BHVR could give Feng something as simple as a white t-shirt with skinny jeans and they'd still make bank off of it.
I'd buy it tbh...I love casual clothing and wish he had so much more realistic outfits for characters lol

I disagree. Some survivors just aren't visually appealing no matter what cosmetics you put on them and some just aren't relatable at all. The only reason people main different survivors is visual appeal or relatability with I'm sure a few for lore. Me for example, I LOVE Mikaela's outfits but her lore and face is very unappealing for me to play so I never touch her. Claudette is very pretty with some cute cosmetics but I don't play her because I just don't see myself in any facet of her and I don't find her lore amazing.
Kate Denson however, I do main because I absolutely adore her lore and design
Feng Min I main because I love her cosmetics and we're both Chinese which I don't find much in other games.
Ada I main because she's been my second favorite character in gaming since I was 6 and played RE4.
Yun-Jin I main because her lore is terrific and I love her cosmetics (Even if she had bad cosmetics her heavy lore and default cosmetic are adorable)
A character like Haddie is unrelatable, not visually appealing, and doesn't have any cosmetics that could save her. From her culturally incorrect clothing, to her short and stubby body, to her horrible hair, to her un-unique fashion and style, to her extremely older face that doesn't match her lore, she doesn't scream anything in any good way. She has mediocre lore considering the Haddie we have isn't the Haddie in our lore.
Elodie simply doesn't get cosmetics because no one plays her. The Twins left a horrid taste in everyones mouth and Elodie not having good perks hurt her as well. Elodie is one of my side mains as I adore her fashion style and there's plenty of cute combos you can do with a lot of her outfits (I personally use her wide brim hat with her white crop top and bloody jeans). I'm sure Elodie being a purchase only character also severely hurts her as not many purchase only characters are mained outside much older ones like Kate Denson who was around 2 years prior to Elodie and brought a whole HEAP of changes on her release (First survivor in 6 months, first non licensed survivor in quite a while, she brought the item shop as well, descent killer perks, descent survivor perks, a minor rework to leveling, and a big visual overhaul to the UI.
Feng Min however is crazy popular for many reasons. She has a good fashion style that suits her, she doesn't have that many cosmetics that are terrible, she is just visually attractive, shes relatable heavily, she's basically the OC of the Chinese DBD community, She is even more popular in Asia and when Sadako Rising dropped many Asian players joined DBD most of whom I assume went straight to Feng since not only is she free on every version of DBD beyond mobile and pc, but she's the most relatable asian character.
-
I think they can buff it and reduce stagger time a tiiiiny bit but removing it all together made so many problems in the game so it should definitely stay but maybe be less punishing
-
I feel the SAME exact way and relate so hard with Pig. I had a game the other day and I got pulled into an ACTUAL INFINITE in dead dawg. It takes 3 people and a lot of work but it makes M1 killers completely null. They just had 3 people cycle around with head on, botany, and COH. Whenever one would go down someone would take the hit. Whoever you chased would heal then jump into a locker and whenever you passed by lockers BAM head on. Safe to say never playing Pig again.
-
Right? Haddie isn't even neglected she just doesn't have very many cosmetics which is normal for a NEW character. "B-But Vittorio!" Okay he's also the first historical survivor so ofc they're gonna give him a tome and some cool stuff since he's technically the oldest survivor we have as well.
Meanwhile Twins got like one new outfit and their other outfit was REMOVED from the store so lol. It's been well over a year since Twins even got an outfit and they were skipped for an add on pass/rework when they were supposed to be NEXT! It's just funny seeing people meltdown over Haddie just because she didn't get a new cosmetic
-
She got hit with the nerf hammer huge. Nurse, purely at base without add ons is simply a good killer who needs to be learned. With Add-ons she was GREAT and didn't take as much time, but since most of her add ons are bad to say the least, there's nothing aiding new players hugely like before and she doesn't have benefits high skilled players could abuse. She's in a good spot rn

Vittorio is the first historical survivor and up until now you couldn't even tell from his looks, they legit gave him a fade hairstyle in art that shows him before he was taken. The real reason they're spoiling him is because he's designed to be a Twitter thrist trap.Nothing wrong with giving fans what they'll pay for but it's still the real reason.

I can't see myself ingame as killer so I don't care about their cosmetics at all.
Okay thats you but plenty of other people do. And okay BHVR can't do history lessons, point is is he fills a really niche role that only killers had until now. I'm sure Haddie will get her tome soon probably next. Point is, is Haddie just isn't likable for the majority of players. I can't relate to anything about Haddie and I don't like Haddie's fashion which isn't even correct patterning.

Jonah wasn't played as much when he launched, but they still released skins for him and it didn't take 8 months either. He even has a recolor in the current rift. The killer haddie came with also isn't played as much, but it still received 2 store skins and was featured in the winter event tome with a neat cosmetic. Just seems like bhvr just launched her and then proceeded to forget about her, and is surprised she isn't being played. Why would players care about haddie if it seems like bhvr doesn't.
A. Haddie's visual appeal is only for a VERY specific few. Ofc she's going to be unpopular on start when most people only main survivors for their looks anyways.
B. Jonah got 1 store cosmetic and 1 rift outfit and he hasn't got either again since.
C. The Dredge's winter outfit was voted by the fandom not picked by BHVR

It's half meme and half genuine, at least where I'm concerned. =)
I really like Haddie, I think she looks tough and cool, so I play her. I don't play Jeff or Adam, so of course I'm gonna care a bit less about their cosmetics. Same as I don't play Feng or Dwight so I don't really care about theirs. Plus since they're older, they have a bit more choice, as it stands.
But she's the new survivor who came with the least outfits and still hasn't gotten much, only the ugly sweater to my knowledge. Her recolor cosmetics are also barely any different from the base cosmetics, particularly the heads are practically a rip off.
I don't crusade for her, but when the occasion rises to meme with others about a character I like, I take it ! =D
Well she got the same treatment as Artist and I don't recall people demanding artist cosmetics tbf. And Dredge dropped with even less cosmetics than both of them. I just think the whole thing is very silly

1) A shirt was recently released for Jeff as part of the cats and dogs collection and Adam had both a rift cosmetic and deep rift recolour for tome 13. Hardly over a year.
2) You contradict yourself by point out that she's newish and that Vittorio had a tome made "even before he was". Before he was released and before he became popular he already had a tome planned out for him. Where's Haddie's tome? Did she already have a whole tome planned out for her? Did she have multiple cosmetics upon release like Vittorio did? Or did she just have the same default outfit recoloured 7 times?
She's been in several other tomes AND several other peoples lores. She has PLENTY of tome lore but Vittorio is the FIRST historical survivor. They want to expand on him. And the whole "Jeff just got a shirt!" okay he got a SHIRT that he was supposed to get even before Haddie was released but was cancelled. And Adam got a tome skin, typically we don't include those since they're somewhat limited :/
-
What's up with the care for Haddie? She hasn't even been OUT for a year and everyone is screaming and crying for a Haddie cosmetic when Jeff and Adam haven't gotten any in over a year. Haddie is not only unpopular, but she's still a newish survivor so ofc its gonna be longer before she gets more outfits. Vittorio's tome was made before even he was AND he's a wildly popular survivor already so ofc he's gonna get some focus

But yeah, you had "countless end game chats". Or just another sad try to pretend that Nurse is not broken.
Nurse has no add ons basically now lol She's fine now. Nurse with add ons was broken but now she's just really good. Nurse add on less has always been a fairly strong but not hugely OP killer.

It doesn't work that way here, you can only complain if the maps are giant and the killers struggle to do gen pressure, in all other cases the solution is 'simply don't 3gen' and get on with it

When it comes to 3rd party hardware and licenses, it quite literally isn't just up to them.
Odds are they have to also talk to all of their existing IP license holder collaborators (which this game has a significantly higher number of) and get them on board too, depending on what kind of contracts they created earlier on in the games lifecycle. (And to make sure they don't cause any bad blood that may make future collaborations harder to achieve).
Well the IP holders clearly have 0 problem with it as cross progression already exists between systems and was about to for nintendo and BHVR before assumedly Nintendo cancelled. And considering Xbox has never had a problem with cross progression for any games (Even Paladins has cross progression amongst every system and they have less than 10% of the players DBD does), I highly doubt its just 'third party' issues and more than likely a BHVR issue

@AssortedSorting said:

Until BHVR has their own mandatory login for all players that they hold on their own database (A BHVR account), cross progression would be a pain in the arse and likely prone to errors.
They do have BHVR accounts but as far as I’m aware it’s still basically in “beta” testing.
Not sure if they’ve given up on that front or not though.
They give that "its not down to us!" Excuse quite often. It's getting tiring when companies clearly don't care especially Xbox -> Microsoft store or even Xbox -> Steam, both of which are perfectly fine with crossplay. My bets are either
- They wont do it because Sony won't approve it and they don't want the rage of the playstation fanbase being 'left out' so now no one gets it
- They wont do it because it earns them more money for people to restart all purchases from scratch as well as inflating player count since then people have to play longer to grind for their stuff back.
-
Insane to me Xbox -> Microsoft store isn't done yet. I feel like its an intentional hold back but who knows Ig

Agree to disagree.
- Every boon does not have to be buffed if CoH is nerfed. That's false equivalency. The other boons are fine, b ut CoH is too strong.
- Again; Boons are lose/lose for the Killer no matter what. Either he wastes time snuffing, or he lets Survivors benefit. He should not have a sadistic boon that slows him down, thereby forcing him to stop and boon hunt every time Survivors squat on another totem.
Again, I feel like you're HUGELY overestimating this effect. While yes it slows them down by 2%, that really wont be a huge difference in most chases where it doesn't currently and using your scenario (of survivors running back to it always) isn't it better how it currently is for that since they gain a movement speed bonus when they get close and get to keep it when they leave? Wanted to add, Dark Theory is the LEAST used boon in the game with a 0.32% pick rate with Exponential having a 1.9%, Shadow Step having a 2.57%, and COH having a 19.48% pick rate and there must be a reason behind it having such an extremely low pick rate.
-
@Stabby_Widdershins said:
https://forums.bhvr.com/dead-by-daylight/discussion/comment/3321764#Comment_3321764
It is already useful. There's no reason to make it screw Killers just because YOU don't think it's useful.
I outlined why Boons are lose/lose anyways, and this would make the choice even worse.
Well BOONS aren't the problem, COH is. If COH is to get a nerf in the future to make it a balanced perk then that would mean every other boon beyond shadow step needs to be brought up in some way to make them worth using. Dark Theory as it stands provides a minimal effect with no information given to the killer its in play beyond "Oh I hear a boon." And something like movement speed should have something that shows its active. This kills two birds with one stone making the boon better so it could stand on its own feet while also giving good info to the killer
-
@Seraphor said:
https://forums.bhvr.com/dead-by-daylight/discussion/comment/3321751#Comment_3321751
Eh. Dark Theory isn't fine as it is. It's a very awkward effect to balance. Too slow and it's virtually worthless, too fast and it's broken, with no real middle ground.
This idea could actually be something that gives it a suitable middle ground. As long as the relative speed difference is the same (makes killers 2% slower), then it would A. get slightly more use out of it and B. make the killer more obviously aware of it's presence.
Then it wouldn't be a stealth speed boost that doesn't really do anything, it would be an obvious debuff that gives the killer a clear indication that it's in play, and thus the informed choice as to whether to snuff it or not, as well as giving a 'Whispers' style way to locate it.
Ty! Yes I meant to keep it at 2% just swap effects. + It would help with the whole "I can never find boons!" Problem killers face while giving a good enough benefit to warrant survivors using it.

Except your forgetting about time economy.
Survivors can boon a totem AND do gens. So they don't lose out when booning.
Killers, on the other hand, cannot Snuff and patrol. Or Snuff and chase. or do anything involving 2 actions. So, with your change, they would be slowed, have to slowly find the Boon, and then Snuff it. Or leave it and have Survivors drag them towards it in every chase. Lose/lose.
Plus, Survivors can re-boon forever. So even after they waste time snuffing; Survivors just re-boon, and Killer is slowed in that area again.
PLUS, what about multi-level maps? Killer gets slowed 1 floor down, has to find stairs, go up, re-enter the slow zone, find it, and snuff it.
No thanks. It's fine as is.
I mean it would make it an actually useful Boon in a sense. It wouldn't be super strong at all I think you guys are over estimating what I mean. Nothing drastic just the 2% but instead of buffing survivor speed it slows the killer in the range

If you make an already mostly-useless status effect even more pointless by having the most common and powerful item in the game counter it completely, killers will simply stop using it. Then they'll run a regression perk in it's slot. Would you like that? Is that healthier for the game than an aggressively mediocre status effect?
I'm sorry you had a game where a killer perk inconvenienced you. It hardly warrants a new mechanic designed to counter that perk.
Damn why's everyone so hostile and rude lol. Literally no need for all that you can just leave constructive criticism 😪also yeah I would like that actually lol

Haemorrhage is intended to be a counter to partial healing. You can't just keep stacking counters on top of counters.
It's like complaining that Adrenaline doesn't work when the killer has Terminus. No #########.
There's a difference between interrupting heals and making already weak perks weaker
-
@MeanieDeeny said:
So rework the entire system to cancel out one killer perk?
Mangled and hemorrhage both apply from a lot of killer powers and perks.
And the system needs a desperate rework anyways and when you rework the healing system you'll need a way to counter balance the new and improved buff mangled and hemorrhage would get by healing speeds overall being much slower

I smile every time I read "shady tactics". I wonder how many of these "straight arrows" are doing any business with Activision/Blizzard, Ubisoft, Electronic Arts, Take 2, Bethesda ... all having displayed real anti-consumer, manipulative and down-right scummy tactics.
If they do, their voice doesn't hold much weight, does it?
Without mentioning that in any business*, a time-exclusive sale (for any kind of event) is basic commerce. (And also increases the value of the item.)
*) Which BHVR is.
Thankfully I dont do business with any of them and stopped playing OW when OW2 came out and revealed all new content besides maps was locked behind pay walls. Oh in which case let's hope that the devs knew that and the higher ups demanded it anyway, like what happens with regular skin distribution.
What I really don't get is the idea behind this whole limited time cosmetics change.
Like its understandable they think making something limited time = more money but does it really? Do they really think that all these people in the game will buy enough of these cosmetics in the little over 4 week span to make up for the potential hundreds to thousands who would buy them all year long? Especially ones like the onsies or pajamas which aren't holiday themed. I know I didn't want Mikaela's PJs when they first came out but I bought them a couple months ago in august when I wanted to expand my Mikaela wardrobe.
Leaving them in the store makes it more likely that people who don't main that survivor will buy them while making them limited time only makes it to where no one would buy it unless its for your main. I have no intention on getting Meg's, Mikaela's dress, Kate' (Im a Kate main its just ugly), or Tricksters to where I might have gotten Meg's and Trickster's later down the line if it was permanent and I wanted to play them more. IMO it just seems like such a bad and stupid decision even from a business's standpoint

tbh im glad they are. it couldve been a higher up decision, for all we know (hence why every complaint ive made has been at BHVR and not individual devs or other memebers of the team) and that mandy was able to communicate before the 4 weeks were over that they wouldn't be made available for shards is nice.
because can you imagine the backlash if that was revealed on december 29th or, god forbid, after it.
I was more so referring to flat out saying that the devs were aware that the playerbase would be unhappy with these changes IE time limited cosmetics and such.

I completely understand that...and yes, we did not want players to expect them to be released for iri shards at the end of December and then become disappointed, whilst I'm not bringing good news, it's something we did want to address as quickly as possible.
So you know the players dont like either of these but chose to do them anyways? Why would you even admit to that that's kinda bad on your guys end

Tell that to the ranged Killers. They will sure love it.
As it is, maps are barren, un immersive, feel weird to play, and don't typically fit the vibes they're going for and more clutter slightly helps that by making the maps feel more alive. Playing Huntress hasn't felt super horrible lately however I think most range killers need slight buffs anyways.

So... nerfing Gen regression perks is buffing Gen rush???
And what about Corrupt, DMS, Thrilling Tremors and Deadlock???
Dying Light and Thanatophobia???
It's more like Survivors realizing that they are more efficient on Gens rather then completing a Gen then taking a lap around the map... so on and so forth
So no matter what happens with regression perks... it's more like 4V1 being the game
Corrupt got nerfed, DMS was nerfed, Thrilling doesn't do anything about gens just gives you info, deadlock is pretty good, Thana is worthless on every killer but Legion, Dying light is okay but still not that great especially since its pairing with Thana has been obliterated

That’s a minimum of 3 survivors not on gens. Between that and pallets being broken it’s still a net gain for the killer
Thats my point. Is that its much more affordable for a survivor to hop off a gen real fast, pick someone up, then hop back on than it is for a killer to start a whole new chase. In that new chase, most likely another gen will pop off and depending on where the survivor you chased off is, possibly another gen will get done when the other person returns. Then the person who is now up has started a gen. So essentially, 2 generators + a new one being worked on is starting up before you can get your next hook.
