How dare

I'll never forget the time I rushed at someone at the Sanctum of Wrath to slam off a rock
only to slide off the rock
then slide off the tree behind the rock
then slide off a little statue
then run dead into a wall at the bottom of the Sanctum without slamming and just kinda hghehgehgh in place for the last half second of my rush.

God bless.

I'm pretty sure the title was edited by a mod.

Game 4, Cowshed (ha ha hahhahaaaaa)
29 minutes of hostage taking, teabagging in the exit gate until the last second of EGC
DbD is literally unplayable on European servers as killer if you just want to play and/or do challenges. I'm done trying to find gameplay against these people. I'm now a Bubba main and you know EXACTLY where i'll be standing with my ######### chainsaw.
Edit: Update with Game 5,Went Bubba, 100% camped the first basement hook out, got a 4k and a pip. Yay. This is DbD 2021 how i guess it's supposed to be played. Excuse me while i go throw up.
It sounds like you should find a different game to play 'cause this one isn't doing it for you.

Yesterday, starting to play with the same crew a lil' more often.
They're all relatively new and one of 'em's cursed to always get killed first no matter how hard I try to die for them, but it's a good time when we're not thrown against Stridor spirits and rank 1s.
-
There's perks that will dissuade tunneling, like Decisive Strike and Borrowed Time, plus more niche stuff like Babysitter and Off the Record, but if a killer really wants you dead, there's not really much you can do to stop them.
Just make it as inconvenient for them as humanly possible.

I don't think the game has gotten any less scary in theme. But it has gotten less scary as far as pressure is involved. Making people jump out of their own ass is fine. I don't think to this day I've ever had a problem with jump scaring people. But not every killer has a scary kit.
And I think that is the main problem. Most killers in this game just do not have a scary or the type of kit that keeps players on edge. Something I think they should actively try to solve tbh. Before we get more cartoon ass content making these licensed characters look like joke characters.
If BHVR can't get it together and keep some of the shocks and cool sweat inducing interactions up then this game will go down the well into the "Party cartoon pvp" spectrum. Like Fortnite or something. The whole reason I even bother with DBD is because it was horror in nature. They just need to adjust a lot of these killers kits, soundtracks, and interactions to either keep people on edge when you're playing against said killer, or stop giving as much information when you're against a more spooky jump scare type of killer. As a Pig I know I'm doing a good job with this because I can read a survivors reaction, and later check a vod to confirm if I did indeed make someones heart jump out of their chest when they pop a gen and sprint burst away. Then I'm doing my job at least for the survivors who did buy this game hoping to see something or experience something scary.
You know it'd be like buying the game Outlast, and instead of the monster and environment going out of its way to scare the player, they instead post a bunch of text on screen warning you of each and everything thats about to happen next before it happens on screen. Thats the problem with current dead by daylight and its fear factor. Basically, you're watching a horror movie and there are spoilers that pop up on screen 1 minute in advance. Imagine that, going to a theater to see a horror movie and that type of text is constantly popping up.....wouldn't you walk out or feel like you're getting cheated?
All i'm saying is that people don't get several thousand hours in this game for its horror aspect.

Welcome to Nurse v0.9.
-
Is it really a meme build if it's effective, though?
-
Maybe if they showed the players' hour counts too, so the killer doesn't feel the need to go ruindyingtinkerdaughter's ring when they see a full group of people who collectively have around 200 hours.
..actually, that might make some want to more.
Nevermind.

I swear, the influx of fresh killer accounts coming here swinging with massive chips on their shoulders is a seasonal thing or something.

Thank you for speaking out against

brave soul, it's about time someone did.

I can at least see what the Nurse is doing.

Some days ain't DbD days.
A lot of days ain't Solo days.

Screaming in real life every time you land a hit is a great way to increase your power.

Jesus christ i'm just trying to get the power back on so I can make some grilled cheese and you come in here swinging

I've definitely gotten messages in chat from globe gamers, though.

Have fun?
-
Yup! Being your own play-by-play commentary can help you notice your mistakes and keep focused on your objectives.
Though when I play Deathslinger, it ususally just devolves into aggressive cowboy noises.
-
I don't know if you're just a very expressive baiter or not
but if so, I wholeheartedly recommend finding another game to play because this one doesn't seem to be very healthy for you.
-
The hatch is there to end the game. Either the survivor finds it first or the killer finds it first.
Before that, the survivor would just hide forever because there was no way in hell they'd be able to do like 3 gens by themselves.
If it gets your britches in such a twist, slug for the 4k. You have the option.

I don't have Spirit so I can't play as her so I've come to this thread again! Youtube videos unfortunately are so full of talking and music that they aren't very helpful.
What noises does Spirit hear when she's in her fade walk? I know running is the big one.
Does she hear...
Gens?
Totem cleansing?
Healing?
Is it basically any noise? I just went against her and I tried standing entirely still each time I heard the audio cue that she was walking and she found me each time. I wasn't near operating gens, in fact I was hunting her Devour Hope totem. 🤔 Thank you anyone in advance I'm just really struggling with Spirit in a way I never have before.
* Again, not calling her OP or asking for nerfs or anything, I'm simply trying to understand gameplay counters rather than perks.
She hears everything as normal.
She can't see the survivors themselves, and if she has the mother daughter ring, she can't see scratch marks as well.
-
Yes, survivors don't fear you.
Because you're not actually a killer. You're a dude playing a video game against other people playing a video game.
And eventually, you learn a game.
You learn how to play it effectively. You learn that the chase is the most fun part of the game. You learn that holding M1 is the least fun part. You learn how to help while engaging in the most fun part of the game. You learn how to do silly, fun things.
I've been playing for a good 'ol while now. I don't fear the killer, and I don't expect to be feared.
It doesn't keep me up at night.
-
Well, if you're offering, i'd like you to pick me up a pizza at the Pizza Hut 4 blocks down.

disagree on end game considering survivors can just 99 the gate so this gives them time to loot chests and then run for the exit with little to no repercussions.
end game will also push the limits of BT and DS
If they have the gates 99'd, they've completed all of their objectives.
Ideally, you get them before that point. There being less pallets and a shrinking effective map as the game goes on should help.

Funny how people are so confident and sure about this statement but don't find any problem with keys, which completly negate said "end of the match when the killer is at their strongest".
Sure, keys are dumb.
But in normal gameplay (and hopefully after keys are changed) that statement is still absolutely true.
I appreciate coming in swinging when no one brought up keys, but chill.
-
The beginning of the match is when the killer is at their weakest.
The end of the match is when the killer is at their strongest.
RNG exacerbates this, but that's how it always is.

As far as i've been made aware, even if the shards do glow, you'd have to basically be within touching range of the Spirit to be able to tell.

It's actually a perk that combined them called "lithe hard"
Only swf are allowed to use it
And don't even mention Lithe Harder.
Only Seal Team 6 SWFs get access to that forbidden technique.

Who's gonna be mad at them? People don't even know who the killer and survivor are and they are already begging for the chapter to be expensive like Stranger things so they get to waste more money.
The DLC will sell fine and people are easy to please.
The people fighting the Dimitrescu vs. Nemesis war.
-
This sucks for BHVR.
The decision's pretty much out of their hands, but people are still gonna be assmad at them and them specifically if it's RE7/8 or the classic games.
-
Were you the obsession?
He could've had Rancor, or Devour Hope.
-
BBQ really is a "Why wouldn't I run it"? perk.
There's a lot of perks that're pretty much just made irrelevant next to other perks that do their job better/ do their job better and more. Hopefully we'll get 'em bumped up to the same level of power eventually.

Or you know, people could just accept they lost. Sometimes you win, sometimes you lose. Being delusional and reshape reailty so you still think you won when you didn't seems pretty sad.
But looking at this thread full of people who can't win the game so they pretend they don't even care about it and make excuses as to why they can't get a 4k as killer seems copium is in the air.
It's ok to lose. It's not ok to pretend you won when you didn't win.
And what're you gonna do to stop these people from committing the terrible sin of taking a personal victory when you don't think they won?
This is thread #2 that i've seen of someone going "you didn't win, how dare you think you won! I did! ME!" And my response is the same.
Who cares? What does them thinkng they won change?
Ignore it, move on. All getting mad at people for that is gonna do is drive you crazy.
-
Yup, some survivors are [BAD WORD].
-
In the future, if you wanna link Youtube videos, you can insert them directly into the thread instead of linking to Youtube with this button here.
-
Not really a whole lot you can do.
But a good tip is to learn how fast they are in their phase and mentally time when they'd get to you. It can help you make the right guess if you just get to a window or pallet, or if you can vault to a place they can't phase to in time.
Also-- quickly try to figure out if it's a 'clever' spirit or a clever spirit. A 'clever' spirit will always try to hit you from the opposite side of the window/pallet you just got to in an attempt to catch you on the back foot, and is pretty easy to predict.
A clever spirit, though.. hope your luck's good.
-
Now that's a Swooce tech if i've ever seen one.

Let me tell you the bloodstained tale of
𝓣𝓗𝓔 𝓑𝓘𝓛𝓛𝓑𝓞𝓞𝓩𝓛𝓔 𝓡𝓘𝓣𝓤𝓐𝓛.
Me and 3 other friends, all as Bill, going up against a poor confused Wraith that had no idea what was about to transpire.
We all found eachother immediately, and instead of actually doing anything productive we immediately performed ritual dances. The Wraith found us pretty quick, but didn't attack out of what was probably sheer bewilderment-- we quickly capitalized and surrounded the poor hapless Wraith, circling him, gesturing, flailing our cameras and just being a general menace.
But eventually, a sacrifice was necessary for the ritual; we all had an argument about who was the least Bill of the Bills and I was singled out for my sheer Billness. My friends pointed at me and chased me down with the Wraith until he got the message and hooked me.. the first sacrifice of many.
But that still wasn't enough for the ritual. The sacrifices continued, chosen at pretty much complete random, until there was only a single Bill remaining. The Wraith was a good boy and lead the final Bill to the hatch, where they nodded at eachother and my friend poised to enter..
Before immediately DCing on top of the hatch. Poor old man had a heart attack from all the excitement.
It was pretty amazing.
