  • The Look See is really cool, I would love to see that in here but I'm not sure how they could implement him. He has abilities but they seem to be the generic teleportation, I've only seen season 1 but I'll watch season 2 now because I should have done it a long time ago.

Getting one of their Killers in here would be a lot easier than something from a big studio.

BHVR can make a lot of money by putting small studio monsters in this game, that's a life long advertising gig.

I’m a rank 7 and I play with a rank 1 all the time..we’re on Xbox and the killers are OP.

So you a 7 and 1 played against a Rank 15 Killer and lost eh.

  • @AliXnm said:

Nah. Most matches we can’t even get all 5 gens done WHAT MAKES YOU THINK WE’LL FINISH 6?! don’t wanna get gen rushed put on ruin or thanatophobia...heck even no ED...killers always wanna whine about something to get survivors nerfed into the ground...you can see all the gens highlighted just walk around and you’ll find em. Don’t camp OR tunnel and you won’t get gen rushed. (P.s. I’m in a game with ghostface and he killed EVERYBODY with all 5 gens left. No hex’s. He used thrilling tremors and I’m all ears. Rank 15.) just sounds like you need practice my guy.

Your game is normal for Rank 15 but over in Rank 1 you can down 1 guy, slug them and then hook another and still get 2 gens done WITH Ruin. It gets much more difficult the more Survivors get better, the better you get the easier it is to do everything and harder it becomes for Killers to do anything. You'll see that when you get there.

  • @Atrushan88 said:

Killers already have a UR offering as well as an extra rare and uncommon offering while survivors have none. They don't need 2, and I highly doubt a 6th gen needs to be added. I mean unless you want to give survivors an offering to remove a gen. Otherwise that gives killers 4 offerings that survivors don't have a version of.

Give the Survivors an offering to remove a Gen? So give Survivors more of a chance to do the Gens faster?

That's not a good idea, sure giving Survivors 1 more Gen would increase the difficulty but not by much in the high ranks. In the low ranks I did mention just keep the 5 gens.

Wait, this just hit me, doesn't that mean the 3-gen strat is now a 2-gen strat?

You didn't read the whole thing lol I say at the bottom that this means that the 7 Gens we always have will need to be increased to 8.

  • Ah yes the good 'ole line of sight check

I often spawn next to a wall and what's behind that wall? A Hex totem!!!!!

Line of sight check WORKED!!! I couldn't see it but I still spawned on it LOL 😂 🤣

  • @HuntressIsMyFavXD said:

If a gen repair time is 80 sec, maybe bump it to 60 sec if the offering was burned and have 6 gens required? Make it take longer but not irritate survivors too much with holding M1 for 80 sec 6 times

I really like the idea as it gives a little and takes a little, it seems to be the popular suggestion.

If they decrease Gens to 60 seconds then toolboxes will have to looked at including the percentages of perks like Resilience and Prove Thyself as they may cancel out the benefit of 6 Gens since they would make Gens go even faster.

  • @NMCKE said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/89432/6-gens-instead-of-5

Decrease base generator time and this wouldn't be such a nightmare for survivors to deal with. :)

Not a bad idea, thank you for actual real constructive criticism that few people in this thread have given :)

I still think the Devs would need to test this internally way before even considering putting this into a PTB as this could be too powerful.

  • I'm actually doing the same exact thing, I'm not unlocking all the crap perks like 3rd Seal, Unnerving, Coulro, etc. I've been through that on the PS4 and I've learned my lesson on the PC, only unlock the good shiz or you're screwing yourself over.

Frankly I didn't know the problem you just mentioned was even possible with the Bloodweb changes.

  • @Awakey said:

I'd rather not hold M1 for another 80 seconds. No thanks.

I don't want to either but we have not seen any indication at all from the Devs that they are adding the fabled 2nd Objective so we might as well try to come up with ideas for them and maybe they'll take credit when they find one they like.

  • I'm really happy more and more people are coming up with this idea, I put this out there during the PTB but the Devs didn't see my idea. The more we get this out there maybeit will convince them that this perk needs a buff.

The perk was advertised as 32 meters in the showcase, they thought this perk was so powerful they nerfed it to 24 meters.

Their balance team has some serious problems.

  • I feel the exact same way, I watch a lot of old videos and the maps were pitch black and scenic. Now for Killers it makes playing the game extremely hard but it was still beautiful and felt more scary, that old fear everything has, fear of the dark and the unknown.

When they upgraded the game engine I was really sad to everything get brighter but it did help with finding Survivors, but the game is no longer scary looking.

  • He's ''boring'' to face?

We need details otherwise you're in the minority.

If you're talking about Swing chains with Thana and Dying Light then that's not a Freddy problem as any Killer can do that, without Swing Chains of course.

  • I think the perk would be better if it wasn't limited to under 50% but still crap since the 3 seconds are barely noticeable. It might be more noticeable at the end of the match but it would still only be useful on stealth Killers since 3 seconds is #########.

Increasing the time to 6 seconds max would be better as it gives the Killer more time to reach the Survivor who is walking away because that is the problem. The Survivor can let go of the Gen and just start walking away and hide nearby and they get their ability back before you even come close to arriving. So if it was 6 seconds at max then every Killer will have time to reach them before their exhaustion runs out BUT it still ONLY effects Sprint Burst in that occasion. Dead Hard requires you to be injured and when you get injured you get a burst of speed giving you time to walk away those last seconds. The same goes for all the other perks so overall this perk may not be salvageable.

One suggestion I saw for Mindbreaker was change it to a totem that gives them Exhaustion for as long as it's up. So maybe when they've been working on a Generator for 9/6/3 seconds they become Exhausted until the totem is broken.

  • Nurse right now doesn't need add-ons to be good

if they are changing her add-ons then they either have to get extremely creative with them which would be refreshing, or they would have to butcher the base Nurse so that she is add-on dependent so they would have to nerf her.

Multiple Blinks are bad for Nurse, every chance you have to escape Nurse is thwarted by just 1 Extra Blink so that would be an Ultra Rare. I know everyone complains about Range add-ons but the concept of them seem like a fair add-on so I guess those would just be increased in rarity but not actually changed.

  • It's #########, pretty sure that's the exact distance at base.

With add-ons maybe it's ok but probably not good.

If you have a portal on the shack with someone in the basement directly below it, the portal will not detect them, that was in the PTB as portals don't detect hooked people anymore but it is still true for the distance.

If you want to detect people with your portals they need to be working on your portal. So if you somehow detect someone with your portal, your portal just got destroyed. BHVR thought this was an amazing feature for ''advanced players'', direct quote from their video showcase of this Killer.

I would say the only bright side to this is that Demogorgon doesn't seem to be add-on dependent so if you only ran range add-ons for the Portals then you would still be viable and dangerous.

  • I have been having so many problems it has become a miracle to play the game

    crashes and extreme lag

Many times I am stuck in the 360 spin introduction while everyone is already on Gens and I am waiting to join them. Other times I just get frozen during a chase and then the game just crashes. I'm also having a Daily problem where when I remove a Daily and get another one the new one disappears and I am stuck with the older one.

  • Pretty sure we're not getting Pennywise.

Next chapter won't have a map and if we get Pennywise and no Sewer map then #########? That's a huge missed opportunity to having the grossest and most aesthetic map ever.

A Salems' Lot movie is being made and we have Doctor Sleep coming around the same time the next chapter is being released so maybe it's one of those?

I really hope the next Chapter isn't anything from Stephen because that means no map and if we get something from Doctor Sleep then that means no Overlook Hotel and if we get Salems' Lot that means no haunted house.

Either way whatever Killer we get next chapter we won't be getting a map and that is a huge no no when it comes to something as beautiful from the mind of Stephen King.

I mean who wouldn't want to run in the frozen maze of the Overlook hotel or run from Pennywise in his sewer?

  • So Rancor procs ONLY when a Gen is done, Infectious procs when someone is nearby.

At the end game you will get NO USE FROM RANCOR because you're using NOED.

At the end game your NOED's power is increased by Infectious Fright.

IF will get more usage than Rancor overall because Rancor only shows locations when you lose while IF shows locations when you win.

    I say Infectious Fright.

Haha thank you, good info, for some reason I read Agitation was better but perhaps I'm wrong, either way I'm really just waiting for Dying Light to work again because I think DL in that Build is just going to be the nastiest lol especially stacking Ropes.

One more quick Question that I have though regarding the Basement Build.. I noticed that I would be wasting a lot of time placing Snares all throughout the Basement Entrance and Stairs, as well as just in general I feel like I spend so much time carrying the Survivor there every time, that the Gens get done SUPER fast in the meantime...

In the end, thanks to Survivors being Altruistic, I still end up usually getting a 3K or 4K if I do everything right lol, but it's risky because usually that's on 1 Gen remaining or Exit Gates already powered because the others had so much time to repair gens while I was busy messing around the Basement.. if perhaps, they wanted to let the person die as a Sacrifice I would probably end up with the game ending with only 1K or if the person who I just hooked ENDS up (which happened to me earlier) being someone who is dead on hook because it's their 3rd one.. then the others can just escape and ignore the fact that I just hooked someone cuz they're dead lol.

Just wondering what your thoughts are on how to counter this, the matches seemed to be in my favor MOST of the time, and surprisingly even got a lot of BP for them, but overall I felt like it was very quick and risky giving the Survivor's so many easy gens to complete. Is that just normally how the build works?

The downside of the every Basement build, no matter who you're playing as is there is no Gen defense.

Your entire strategy is playing around the Survivor's need to help their friends, their altruism IS what makes them lose. Because you're mostly around the Basement you aren't patrolling Gens but if you really need to then I would suggest either using Blood Warden for that last play you mentioned with the dude dying and them leaving OR unlock Tinkerer for Freddy.

Tinkerer is only usable on Freddy as he can teleport to that Gen. So I guess find a spot for that perk and when you're not at the Basement and looking for your next victim then Tinkerer will proc and you can teleport to that Gen and stop them. Or you can use what everyone else will say and that's Hex: Ruin from The Hag.

But all in all, quick Gens is the consequence of every Basement build because you are protecting the Basement. But on the other hand if you get super altrusitc Survivors then they create their own pressure by constantly saving instead of doing Gens, that's really what you're hoping for as that is the only natural way to slow down gens; their need to help each other.

Right now I'm actually trying out an interesting Hybrid mix of the two you suggested, I tried the basement build but without MYC (which I don't have) it's a bit difficult to secure..

So instead I am now using: Agitation, Thanatophobia, Sloppy Butcher, Nurses Calling/BBQ

Testing that out and so far it has been pretty fun, I try to bring them to basement hook every time if I can and snare around, but I still get to play my sloppy playstyle.

So I watched a video about whether to use Agitation or Iron Grasp IF you're only using one of them. Apparently you get just a little bit farther with Iron Grasp compared to Agitation so if you're only going to use 1 of the Basement perks use Iron Grasp.

I'm glad you're having fun with the builds :) I love throwing out my Freddy builds because they're nasty and I never see anyone running the more brutal combinations.

  • You got GRABS?

How did you get grabs? Like, you need to know what Gen they're on to get a grab, was it all luck? BBQ and Chili? Thrilling? A grab is impressive because the thought of doing that with Demo never crossed my mind.

Put diversion on and you’ve got my favorite meme build. 😁

You and Yung_Slung have great ideas lol

  • So I don't use Moris but I do use Devour Hope because I earned that usually 2 Moris, more fun that way.

Moris are fun for me only because I exclusively use Devour Hope for them, it gives everyone a chance to play the game and I know it terrifies everyone once they find out I have it. If I actually get to 5 stacks then that Mori is deserved and everybody wins, the Mori is to me more fun than killing someone on a hook.

Hooking people is boring to me

Actually KILLING that Survivor is cool and fun

  • My favorite No Mither build is Object of Obsession, No Mither, and Autodidact. Still not sure what to use for the 4th perk, the whole idea is that you want to be the hero but you REALLY SUCK at it.

Which of the Demogorgon's perks are good in your opinion?

I really don't think any of them are very good because they're too situational (Mindbreaker) / unreliable since their triggers are in the survivor's hands (Cruel Limits), or hamstrung on purpose preventing usability (Surge).

I laughed so ######### hard when I read this 🤣

  • Easy simple solution from Basement extraordinaire, me, Hat Creature/Dude.

    Don't go into the Basement

    No, not even to save

If you're going against Bubba, Trapper, Freddy, Demo, and Hag don't go for it unless you're confident that the Killer is incompetent and bad.

For Bubba there is no defense unless you have MoM as in this situation you can probably get it to work and BT. If you don't have those against a Basement Bubba just don't go for the save and hope no one comes to save you. As long as you are down there you make him weaker, as long as no one goes to save you then he has no power. Once you die then he has a harder time getting back down there with someone else.

EDIT---The Basement is my specialty because it's my favorite playstyle.

Make it a Hex that applies permanent exhaustion on hit until the totem is found and cleansed.

    Done.

That's a good fix and completely fair, a powerful effect on a totem everyone would want destroyed :)

  • @[Deleted User] said:

Even though I absolutely agree that it’s conditions and effect are dumb, I understand WHY they’ve been super conservative too.

Survivors being denied their exhaustion perk too frequently to the point of rendered useless would not go down well at all.

    There would be an uproar.

I understand that it can be too powerful if the conditions are wrong, absolutely. I myself use Dead Hard and feel vulnerable without it and not being able to use DH is scary. But add-ons are more powerful than this perk and those are more scary and effective than this perk.

Anything can be made to be good. This was not made to be that based on how it was designed.

I can come up with my own version that will be ignored once again but I don't feel like it.

Omg lol those builds sound really mean, I cant wait to try them!!! haha hopefully it goes well it sounds like it would!

I like making things difficult for Survivors 😈

  • @[Deleted User] said:

I’m actually having a lot of fun with Cruel Limits on Freddy. It’s obviously map dependent but it’s helped me get a few hits and downs.

I'm assuming you're using Tinkerer with it? For some strange reason it never occurred to me that Cruel Limits would probably only be good on him.

To answer the question, I would say Bamboozle as you can use it as many times as you want, while Cruel Limits will only give you 5 chances to use it and you probably won't be near that Gen to use it. One big problem with Cruel Limits is not only the bad range but also that it is map dependent, on a map like Lery's it is godly but get a map like Gas Heaven then the opportunities are much smaller.

  • I would like this so I as a Rank 16 Killer atm don't get paired with Rank 8's, that's not fair to me and those high ranks aren't always SWF because the match system is wonky right now.

I don't care if I go against SWF, I care about playing against people reletive to my Rank, it is why the Ranks exist. If an 8 is with their 15 buddy then it should pair with an 8 Killer not a 15 and that is a SWF not a Rank issue so if they fixed that and then showed Ranks this would not be a problem. Unless you got people out here at Rank 1 who dodge if they see three Rank 15's and one Rank 1, I would call that an easy game for the Killer.

  • So me personally, right now I'm a low rank Killer because I don't have a lot of time to play and I don't want to deal with SWF, that's an advantage that I cannot deal with on a level 3 Trapper with no perks lol If I even think they're SWF I leave the lobby, sometimes I don't though like if their hours in the game are low so that way I know that yeah they're SWF but they're just as bad as I am so it's ok.

To be honest the SWF wouldn't be an issue for me personally if I could see their Ranks, the ranking system is so whacked right now that if I could see that a Rank 8 is versing me a Rank 16 then I know I need to leave the lobby because that's not fair to me whether they are SWF or not. SWF doesn't bother me if they don't abuse the crap system to have a high rank friend carry them, I want those SWF to be near my level of skill and not super high or low.

TL:DR I don't want a SWF indicator but I would like to see their Ranks.

  • @Spirez said:

My first couple of games playing with demo I forgot about his portals and I got 4ks and once I started using portals it went down hill with 3ks but barely like all gens got done and just barely got the 3rd. I feel like it’s more of a hassle to use them than it is to forget about them and just M1 everyone normally while walking around the map. It gives me the same feeling legion does, the “why even use the power if they’re injured” type of feeling from legion. But in this case it’s why use portals when I can easily find and track survivors.

I can understand that, his Shred is incredibly powerful, i've heard Tru3Talent compare it to Huntress and i can see what he means.

We as players all have our strengths, my strengths aren't with loops or with countermeasures and reacting but more with traps and forcing the game to go my way, manipulation. Maybe that's why I have more luck with the portals and using them in my strategy, to me Shred is just a no brainer easy anti-loop power that is really fun. If the Demogorgon only had Shred then he would be less powerful but only because he would have no way to travel across the map very fast like the top tier Killers can.

  • I don't think you're doing it right, you don't waste nearly as much time placing 2 portals as you do traps.

My strategy has been not to activate my portals in the beginning and only use them later on when a few of the gens get done. Unlike most Killers Demogorgon benefits from the Gens being completed as his pressure gets tighter. Placing and using the portals around the Gens that are left are where his strength lies, that and near hooks but not necessarily near hooks but near the popular loop next to the hook.

I had a great match on Springwood, not sure which one lol they had gotten rid of the hard to reach Gens in the school and the house making the only ones left the ones out in the open. My portals were already set up by them so it worked out perfectly when they had little places to go between the gens and the hooks I was placing them on; it wasn't impossible for them to get away but the map made it difficult.

I can see Corrupt intervention being good on Demo for this reason, place your portals near the blocked Gens and then teleport to them when it looks like they're one of the few options left for them to do.

  • Everyone seems to have answered the other questions so I will chime in with some builds as Freddy is why I play this game <3

Sloppy Butcher, Knockout, Thanatophobia, and either Dying Light for maximum torture or whatever you like. ADD-ONS--Swing Chains and Black Box or Jump Rope and the Snares that Blind so the crawling sluggies don't know where to crawl to. Always have at least 1 person slugged, if you're using Dying Light then preferably the Obsession.

Iron Grasp, Agitation, STBFL, and either MYC or Devour Hope. You don't need add-ons but you do need your Snares, always hook in the Basement and place Snares at the top and going down the stairs. If a Gen is above the Basement you hit the gold mine :)

  • @Mew said:

id rather just swing through pallets and waste my Frenzy since i might get a hit, a pallet gets dropped and my stun time will be reduced by 2 seconds.

Holy ######### the stun time, how did I not see that, Legion BENEFITS from pallet stuns. Brutal Strength sounds like a good idea on him now.

Also, off topic but when is Susie or Julie getting another skin?

  • Ah yes why is getting hit with a chainsaw an instant down NO MATTER WHAT, yes a very good question and one with a simple answer; it's a chainsaw.

  • So I see it as, my world my rules, if I have fun torturing everyone I might let someone go, on rare occasions I let everyone go but that's only if they are all quaking in their boots and not cocky. In my game you a #########.

I tunnel when I need too, if the situation deems that tunneling might be the right move and give me back the momentum.

I don't camp, that's not fun for me and it's a sure fire way to 100% lose UNLESS, it's at the end game and it could guarantee you at least 1 kill. At that point I realize that I had done bad this game but killing a Survivor will give me 500 points and those are juicy points which I would like. Also who doesn't enjoy that end game chase to freedom as a Survivor? That is literally in every horror movie.

  • So we got stacking Dailies and we got dailies that randomly disappear, I wish I had the stacking one.

  • If the sound of a window being blocked getting reduced is completely ruining your game experience then you have more problems than Bamboozle.

An actual problem is having an infinite that the Devs haven't fixed and not having Bamboozle. A real problem is having a Survivor use an infinite and HEAR you use Bamboozle and then abandon the loop because they know you're not an idiot.

  • They know something is wrong with the ranking system, I myself popped into a Lobby with 3 Rank 8's when I was a 16 as Survivor. In matches as Killer I get super paranoid and avoid almost every lobby if I think they're SWF because the rank system is glitched, those SWF might be low ranks but the ones who aren't probably are, hell sometimes they ALL WERE. Playing as Killer in the low ranks and getting paired with highs are difficult and unfair, playing as Survivor against a High rank is probably the same thing but I have only experienced playing with other High ranks against a low rank Killer.

    So we have 2 problems

    1---The Rank system isn't working

2---SWF needs to be adjusted to pair the group according to the highest ranked member and not who invited everyone. This is ''balance'', that thing everyone talks about but can't find.

It seems TrueTalent is making quite a stink about how useless Surge is right now.

Just came to the forums to take a look and see what the community thinks in general. Atm, Surge seems a bit underwhelming when you could just take Pop instead which is almost guaranteed, especially with that sexy buff to 60 seconds.

Yeah I saw that, at least someone else in the community is talking about it.

  • No, it's the same thing but with chains, I mean I might buy the head because it has the collar but not the whole thing, it looks cheap and uninspired.

Demogorgon with burns from season 1 or bullet holes would have been better.

  • Nurse needs to guess where you're going, if you're going towards a window and she sees that then she'll go there, so instead go for the window and wait for her to make that 'whooo'' sound then double back and run in a different direction. Trick her into thinking the opposite of what you want to do. Or just sneak around.

Camping is not reportable, it is a valid strategy but beware if you are within 16 meters of the hook you will LOSE POINTS unless another Survivor is there with you trying to make a save.

Never feel shamed for patrolling near the hook but don't make it a habit as sticking close and not patrolling for Gens will make you lose 100% of the time.

    https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7_yixIT0p58&t=2597s

Since you just started that means you don't have all the perks, this video will guide you with what beginner perks to use with every Killer and a general strategy. There was also a Beginner's contest guide recently with videos and tips, not sure where they are but they're here somewhere.

If you ever need Freddy or Pig tips just @ me, I'm also a Basement Dweller as I am an expert on the Basement. If you want really good tips on Pig there are other better players out there who main her as I rotate a few select Killers.

  • So make Freddy's lullaby directional and reverse the change for Huntress' Lullaby as well and pissing off people who play her? Not a good idea.

Killers are supposed to be powerful, Survivors are supposed to have a disadvantage and lose if they aren't working together, period. Unless of course this game was never intended or designed to be that way...hmm...maybe this change should happen then.

  • Behold!!! My friend, may I introduce you to the ultimate strat and build, the Basement Build!!! ✨ No one gets out 😈

Iron Grasp, Agitation, MYC, and free perk slot

Place a portal at the top of the stairs and down next to the hooks, if you use Territorial Imperative then teleport to the bottom and scare the hell out of them as they can't hear you coming. If you just want that MYC play then wait until the unhook and teleport to the top for a guaranteed snowball of salty meat.

Other fun combos include Remember Me and putting portals next to the Exit Gates, this will only work if you find the Hatch first, those silly Survivors will have a doozy of a time trying to open that door as you pop around the corner Undetected.

Remember you can also use your portals to detect people but the range is incredibly small so you might not catch someone going for the save if you don't time it right so don't rely on that feature for this strat. Another fun thing to do instead is to equip add-ons to make destroying them take longer, marvel at those peons try to destroy your portal as their friend lies dying below LMAO 🤣

I personally like Devour Hope for these Builds as eventually you'll get so powerful you can Mori them, their meat becomes extra salty with this totem I find.

Have fun making your nest Basement Dwellers, and remember, if anyone dies down there it's their fault.

Tbh they went way too safe with the new perks. Even the 32 meters they said it would have before was already kind of weak. 24 guarantees that I won’t ever use it outside of adept achievements. The same goes for surge. Mindbreaker is also garbage with that stupid 50% attribute they slapped onto it.

When the chapter was announced every perk looked healthy and fair and then they buffed Survivor perks while nerfing the Killer perks. I thought they were finally heading down the right path but they haven't learned and I don't think they will. They're too scared to make this a good and balanced game.
