has here and there a day full of survivors beeing on fire. Especially with new content it brings back old-school players with a lot of experience.
-
They changed scratchmarks colour, they are now closer to red than before which should give a better contrast on bright maps like Ormond. But the "engine" around scratchmarks, location and reliability is still the same.
-
I don't know a single person who camps because the ranking system is to hard now. What logic is that anyway? Also 90% of player don't give a single ######### about ranks and pips. Why do you care?

It feels so much more relaxing without DS. It's really ridiculous how a single perk can change the experience. Even more ridiculous it took 2 years. Better later than never tho..

Because it's placing you and the survivors all into a lobby at once, instead of opening a lobby and just sitting there waiting. It's just a different method to match making. The multiple minutes is only because there are more people playing killer with the new DLC release.
Well, the thing is that still not all 4 are in. Or some dodge and I'm waiting for the rest to join for several minutes now

My friend, the devs are straight up fooling us when we talk about sound. Do you know how the sound was before the first engine update? It was amazing! After the first engine update it was broken af. They kinda fixed it, but it was never the same as the original. Same now with the second engine update.

Kind of need to know because if it is then I'm not going to be buying the new dlc.
A description of that perk would be nice

Its nearly everytime the same with new maps. The Ormond isn't even completely fixed, still having less fps on that map than in any other.
