I get that a lot of players do the whole "but the 1V4 matters you shouldn't have a chance of losing the killer, etc" to defend Spirit and even Deathslinger, but I when I look at all the killers I actively enjoy playing as or even against the most, they all have clear cut counterplay. Billy, Huntress, Leatherface, etc.
When I see a killer and think "guess I'll die" it really kills my motivation to continue playing the match.
I don't enjoy playing as Spirit anymore because I know that I have full control, and nothing short of me getting an important phone call or a power cut is going to prevent that 4K. Same with Slinger.
You'd think people who make such a big fuss about the 1v4 would want a good equilibrium with the 1v1, not "I want the most fun part of the game to be a predetermined outcome in my favor".

Actually, Iron Will negates Spirit Power 100% without Stridor. There's no breathing, no grunts of pains. If the survivors doesn't even move, how do you expect the Spirit to find him? Guessing too?
To be honest, Iron Will needs more rework than Stridor.
Well, if you don't see scratch marks, see grass shuffling, or hear footsteps and you're not running Father's Glasses to make it moot point anyway, you can tell that they can't have possibly gone far from there and just exit phase because there's no punishment to not hitting someone directly out of phase.
Iron Will barely slows down good spirits. And they can just run Stridor so even that doesn't matter.
-
Now here's the take of the century.
Nerf Iron Will, Stridor and Spirit.
-
Might not know there's a gen being worked on where they're running.
Might not know there's a gen over there at all.
Might be running into a dead zone if they don't run your way.
It's a mite bit difficult to keep track of when you're running for your life.

That would render it completely useless. Even if used "as intended" by dodging a hit, if you're in the open you'll still go down within a couple of seconds. If you're in a jungle gym and find yourself unable to do anything, you'll still go down.
Dead hard is fine.
A small price to pay for salvation.

Well let's all be honest here, the challenge is a setup. I like Jund just fine, but of course that 1v1 starting at the hatch was going to be a nightmare to counter play. :) The thing is those aren't the conditions in an actual game. If we are refining his argument to say there is zero counter play against a Star Player in a 1v1 Loop situation where the Killer starts with you already in her sights, that is a much more narrow argument than simply saying Spirit has no counter play.
The best counter play to Spirit is good evasion, i.e. stealth and attrition. This challenge end runs that option. :)
Well.. yeah.
That's kind of the point. Against a good spirit, there is no counterplay in a chase.
"Just don't get found" applies to literally anyone except Doctor and it's about as helpful advice as "just pressure gens".

But isnt that true the other way around too? If you have a survivor that doesnt make mistakes while looping, what does a trapper do to him, or a clown? He can occupy the killer the whole game, but that doesnt seem to be a problem.
However, how common are Nurses, Spirits and perfect looper-survivors?
(and i dont disagree with you here, there is not much to do vs the really really good nurses and spirits). I just think there are some double standards here.
Here's the way I look at it.
The survivor's input needs to matter in a chase, 'cause that's like.. the best part of the game. So naturally, killers you can't do anything against at a certain level like Spirit and Nurse are big problems, because your skill at the best part of the game doesn't matter anymore. But there could be a theoretically perfect looper that you can't catch, and the killer's skill needs to matter too.
But assuming you're not a weaker killer (clown, trapper, pig) who really doesn't have a good power for closing out chases, you've got some good way of getting them with the proper application of skill and reads. Blight, Slinger, Huntress, and PH come to mind. And even if you just really can't catch them.. you can always break chase. There's three other survivors who have to put themselves in dangerous positions to complete their objective, and the map is constantly getting less safe as the game goes on. Knowing when to break chase and go for someone else is an incredibly important skill as killer.
They can't all be safe. And if they are, that's the fault of the map more than anything.

This is why we play Nurse. And slug at 5 gens.
I legitimately hate people like this. It's one thing to use an OP item for an undeserved win, but to brag about it after and call the killer who could do NOTHING about it bad? This is an example of actual toxicity. People like this ruin multiplayer games.
I'm sure your shining example will inspire the community.

Well obviously uhhhh..
The guy just didn't know to do the double reverse silent window glide into pre-drop pallet into double crouch and slowly crawl away, so this video proves nothing, stupid spirit blaspheming streamer destroyed again.

I'm hopeful, but
not too hopeful.

It is extremely minor to near non existent. Also reduced further by crouching. Totally gone when injured as well if we're taking Stridor off.
This doesn't stop me from mind gaming rank one Spirits all the time. Nearly no Spirit is actually hearing that breathing, it's usually the survivor being simply predictable.
"Difficult to hear" is not equal to "Doesn't exist". Plenty of killers still hear it.
If you're running Stridor because why wouldn't you, there's always a giveaway. Whether you or others have trouble discerning it doesn't make it not exist.
And if you're not running Stridor for some reason and they're running Iron Will, then if you're hearing literally nothing and seeing no blood if you're not running Father's Glasses, then you can figure out that they can't possibly have gone far from there and just stop phasing because there's no punishment to not hitting someone out of a phase.

A big thing I learned real quick is to know when not to use your power. Trying to do a fancy move and get a Rush hit at a difficult tile instead of just playing it normally can lose you way more time than you save.
He's also got crazy mobility, so perks that play to those strengths are very, very good on him.
We've all felt the terror of a Ruin Undying Tinkerer blight before.

Nope.

Well if we can avoid the satire and think logically, good survivors are avoiding the foliage and the survivor will not be giving you footstep sounds because he will just break line of sight and stand still mind game you since you will have literally zero information to read off of.
And then you hear their breathing because of Spirit.

Things even semi competent survivors will not be giving you.
Exactly. You can tell a bad survivor from a good one by how much they're touching the ground.
A bad survivor still uses their feet like an idiot, whilst a good survivor has learned levitation and floats along in pure silence.
-
Just make it so you can't vault or throw down pallets for a few seconds after you Dead Hard.
There, it's fixed.
-
It's not even this challenge that's so hilariously offensive, because if everything past it was super tough too, i'd be like.. sad, but understanding.
But a challenge right next to it is so free it's basically just "Don't be AFK the whole game". Chase 3 different survivors in one game. When does that ever not happen?
And the Infectious Fright challenge is literally just using a very good perk for exactly what it's meant for.
So I say again-- what the 𝓕 𝓤 𝓒 𝓚 .

Have y’all noticed that mains of one side only ever acknowledge misbehavior of the other side even though that behavior is typical for toxic players on both sides?
I have, but my tribe mentality prevents me from admitting as such for my own side, so GG EZ git gud.
-
Are you aiming at the healing survivor? I've seen it happen before, where I shoot the healing survivor right in the face and it just phases through them.
What I think is happening is that, when the survivor leans way over to give the other one backrubs, their actual standing hitbox doesn't change and it's way behind where it looks like they are.
That's how it used to be with generators. You're crouching way down, but the game still treats your hitbox like you were standing.
-
I hope not, or i'm in trouble.
-
If I win, I give 'em a GG and move on.
If they were an especially good sport, I thank 'em and move on.
If they kill me, they get a "Darn. GG."
If they're being [BAD WORD], I just leave.

I don't have her.
She is, pointedly, the very last killer I plan on obtaining.
I will literally purchase the Twins and Trickster over her on principle until Spirit has to play DbD too.

The gatdamn truth.
-
Nothing wrong with playing to win.
We can still make fun of people who play like their families are being held hostage and the only way to free them is to win though, right?
-
Is this a cleverly disguised hint that the ctrl key was the true hidden counter to Spirit all along?

Yeah, I haven't tried it yet, but it doesn't sound great. There's another level 2 master challenge that's literally "chase three survivors." That one's more my speed.
It's basically just "Don't be AFK'.

This challenge is dumb, but it's dumb because you could literally rename it "Camp the hook with Corrupt Purge as The Plague" and it wouldn't make a difference. How this challenge wasn't thought out is baffling. There is literally no other way to reliably complete this challenge. Thanks, devs. Can't wait to be camped.
Yeahhh, pretty much my thoughts.
I figure that the only way i'm getting this challenge is to either farm, or Insidious camp someone with Corrupt Purge and hope they fall for it twice, then let them go as an apology.

Wholesome.

Meg doesn't look quite as much like a brick now, which is a nice improvement.
-
You know "come Cowshed 1v1" is a joke for a reason, right?
He was a no perk Trapper not using his power on the most notoriously busted map in the game for survivors.
This is as much of an indication of Survivors being too powerful as a Ruindyingtinkerdaughter's ring rank 1 Spirit against perkless survivors in the 7 pallet Suffocation Pit.

No, it's super bait.
-
No.
Alright, good discussion.

I used to be a nice killer.
I handed out ice cream to wandering survivors and pushed them on the swings when they asked for it.
But i've endured too much, too long. Too many teabags. Too many clicky clicks. I've been pushed to the brink.
Now i'm a dark avenger. A shadow in the night. A cold killer with a heart of gold, brooding under the moonlight, out to revenge myself upon Survivors everywhere for the suffering my people go under as the Killer underclass.
Sigh.
-
Honestly? Myers, too.
I know he's just an M1 killer. I can loop 115 killers with actual good powers pretty consistently. But there's something about Michael that shuts my brain off and makes me play like an idiot against him.
Maybe that's his real power-- brain smoothing.

That’s when I throw my mouse on the floor in rage. Never done that before and hopefully I don’t ever get that mad lol.
I wasn't in any danger of losing that match, luckily, so I took it in stride.
If that turned out to be the move that cost me the whole game though, i'd probably have a lot in common with Don Juan Pond.
