I like how the update that introduces a pallet stun perk is the update that breaks pallet stuns.

Honestly. A decent Nurse who you can fool can be fun but playing against a super sweaty Nurse (Who often slugs within the first minute of the game) is probably my least favorite experience in this entire. I have much more fun playing mouth breather Meg without Iron will against Spirit far more than I do against a good Nurse lmao.
Then again, he did say he was low rank so the Nurse players probably aren't at all sweaty.
Wait, when did I say I was low rank?

He's definitely not wrong about the forums 😂
I'd say on here if a survivor main (usually someone new to the forums) says something outrageous, the rest of the survivor mains usually don't agree with them. I.e Nerf BBQ.
Whereas if a killer says something outrageous, I feel like killer side of the community are more likely to agree with them. I.e Remove SWF/Separate modes for solo and swf players.
Just my opinion btw
You know when an outrageous survivor main thread pops up, it's almost certainly going to be flooded with pages and pages of new posts by the end of the next day?
With reasonable debate and discourse, of course.

Once 1 survivor is left the gates will be powered and egc will start
Gate spawns would have to be looked at or it would also pretty much be up to chance.

The thing is, Freddy has been my main ever since I first started playing DBD. He is my favourite character and seeing him on a trial is always a pleasant experience, no matter if I am playing as him or against him.
I wish I could have that same kind of enjoyment with him.
I love Freddy as a character, in the movies, but as soon as I see the sleep timer around my portrait years of my life start ticking down.
-
Yeah, but you've got Freddy in your picture.
You're a wild card and I don't know what you're gonna do next.

I like how Freddy's always at the bottom.

damn you like playing against nurse? I could never see me genuinely enjoying every moment with a good nurse but if theyre just decent its fun to try to trick them
If they're just decent, it's a good time (for me) to juke them successfully and have a good little back and forth.
If they're godlike, i'm at least decently impressed with their skill and can't be mad.

I run We'll Make It, Borrowed Time and We're Gonna Live Forever all part as my permanent build (fourth is Iron Will if you're curious). In what way does that make me a 'selfish teammate'?
No, it's not a team game. This isn't a battle royale, where your entire squad wins if one person makes it to the end. If you get knocked out at the start of the match, you've lost. Other survivors escaping does not change that fact.
There's explicitly perks that encourage solo play. Look at Left Behind, Sole Survivor, Technician and Self-Preservation.
Look at the game's official description:
https://us.v-cdn.net/6030815/uploads/R2M7X8PKVSJG/image.png
That first sentence comes to mind.
Get off your high horse and stop making rude and frankly incorrect assumptions about people you do not know.
That part of the store page is the stupidest crap I keep having to hear about from the "iT's nOT a teaM GamE" crowd.
You know what? Sure. Once the exit gates are open. It's not a team game anymore. You're free to piss off and leave your teammates to die once literally all of your objectives are complete.
At every point before that it is. Every mechanic encourages teamwork. You being able to do more harm than good to your team doesn't change this. You know what game really DID have this "it's not a team game" idea in mind?
Friday the 13th.
Because it wasn't just "gates or pity hatch for the one person". You could call the cops and escape. You could fix the boat and escape. You could fix one of two cars, each with different amounts of seats you could chose to use and drive off. You could wait out the clock. All of this is not only possible to do alone while everyone else is busy with Jason, but entirely feasible. Nothing stopped you from fixing the two-seater all by yourself and just leaving, winning the match for yourself. There's even an achievement for it.
THAT'S a game where you can really go it solo-- because you can win and survive early on while the match goes on as normal for everyone else.
With DbD, the hatch is a pity mechanic for the last survivor to end the game quicker. If you aren't a team player, it's the only way you can get out, and it's not even the purpose of the mechanic. To "play selfish and go alone", you would literally have to get your entire team killed. Before, the hatch only spawned if enough gens were done.
Before that, there wasn't a hatch at all.
You think a dude who "plays selfish" and doesn't help his team like the store page told him to do's gonna do 3 gens by himself? In almost every situation it's nigh suicidal.
Jesus.

Thousands of people play solo queue. I'm one of them. Thousands play like I do, preparing for things like NOED because we aren't lazy.
Better luck next time. Sit.
This sheer smug aura over arguing about videojames on forums is incredible.

While it's completely anecdotal I had really good chest luck today for example, think the worst thing I got was a yellow medkit and the rest was purple/green toolboxes, purple/red keys and red maps. While yesterday it was brown medkits/toolboxes featuring a few yellows here and there.

You can, but the only chance you have to kill them is if you do all 3 rituals, which means survivors did all of their objective. So it's not like they can bully a killer all game and then kill them. It's pretty much either they escape or attempt to kill the killer. The basic killer (Belle) is pretty easy to kill, but the other 2 are harder, since they have more health and strength. So it's not that bad.
The worst part abou the game is how monetized everything is. Cosmetics you have to buy, lootboxes you have to pay for (though you get 1 free for every level up), killers and survivors and a currency you can only get 1 of from lootboxes and those cosmetics you can buy with them cost like 300-500. And if that wasn't enough, they've announced they're working on a battlepass. If a game has like 70% of the game is locked behind a paywall during EARLY ACCESS, then you know what the devs is only after.
The game ain't even out and they've already got the racket sorted out.
Ain't that something close to what Evolve idd?

I understand trying to use reverse logic on someone but this was a bad example, you said yourself, "survivors hide in lockers and don't do gens for 20 minutes" they are the ones not doing anything to progress the game its not like the killer can do gens.
The point in both examples is that they aren't completing their objective, just preventing the other side from completing theirs.
The killer does a 3 gen doc and literally does nothing but keep people off gens, doesn't down, doesn't hook, doesn't chase, just keeps those gens at 0-- not completing his objective. Refusing to, actually. Just stopping them from completing theirs.
The survivors hide away for as long as humanely possible so the killer can't find find them, never touching gens, just staying out of sight-- not completing their objective. Again, refusing to. Just stopping the killer from doing theirs.
Same #########, difference side. There's functionally no difference. If the survivors just aren't trying hard enough to complete the gens and therefore are holding the game hostage, the killer isn't trying hard enough to find the survivors and is also holding the game hostage.
Both are stupid statements or neither is.

At the same time, the survivors aren't doing anything else so you can say they're holding the game hostage.
When survivors hide in lockers and don't do gens for 20 minutes, the killer isn't doing anything so you can say he's holding the game hostage.
-
Oh.

Sounds like it didn't pay off for him.
True, he could've held them there for 80 minutes instead of 40 if it wasn't for that key.
What a loss.
-
Yeah, it's pretty terrible.
-
Wowee here we go again.
-
Just gormlessly standing there like an idiot while the Survivor's free to run away for like, a whole-ass second is dumb as hell.
But visibly hopping off a gen and starting to run off before getting warped onto the Killer's shoulders would be equally dumb as hell.
Ideally, there's a good middle ground here.
-
Who cares? Play how you play.
People complaining about people who complain about how they play are just as annoying as the latter.
-
Bad. I usually just end up memeing with the remaining survivors and letting them escape.

No what made blight an actual good killer was lethality in chase. Personally I find lethality + some other factors trump any amount of mobility you can have. Hence why I think deathslinger and Pyramid are better than billy.
Blight will not be that great in chase anymore, certainly better than some killers, but not great and nowhere near where current flicking blight is.
EDIT: Obv mobility still matters, and blights combo of mobility and lethality is what makes him top 5 currently.
Slinger better than Billy?
Now that's a take and a half.

Bugfixed can effect balance by a large amount.
J flick is fun, and it's what makes blight a good killer. Removing it nerfs him hard.
Because it's BHVR, asking for a remotely substantial killer buff is like talking to a brick wall. I may as well advocate for them to be lazy and not remove it.
No, I mean that bugfixes don't care if they effect balance or not. They happen anyway, because ironing out their game is part of their job.
And I thought what made Blight a good killer was incredible map mobility and the ability to take down survivors very fast with clever and skillful (intended) use of his power.

When the flick has counterplay, so there's literally no reason to remove it other than to make survivors experiences easier.
If it was something like infinite mending Legion, id understand. But this has counterplay and raises the skillcap of playing and versing blight.
Orrr the reason to remove it is that it's an unintended exploit.
Bugfixes don't care about balance.
If it's such an amazing thing, fix it, then implement your own version that doesn't require PC fuckery to pull off.
-
Yes, removing an exploit that allows Blight to ignore his deliberately limited turning radius would nerf him.
I don't think anyone's contesting that.
-
@[Deleted User] said:
“Its an exploit so is stretched. Itll be removed mclean confirmed it.”
Of course it’s getting removed, of course it is. Quickly discovered, quickly removed.
Notice how in the same sentence we have another exploit that has been around a lot longer yet is given the green light by McLean and the rest of the developers?
Once again an exploit is perfectly fine as long as it’s on the survivor side. These people intentionally keep the killer experience ######### so that survivors have more fun dunking on them and buying cosmetics
Mmm yes
victimhood.

The counterplay from what i gathered is to get out of line of sight and just assume the Blight will use the J-Flick, aside from the usual 360s and pre-dropping pallets
Alright, but do you think that A: knowing what the J-flick is, and B: assuming that the Blight also knows what it is and is going to use it is a bit much?
-
But why would I do that when I could just hide behind a tree immediately after unhooking?
