Just like above I'm not inclined to give free views so here's my brief answer to it:
No. It's an exploit. No matter which way you frame it, no matter what you call it, no matter what """counterplay""" you have, it's an exploit. People are asking for the Breakdown Exploit to be fixed and be bannable, because it's an unfair exploit. J-flicking is the same.
It doesn't make you better at Blight it doesn't make you cool. It means you're willingly abusing an exploit that you know you can't get banned for.
It needs to go. As does every other exploit in the game.

I recognize that name, didn’t you go up against a streamer playing the pig on the game and you pre-dropped every pallet instead of actually looping? Lol. You were playing as nurse Lisa
That wasn't me.
I was the Claudette that died to head Pop because I got unlucky with double gear add-ons and it was in box 4.
Try again.
Edit: If you want proof I can show you my entire Cheryl cosmetics loadouts and you'll be able to see there's no Lisa in sight ^^

Survivor go out of their way to get in a chase after getting unhook and/or bodyblock the killer to make them lose time. I gave them what they wanted with my Bubba-> Tunneled to death with double chainsaw hit on BT unhook to down them.
It's not my problem if unhooked survivor get out of position again after getting unhook or the other survivor went into immersive mode once I come back after an other hook.

No offence but this is a no from me. With this perk facecamping suddenly becomes nigh-uncounterable and honestly I ain't in the mood to deal with that ever

I manage it just fine because not every dbd player is as good as this team :/
When I lose, they were better than me. I like to call myself a pretty damn good killer but I struggle to beat better teams unless I'm vibing with Spirit or Nurse or something. And if I wanna win vs those teams, sure I play dirty, but you don't have to vs every team because not every team is like this.

View Distance changes the LOD level of objects. This is usually most noticeable on older maps. The higher the value (max of 3), the further out detailed geometry is rendered.
Foliage has no current effect on gameplay, same as Shading and Animation quality. They seemingly do nothing at this time.
Post Processing enables effects, such as Ambient Occlusion, Film Grain, Chromatic Aberration, and with the upcoming mid-chapter, Motion Blur within the in-game menus (not gameplay).
Slight correction, they actually all cap out at 4. Ultra settings aren't the max you can go, so long as you manually change them, and the optimisation on them is even worse, but it can be done. It's what I like to refer to as "Ultra+".
Asides from that, all correct to the best of my knowledge.

As a fun fact you can also change your resolution (not ResolutionQuality but Resolution lower down in the .ini file) to be above 100%. Depending on how high you go it can tank your frames but it also makes the game look really good, especially with shadows at max too.

2016 was the height of Sabo Squads running around using Toolboxes and Saboteur to take down all the hooks in record time. Both got nerfed sometime that year, and although it was still possible, most people opted to focus on generators instead as sabotaging wasn't as worth it.
But yeah, Patch 3.6.0 gutted Sabotage changes altogether.
See my above comment. I was referring to Breakdown specifically.

Hooks came back in 2019, just took longer than it does now. 2016 if you sabotaged a hook it'd be gone for the match.
Again, with Breakdown specifically, 2019.

Depending on the ping implementation, it might be really strong ( if you can just tag the killer without him noticing his aura is revealed, like it was in Deathgarden), but thats what the compensation is for. A simple message system would also be more than enough. "Focus generators" and "heal me", if used by a hooked survivor, is also working as "unhook me" or "camper!!!!"
Personally though, I'm wary of all those spoonfeeding UI Info or Aura "wallhacks" that are being proposed so often. Thats not closing the solo-cwf-gap, thats just buffing survivors. CWF will always be able to use all tools the normal survivors are given too, just better.
I like that you say general mechanics instead of specific killer buffs. Imagine survivors getting ping, message or auras, and only 3 killers get some changes as compensation. It's absolutely neccessary for those compensation buffs to affect all killers, be it improvements of existing mechanics or new stuff:
- I'd like to see the obsession state debuff survivors by default ( harder skill checks, faster bloodlust, minor annoyances), afterall its the "downside" of using DS lol.
- Better regression: X% instant regression on kicks or other implementations. Gentap fix by needing to repair generators for x charges before regression is deactivated.
- Blood visibility Increased, FOV increased, bloodhound and shadowborn reworked.
- Survivors now have a flinch stun ( similiar to failed heal skillchecks) to punish them when hit during an action, which results in less hit sprint duration. (this is a chance for the art team to add fancy new animations of survivors messing up a window/pallet vault when getting hit during those. ).
- Killer specific buffs to those that would be on the lower end of a Killer tier list. Similiarily how the Solo-Cwf gap should be closed, the lower tier killers could use some buffs to lift them up. Trapper bag, Pig's crouching to be instant like GF's just for some braindead examples of mine.
Imo it's really hard to come up with "good" general killer buffs that would actually be helpful with dealing with the new "only swf level" survivors.
In terms of your last point, here's a basic list I came up with in a different thread:
@GoodBoyKaru said:
https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/2125860#Comment_2125860
not who you asked but heres a small, very basically thought of list of ideas i came up with in a different thread:
"
- Totems are now significantly better hidden and a darker colour.
- There are now 7 totems on any map.
- Totems now take 16 seconds to cleanse.
- Generators must be connected to an Exit Switch before being able to be powered on. This can be done through tapping the Repair button to grab a wire, before going to a gate and pressing the same button. Performing any actions other than slowly vaulting a window will cause the wire to drop to the ground and begin to retract to the generator at a speed of 0.25m/s.
- Generator regression has been buffed to 0.5c/s.
- Damaging a generator automatically removes 5% of it's progress. Pop Goes The Weasel's effect has been changed to add an extra 20% to this for the first generator damaged within 35/40/45 seconds of a hook.
- A hex totem is not revealed to be a dull totem until at least two survivors are afflicted with the Cursed status effect. Cleansing the relevant totem before it's revealed to be a hex totem will still cause the hex perk to be destroyed.
- Hex perks now have passive effects, active whenever the hex totem has been destroyed. These are weaker than the usual effects of the perk (ie. Hex: Ruin regresses gens at 50/75/100% regression). This passive effect is removed whenever 5 or more totems have been cleansed.
- Killers who have poorer movement capabilities (Trapper, Twins, Trickster, Slinger, Pyramid Head, Clown) now have an ability to increase their movement capabilities slightly.
- Killers who have a poorer capability in a chase (Trapper, Myers, Pig, Legion) are buffed to be better in a chase.
These are the ones that spring to mind within, like, a minute of thinking. Obviously they'd need more thinking through, and not all of them would make it into the game.
"
" Thats not closing the solo-cwf-gap, thats just buffing survivors. CWF will always be able to use all tools the normal survivors are given too, just better. "
But the thing is, they can't. If you give survivors a totem counter and a general ping system like "I'm on a totem" that doesn't buff SWFs. They won't need to use the ping system, they can just say "I'm on a totem at Shack." They won't need a totme counter, they can tell each other "Yeah I've done three totems, Turbo's done one, and I think Kakashi did one as well." Buffs like these wouldn't affect 4man SWF but would affect solos and other combinations of SWF, making survivors much more consistent and allowing buffs across the board to general killer mechanics, as well as specific ones to help them fight back.
-
1) A Nightmare on Elm Street (just after his nerfs)
2) Claudette; Claudette, Davey, Yui
3) Freddy; Pyramid Head, Wraith, Bubba

"No viable Killer"
All I'm saying is that I'd be terrified if I EVER heard the Space Kook's laugh in DBD.
https://us.v-cdn.net/6030815/uploads/LF1F8H22IDNP/spooky-space-kook.png
"And who could forget the terrifying adventures of... Space Kook. Not me."
-
I'd be fine with it but I'm just thinking, how useful would it be? Either the range descrase would be so noticable that you're better of using M1, or not that it feels pretty unfair, depending on how wide it goes. And then again, it could feel useless if it's not wide enough but OP if it's too wide.
They'd be treading a very, very, very fine line with the add-on. And knowing BHVR, they'd either make it really weak and Very Rare, or old Prayer Beads level of strength at Common
-
I don't think there'd be a Scooby-Doo chapter because there just... Isn't a viable killer. The closest we'd get is the Evil Entity from Mystery Inc. but I don't think that'd fit the game.
However, we are meant to be getting a skin set from Crypt-TV (people have told me I cannot verify this myself) so it's possible we could get licensed skins- Fred for David, Shaggy for Dwight, Daphne for Meg, Velma for Elodie, etc.
Maybe even Miner '49er for Trapper- though I'm not sure how much that'd work since his real name isn't Hank.
-
@PlunderingPanda said:
I feel like ping command would just make solo queue more like SWF.
As a survivor main, I whole-heartedly regard SWF to be terrible for the game. Honestly, if people are going to have the equivalent of 100% killer aura reading all game (because they just tell their buds where the the killer is) the game needs to be rebalanced for that. I think the game is OK for solo-Q as is (there's always room for improvement). I think that for SWF it's basically broken due to being so survivor-sided.
The entire point is that we superbuff killers, their perks, and general game mechanics like totems or generator regression to compensate for the newfound strength of survivors. Nobody just wants a solo buff, they want a solo and killer buff.
You're never getting rid of SWF, this is the next best alternative.

we're all literally telling these people stretched res and breakdown is an exploit. theyre just not listening, neither are the j-flickers.
But let's go after a killer that has said "Exploit" people call it. which only a Pc. dpi changing mouse blight / oni can do, and rarely seen in a public game,
People call it an exploit because it's an exploit. The fact it's PC only makes it even worse. It's in almost all of my games facing a Blight. Treat every exploit equally because they're all exploits.

I just saw this. It's ridiculous how no one else is even adressing it. If the developers won't simply fix the breakout exploit, I'll just have to let people bleed out more often. And when I get bored of it, I'll just play another game. Survivor queue at night is already amazingly fast, isn't it?
Actually it is for me right now in EU, 7-11 is the worst at 3 minutes but its really quick for the rest of the day

Paladins- F2P, no subscription needed
Minecraft- costs money, subscription needed
