Exaustion perks are the last perks to need any sort of buff tbh..they're really strong as they are

Oh I'm not saying lithe isn't a good perk, it is. Its just, in my opinion, and with other people I've talked to and heard from they've also agreed, that lithe is the most underwhelming of them all because, as SkeletalElite above me said, the times you're using lithe is the time you need the sprint burst the least. Hence, I'd rather give it a buff, make lithe better. Plus, if lithe is better there's one more perk to make meta, which means there's LESS sprint bursts or dead hards to deal with.

  • I actually contest that notion, I think she still is one of the worst killers in the game to face, and only because she's bugged does it make her tolerable to face, particularly if she's running stridor.

Firstly, the lack of any feedback makes my skin crawl. There's no possible mindgame a survivor can do, and the only counterplay is a literal guess. There's no way to know if she's phasing or not if you don't get the bug where her phasing sound still plays in her terror radius. "Just look at her crystals" if she's that close, you're dead anyway. Plus, they're bugged, and on some. Skins they're covered so it doesn't even matter at all.

If they have stridor, then as soon as you're hit there's nothing you can do. No "let me play around this", no "Oh ill use iron will next time", there is nothing you can do provided the spirit has half a brain cell and knows what she's doing. When I'm not using a meme build iron will is a go-to perk, and I'm honestly considering using no mither as well just to stop stridor spirit annoying me as much as it does because *there is nothing a survivor can do*.

Plus, she's not particularly hard to play. I can pick up an M1 killer and, provided I have perks, can probably get at least one kill whilst trying to play fair (there are obviously good games and bad games). Spirit isn't like that, and relies on her power. I'm awful at killers who play like this, yet somehow can get a 3k or a 4k playing as her, and honestly it's just unfair. She's easy to pick up as long as you know the basics to her kit.

Yeah, I really don't like the spirit.

  • Honestly not the best, but I agree head on is amazing.

For me the best would probably be one of David's - were gonna live forever or dead hard (maybe no mither but probably not) just because I'm obsessed with him at this point and obviously they have him on there.

  • I play for fun, without a doubt. I play for fun as survivor, and for fun as killer. I play to ensure everyone else has as much fun as I do, too, without making me an easy target to bully. After 1. 5k hours winning really loses its flair, and playing for fun is just so much more appealing.

He needs lethality with his power. I'm kind of baffled by his current state because we've already seen a 110% killer that applies Deep Wound with their power but has to play around pallets to down survivors: it was original Legion, and they were pretty much universally disliked. It just doesn't work. A 110% killer has to have a counter to loops because the objective as a killer is to actually down and hook people, not apply Deep Wound. Nobody likes Deep Wound.

To be fair the reason original legion was so disliked was because there was literally nothing you could do. Regardless of your level of skill, if a legion wanted you, you were going to die. The moonwalk exploit made it about 50x worse as well. Overall, deathslinger and old legion have very little actually in common, so I really don't see him being so disliked.

i only thought legions attack timer wouldnt start when chased, i figured borrowed time was different.

that doesnt seem all that fair.

Also when someones being unhooked, whats the best course of action? because ive tried to hit an injured guy trying to unhook, but for some reason, that hit didnt do a damn thing. its like when you unhook, you are invulnerable or something. i need to wait for the person to be unhooked before i can hit?

(Time to write a novella, bear with me).

No, legions deep wounds and borrowed times deep wounds are the same, unfortunately.

To me, the best course of action is to hit the unhooker. If they haven't managed to unhook yet, then they'll either run away (free first hit for an easy chase) or they'll trade (free hook, free pressure).

Even if they've unhooked before you got there, when faced with either the healthy or the injured, I like to chase the healthy unhooker. This is because:

-Applies more pressure (either someone is an easy down, or they spend time healing before they work on gens again)

-You avoid pesky perks like ds and bt, whilst also ensuring people have a chance to play the game.

Perks like Make Your Choice are helpful in the aforementioned situation, btw.

To the best of my knowledge and experience, survivors aren't invulnerable when unhooking, just make sure to actually hit the unhooker, not the person already on hook. If they're hook teaching and standing inside the survivor, the easy course of action here is therefore to just stand there... and wait... Either you get a hit as they trade, get a free excuse to facecamp and pressure three survivors (one on hook, on under the hook, and one running in to save only to realise you're there because someone else is).

Good luck my friend, I hope you manage to win some games :)

(Oh and remember, this is all from my personal experience and knowledge of the game, don't take it as gospel, and of course there will be exceptions).

  • @Beardedragon said:

Can someone explain to me how the ######### Borrowed time works? because according to the DBD wiki, the hooked guy who i hit during borrowed time after he was unhooked, has 20 seconds to heal up. but i chased him for 20 seconds and the timer didnt go down and suddenly the effect just wore off and he was injured. he was never put in to a dying state.

i feel cheated. Why did the timer stop?

Borrowed time. The survivor has 20 seconds to be hit, during which they are then affected with deep wounds. The timer of this does not go down while mending or while running. It's better to chase the unhooker in cases of borrower, by the way, because they might also have decisive strike in case they get tunneled straight off of hook.

    Do not buy Fentanyl.

    Thank you for the advice

  • So I’ve been here since a couple weeks after the Freddy nerf, and imo the most boring uodate would be one of two things:

-Release of the Legion. Og legion was awful, the engine was bugged to all hell (killers literally went invisible and only their red stain was visible. Very fair), and it was a very stale and boring time.

-Release of The Archives. The challenges are cool, but losing out of events like Moonrise (which was my favourite in the game by far, oh my God it was AMAZING) just sucks so badly.

  • I’ve actually had it proc, solo, in several games and escaped in them (although I admit, one of the times was because this hag said she had the upmost respect for me managing to activate it). Bring a medkit with a styptic and inner strength. Find and cleanse a totem, wait for a teammate to go down. From there, take a hit. Use the styptic, take another hit, run off to mend & then hide in the locker to heal. Next time someone goes down, take another hit, and your MOM is active!

  • Spirit. So much, unbelievably, it’s the spirit. Even with her “nerfs” she’s still broken to all hell, and the only redeeming quality is the sound bugs which lets you hear the whoosh in her terror radius to at least give you a damn INDICATION she’s phasing. If she puts on stridor you stand NO chance in a chase as soon as you get hit. I always use iron will but stridor just throws that all away; I’ve been tempted to use No Mither in the past just for that 150% reduction to counter every and any spirit I see.

I have yet to resort to that desparate measure, thankfully.

  • To the best of my knowledge, it never did. Looking at the wording across both versions (the 1.0.0 and the 2.3.0, our current one), it says "caused by injuries" so that probably means that it's only MEANT to work in the injured state too (deep wounds is just an extension of injured).

But don't worry, sound bugs mean that you probably won't have to worry, iron will is base kit for a lot of us.

  • Oh man if you think doc has a lot let me introduce you to my main man freddy.

  • Because he doesn't need one imo. He has the right amount of feedback and windows to offer the right amount of counterplay without it being easy, but the map pressure and chase potential to keep up with survivors. He's not piss-easy to learn, but also not so obnoxiously difficult you're buggered if you try to learn him. He's in the perfect spot rn, and I wish other killers would be brought up, or down, to his level (spirit, I beg).

  • Jane - Killer will stand outside a locker for 40 seconds waiting for a head on stun.

Dwight - Killed asap because rush thyself.

Claudette- The killer will always check dark corners first.

  • @Mister_Holdout said:

I agree that Billy is balanced.

But I fear a nerf is just around the corner. It will either be Billy or Freddy.

As a freddy main, I'm fine with a minor freddy nerf. He's who most of the really bad killers jumped to after spirit & nurse got nerfed, and making him harder to play is just a yes from me. Just not Billy.

(Minor nerf pls bhvr, don't make me have to play the worst killer in the game again).

  • Yeah nah this game is broken sometimes, and the matchmaking is a prime example of that. I'm looking forward to the new MMR system tbh, because even if its flawed then at least it won't be THIS abomination we have now.

Earlier today I faced three rank 1s. As a rank 10. Its ridiculous.

  • It's just the way the chain goes. If a survivor or an object blocks it then it breaks really fast.

  • @ApeOfMazor said:

Really though like what kinda connection do you people have? I see many people complaining all the time about lag and stuff yet they have terrible internet and play on wifi.

I play through ethernet, on my switch and on my laptop. I get about 30fps on both. My ping ranges wildly between 50 and 200 (usually games that say 50 range from 50 to 80 and games that say 200 go from 150 onwards; somehow the game thinks that because I live in the UK I'd love to connect to Russia's servers). While playing on the 50ms games, I still get absolutely bsed through windows, pallets, and just general hitboxes (don't get me started on huntress on these servers).

So sometimes, maybe it isnt their connection, and the servers are just awful.

  • Killer wise I'd defo give trapper a hug, he needs one. Hag too, she got kidnapped by cannibals lmao. Also Joey,, not Frank cause he's a psycho.

Survivor wise, David. Big stronk boi probably gives good hugs. I'd say Claudette needs one too, personally.

  • I'd only have one thing scaling, personally. Make it stronger, easier to understand, easier to code, and you don't get cucked because you have level 1 not level 2 (stridor).

I'd say keep the 20 seconds undedectable flat, and have the cooldown remain the 60/50/40 scale.

I like it though, it could see some interesting uses.

Or just dont use addons or offerings when grinding bp. That's what I do. Then you didnt use any items and therefore dont need to put that bp into the character you were using. Boom simple solution.

    I mean, yeah, good point.

Good luck getting BP playing anyone but Billy, freddy, or spirit without add ons tho (whole new discussion).

Back to op, honestly I wish devs would buff survivor BP gain. Its pitiful and makes grinding them up really fun, when you unlock about 3 nodes each game as survivor, and about 6 or 7 as killer.

  • @I_Face_Camp said:

Why dont you play killer for an hour and farm bp? Then use it all on your survivors.

The reason here being, at least for me, because I like to put bloodpoints back into the characters I get them from. If I play freddy for an hour, then I want to put an hours worth of bloodpoints into freddy to get my add ons back. If not, then I've just lost my entire collection of drawings and ropes, leaving me with blocks, forever freddy, or nothing.

Plus, playing killer for an hour is something you do if you're below rank 13 or if you're a masochist.

  • 1.5k hours, uses head on, Q&Q, DS (sometimes) or detectives hunch, Inner Strength. Tries to hunt totems whenever possible. Has played both sides to rank 1, and if I wanted to I could get there consistently (but who would want to). Has experience overusing noed, and it becoming a crutch perk for me. Has experience overusing dead hard, borrowed time, and (old) decisive strike, and them becoming crutch for me.

Still thinks noed is an awful perk.

Entitled survivor main enough for you yet?

  • @Frankie said:

NOED is fine and controlled by survivors.

    /thread

Again this isn't a nerf noed thread, it's how noed and the complaints about it are another example of the solo/swf power difference, and then I gave some ways to buff solos, and killers to compensate.

  • @SquirrelKnight said:

Give killers 8 perks then they can try other stuff safely

This wasn't a nerf noed post, but good try.

  • @BenZ0 said:

    @Doddle28

Well that is kinda like Lithe xD

Except Lithe is with pallets and windows, whereas this would be from a locker.

  • I'd love to see a perk similar to head on, exhaustion using lockers. Could be "Stand in a locker for 3 seconds to activate this perk. Fast vault out to move at 150% speed for 3 seconds, causes 60/50/40 seconds of exhaustion" or something.

  • Whilst the killer is carying a survivor (on their shoulder), get them to hit you. If you need 2 hits make it easy on yourself and bring a medkit & styptic agent; can take 2 hits in a row.

  • @BarneyRooster18 said:

The killers' only meta perk shouldn't be changed. Well... meta for SOME people.

Honestly? Bbq, PGTW, Enduring, are arguably meta perks for killers. They're perfectly fine.

  • As someone who lost their steam account and therefore their hound mask and untamed David jacket, I'd love that.

  • Locker time:

Head On, Quick And Quiet, Decisive Strike/Detectives Hunch, Inner Strength. Simple premise, do totems and hide in lockers for bonuses. Extra points if you manage to use Head On 4 times in the game.

    8k Altruism:

Autodidact, Solidarity, Second Wind, Empathy. Build up stacks of Autodidact as early as possible and hope for a second wind proc before your first hook. Solidarity is helpful if you're injured for a lot of the match, and empathy allows you to go round healing other people.

    Archives:

Head On (or replace if other exhaustion perk required), Decisive Strike, Borrowed Time, [Perk required for archives if not an exhaustion perk]. Just trying to do my archive challenges, have fun with head on, and make sure I stand a chance in the solo bloodbath.

I don’t know about you but I do great as a solo survivor, I have no DBD friends but people say they are weak, but you just need to get used to it, I have 300 hours as solo surv.

As someone who plays at high ranks with rank 13s and below, with almost 1.5k hours, solo survivors are by far the weakest role in the game that requires the most of amount of dedication. I can tell when I play killer if I'm facing solos or swf because of the massive disparity in their strength.

This is from my experience as EU, playing killer and survivor.,

  • Or, or, hear me out.

We buff solo survivors in ways like having a totem counter, which doesn't help swf in any way, but benefits solo survs greatly, and watch as a load of noed complaints just stop.

Then, we can even buff some killers afterwards.

  • @Lily0 said:

A totem counter is something really small but something that can also make a difference in solo q. Idk why they havent added it into the game tbh

Exactly, its such a small qol change but it'd help this game out so much.

oh 100% I only play solo since none of my friends have this game and it's crazy how many times I've been hooked and seen my teammates urban evading around the map or self-caring in a corner .

Exactly, it's stupid and honestly is awful, I hate it.

And it's always these types of players who complain noed is op.

Honestly I just wish bhvr would give solo q some love and give us things like the totem counter.

  • @AetherBytes said:

*Sees NOED discussion about it being crutch*

Just want to say again that demogorgon has actual use for it to boost his endgame to unfathomable levels, instead of a gimmick perk.

I did say that, in my opinion, it was a crutch, from my own experience of it being a crutch. To some killers they may stick it on once in a while, and then clearly its not a crutch.

But my main point here is that the noed situation is an example of a larger situation. The massive power gap between solo and swf.

  • @underlord99 said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/1098167#Comment_1098167

so your problem shouldnt be with NOED. but with randoms. at least that's what it sounds like , what with you putting all the blame on your random teammates .

    Glad we established that.

I feel like I should clarify, I'm hardly perfect. I make a ton of mistakes, and it's not like I'm gonna be play like a god all the time. Infact, I'd classify myself as a pretty below-average survivor who can chill at high purple to red ranks each season.

But like, come on, many solo survivors can agree that random teammates 9/10 are awful, especially with the matchmaking being flawed beyond belief right now.

And personally, noed to me is just one of my gripes, if you want to use it go ahead, I can't dictate the way you play. However, it is an example of a much larger issue.

  • @Carpemortum said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/1098185#Comment_1098185

    I read your novel.

And I also, speak from experience. Noed punishes me more when I'm with friends than solo.

Because as solo I make sure to run around and look for totems.

Solos are only affected more by NOED when they play like they're not solo. If you assume and expect the other 3 to "work as a team" you're going to be disappointed. I've had maybe 3 survivors from random games, that I actually commended for being helpful. Out of their way team players. The rest are usually selfish, and you have to play around that.

Clearly we have different experiences then, and I'm gonna propose we agree to disagree on this one.

About solo survivors expecting other solos to work as a team, honestly I'm fine with them not, just do long as they do something in the game. It doesn't have to be teamwork, but instead should be productive.

Like you said, they're selfish. They'll sandbag, farm, and hatch camp, won't do the objective, and so you have to instead, which like I've said leaves little to no time to search for and cleanse all 5 totems, especially considering that the killer will also be looking for you.

Overall, its a fault mostly in the totem system.

  • @AvisDeene said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/1098167#Comment_1098167

So your problem isn’t really NoEd or cleansing Hex Totems. Your problem is bad teammates. You should be asking the devs to improve matchmaking and ranking so you get paired up with players of the same skill as you, not for nerfing a Killer perk.

Go make multiple threads asking survivors to basically “git gud” as many of them like to put it.

I think you'll actually find I proposed survivor buffs instead of noed nerfs? And even a killer buff to compensate? I'm perfectly fine with noed having the counterplay of do the totems, but like you said it is the issue of teammates not doing literally anything all game.

  • @Carpemortum said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/1097513#Comment_1097513

It absolutely punishes SWF. Especially when they're doing gens super fast, and trying to be overly altruistic or trolling late game. They fall apart.

If you play solo, run detectives hunch. It lights up totems. If you dont see any, then go to the next area. It literally shows you if they exist or not.

Again, may I direct you to the part of my opening where it states that I swap out ds and detectives hunch frequently?

Whilst it might make genrushing swfs fall apart, I personally don't know anyone who plays like that and so can't comment from my own experience. And as killer since I don't run it anymore, and my experience as using it as a crutch was a solid pre-rework freddy time, I can't comment on that either.

But I speak all from experience, and even if swfs are impacted, solos suffer so much more.

  • Like i said in my opening post, I use detectives hunch frequently in place of ds. Like I said, I use maps when I can, but I only have a limited amount, and when spreading bloodpoints across both sides, I run out of them fast.

    @underlord99 said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/1097898#Comment_1097898

Also you're forgetting that you as a survivor has control over whether or not noed works. stop pumping out gens and take a minute to do bones. you even get points for it.

I've literally also addressed this. I don't have time to NOT pump out gens solo, because teammates are ass, farm off of hook, waste all resources and STILL die in 3 seconds, whilst blendette is off on the corner cowering in fear, and the obligatory rank 20 Dwight is in the basement lockers. Yet I still try and do totems to get iner strength procs.

In swf, I do gens but significantly less so, and I do totems because I know other people do gens.

Did you even READ my post, mate? The entire point of this post is that noed makes solo hell whilst swf still have easy counters, and that if solo wasn't hell because of it, then people wouldn't complain about noed? Like, come on, please take off your "I SEE A NOED COMPLAINT SO THEREFORE SURVIVOR MAIN" glasses and read, I beg of you.

EDIT: here is my proof ive said that. The large wall of text that is 80% of my post. Have fun.

You could just go through the exit gates...

I could leave, except when I can't because my teammates are slugged, gate rng ######### us, and the killer is there guarding it with noed up.

Like i said, I personally absolutely despise the perk, and I've laid out my reasons why. When I play solo it gets me because I have to jocky the majority of gens, and when I play swf I know I can rely on someone so totems actually get sorted. The perk doesn't reward vs swf, only solos. And that's my personal largest issue overall.

  • Play killers with exhaustion add ons, aka clown or huntress. That stops it.

Mindbreaker will stop it about 2% of the time.

Baiting the dead hard by just getting close works most of the time for me. A lot of people use it to dodge a hit, not to make distance in a loop.

If they use it to get into pallet City, sometimes you just need to take the loops, in two cases I can think of.

    1) Endgame, one or two left, you take the loops.

    2) If you're trying to get a 3/4 gen strat, then taking a long chase in that area early on is very beneficial because not only will you then have your 3/4 gen later, but it'll also be a dead zone.

EDIT: From re-reading your post im pretty sure you meant Head On (Jane Romero). At this point, uh.

    1) Bait. Walk backwards and forwards. Survivors panic and you'll get the hit.

    2) Take the stun. It's 3 seconds, one of which is the survivors animation getting out of the locker. It's not that difficult.

It's also situational because it required a locker.

Who am I kidding, Head On best perk.

  • I think these things are unrelated and it's most probably the storm. Mines been fine so.

    Correlation =/= Causation

  • Pre-game? Like, in the loading screen?

Nobody gets any points from this. At all. Everything remains the same except for the person who left, who loses their offering and item. Visual bug, probably

  • If i remember before it was a master, and you had to be using noed. This is just a plain 2 people.

  • No, they do not.

If you have hit the survivor during the unhook, or before the unhook, they will be asleep, and therefore afflicted with "Oblivious". This prevents any effects from the terror radius from activating, including borrowed time.

  • Honestly if they're asking to die I just let them. Its clear they're not having fun, and fun is something I try my best to prioritise in any situation, survivor or killer. Why they're not having fun I don't know, could be the killer im playing, could be a perk they think I have, could be that their teammates were hot garbage.

Plus I hate it when I pip because it means I face people who sweat out their assets. I'm just trying to have a relaxed game here, pip or no pip.

1 … 408 409 410 411 412 … 416
