We've known this for ages though.
Cornfield needs to be updated for sure.
-
Lmao no.
-
I play exclusively Solo Survivor and I have never run SC except for when I went for Adept Claudette.
I have never felt a need to run it. If I want to be able to heal myself I run with a Medkit/Pharmacy, or I run Inner Strength.
SC is overrated and I still haven't seen anyone explain, beyond the fact that SC is a "free survivor" perk, of how SC is better than Pharmacy. Its literally never better than taking a Medkit instead. And needing to heal yourself more than once or twice means you need to heal less because with just SC you are wasting a TON of time. Adding BK to your kit to make it faster is 2 perks that could be something else.
-
Also will you rework other maps(like larry's) since that was pretty good job. Will you add more versions of the existing ones in the future and balance pallets and gens?|
You can watch the stream at anytime on Youtube or on Twitch. They answered this there. Again.
People keep asking this question, amoungst others, and they have answered it so many times its getting annoying because there are so many other questions that need to be answered.
-
"Now it is not my intention to ridicule anyone here ... "
I only got this far and had to stop reading. Why? Because I don't read posts when someone blatantly lies like this (its ClickyClicky).
-
People in this thread acting like matchmaking is still following any sort of guide line for who gets match with who instead of accepting it is currently just a free-for-all.

Killers will get used to it, and the game will be back to being hard. I hear they're already starting to use noed more. Totem minigames is what you want right?
Lmao.
As if the game as ever really been hard for Survivors in the last year+.
-
I've noticed Gen completion notifications not popping up all the time before the patch. Its only like 1 in every 7 or so, as a rough estimate, but it is an issue.
If what you experienced is happening even semi-frequently then something needs to be done.
-
@Waffleyumboy said:
Meanwhile killers complain when survivors bring in good perks or items. Stop choosing sides and accept both sides are the same.
They complain but the "rules" around them aren't as rigid as with Killer Perks, offerings and add-ons.
There is a blatant difference between the way players, and the community as a whole, views and reacts to Survivor and Killer perks (and other things).
Survivors perks, offerings and items are complained about and deemed "toxic" but are still used and accepted to be part of the experience of the current game. While, on the other hand, Killer perks, offerings and add-ons become basically "blacklisted" by the community if they are toxic or unfun and any one who uses them is demonized.
The main fact is is that there are 4 survivors and it is extremely rare for any of them to take the Killer's "side" in the end game chat. And this extends to the forums.
-
"- Actually, Ruin was mostly complained about by both sides in amounts that are almost parallel to one another. ... " @Aura_babyy
Yes it is true it was complained about by more than just Survivor Mains. However, the notes on the changes explained why BHVR changed it. Bringing in other reasons means nothing in the context of why BHVR made the change. The change was targeted toward newer, less skilled Survivors. This is in writing and is available to read. Stating otherwise is incorrect and disingenuous.
Anyway, can you stop with this "us vs. them" crap? You may have made some decent points but none of it matters when you are doing it in a condescending, dismissive manner.
-
I have a hard time believing they were tunneling/camping you and THEN you decided to teabag and flick your flashlight.
Sure, you could be part of the small club that is okay with teabagging and flashlight flicking but ONLY if the Killer does "x" to you first, but its really hard for me to believe.
From everything I have seen and experienced in this game the tunneling/camping is a response to the Survivor doing "toxic" things first. And most all Survivors who are okay with doing these things to annoy the Killer do so unprovoked.
Again, you could be in the minority but its hard to believe.
-
Lmao.
Its insane that Killers' perks are so heavily monitored by the community. Like "THESE perks are dirty/toxic and bad for Survivors so don't use them even if it makes your goal of Killing the survivors easier because it is unfair/not the right way to play."
Very few Survivors adhere to a rigid set of rules. Most sure as hell don't care if a perk is considered "toxic" or "dirty". And while players complain about DS, one of the only "toxic" Survivor perks, no one is tell them they can't play it because it is "dirty" and the wrong way to play.
Play how ever you want, with what ever perks you want. Stop trying to push this narrative of "these perks are blacklisted if you want to play fair and correctly."
Bah.
This community.
-
Forgetting to take an offering when I mean too.
That's really it tbh.
-
Why "get good" as a survivor when you can play half-competently and get to red ranks?
Every form of reward DBD offers, Survivors get with less work than Killers.
Ranking/Pipping is easier to get as Surviors, Adept achievements are (at least) 100x easier to get with Survivors.
While Killers get more BP on average the BP changes from a few months ago started addressing this to support Survivors BP gains. They now get a $%^& ton of BP during the EGC while Killers earn less. One of the reasons to play Killer was if you wanted to make a bunch of BP, but that isn't really a reason any more.
-
@sulaiman said:
So, what you say is that ruin doesnt matter because its gone soon in the game anyway. Why needed it a change then? Can you explain?
Because it was "frustrating to play against"™.
None of the other facts matter. It was frustrating for some Survivors so BHVR changed it. Now that people are calling them out on this, and some Killers are worried about how their games will go in the future, everyone is a #babykiller because we should all just accept changes that are aimed to only improve game play for a subset of one side of the game. Even if it sets a bad precedent and/or makes the other side of the game more frustrating.

I am generally of the same viewpoint, which is why I'm altogether against the change.
But no need to tag Peanits, he's answered this exact question before and I can show you his response:
https://us.v-cdn.net/6030815/uploads/253/YIGWCT5RIZ7Z.png
Just because we didn't personally see people dodging lobbies doesn't mean it wasn't happening. In fact, I've seen a lot of people on these forums saying things to the effect of "I wish they had left it in because it let me know when to dodge".
Basically, the reasoning behind the change is lobby dodging increases queue times, and since the devs are currently making efforts to reduce queue times, allowing a feature to remaining the game which indirectly increased them would be counter-productive to that goal.
As I said, I personally don't agree with the decision since I think that even taking that into consideration, the feature was a net good, but I understand why they felt it was necessary to remove it.
I find it ridiculous that people would dodge lower rank teammates. As if doing well, making BP and even surviving as Survivor is hard or stressful for long-time players at all.
-
Matchmaking was bugged before the Christmas Break so, because they wouldn't be around to address it, BHVR made some adjustments to make it faster to find games. This, basically, made it a free for all from my experience.
They are currently working on fixes, though I'm not sure if they reversed what ever they did pre-Christmas.

"Just apply pressure" is an overused and often incorrect suggestion to make. Some killers are literally unable to apply the pressure they need to effectively stop gens without tunneling or camping. This is why Ruin was necessary, because it slowed the gens so that their pressure was possible. New ruin is literally useless to over 50% of the killers in the list because they do not have the mobility to effectively push survivors off the gens so that Ruin can be used. So telling people to "just apply pressure"? They can't. Literally, over 50% of then just can't. And then everyone will complain that they only see hillbilly and the occasional Nurse and Spirit. Once hillbilly gets nerfed prepare to see no killers since it'll be impossible to win coordinated, efficient teams.
Imagine playing someone like the Clown/Hag/Myers and people telling you to just "apply more pressure" so Survivors aren't on multiple Gens across the map.
Oh wait. They do. How do you do that? I dunno. No one does.
-
Most people who are complaining about losing its slow down potential are complaining because it, at times, gave them a little bit of a buffer in the beginning of the game to get things rolling. It gave them a little extra time to find the first survivor before the first gen popped. Now they don't feel like they have that (though Corrupt Intervention can kind of do the same thing. 🤷)
I never play with Ruin as Killer. I rarely play Killer at all. But at least I'm willing to listen to those who are upset about the loss without calling them names and dismissing their concerns.
-
Clown.
All of his cosmetics are good, except maybe one which is decent. Most of them are actually great and none of them are bad.
-
No one even said Sounds were "gone". Not from any posts I've seen. Sounds are bugged. No one is pretending. This causes sounds to be inconsistent and occasionally footsteps, grunts, moans, completed gens etc. will not be audible.
Sounds being inconsistent is a HUGE issue that needs to be addressed.
I'm on PS4 btw and notice it as Survivor and Killer.

Yea again where's ur facts? look I don't care how many of you say I'm wrong it's written on screen as one of 3 examples of griefing just cause you all are "interpretating" what the devs mean that's on you until u have facts proving what your saying then I'll shut up n apologize till then it's written in game on screen under griefing and trolling as for the achievement that says take a hit while carrying someone this can be achieved without body blocking. Ty GG #ProveMeWrongWithFacts
Okay.
---
@Peanits posted this in May in response to someone asking if body blocking the hook is reportable:
"It is not. Bodyblocking is only bannable when it is used to grief (by holding the game hostage, or by blocking teammates to get them killed). In the case of someone blocking a hook, you can hit them to force them to move."Later he posted:
"You could always drop the survivor if there's more than one in your way, although bodyblocking is not exclusive to SWF. I've taken hit for total strangers before and complete strangers have taken hits for me as well."He further further posts in response to someone posting about Killers blocking hooks:
"There's a big difference there. Survivors could not force the killer to move out of the way, but the killer can hit the survivors to force them to move."https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/498909#Comment_498909
---
@MandyTalk posted this in December in a thread about Body Blocking and that some people find it unclear and it needs to be renamed in the rules:
"I think we're in the process of going over the game rules to make them clearer for everyone - and yes this is one of the main ones that's on the list for me as it will make it clearer for everyone concerned about what is and isn't acceptable in game."https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/108631/bhvr-stop-calling-it-body-blocking/p1

Do you need more?

Yeah same.It awful when a horror game gives you more stress and anxiety when you are playing the killer. lol

Is the Gatekeeper Emblem really that messed up on PTB right now?

lol don't forget old Man Jake with his salt and pepper hair :)
I didn't, he's just not part of what I am looking for.
I mainly am looking for young female characters who look/dress like old women because we have no old lady Survivor or cosmetics, just ones that look like they are Grannies.
-
Grandma Nancy look sooo ridiculous bad I can't wait to unlock it. They were definitely going for that look at I am over the moon by how much they failed at the execution of it.
We now have Grandma Laurie and Grandma Nancy. I wonder who will be next. I want to collect them all.

Me here loving it on the other hand.
Same.
I hated what it looked like at first but once I saw it in motion I was completely on board and can't wait to unlock it.
-
Accurate post. Though @T2K adds additional points that are very important to the discussion.
At this point I just want the Devs to say something about this. But for some reason they are fine ignoring the real issue and just address less important things, like they are trying to act like the real issue doesn't exist. Which is similar to the way the notes were written.
-
BHVR is already working on MM. They basically made it Free-for-all before Christmas break and now are currently looking into fixes.
Your second proposition would split the community, something we don't really want overall. Also is it only for Survivors? And what do you mean by "privates" and it being a "private lobby"? Maybe I am just reading it incorrectly but is anyone else confused by it?
-
Yes, when I have it available. And when I play Killer. Which is basically never.

Stunned for 5 seconds and they gained nothing out of the chase that resulted in initially downing me so yeah that’s a massive waste of their time. If they slug and wait out the timer then they’re wasting time too.
If they down you and chase someone else are they really wasting time?
-
No.
Some perks are just too strong, imo, for Survivors so I don't use them. Because Survivor is already easy. I don't see why you need to stack perks like DS, Sprint Burst and the like.
-
Ok or (low)Good.
Recent events have hurt them but they usually are pretty communicative with their player base and they are doing a lot to update their game.
There are tons of bugs and issues, but overall they have been pretty decent. I just hope they don't continue with the mindset they have shown lately.
-
It was in the leaked patch noted but wasn't put into the PTB patch, so it isn't going to happen.
This means that either it was never going to happen, and the leaks were wrong, or they decided not to do it because of the negative reaction teh leak received.
I am leaning more toward the latter being more possible as the rest of the leaks were accurate and correct.
-
Issue? No.
Its just not a thing on PS4. I don't know if any console has lobby messaging.
-
Dumb teammates.
Mainly because while Killers who play "toxic" almost all rely on poor play by the Survivors and dumb teammates FEED into this.
Have you ever had that game where there is an insidious Leather Face and you are the hooked survivor but your teammate doesn't understand your signal so they pull you off the basement hook, you both immediately get chain sawed, then the other two come UEing down to save both of you and the LF gets a 4k 3 minutes into a match?
Yeah.

I guess. But I have a hard time believing Ruin would have stayed up for long in this match.

Are you saying that that wouldn't have happened if you had Ruin?

I can't loop much as a surv either.
I like to screw around too much and enjoy myself. Guess nowadays it wont matter 3 minute game and either they are dead or I'm out the door.
Yeah. And the thing is is that it doesn't even matter because I still make tons of BP and usually Pip.

... Wake Up.
Why do Quentin's Perks suck so much?
-
Trapper is fine. imo
I thought he was weak, but after doing the Archive and learning him I would argue he is solidly mid tier, with a higher-than-you'd-realize skill Ceiling.
Once you get your build down and figure out good trap placement he actually can snowball pretty hard. Then you just start to get creative, and learn ways to really throw the Survivors off with your placements and make them worry there are traps everywhere.
He looks like the standard "Beginner Friendly"-type, but he's definitely harder to use and master than most people realize as many immediately label him as the "basic" starter killer because he's free and junk. I did it myself. But I don't believe that now.
If they made it so he starts with 2 traps and can carry 2 at a time by default he would be good. Maybe even great. 🤷♂️

Get on it BHVR. I need this in my life yesterday.

It's amazing how you only think of it from the survivors point of view. Literally - the killer has killed 3 people before the gens were done...and all you're going on about is "well not it's unfair for the 1 survivor left". No, it's not. Their team lost. Their teamwork failed.
???
Your reaction to Peanits is strange.
He explained how it is currently better than it was, and that one Survivor being able to get out isn't desirable [for the Killer] it is better than the alternative of having an endless game for both because the last Survivor never wanted to risk anything once Hatch closed when the EGC wasn't a thing which is an issue both sides had to deal with. This isn't even mentioning Hatch stand offs.
He never said it was unfair for Survivors.
-
Corrupt is better than current live Ruin. The only reason you should be running current live Ruin over Corrupt is if you don't have it.
The Trapper is losing nothing with the Ruin change.
-
Clown.
-
Meh. Keys are fine. If there are 3 Survivors alive when the hatch appears AND they have a Key then they earned it.
Take Franklin's if you have a hard time taking down the Key Wielder. Or take a Mori.
I dunno.
-
You can't say these things and then say you aren't Killer sided. You are, its not even a little questionable.
-
This statement will always be true for DBD:
The more things change, the more they stay the same.
