So for those of us that don't know, DBD on the phone has a different leveling system than the normal game. On every platform your Killer level is increased by spending Bloodpoints in the Bloodweb to get perks and add-ons/offerings. On the Mobile version your Killer level is increased by playing that Killer, when you level up your Killer you get a perk and Imagine at higher levels you can get 2 perks. Your BP are spent on their version of the Bloodweb, it is a bit different but mostly acts the same.

So with that in mind, the mobile version of Dead by Daylight has eliminated the grueling task of acquiring millions of BP to get good perks because you get perks by leveling. Now at first glance you might think you have no control over what perks you get that way but that is already true, every Bloodweb is random and at most webs below 40 you can only get 1 perk so in essence your choice of perks is an illusion. Most of the time you choose what perk you don't want but with this system you're just given a perk for playing the game. So like in every single game that exists, you get stronger by leveling up.

If the Devs could carry this form of leveling to get perks over to every platform then BP would only be used for add-ons and Offerings and by playing your favorite Killer you can unlock perks to make them stronger. This would erase the grind completely.

But in the next patch we are getting 2 perks per Bloodweb after 40 so I don't think the Devs are going to give us this change and just let it be really difficult for new players. Everyone who has already reached 40, veterans, get an easy time.

So I made this post that says how to fix the grind, the Devs actually already fixed the grind but only on Mobile.

  • I'm really excited for this feature, lately my connection has gotten really bad and people think I'm cheating. A big problem I get is that everyone in the match starts and I am frozen in the intro until the spin around your character finishes but I don't think servers will fix that one :(

  • I started with Trapper because I love traps, I love the feeling of setting up traps for people to fall into and try to escape, that feeling of outplaying them and suddenly putting them under my power, the dominance. Plus the sound of setting up traps is music to my ears, the metallic clicking just feels good. If Trapper was just a little bit more powerful and didn't have the problem of traversing the map for his traps at the start then I would play him a lot more.

After Trapper I swiftly moved to Freddy, he was a big reason I bought the game.

  • I really hope we don't have to wait a damn YEAR for them to fix another Killer who was clearly broken by the changes they made.

Yes, he is playable and you can play well with him and he can keep everyone injured but this isn't a case of those secret ascended Freddy players who know more than everyone else, this is just bad.

Legion can injure you and he can give you a very weak debuff called Borrowed Time, once you're injured he has no power, nothing he can possibly do to ruin your day because you're injured. If Legion uses their power on you while injured you get away, that right says their power is useless and does nothing.

  • I always get Red Forest :( but yeah, I have seen a pattern where some killers get their worst map but then again Autohaven and Coldwind have more maps than any other set besides McMillan.

That's what the Endurance effect is to my understanding. They get punished for using a token, as it's not just a free hit like MoM.

I kind of hope they buff that perk in a way that's not annoying, though.

I did change the description for the perks. Hopefully they're better now?

Yeah those descriptions are better, the camera makes sense now. In a way it sort of acts like a map but it is still different, the map requires you to find them first while the camera will show you the aura when you get near it.

    Hm... good points.

I agree with with the analysis for the killer perks. Two of them need to be more defined/more useful, and the other would punish survivors for bringing toxic items instead of more useful ones (I.E. long use flashlight would be more useful instead of Odd bulb + Sapphire Lens against that perk).

Understanding would make it easier to know when a killer is using an ability or allows you to know where traps are. Based on this feedback, certain addons would mess with the perk, such as the ones that change charge duration or trap visibility.

I think Record needs to explain how a camera (as an item) works.

With Pain of Loss, you have to be real close for it to work. Ultimately, I think it would be an anti camping perk, since it would disincentivize the killer camping toward the end of a survivor's life. And you could only get/use it three times. I think a way to balance it is that you can only avoid one hit in a chase, since it would give Deep wounds.

Deep Wounds is a good idea, I like that, they aren't downed but at least they aren't doing Gens or healing either.

So I was playing Survivor against the OG Freddy and had the BEST experience I could possibly get, no way I could replicate it and never been in this situation again. Dwight was being chased by Freddy and I tried my very best to wake him up.

  • So Killer perks

Survivor's Obsession is a tracking perk, simple and probably really good, maybe better than Spies From The Shadows. The seconds though, I think when it comes to tiers you would want the number to be low so that they scream faster, like 10/7/5 where at 5 they appear for 5 seconds and then they Scream.

Horror's Past looks difficult to use since the only times a Survivor will stay still is if they are in a locker or hiding from you, maybe it is a good idea then since when they hide they stand still long enough to see the Mori and are frozen in place. In the end I think it is too much like Survivor's Obsession as it just adds them being frozen in place so this would be his weakest perk.

I love Haunting Shadows but I don't think they would ever have this as a perk because of how powerful it is. This, like Horror's Past also has no tiers and I don't think this one could get a tier unless it was how large the shadows were. Overall this one is my favorite because I love darkness as a tool and plot device.

    Survivor Perks

Understanding will break the game, Killers like Billy who can charge their saw but not all the way for example, if Survivors can see that they have all the power over the Killer, that is knowledge that gives them all the power they need.

Record is like the person above said like Small Game but also doesn't say what it does before it can reveal traps, is like a flashlight?

Pain of Loss sounds like a good version of Sole Survivor and a better Mettle of Man, Mettle wishes it could come back to this so I think this is a good perk. I don't know how to balance it though since if everyone has this perk and gets close to their dead buddy then they all take 3 hits.

Can't be 23rd that's a monday. Can't be 24th because thats not summer. (Servers due in Summer)

Has to be 17th the only possible day

lol I took at my calendar and I was 1 day off like you said. I thought Summer ended the 28th, maybe that's why my boss is yelling at me for not making enough money.

  • So the PTB has 2 days left, I am guessing that the release will either be the 16(not likely) or the 23rd.

  • @Raven014 said:

@mxlv80 Interesting concept, but I see that as weaker. And weaker killers are not viable.

Games would be way faster when only collecting pages. I have them as a secondary objective to give the survivors a reason to not gen rush.

It would be a bit of a problem for that build to actually catch survivors, since he has to rely on a pseudo stealth gameplay when he is not designed for such.

Mine does have him not able to attack immediately, however, gen progress is very slow due to it. So the survivors have to make a choice: Do I want to bear through the gen progress, or do I get the pages to allow me to go faster, while being at greater risk. Which objective do you do?

My version's gameplay also starts off differently. It's better for him if you go around placing pages at the start, but when people start collecting them, then he can snowball.

So from my understand Slender can't attack until they 5 pages? It says attack normally so I guess his attack until then would be limited to lockers right?

If this is the case then smart players will avoid lockers and deal with the 90% debuff and then complain the Killer is oppresing them. Plague makes people Broken and if they cleanse they give her more power, getting 5 pages will give him more power so they just won't collect pages.

Yes, this is stupid it is completely stupid that they could just choose to never collect pages but this is something they can and probably choose to do if they're complete #########. The Devs did not anticipate Survivors would not cleanse against Plague and they did not anticipate players would moonwalk with the OG Legion so we have to anticipate every loophole ######### will take.

Other than that I think the idea is really cool, maybe the speed is high, I'm not really sure as there is a lot of info that maybe I don't understand lol They can collect pages and those pages make him powerful but once he reaches full power there is no going back right? If that is the case then they'll never collect pages.

  • I didn't mention the Bloodlust aspect of QD because it seems decent, the speed boost from Bloodlust is 0.2 m/s which isn't really a whole lot, sure it can catch someone off guard but I think the Haste effect is actually more powerful, I could be wrong though. To me personally the main part of that perk is the hook Aura and the speed boost is a nice bonus that can be paired with other perks.

  • Goodness, there are so many monsters from Scooby Doo <3 my favorite has always been the green ghosts with the chains but I haven't seen any of the newer episodes, maybe they have some really good ones.

  • So assuming the Syringe we have now is exchanged for this add-on, I love it.

It says stacks so I'm thinking you could still get the full insta-heal by using this with the Purple add-on so it isn't completely gone but it takes 2 add-ons to do it.

I really like this, this is technically more powerful than the Syringe but it is an Ultra Rare so it needs to be powerful. So in a chase you used Dead Hard, pop this and use the Medkit to get fully healed, a speed boost, and gets rid of Exhaustion screwing over the Killer completely 100%, just like the normal Ultra we have but in a different way.

I don't know, maybe this is too strong of a replacement. Maybe get rid of the Exhaustion part but keep the speed boost?

  • @Raven014 said:

I came up with a concept too... a bit more complex, but I could see both versions (yours and mine) working.

@trevorj91 If you're interested in seeing my concept, just let me know.

    I am also interested.

I would love Slendy to come into the game, he's aesthetic and creepy. I don't know if any of these abilities in particular would really suit him but you have the right idea, you know what you're looking for and what he needs to do in the game. He's not a chasing Killer, Slenderman is a stealthy stalker like Michael but drives you insane before murdering you, he makes people completely helpless and terrified before their final moments and that's beautiful.

I think the one thing I really like the most in this your ability to see Survivors who are all alone, as a Survivor I would love to go against that. I myself prefer to be alone in games and life, I enjoy the isolation and don't need anyone around me so I have no idea what it feels like to be alone and scared. This would make being myself a detriment to my survival and that's hilarious I love it :) I would really enjoy that in this game for once.

  • Holy ######### dude, I've seen similar abilities but it all revolved around a Fireman and a trail of flames, yours is actually good.

Activate this in a loop just before the pallet and if you time it right you can backtrack literally behind the Survivor almost if not instantly and smack them. This guy would also be a beast in the Basement, leave a trail going down and get a hit, teleport back up and smack then again. Surveillance would make this man a god not to be screwed with, kick a Gen and then just walk for 15 seconds and if anyone touches that Gen BAM slide right on back and smack them upside the head.

Because this ability will rival Spirit in a small scale he would need to have a slower movement speed. Sure Spirit's ability is completely different but this ability can basically do the same thing at loops, travel behind the Survivor without them noticing at an intense speed, and that is powerful.

But looking past that at your perks, they're decent. Quiet Deterrent is interesting, it is basically a different version of Blindness, kind of like a reverse Knockout. This wouldn't have any effect on Survivors who run towards you when you hook them though as everyone assumes all Killers have BBQ and Chili.

Tormentor needs some tiers but I will say I came up with this same idea for base totems and everyone fried me, but making it a perk is probably more balanced. Maybe it Injures them across all tiers but it has a 2nd effect that gets stronger. Or maybe Tier 1 effects Dull totems, Tier 2 also effects Hex totems, and Tier 3 brings back a destroyed Hex totem 30 seconds later.

Disciplinarian sounds like his most powerful perk, like a super charged version of Surveillance, I don't have any qualms about this lol. I see nothing that makes it overpowered, maybe decrease the times but that's about it, this isn't too strong at all.

  • Pretty sure they'll say it'll break immersion or break the game which is stupid.

A crosshair won't make her more powerful or break immersion ESPECIALLY if we could turn it off in the Options menu.

A crosshair is a totally fine thing to put into the game

A crosshair adds nothing except making things easier rather than be extremely difficult for NO REASON.

There is NO GOOD REASON NOT to put one into the game.

@HatCreature The difference between Pig and Prayer Beads Spirit is that you have a warning with Pig if you pay attention. She has to uncrouch and you hear her blade. I’ve only been gen grabbed by a Pig once and that is because I wasn’t paying attention.

Spirit you have no warning besides very low sounding footsteps and rustling grass which you won’t hear if you’re working on a generator since it is super loud. You’re only hope is Spine Chill.

Other stealth killers you have a warning. Myers has LOUD breathing. You can hear Ghostface’s cape. You can hear Wraith’s bell and even if he has silent bell he has an audible notification that he decloaked.

Who really thinks Prayer Beads is balanced or okay?

Seems I'm missing a lot of sounds, I don't wear headphones as Survivor lol

If anything, keep the ability but maybe make her footsteps even louder? I do feel that stealth Killers who can't be seen should make more noise like Wraith. Also hearing invisible feet patter and splash on grass and wood is kind of creepy so it should make her scarier but also be able to play around.

  • I never level up Discordance, it keeps exploding on Tier 1 so you know it's still working and if it doesn't explode anymore then you know what that means. At Tier 3 you think 2 people are still on it but they're already gone because the timer was increased.

  • I find it really refreshing to see the community gather together to say that BHVR really did make another high tier killer, everyone has been saying they never would and they did.

I don't play against many Spirits but I know from playing her it really is all up to skill in predicting Survivor movements. If you make it obvious where you're going then you will get hit it, if you run around all over the place making your movement hard to predict then the chances of getting you is maybe 50/50 maybe less depending on what you're doing exactly.

I hate that everyone complains about Prayer beads, Gen grabs oh no, not like we get Gen grabs with Pig but no one complains about that. Oh but we can see Pig we can jump off the Gen, well spread the word because people I play against don't know that. I have never played a game where I was oppressed by a Prayer Beads Spirit even when it turns out she had it, I never noticed her having them because she couldn't get any Gen grabs from either the Gens going too quick or a skilled player was running her around.

  • The chained skin is meh tbh, I was surprised to see that is what they cam up with. But the Demogorgon is pretty bland so making any skin can be difficult when the canvas has no inspiration. But that isn't always true, I came up with a burned skin and bullet hole skin from Season 1 and those skins would be battle damage and not scary but still look cool. But at least we have the chain which might mix well with the P3.

Unless I'm an idiot the offerings don't actually change the number of hooks on maps.

Well the way they work is several hooks are chosen and have a radius around them where other hooks cannot spawn. Survivor Hook Offerings make that radius bigger which means less hooks can spawn close together so maybe they won't always make them less but will make them spawn farther apart.

  • Hook offerings sound like the way to go for you, they decrease the amount of hooks that appear on the map, Kate, Jake, and Ash have perks that would suit the problems you're having.

Your problem as Survivor is legit but on the opposite side of the spectrum, the real person you are playing against has to deal with the small amount of hooks available. Some maps don't have a lot of hooks that are easy to get to and struggle, if they kill a Survivor with only 1 hook in that area then that area is a Dead Zone and a get out of jail free card if they go down over there. There are a lot of hooks and it can feel hopeless but a good team and good strategy can make all the difference.

  • I pronounce it Dee-ma-gore-gin nowadays, I used to say Dee-moe-gore-gon because it's spelled that way but it is so hard to pronounce it that way.

  • I really want the glowing green one, I've always liked that one since I was a kid, it reminds me of the green ghosts from Scooby-Doo. I don't think we could ever get the MTV one but they had the same problem and couldn't get the rights for the mask until Season 3 so that's their mask and the character is theirs too since everyone is original so maybe the whole thing can be done because I love the TV series costume.

  • Wait where did they say this DL change was possibly temporary? We almost got an amazing Thana until they changed it, is this happening again?

  • I wouldn't be against this, if you miss 3 skill checks then that's the equivalent of 150 on Good Skills and 15% regression so I can see the complaint. The perk is made to punish Survivors who are not top tier with their skill checks so it would make sense to get more points for not only getting the Great but getting it under pressure. Seeing as most killers run Ruin and Survivors get crap points this would help out a lot.

  • As a Survivor I rarely have any problems with this perk, it is way too easy to counter, go within 40 meters, hide behind a Gen, locker, Spine Chill, Distortion etc. It's only 4 seconds which is worse than Bitter Murmur and you don't hear anyone complain about that perk being oppressive.

With that said I do like your perk idea, it isn't good enough to change the perk completely but it would be a sweet ass buff lol or a different perk as it does sound really good because Leatherface can then become a monstrous death machine with 3 stacks of PWYF and this, that's a whopping 20% extra speed WITH A CHAINSAW!

If BBQ loses its Aura reading then Object of Obsession needs to get changed completely as well because the argument/counter for that is a LOT STRONGER than any argument for BBQ.

What is your basement technique? And do you think it would work for the Trapper?

I haven't had any complaints about my playing for days now 😥😥😥

Well I mostly use the Basement with Freddy but I am hoping to do it with Trapper soon. I just switched to PC last week. I got introduced to Basement plays by Monto on Youtube, he has a whole series about Trapper's Basement.

Basically you use Agitation and Iron Grasp to get them there, place traps at the window, bottom of the stairs, and around the corner of the entrance.

The best add-ons for it are Iridescent Stone so if someone disarms your traps you don't need to redo them and either a Bag add-on, Honing or Bloody Coil.

  • ''dirtygloveoj'' is that the randomly generated name? I'm picturing work gloves just dripping with orange juice.

I'm PC and PS4 so I'm not complaining about your camping techniques, people criticize me for my Basement technique.

  • As a Survivor---Hooray I'm special, I get to give the Killer a Mori if I get caught

As a Killer---Ok I can see someone is over there and they got past me somehow, nice. Ah crap all the Gens are done maybe I can find my Obsession and get at least 1 kill, nah they were cowards and they just left :( no one likes Moris :(

  • Cruel Limits, even if they buffed it yeah it won't be anywhere near amazing because it just isn't something that can be good. Maybe it would be good if 24-32 meters Vaults around YOU were blocked when a Gen was completed but we would have to test that and I doubt they would change it to be something possibly good.

Surge, the nerf did hurt it, 24 is nothing and I barely see it getting any use when someone runs it.

Mindbreaker, yeah this isn't a good or decent perk it's just something that can be used but isn't an amazing perk.

Babysitter is ok but like you said BT is better, I might use this with BT and BT would be an insurance in case the Killer was right there but overall it is a perk made to promote healthy gameplay and not tunnel.

Camaraderie is meh, another healthy perk designed to do something against camping.

Second Wind is so Survivors won't waste time with healing when they can do gens, it can be good but it would only be because you the player is skilled.

Better Together worries me because it's the Survivor version of Discordance

Inner Strength is good because you don't waste time healing and if you break a totem before getting injured then you waste no time at all. The only time this perk is bad is the injured Survivor denies someone to heal them because they can just break a totem, that is stupid because doing a totem and waiting in a locker is more time than someone else would take to heal you.

Fixated is for Sprint Burst and other Exhaustion perks, you run and walk away, I don't know if this will be a fan favorite or not though, we'll see.

    Overall most perks are meh

  • people were kidnapped and put in an alternate dimension where they are being attacked by people wearing masks, now they are being attacked by a monster from another dimension...the monster sounds more accurate then the serial killers imo.

Yeah, I made the switch. I don't regret it, but damn I wish that this wasn't happening at the time I made the switch.

I know, it's so frustrating. I got Leather to 35 and it was excruciating to go against Rank 5s bragging ''gg ez'' like seeing them say that against a 16 just blew brain cells out of my head reading that. I'm going to play Hag soon so it won't be as hard since she's not as weak as Bubba.

Amen to that. I am pretty sure I am consistently getting at least one person several ranks higher than me when I am just pulling Killers fresh out of the plastic wrapping.

Oh did you switch to PC too? I saw you were hesitant on buying the DLC in that sale.

You're still basically changing the base of the game too much.

Unless a game is outright crashing, you NEVER want to change the base mechanics drastically, or you lose your current player base.

And changing the core gameplay elements just because a few people dislike camping? That would be a BAD move, from a monetary standpoint, for BHVR. It would chase away longtime fans & sales would tank for awhile as everyone left bad reviews.

At that point, investors would say 'Stop working on DBD; it's losing us money' and the game would be dead.

You were saying it would be game breaking and I was just showing that it can be done without completely breaking it and making it unfair.

I do agree that yes, it would change the game completely and maybe that is a bad thing. It wouldn't be the same game it would feel and be different. It would also mean hook perks would need to be changed, Altruism would take a hit, it would take a lot of work that really isn't necessary and maybe not possible.

But it can be done ;)

  • @Locker_Monster said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/667715#Comment_667715

    Not without destroying the game.

This is like saying 'Mario has gold coins! Let's put gold coins in DBD!' The games are not the same.

The reasons why respawning works in Last Year is because the round ends when time runs out, and the Killer wins.

In DBD; there is no time limit (barring EGC). If every Survivor had 2 lives only; that's EIGHT LIVES in a match, at 3 hooks per life. That's 24 hookings the Killer needs to do before 5 generators are done.

The Killer would never get a single sacrifice, nevermind trying to win at all.

So I say again; a life system would not work in DBD without completely destroying or altering the game. At that point, the devs would be better off making DBD2 to do this.

3 Hooks per life? I was going to make it simple, 3 downs you're out just like it is right now, 3 hooks you're out.

Killer finds you and downs you, hooks you, get saved, hooked again, get saved, hooked and killed.

Life Version---Killer finds you and downs you, respawn, downed again, respawn, downed and killed.

The numbers and scenario is exactly the same and this is also the same system BHVR's other game Deathgarden uses. Different team of course but they had the same system that DBD had but instead of hooks they had these orbs that people could save their friends from. When they relaucnhed the game they scrapped that idea because they knew it was flawed and changed it to this new system of respawn, same numbers same difficulty but without the hooks that make the game more difficult for Killer and Survivor.

  • @Locker_Monster said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/667710#Comment_667710

DBD is not Last Year. A life system would not work in DBD.

Anything can be made to work

  • Glad this is finally getting traction, it has been so hard as a starting out Killer recently. I was grinding on Bubba to unlock BBQ and all I was getting was high rank Chinese and Brazilian players who were much higher rank than me.

Last Year has/had? this. “Dead” survivors respawned in a room and had to be rescued by the others. I don’t know how it’s work for DbD tho.

Totally forgot about Last Year, this could work in DBD with lockers lol

So lets say Trapper downs you and Moris you, bam Entity pulls you into the ground and then you respawn in a locker miles away from the Killer. If no one saves you within the same time it takes to get from Stage 1 to Stage 2 you can hop out.

  • The Doctor one is nice, Ash is cool, the others besides the new people are meh.

The Demogorgon is pretty meh, the P3 looks bland and not inspiring to me like previous Killers with their P3. Sure it isn't drenched with gore which is a nice change but I think that would have been better with the Demo since it;s a creature and not a person. The chain outfit is...eh. I think a burned or bullet hole Demo would have been cool and better looking, I mean if the chains give off a sound effect then I'll be impressed.

I like Feng's outfit, it looks legit and simple.

  • This means Unnerving Presence won't work with Freddy anymore. If you use the Paintbrush then Skill Checks won't wake you up and if you had Unnerving then you could do a tiny skillcheck Freddy along with the add-ons that make those skill check fails more powerful but Unnerving won't work now.

They made an entire Skillcheck build impossible on Freddy even though he has the add-ons FOR THAT BUILD.

  • 24 meters, and I really had hope they were on the right path. Cruel Confinement is already bad because most maps have loops and pallets but few windows now the radius is smaller and now Surge gets nerfed to 24 as well? This is disgusting, Surge was going to be the best perk, WAS, it needs to go back up to 32 and Cruel Confinement needs to effect ALL VAULTS when the LAST GEN is popped.

  • @NuclearBurrito said:

Does that mean we can finally further our plans for world domination!?

    YES!!! Terror across the lands!

  • If they are complete nobs I will try my best to convince myself not to save them because it won't matter in the long run.

The best thing to do is wait until you can find an opening to save, if the dumb asses all go down right in front of the person who is hooked, abandon ship, they're pathetic, I don't care if they're Rank 17, ######### em. Let them die on the floor and go for a hatch but do Gens because the Killer might not leave the slugged Survivors who won't even crawl away.

But they aren't complete idiots and they're just bad, try to help them out. If they go down easy i chases then try to get chased and run the Killer around if you think you're competent on. If they can AT LEAST hold down the button to do a Gen then you might be able to carry the team but don't expect them to save you once both doors are open and the Killer is nowhere near you, will die on that hook because they're scared little bitches.

99% survivor perks are useful? Thats absolute and COMPLETE bs.

I worded it wrong lol I was trying to say, most Survivor perks can be used in any match, as in most of the time no matter what perk you have you will have several moments where you can use it.

Unlike Killer perks like Mad Grit, a lot of times you won't have body blockers or Hangman's Trick, NOED might never turn on, Tinkerer can't be capitalized on, etc. But most Survivors perks will always have a chance to be used, some that can't are anti-slug perks.

  • Meta Perks are the best perks everyone uses most of the time, basically the Top 5.

Survivor--Adrenaline, Decisive Strike, Dead Hard, some people say Self-Care but those people sit in a corner while their friend dies on a hook so maybe not.

Killer--To be honest I have no idea what is considered a meta perk for Killers besides BBQ & Chili. Hex: Ruin is said to be mandatory by a lot of players, not me, so I can't see something mandatory as a meta.

The main difference between Survivor meta and Killer meta perks are that Survivor perks are 99% useful while a lot of Killer perks are either situational or just badly designed so they can't be meta.
