Well this Ghostface is an original character as in the mask is Ghostface and the person under it is someone DBD came up with but I agree the guys from Scream 1 would be so happy to be in the Fog.
-
I really hope they hired better writers for the story this year, I didn't get any messages so probably not.

To be clear, I got one guy down one game precisely because of the perk. But ... that's it. And red ranks dont hide in lockers.
Yeah that sounds right, this perk could have been cool but they're too afraid to make it good.
-
So I only get really hurt by DS in the end game when I need to camp and tunnel because the door is open, this is when it really hurts. Yes you can say hit the rescuer but when the entire team is doing the save they all take hits and run off so that's not an option. Yes this is one of those rare really bad occurences that shouldn't happen but this is really the only time it hurts.
I can see DS into Adrenaline hurting as well but these scenarios all revolve around me or other Killers playing poorly.
Now in a normal match I don't care, if I get hit by DS then it's because I wasn't paying attention.
-
I think this is one of those niche perks the Devs actually thought about in detail, unlike Iron Maiden.
This perk would make sense to increase wiggle speed and since there are hooks usually very close to each other it would finally be useful. But this perk could be too strong if they don't put in the right values, I think if they do change it to increase the speed the numbers would be incredibly low so as to still only barely work and therefore still not good.
I think they should increase the struggle effects
Boil Over 3 is not very noticeable with the swaying, very rarely is it ever something I'm scared of so I think increasing the strength of the swaying would be a good idea. It would make getting to the hook harder which is what it is for.

You know that the pic from before isnt even a matchmaking by the old formula, right? Cause how should you get a rank 20 killer, whie using the average of all the four ranks? Thats your first mistake. Second, i already answered your question, and thats why i wrote ´how about reading the entire post´. Iy you cant understand easy wording, its not my fault. The rest is just biased opinion on your side, which i already countered in the same post. But i guess it is too hard to understand for you.
I think it is just a matter of not being able to agree with each other instead of one us being stupid. I have my opinion and you have yours, neither of us understand the other and are unable to reach something we can agree on. I respect your stance, have a good day :)

In this thread: people mixing up high and low rank.
Low rank = experienced; high rank = inexperienced. Please remember that so that we know exactly what you are trying to discuss.
---
Before the update, survivor ranks were averaged and a killer with a close enough rank to that average was matched with them. If that doesn't create a fair match for the killer, that can imply two things : 1. Rank is meaningless (e.g. a rank 10 is not twice as skillful as a rank 20), 2. There is discrepancy in regards to actual skill between killer rank value and survivor rank value (e.g. a rank 5 survivor or average group rank of 5 does not fairly match up with a rank 5 killer).
A long term solution would be meaningful rank that correlates across killer and survivor, which they have stated they are working on in the third anniversary stream.
A quick fix for swf and matchmaking now would be to just adjust how you weigh ranks when averaging swf. For example, weigh red ranks 2.5x as heavy, purple 2x as heavy, and green 1.5x as heavy as yellow (adjust weight values based on internal testing of what is considered a fair match). So if you have ranks 3, 3, 14,14 instead of going against the normal average killer rank of rank 10, you'd go against weighted average killer rank of 6.
The reason that many are calling the current patch a punishment, is because we moved from being slightly survivor sided to completely killer sided when there is a wide rank gap, instead of finding a fair middle ground.
Imo the current patch will cause more problems than solve:
1. Swf Matches will be extremely killer sided when there is a rank gap, compared to slightly survivor sided prepatch. So whatever issues killers had with the prepatch matchmaking will be even more problematic for swf groups. Just shifting the burden to the swf (which is fine, it's not the killers problem), but in the process making the problem worse than before in magnitude (which is not fine).
2. Friend groups and swf with rank gaps stop playing together to avoid problem 1.
3. Deranking to avoid problems 1 and 2.
Wait you mentioned something about the 3rd anniversary stream. I recall them saying they were working on something to do with ranks and it would be near the end of the roadmap for year 3, I thought it was something like your Rank was different with each Killer, so Rank 1 Ghostface but Rank 13 Clown something like that. Is that what you were saying or something different, that video was so long I don't even know where they had that info.

I'll probably just buy the jacket by itself as I don't even like the drill, I prefer the blade from the other cosmetic. The prices for these cosmetics is ridiculous.
-
lol someone thought this perk was good
This perk would be good if
A---The Aura or Exposed status is longer
or B---Legion's FF shows Auras instead of Killer Instinct, this way when people face Legion they will go into Lockers to hide their Aura. Why this wasn't done I don't know, the Lockers only started to block Auras when LEGION CAME OUT.
Great perk synergy 👏
-
@ASurvkillivorer said:
It was always like that. A total joke. Needing to spend at least 13$ just to get a skin?
There is a reason I haven't seen a SINGLE person on Xbox with this skin. If these 10+ dollar outfits were cheaper I really feel like they would sell way more and make even more money....
The skins are expensive, I a bought a lot when I was on the PS4 and I really don't want to buy them all over again on the PC as yeet, das some money broke people don't need be spendin'.
-
Least Fun---Doctor
The matches get so drawn out and boring
Most Fun---Pig <3
Amanda's traps are so exhilarating, I always try to make sure my team has the most fun when Pig is the Killer and activate their mask as soon as possible before they get a chance to take it off. I always smile when someone does the same for me <3
-
So if I enjoy a Survivor and I actively want to play them, since they're all just skins, I only get them their P1 but never go all the way to 3 since yes it is a waste of time. Survivors don't make as much points as Killers so it takes longer and I don't enjoy Survivor as much as I do Killer so getting more than 1 Prestige makes even less sense for me. One is enough for them.
Killer on the other hand I get them to P3 if I want to main them, it is a sign of respect and how much I love that Killer. Prestiging Killer is a lot more harmful than Prestiging Survivor since most Killers are perk and add-on dependent so that comes into play too when I want to Prestige them.

No it didn't.
The outfit simply costs more. The justification, evidently, is because the weapon it comes with has a special animation. The price isn't a mistake.
So it's stated somewhere? I'm guessing in the old post with the release of the cosmetics? Pig's weapons are very unique with nothing else like them.

I was legit told that my team was going to lose because ''Nancy is weak'', we did lose but it was not because of me 🤣 I just had the misfortune of having a Plague as the Killer which made 2 of my perks useless.
-
I love Wake Up lol
Whenever I use it I say ''turn your face to sun, child'' because everyone sees me in yellow when I open the exit 🤣

Also we need an Ultras rare add-on that lets him throw the saw

I feel Nurse blinking through a pallet should break it as well.
Seeing Nurse can't even comprehend what a pallet is, I can get behind this 😂
Look I LOVE Legion, they got nerfed into the ground because of pressure from the community and the Devs went too far with it. They did say they are going to change Legion's add-ons but that won't fix them, it will not. Saying that, I don't think making that add-on base is the right thing to do. It is their most powerful add-on and gets rid of that awful stupid speed change to vaulting them but it doesn't look right.
Legion needs help but this is not it, also if they did make it base then what could they possibly get to replace that add-on? Breaking the pallet is unique and therefore Ultra worthy but what could possibly replace that?
-
I voted for Freddy since I could only pick 1.
My main 3 are Freddy, Pig, and Ghostface
My Secondary Killers are Legion and Spirit
Clown and Demo are ones I want to play more of to get a better sense if I really want to truly main them or not.
-
Legion---Considerably increases Feral Frenzy Movement Speed
Ghostface---Moderately, Considerably increases time to break you out of Nightshroud(why didn't we get this)
Marked Stabs inflict the Broken status effect for 60 seconds
Clown---Bottles inflict the Oblivious status effect for 120 seconds
Bottles inflict the Deep Wounds status effect
Freddy---Snares inflict an extra Hindered status effect

It's crazy that the optimal balancing between solo and SWF is exactly on the rank of the highest survivor for the SWF. There are really crazy coincidences.
I think it's a bad idea.
New players aren't being harassed by high rank Killers if they know that the Killer will 100% be more experienced than them. People should tell their friends that if they play with you then the Killer will be a high level Killer and they should be careful until they get better. That friend should be told this game is not easy until they know what they're doing and have a few hours into it.
If you just say ''hey you wanna play this game with me, I'll play with you and team up and protect you'' and then they go into the game with you and get slaughtered by a Rank 1 Nurse with 5 Blinks and a Mori then that friend SHOULD BE PISSED OFF, at their friend who didn't tell them that that would happen.
Everyone fails and is at a disadvantage when you start any game at level 1 and fight the end game boss right off the bat.

Hey Peanits, can you confirm something for us please? I can't get the Ornate Trapper mask on the PC, was that a timed exclusive or is it a bug? I bought the game almost a year before that mask came out but didn't unlock it on the PC as I did it on the PS4 but now I can't claim it on the PC as there is no button.
I put it in Bug Reports but no one has seen it yet according to my ''BHVR read'' counter.

You dont understand, that changing the side of whos at disadvantage is a really bad idea? And that its much worse that the side with those who wanna play together to have fun, cause thats why people tend to play SWF and not cause they wanna tryhard or bully, is at a disadvantage? Your example isnt that whats difficult to deals with and its not what is mostly common in SWF. Now what about those streamers who do community matches? Thyre mostlikely higher ranked than their community and now their community gets screwed up cause of one player in a Squad game? Thats an overly stupid design. Also think about what games will happen. Now all those fun teams willg et stomped by OP nurses, spirits and billys. Playing redranks already is enough of unfun to face those OP killers on regular basis, now you really wanna give them more chance to bully lowrank survivor? Great idea! NOT.
Balacing around extremes in a team match is the most stupid design, cause theres allways one side at heavy disadvantage. The change now is just switching sides, and cause of most players are survivors it will backfire pretty hard, cause noone wanna to play anymore in SWF, so that this mode will just be a equal-level-mode with i say just 1/3of the player base than before. killing the game more this way is for sure.
So this pic is from earlier in this thread, you're ok with this scenario? You think it is completely fine that high ranks with their low rank friend can completely outnumber the low rank Killer who is only 1 person.
Is this ok? That is all I am asking, nothing more nothing less because it is all I personally care about.
Yes that scenario will be reversed giving your buddy a high rank Killer but you and your high rank friends should be.....there for you buddy just like you are for a ######### Killer that is no challenge at all. No difference except someone whining that the game is hard when YOU MAKE IT HARD.
Survivor is the easiest part of the game, prove me wrong.
When my friends and I are having a bad day with Killer matches we go play Survivor to have a chill time and screw over the Killer, that right there says Survivor is easy.

@Darkskies I don't think I'm wrong with my assumption. It's super sad to see. I would have loved to see the community grow. It was such an amazing chance.
BHVR's marketing was able to do such a great license deal and the devs surely did put a lot of work into the DLC. And then they ignore matchmaking problems for too long and now all that prior work...
Well, we will see in a couple of weeks what the steamcharts are going to say about the player numbers when there is no event.
In the patch notes they mentioned after putting the SWF group according to highest rank they mentioned that previously it was catered towards the average rank in the group, so I think it rounded off.
If they had just done this tiny little matchmaking thing with the SWF earlier then this would never have been a problem. If all it was was a value change with the system of picking the rank of the Killer than why did it take so long?
The Beginner's contest guide and the Survivor perks were all pointed towards the new players coming with the DLC, it was obvious and super healthy but they are always looking towards the future and can't keep their feet grounded enough in the present to solve the issues the future of the game will always have. BHVR needs to slow down.
-
:(
Feels bad, I'm really happy for the SWF changes and hopefully the patch fixes the matchmaking problem as well. As Survivor I've been paired up with 4's and 8's when I'm only barely a 12, not good for the Killer but really helped me get my Daily.
Sorry for your bad night, hopefully your next matches get better. I'm grinding away trying to get Nurse's perks.
-
The Auras are much harder to see, I was on a Gen and someone was on the floor and I was looking all over for them but couldn't see where they landed until I saw a red speck out of the corner of my eye. I stood up and what do you know, the snow on the wall behind me obscured the red Aura, didn't think that would happen.
I like Ormond but I don't like the little mazes they have, they're just like the ones in Yamoaka and they are confusing for both Killer and Survivor, every time I go in one I get lost, I get LOST. If they got rid of the maze-like structures and made the map darker like the promotional posters made it then this map would be my favorite.

Some perks can be really good with specific people so sometimes the “shiz” perks like coulrophobia can be part of an anti healing build, or maybe a terror radius based build with unnerving and overwhelming presence, coulrophobia, and distressing to see down everything. Idk, just some thought to give instead of keeping only upper tier/meta perks
Well I switched from the PS4 to PC recently and I unlocked everything over there and used those combos. I do enjoy finding nice fun things that's not exactly good but unique. I stopped using Unnerving when I realized it made skill checks easier since it's smaller, at least it is easier for me when I'm Survivor.
I know you can use Coulrophobia to trick Survivors into not healing instead of just slowing it down but I haven't tried it yet. I'm unlocking Nurse's perks now and when I get to Clown I'll try it out.
I just want to unlock the good perks first so the lower tier perks don't crowd my bloodwebs early on.
-
Both Ultras should have been base, the Pallet one we got which is powerful and now we're stuck with other one that isn't strong and hard to use as you need to be facing who is injured while you teleport. The information is nice but not game breaking or even good as you aren't even traveling to where that person is.
-
The totem spawns on the map are next level, I found a totem tucked in between two barrels hugging a wall in the corner of the map, very well hidden, I spawned right next to it and immediately destroyed Ruin; next level totem spawns on this map, line of sight check is on par.

Object of Obsession on Trapper is unfair, deciding not to give Plague her vomit is fair.

@MegsAreEvil said:
Wow all those double standards. Ridiculous.
I just don't understand the problem to be honest, what is the real problem with this? I was a Rank 13 Survivor today and played with a all Rank 7's and the Killer was a Rank 7, I didn't have any problems, it was an awesome game and I was playing a level 5 David with only Dead Hard and WGLF. This example is what we'll see in the future and the only real problem is that low ranks have to face high ranks if they team up with high ranks.
Why is it ok to have High rank Survivors, a possibility of 4 High rank Survivors with only 1 low rank face a low rank Killer? How is that ok? The Killer is outnumbered by players with too much skill, while on the Survivor side with the update it is still 1 v 4 so that low rank Survivor does not have a high chance of running into that Killer because the other 3 should be distracting that 1 Killer.
This update is about being fair and since this is an asymmetrical game a fair balance is a grey area that benefits mostly everyone in some way.
The only benefit for high rank Survivors to face low rank Killers is to bully that Killer to help their friend, that's toxic and hurts the community. That Killer is a person, a human being and they deserve the same respect as your friend.
You can help your friend but who will help the Killer against you?

Rank 1 survivor. I usually play with swf in red to purple. Have one friend relatively new in yellow. Bring me rank 1 killers all day every day as long as queue times aren't outrageous.

I was playing against a Plgue last night as Nancy and I was laughing when I realized she is a counter two of her perks 🤣 Can't heal in a locker if you're Broken and can't walk faster either. Being happy cause SWF are being nerfed into ground? Whats now the purpose of playing SWF-Squads while having a high rank player with you who ######### up all other survivors? Taking highest rank is the same dumb ######### as saying the lowest rank should count. Thats one of those changes that will backfire really quickly cause peoplle cant play together anymore, cause theyre srewed up by their own teammates.
You're saying that low rank Survivors will get thrashed by high rank Killers and yes that is bad. But it was also bad that low rank Killers got thrashed by high rank Survivors, this won't be balance but it addresses the issue that was really hurting the player base. SWF is still good and low ranks can play with high ranks and they will still be carried by their high rank friends, nothing changes except low rank players will need to get good like they always need to.

People who have a strong back and a fountain of patience will stick with this game. People who aren't used to these kinds of these or don't have the patience to learn all the mechanics won't enjoy this and never will.
It is very interesting to see who enjoys this game and who doesn't. I have some friends who I met playing Friday the 13th and they enjoy playing that together, not that they enjoy the game but they actually play that one; they won't play this or even try it out.
Then I have friends who love shooters and all these advanced mechanics and grind, they hate Friday but love DBD and even though this game pisses them off into a stress fueled depression they still stick with it.
Everyone is different

I miss him <3 It was so fun to watch people run around a building and then meet them around the corner and give em a ######### slap like ''WHERE ARE YOU GOING?!''
Freddy also had a built in Deerstalker which was perfect for the slugging build I made for him and since my biggest issue is finding Survivors he was my perfect Killer <3
The New Nightmare is still fun and feels more like the real Freddy but I still miss his scary Aura reading, hopefully we get that back one day and the Devs find a good way. It is really silly to never try to find a good way to bring that ability back because the ability was fine, everyone complained about the 7 seconds and not the Aura reading.
This is a video game, anything is possible if you try. If you don't try and don't think out of the box then you can't get better; it's the same with everything in life.

Although I love the idea of a killer that is able to turn into survivors, and would think it would make an excellent addition to the game, there are two problems with it
- The developers said they were not going to ever add a killer who does that.
- They would get destroyed by SWF lobbies with mikes.
So having a mimic killer IS POSSIBLE, I recently made a discussion highlighting someone's fan chapter who created the best mimic ability that wouldn't get destroyed by SWF. I titled the discussion The Ghostface That Never Was and it had a link to the fan chapter. But basically the Killer could Mark Survivors and then later on when the Killer activates the ability while that Survivor is with another Survivor they would switch places with them. The Survivor would teleport into a locker and the Killer would enter an animation where they look like that Survivor and start putting on their costume. So to the dude who is with the guy who got switched is basically working on a Gen with Dwight then Dwight stops doing the Gen and puts on a cloak and mask then tries to stab him; BAM MIMIC!
Anyway, about Pennywise, the best way I can see is that his lunge is him transforming his arm into an insect appendage but his actual ability would be like you said watered down. Pennywise is a shapeshifter who doesn't actually feed off of fear but instead uses fear as a spice, he doesn't need it but craves it, unlike Freddy who is the opposite.
So maybe in that case it would be like Doctor where everyone has a Fear meter and when it goes up Pennywise gets his version of a Tier 3 and has an ultimate ability he can use, whatever that is. H'll probably shapeshift into a monster who is faster and can break pallets so Survivors would want to stick together to keep their Fear from growing as getting it to max will buff Pennywise.

3rd seal and unnerving are actually quite good!
3rd Seal can be good on certain builds and tactics and they can be strong but those play styles aren't that fun for me personally. I mean do slug sometimes but not enough where 3rd Seal is mandatory.
I used to run Unnerving on Freddy because he has add-ons that go with it but they made that impossible with the latest chapter and I don't like Doctor so I don't use it on him either.

Before they nerfed healing.
I forgot they did that, that was a year ago I think? Yeah they made Self-Care take longer, I think it used to be 12 seconds? I barely remember what the change was but yeah I remember it was a lot faster.
-
Wow that's impressive, I'm still trying to unlock Nurse's Calling before I play Ghostface again <3
-
I personally love the idea but because Thana exists they can't do this idea. I love the idea of being slower because you're injured, an injured person is in pain and doesn't want to move around too swiftly because it would hurt more.
Maybe introducing a slower speed while injured would be cool and it would encourage healing even more but then Clown might need to be...well nerfed. Clown can already slow down Survivors and if injured Survivors move slower and then his add-ons would be too powerful. Or maybe it would be just the right buff he needs, won't know until they try it out.

The statistics revealed by the devs does not support your argument. The weakest killer in the worst map has a kill rate of around 45-50% in rank 1.
It seems like you tend to remember the frustrating experiences (which is normal) and forget the matches were you got 3-4 kills easily.
What you explained happens when you play against 4 very good survivors. If you are playing a low tier killer, there is little to nothing you can do to win these matches. Adding an extra gen or increasing gen times won't help you win those games. The outcome would still be the same.
This would only make playing survivor more miserable and help carry mediocre killers to ranks where they don't belong. Then they will come here to complain that the game is not balanced.
Yes, in some situations the match will be a dominant victory for the Killer even with the worst Killer.
I myself stopped playing the way others do a long time ago. My main tactics revolve around torturing Survivors and making things very difficult for them, forcing pressure without needing to be everywhere with maximum focus.
The problems I usually state are problems others or myself have and those are always on matches with a playstyle I myself don't like using. I like the Basement strategy myself, that creates pressure on Survivors and thoughh the Gens still go quick I still usually have a winning or at least long game with 2 kills minimum. When I'm not doing that I really enjoy using combos for slow Gen speed like Thana and Dying Light on Freddy or experimental combos on Pig. These things work for me so I stick with that.
The community is apparently incredibly divided about this game more than I had thought, I am shocked to see how many people actually think this game is fine and balanced and that the Gens going quick is always the Killer's fault when in reality it isn't, it's bad game design and like others have stated, map design. If the maps we got were more procedurally generated than they are now, like even more random that could really help with Gen speed because everyone knows that when a new map comes out the gens always go slower because no one knows where they are.
-
I really like the fake balloon idea, I want to see the look on someone's face when the fake balloon just explodes and covers them in blood lol
-
I watched season 2, not as good as S1 but I like the direction they're going with it. I don't quite understand the significance of the watch, I know it is a token of the Look-See and is given to followers but it is still a mystery.
Either way I would love to see that in this game.

@Johnny_XMan said:
So apparently survivors are supposed to stop doing gens when killer is around. I didn't know that.
Maybe give survivors a reason to detach themselves from the gens (Like Idk go chase them off the gen) and then you'll add this thing called map pressure.
Exactly! That's the point, Ruin, Thana, Dying Light, totems they are all designed to try and get Survivors off of Gens but totems get found super easy so they don't work as well as they should. Clown can only focus on whoever he is chasing while Legion can chase everyone if they were actually fast. Every Killer is good at what they do but they were never designed to be as strong as Nurse or Spirit they were not designed to be able to put pressure on all the Survivors.
Clown was only ever meant to down 1 person at a loop while Pig can put traps on everyone and slow down Gens. Both of those two Killers are just normal M1 Killers but the differences are huge because one of those two actually has a way to pressure every Survivor while the other cannot as they are designed to.
-
Have you played Killer at Rank 1?
You ever totally trashed even though you tried your hardest?
Ever have all your traps as Trapper get disarmed because someone has Object of Obsession and sees you place down every single one?
Ever play Clown and constantly down everyone, I mean down everybody, breaking pallets, you are dominating, then everyone gets out because the match lasted 6 minutes.
You ever play Leatherface, you know that camper wit the chainsaw who can instantly down you? Do you always win?
My goodness, MICHAEL MYERS!!! He can instant down EVERYONE with 1 shot! Do you have a 100% winning ratio against Rank 1 Survivors who broke your Ruin 10 seconds into the match and never let you out of Tier 1 so you only get to Tier 2 when there are 2 Gens left and then LOL everybody ESCAPES 🤣 You couldn't use NOED because they broke all your totems, they had 4 instant heal Med-Kits and they all left through the Hatch because they found a KEY.
Killers have it so easy, Survivors are the absolute hardest faction to play since the struggle of putting a square block into a square hole.
You are right :)
