Updated it. Check again
Again, fill out a report in the Bug Reports section of the forum (if you need a link let me know). That's where the devs look for these.
-
So WHY exactly can't you play survivor? Head over to the bug reports section of the form and fill it out in as much detail as possible, including platform, logs, your exact issue, and how it's reproduced.
-
No, imo you were perfectly justified. Play how you like, if others disapprove then they will (im guilty of this). However if they broke every hook, didn't anticipate for slugging (no mither/unbreakable) and then go out of their way to message you, then that's their fault.

You'd think that the detection would always be anchored to the killer instead of the survivor in that situation.... as well as the shock being tied to doc, not the survivor...

I'm actually quite confused that it works with the doctor like that. Sure, thinking about the DD mechanic it makes sense, thinking about the doctor it totally doesn't
I mean both say they're tied to the terror radius. So removing your terror radius and giving it to someone else, it would make sense that the bits of the power tied to the terror radius travel with it, no?

Well, I know how DD works, it's just weird that the KI readings get transferred too.
Out of curiosity, how is it weird? If docs static blast gets transferred with DD, which is a part of his power, then it makes sense that the bit of Legions power that works with the terror radius would also be transferred.

Legions case though isnt solely reliant on the TR though. If you'll note, The never sleep pills for example can increase the detection range while not affecting the actual TR.
Whilst this is true, the detection aspect of his kit is tied to the terror radius, not necessarily the range of it.
-
If I could direct you to the dbd wiki (not official, I know, however is the best source of info we have), you can see that killer instinct shows anyone within the terror radius. Therfore, Dark Devotion will show anyone within the obsession's terror radius, as it's classed as that of the Legion. Therefore, it doesn't act weird, as it interacts with the terror radius like all other terror radius perks. Think of KI as similar to Unnerving Presence, it works within the terror radius currently emitted.

If a macro won't help you then why bring it? Why risk getting banned if it provides no benefit to you anyway?
Because it doesn't break your keyboard whilst spamming whatever key (or is just annoying if it's on mouse wheel), is more comfortable, and won't suffer from bs lag which kills you for no reason?

From the icon by their name they're on windows store which, I believe, is crossed between windows and Xbox. Therefore they could sync their steam and their windows store game, as its on the same pc, which would then allow them to play on Xbox with their pc profile.
I think anyway, don't quote me on this.

Q&Q, Head On, Inner Strength, DS.
Challenge: Try and use Head On to stun the killer as many times as possible.
Q&Q let's you do it mid chase.
Inner Strength supplies some easy healing.
DS is as a safety net if the killer hates Head On and tries to tunnel you (ds stuns don't count).

You don't actually have to even swing. Just follow where I'm running and you can walk over there and catch the survivor off guard or trying to medium vault. That tractor is only as strong when the killer has no idea how to do it which is funny most of the time.
Oh you don't even have to swing? That's gonna save me a lot of time then; thanks man!
-
You know the killer can also swing onto the hay which skips the process of vaulting?Bamboozle also helps here. The BL nerf almost got rid of the infinite and it takes skill to pull off now. Plus it isn't an infinite; most killer powers help to counteract it with a few exceptions, and if they drop or mess up they can be easily mind gamed.
-
Something I saw and liked was literally just swapping their chainsaws. Hillbilly gets bubbas charge time and MS slowdown (since they'll probably touch his kit anyway), bubba gets HB's charge time and slowdown. It's less than ideal, but oh well.
Make the chili add ons function. That'd also be nice.
-
It's definitely a bug due to the fact that it sometimes doesn't actually happen. There's no whoosh while you're in the tr, or there is.
-
There's a difference between criticism and constructive criticism. Be mature about it and there's no issue. Saying "God you guys are dumb" is a lot different than "Why did you do this?" or "Why not do this instead?"
-
Okay so I agree with you mostly but I have some issues:
-From my own personal experiences, you can still do well without ruin. This comes from a green rank facing red ranks, who usually plays fairly. It's not instantly game over because one perk was lost.
-If you're waiting 10 minutes for killer queues there's something wrong. They're literally instant for most of the player base right now because there are literally no killers rn.
-
Aight see you in 3 days to post about how the devs hate all killer players
-
I remember reading a couple days ago from @Peanits that they encountered a problem with getting the cosmetics to people but are currently working on a fix.
-
Yeah, as survivor and killer.
As survivor:
-Try and help your team escape
-Try not to farm, especially without BT
-Do gens
-Play as well as you can, don't waste pallets.
-Don't bm unless they deserve it.
-Make sure everyone has fun
As killer:
-Don't use strategies, perks, add ons, or killers, who/which you hate facing. For me, that means things I think are a tad too strong, no moris, no camping, no tunneling, no noed, and no spirit.
-Make sure people get points and have fun
-Don't bm unless they deserve it
-If there's an early suicide, early dc, or if the game is a roflstomp, be kind to people and maybe give em hatch (depends if I got my bbq stack or not)
-Don't tunnel - I'm saying this again because of how much I believe in giving everyone a fun, interactive game. Like, to the point I either slug or down people if they've just been on the hook, even if it's been 2 minutes.

Point proven right there. You added yet another method to give survivors another chance to escape. You clearly can’t read either, nothing I said is about kills.
They gave survivors "yet another method to give survivors another chance to escape" because, like Peanits said, it isn't meant to be there for lethality. EGC is a way to prevent hostage situations. Nothing more, nothing less. Therefore if nobody gets downed the game is guaranteed to end. If they do, then the game is prolonged but is still guaranteed to end. Its unfair if you can literally just down someone and 2 minutes later they're dead. If it was meant for lethality, they would have designed it as such, but right now it fits its purpose. If it was designed to kill people, then the timer wouldn't pause. But it isn't. It's designed to give both players a chance for some last-minute plays and give a chance for more kills or escapes. Survivors are under pressure to escape before the timer hits 0, killers know that they have 2 minutes to kill people, or can prolong that time with a down or hook, leading to more.
Just because it gives survivors a chance doesn't mean its survivor sided.
-
Favourite build?
Surge, BBQ, PGTW, Surveillance.
Surge saves time kicking gens and is great when paired with surveillance. Freddy's ability to slow running and get easy first hits due to the teleport means surge is amazing.
BBQ gives you free info and bloodpoints. What's not to love? Combined with PGTW it's actually a killer.
PGTW is instant 20 second gen regression. It's godly. Plus BBQ and Surveillance give you the info you need to use it effectively; which gens have progress? Have they just turned yellow with surveillance or are they red again?
Surveillance gives essential information, as I just said. It shows if gens have just been worked on, or if its been a while. It helps you with pathing, and lets you hear survivors working on gens from ages away. It's great.
Best add ons? Probably Swing Chains and Jump Rope. But they're no fun, they just stall the game down to an unbearable degree.
Favoure add ons? Nancy's Masterpiece and Nancy's Sketch (although these can be relaxed with Outdoor Rope or Jump Rope, just remember to have at least one Sketch or Masterpiece). The ropes give some slowdown which insentivises survivors to wake up, wasting more time. However the drawings reduce the cooldown of your teleport for every survivor asleep. These are much more fun to use, but I like to mix and match.
Gl, hf, and I'll see you out there in fog.

No it’s changed. I tested it out a half done gen got reduced by 25% and the PGTW sparks were popping out of the gen as well. It actually works
I mean the PGTW sparks mean that it was regressed with a perk, cause surge gave them out too. But hey, I'll have to take your word that it works till I can get some friends to test it out with
-
Uhh, this has been here for a while but unless they changed something I got some bad news for you. Surge uses up PGTW but doesn't actually USE PGTW on the gens. So you lose the perk timer and get no value from it.
-
Actually all the time lmao, it's my go-to exhaustion perk just because of how much fun it is to use and to go against. I honestly don't get annoyed as a killer because it scares me more than anything, and as a survivor it's so much fun to confuse them with scratchmarks, and just as they realise where you are BAM you hit them with the head on.
-
Pink mori is so much better than facecamping though. You get to keep applying pressure to the team while still shaving off a complete hook stage for a survivor.
-
Honestly as someone who plays on both pc and switch, I see it's uses on both consoles. On switch, the way im set up means I can't use a headset, and all the sounds seem to blend together, so it makes it nice because terror radius, spirits whooshing, its all really hard to hear, but with spine chill then I can actually play around it.
On PC, it's still useful, just less so than I find it on console. It works well with my stealthy play style too.
-
No, you don't have to.
That being said, it's just nice. It's nice to let everybody have a turn at playing the game they spent way too long queuing for. It's nice to have a fun time. It's nice to be a nice person.
Plus, what shows more skill? Constantly going after one, injured survivor until they're dead, or masterfully juggling targets and playing around the 4v1, applying pressure and getting downs and hooks even when survivors have the chance to heal up and do something in the game. To me, the second one, hence I always try and play by some strict set of rules. Since I play both sides equally, then I know what is fun for me as a killer to face, and what is fun as survivor to face, and try to limit myself to doing this. Because if I can make sure people have fun, even if I lose by game standards, that's a win for me.
So no, you don't have to show mercy. Yes, it would be nice to, especially if you're already almost winning the game.

So your argument is the killer should just use perks... but survivors shouldn't use their info perks because... they aren't good enough? Because they are conditional?
The killer perks are also conditional and not perfect... shock.
Bond, open hand, spine chill, kindred, and empathy are all options if you want info on players.
I use bond and spine chill for example!
If Bond goes off it lets me know what is happening near me. Does someone need a heal? Is someone else working on a gen nearby that I can help with?
If Spine Chill goes off and no one is within range then I know the killer is coming just for me and to dip. If I do get in a chase with the killer then Bond lets me know where not to go. Don't wanna be leading him to my teammates working on gens.
If Spine Chill and Bond go off it lets me see the person in the chase or if they are hiding and the killer is now heading my way.
If neither are going off then I know I am safe to go gens and totem.
Tldr; we don't need a chase indicator.
No, what I said was that survivors have perks which, when used together, give indication of who's in a chase. Killers have indication of which survivors are on gens, etc, also using perks. Congrats, Problem solved right?
Except no. Swf who communicate with each other (not just on comms but maybe just through steam chat or even texting--when I mention swf I mean these ones, not those who don't talk) get all this information completely for free. In order for solo players to gain this information, we need to sacrifice perk slots. Empathy, Open handed, Kindred, Bond. All four perks gone just to know who's in a chase. Even the budget version of Bond and Open Handed, you've still lose half of your build. Anyone who communicates with each other gets this information without needing to use at minimum half of their build for it.
The reason why I don't say to give it to killers is because there's no group of killers who get this for free, whilst other killers don't. All killers are treated equally in the information they can get (without using their power; I know Plague and Legion have better tracking whilst Pig has some decent map awareness due to her RBTs).
My mission here isn't to be some biased survivor main, me angry, legion op, killers need nerfs, no blink nurse 2 stronk. By writing my original comment, it was to show that adding a chase indicator would be beneficial to the game, as it would EXCLUSIVELY benefit solo survivors. Swf would get NO benefit from using it. Its the same as an indicator for which survivors are on which hook states, or who is competing a gen (tho that last one may be slightly strong, I'm just giving examples here); if other people can get this information for free, why can't those who don't play with friends without using half of their perks to do so?
The argument could be made "survivors don't need perks to win". Yeah, you're right; very co-ordinated swf don't need perks to win. Solo survivors who just want to have a bit of fun using head on, or those who are newer to the game and aren't incredibly good at predicting which teammate will do what based upon their character skin alone will want to use perks to stand a better chance at winning, or even just playing, a game they spent £15 on, not including any dlc or auric cells purchased.
So in conclusion, we do need a chase indicator, as right now the disparity between solo survivors and swf is massive. Any buffs for solos will 9 times out of 10, be a swf buff. So these 1/10 things that can be implemented to help nobody but solos SHOULD be implemented, because killers can be buffed along the way as they go to equalise these changed. Devs are against making kindred baseline, so chances are slim. Doesn't stop us requesting, and it can't stop us hoping.
Thank you all for coming to my Ted talk, I'll take questions in the back.
(Sorry for formatting issues, I'm typing this on my phone and I just got up lmfao)

Currently almost 2pm here lmao, happy Christmas everyone. Hope you all got what you wanted.

@Rin_is_my_waifu said:
Indicators for killer when? (Gen, healing etc)
Why do you need indicators for survivors working on gens or healing? You have perks to specifically show this- even if survivors just got a perk. Empathy is the best fit for seeing survivors in a chase, but even that is flawed if multiple survivors are injured or if the survivor hasn't been hit yet.
Killers have surveillance, nurses, bbq, bitter murmur. Survivors have nothing; the only way to get this info is to pray they're chasing the obsession or to play with some friends.
-
@LetsPlayTogether said:
No. There shouldnt be a indicator for anyone.
Honestly, I think there should be. If you can play with your friends and know this info without using perks, why penalise people for not having friends? It wouldn't benefit swf at all- they already know this 99% of the time.
Instead of nerfing swf, which would either punish people for playing with friends (which they don't want to do) or nerf solo even more, buff solo to swf level instead. Then, change killers accordingly.
Devs have said before they don't want to add in in-game vc like in Friday 13th or Last Year, so having other ways to get this information would be incredibly useful for the player base and just overall game balance.

You said every perk :/
Not sprint burst.
My point is that you can combo all exhaustion perks together except sprint burst, but I feel like I should elaborate.
If you want to combo exhaustion perks, often times using Head On or Dead Hard with a perk which gives you movement speed (not sprint burst) is the best plan of action, because sometimes you're in situations where you need to make a quick getaway, others is where you need to stun the killer.
So if you were trying to make a build using vigil op, then I'd honestly say:
-Balanced Landing (better than lithe imo)
-Adrenaline (it's also an exhaustion perk, so it's fair game)
-Head On (Dead Hard has half of its functionality on dedicated servers)
-Vigil (obviously).
BL is your movement speed one, let's you shoot off and make distance.
HO is there if you need to stun a killer, and because DH is broken rn.
Adrenaline because it is, imo, one of the best survivor perks in the game.
Have fun.
-
Dead Hard and Balanced Landing have some good synergy, as well as using lithe instead of one of them (example, getting asylum will let you use balanced, but shelter woods favours lithe or dh more).
Also Head On.

Lightweight is Green at tier 3, but it is possible to change the color and appearance of perks through editing game files (PC only) . I don't think this is bannable, as many people are doing it.
The devs themselves have said that they will not ban people for using customised perk icons, however if EAC picks you up on it then they won't help you recover your account. You can do it, but know the risk.

I have been trying to get the best feather perk, prestige 3ppl 3times and no purple feather. I want to run quick quite, sprint, feather, resilience, spine chill. Combo already rocks 1more sec tho, I kno it exists.
@op No Very Rare/Purple lightweight exists unfortunately. It goes up to a maximum of 3 seconds at tier 3, which is green, or rare, rarity. Maybe you were confusing it with another perk?
Also with your build, you mentioned 5 perks, Q&Q, SB, SpCh, Lightweight, and Resilience. I assume you already know this but you can only run 4.
-
They can't just disable a perk in the lower ranks and I don't think they'll nerf it.
Personally my best advice is either get very good at genjockying through ruin, or run small game (universal perk) to easily learn totem spots so you can destroy ruin early and easy.
-
I didn't at first, but got the dlc yesterday just so I can officially say P350 all perks. Can't do that without all perks and I'm too impatient to wait for the shrine. Plus it looks nice to have all characters.
Killer perks wise, I don't see myself using then much if at all. I'm already happy with my freddy build and I don't think they'll help my wraith. Maybe if I get into maining TumTums.
Survivor perks, I like Any Means Necessary and I wanna try Breakout/MOM meme builds (and also lucky break on blendette, why not).

@Doddle28 And what about all those people who have lost their legacy for all this time? they just won't get them back?
It would be good if we all had the legacy prestige, not exclusivity.
everyone who currently has it might complain, maybe a reward for their devotion? It doesn't change the balance of the game, it doesn't affect the game at all, so why not? ;)
Because the devs have said so. They made a promise to people, and they're gonna keep that promise, and if they break that promise then I'll come back and apologise but for right now I think they'd wanna keep what credibility they have. The convention skins were never promised to be exclusive- legacy *was*. That's the difference here.
If they ever find a way to know who originally had legacy and who didn't, then they'll restore it. But like you said, "it doesn't change the balance of the game, doesn't affect the game at all", so why do you want it so much?

Freddy - Never seen A Nightmare on Elm Street but he was the first killer I ever played. Post-nerf and pre-rework, joined the end of November after his release. He may have been a struggle but getting to learn him properly was amazing fun, and I even made rank 1 as him (for me quite a feat, never had the motivation to do it again). Then came his rework and it's just perfect. You can do well without addons or ruin; he's just amazing and I wish every killer was like that. He has good chase potential in snares, funny traps in pallets, map pressure with the projection, stealth with his lullaby and fading in/out of existence. Its just amazing. And the first character I got to P3 50 (was close with Claudette and David).
Wraith - 2nd killer I ever played, and even though he's weak I loved playing him (I think I just like stealth killers tbh). Not as fun as freddy, pre or post rework, but I still play him from time to time.
-
If im to remember correctly (I wasn't playing around the time, but I know people talked about it after I'd started playing), the reason why killer-unique hooks were removed was to prevent survivors form prematurely knowing who the killer is without the use of a perk. Instead they were made map specific, I believe. For example, on Lèry's the hooks are medical related, and Hawkins has the rats.
-
The dedicated servers on PC (and Switch) are temperamental at best. Sometimes they work amazingly well, others they are... Shockingly bad. I'd rather be on the p2p system rn, I'd just enjoy the time you have left.
-
David because he's an absolute beefcake, love his design, skins, the lot. 2nd chats her I ever levelled, and I find his perks really interesting and fun.
Claudette as well, because she's the first character I ever levelled. I used to love Self Care since before the healing nerf, and overall I also like her design. Also P3 blendette is always fun to play as (against eh).

Some advice for the time being about gens:
When you begin to kick a gen but you're gonna get stuck, you actually jolt forwards really quickly and you can see you're literally in the gen. Cancel the animation. You're stuck but the gen isn't regressing; now restart the animation.
You're unstuck. Have fun.
