Probably just included their more popular chapters to make a bigger profit.
Is Curtain Call one of the most popular? I find this hard to believe.
Hag and Doctor are bundled with the base game on Console so I just assume them in the Steam Bundle to match.

"and its just miserable."
We were talking about the Nurse, not the game silly. I see how you could confuse the 2 though, both are doing pretty bad rn.
Poor Nurse. 😥

Wait they actually created a theme for the game and it's locked behind a paywall? Lame.
It's probably garbage anyways. Just slap on a jpg background, animate it so the camera pans left to right, then loop 30 seconds of their most annoying song and call it a day. That's how 90% of themes end up anyways.
PS4 needs some DBD avatars as well.
Oh wow, that is more effort than I was thinking. I was thinking it would just be a static image of PH from DBD with a black (or black+red) background and the title somewhere. It'd just be nice to have a Silent Hill Theme for fans who want the ability to select it, even if it is lazy/bad.
I agree, we need DBD Avatars.

No...
You may play a new killer, but you retain your knowledge of the game and it's mechanics
Knowledge of the maps only gets you so far. Learning a new power and abilities while using trash for perks (and usually less than 4 perks) is not a fun time for most players.
Its one of the reasons why Nurse doesn't have many players. No one wants to try to learn her out of low ranks due to her high skill floor. You'll never actually learn anything and its just miserable.

Yea. Its questionable for sure. I'm hoping they'll release it separately in the future. If they are allowed.

PS4 theme is locked behind the massive bundle too. Can't get the theme unless I shell out $66 when I already own most of what's in the bundle. Its super weird.

Are you sure? Because for me, I’m only able to unlock PH by buying with with auric cells.. I tried searching for the DLC in the store but I couldn’t find it
I'm definitely sure. I looked up "Dead by Daylight" in the PS4 Store, selected the "base" game, scrolled to add-ons and it was there beside the new bundle.
I live in Canada so I'm not sure if that makes a difference.
-
The "nerf" to Blood Pact just makes sense. It was, and would be, completely busted if you could tap heal for haste (for both players) every 8 seconds with no cool down.

Already is out. I bought it over an hour ago.

Well, that obviously will be exploited by experienced survivors if it wasn't changed.
Exploited? Never. 🤭
"Its a feature of the perk. Its intended and is totally balanced."
-
LMAO. Tell me how tapping someone for haste was balanced.
It makes more sense for you to actually have to work for it.
also, you are wrong, the haste will help you get back to gens if you heal someone away from one.

If they can tell the story of the person falling into the category of LGTBQ in such a way that's decent and not "Oh bt-dubs, this character is gay." Have it be more subtle tones then that and I feel like it's fine.
The problem is I've never seen the point of it. What benefit does it truly include? It's the same as all those posts we've had here of, "Hey make Nea a lesbian so my fanfic is real" or "make David gay so it really feels like I AM him." Might just be me but why does it matter?
Them stating that the characters are w/e and they aren't going to define them was fine, but when their own stories define certain characters as straight then some people would like a bit more spice. They would like to know if characters who are undefined, are in fact actually defined by the developers. They said they weren't, and that we can choose to believe what they want, while the whole time they all were defined as straight/cis. Players just want more from their characters, and asking for different characters to be different shouldn't be seen as asking for much of anything.
But I agree. It would be nice if the stories don't revolve around and have a heavy focus on their sexuality. Because, if we've learned anything about Jane's story, they don't know how to write stories with a focus on one's minority status.

I think you're missing the point I'm trying to make. Let's take Feng and Yui as examples. Do you not think that a person who identifies closely to one could also identify with the other? They're ethnically similar and not that far apart to the extent where other regions are completely non-existent.
You've got Tapp and Adam, again, same question? Is it too much to imagine that anyone who identifies with one couldn't identify with another?
And now consider this at the same time as asking, what possible survivor could someone from a Mid-Eastern background identify with? There's well over 20 characters, and not a single one that comes close here. And yes, I get that some come from licences so are fixed in their nature to a degree, but that doesn't mean that non-licenced characters need to duplicate them.
If we're talking about representation of players, I would argue that making a more ethnically diverse cast would cover a lot more representation and do much more in this regard, rather than forcing in some LGBT backstory which has absolutely zero effect on any aspect of the gameplay itself and appears to only exist as a token gesture.
Sorry but did you just saw that Feng and Yui are basically the same character because they are both ASIAN?! Are you kidding me?! They are completely different characters. Adam and Tapp are also completely different. The fact that you think race "blanket terms" (not really sure what to call it) is more important, and defining, of a person/character than their actual story/experiences/personality says a lot about you. Race is important to people, yes, but it doesn't mean they can only identify with someone of their own race.
We have a character from Lebanon. But I won't tell anyone so you can continue acting like you have a point. 🤫

Eh, they just made a statement and that's it. We haven't really seen how it's gonna be implemented, so I don't know why it became such a big deal here in the forum.
Although to answer the OP, I try not to put too much emphasis on intention. Say, if a company donates to a charity, does it really matter why they're doing it? Better to help unwillingly than to willingly not help.
But again, BHVR really hasn't done anything yet.
It became a "big deal" because BHVR stated over and over again that the characters are whatever you want them to be and they didn't write them with any sexuality or identity in mind. Then they went against this, and have made a statement acknowledging that they have being writing the characters as straight the whole time. Which is kind of a big deal to some of us, because we were basically lied to just so they wouldn't have to "deal" with it or take a stance on anything. But if anyone was surprised by "they are whatever you want them to be" as "they are written heterosexual" then I dunno what to say.
It makes sense, because the basic/norm is heterosexual(and cis) that's why so many people ask if any characters are gay or trans or what have you. No one asks if any of them are straight because we all assume if it is not stated otherwise, even when being stated as "a blank slate", that they are straight. Its just how our society is and BHVR tried to take the easy way out but have finally admitted that they just weren't trying, so for some people that's a big deal and looks like damage control. lol
I'm not even upset about any of this, I saw it coming. So it'll be good if they try to change it up but I dunno. If I don't get my "David is gay" and "Kate + Jeff is totally real guyz" I'm going to riot. I NEED my ships and headcanon to be real. ngl

They literally mentioned matchmaking, and addressing it, in the 4th Anniversary Video.
So, your point is... ???
-
The only time you should hide in a locker against huntress is when:
- You have DS
- She is going for hatchets
This way, if played correctly, you stop her from getting hatchets and stun her. Otherwise why would you EVER hide in a locker against the Huntress?
Also Iron Maiden is still bad outside of the speed it gives her. Her hatchets don't instadown you so you shouldn't even have any issues.

Lol yeah but how many play it that are not 18 a lot of them, even ones that aren't teens, i think there is more skin in this game then gore! lol
Its an 18+ game. Just because there are players who are under that age doesn't mean that, all of a sudden, it isn't an 18+ game and now needs to adhere to the rules of a lower rating.

I didn't know Biker Kate:
- Fit her personality and/or Lore
- Was more revealing than her base outfit
🤔

There have been sound bugs in the game for months. Many of us were talking about them before Christmas. They are still in the game. Killer Audio gets messed up all the time and I feel like they've just given up on fixing it since it'll just break again after the next patch.

If it is rampant for you it is probably not them. Do you just think they all have horrible personalities and you have done nothing to draw this wrath your direction? I will say that I do not play killer late at night, generally I get my killer dailies and rift stuff done during the day because that is when I have time. But I also don't camp, tunnel and slug which I assume helps me not have to deal with death threats.
LMAO are you kidding?
There is nothing anyone can do in this game that gives anyone else the right to verbally assault them and put them down. It doesn't matter how "scummy" they play or how much they "troll", its a game and it doesn't matter how upset or frustrated it makes you it doesn't give you the right to fire off insults and threats.
-
Kate.
I'm not even 100% certain why tbh. Before I played DBD I was looking at Survivors and I gravitated toward her immediately.
I started just before Spirit release.
Her cosmetics have just solidified her as my fave. Her Christmas Sweater and Rock Climbing outfits are great and then they released the single best Survivor cosmetic in the entire game with her Biker look.
-
If that's all it is it isn't enough.
-
You really shouldn't need to heal with Inner Strength more than once per match, and if you do things are already going poorly.
Also, you say "But there is some additional time to travel and find a totem or locker." but ignore that you have to spend time looking for a safe place to self care. Also, you can save the totem cleanse if you don't need it immediately and have someone else heal you quickly.
If you can spend 3+ times a match self caring I think you can spend they 16 seconds letting someone else heal you.

wow, again survivors get nerfed. killers are still strong. why reduce great skill check bonus time for example???? it wasn't easy to hit them at all, but at least it helped winning the game, now it's just for useless bloodpoints. and reducing size of maps? come on, you want every killer to get 4k every round. all i read is survivor nerf there, survivor nerf that.... can the devs please chill with all the survivor nerfs and maybe fix the 3 meters windows hit boxes first? or the hits getting through after a pallet is dropped?
Great Skill Checks are hard to hit if you don't have time into the game. Eventually they are basically the only thing you hit.

If it wasn't for these people using it to indicate that the Killer isn't near it would be more widely understood to mean that there is danger and would prevent a lot more bad saves.

You make sound everything impressive lol. M1 takes a lot of ability, you have to know the range of your hit, and calculate which side is the one the survivor is, and control the fact that if you lounge you might miss, see? sounds complex doesn't it?
I mained Spirit and Freddy, it basically boils down to chase through sounds and spamming snares and that takes no skill. it's 100% more respectable knowing how to mindgame hiding your red stain and faking pallet kicking, but hey, if holding m2 and letting the killer win the game for you makes you happy, i'm glad for you. Just don't call it skill.

Probably nothing. Not much happened last year. There were some really sharp "tar like" skins they had for the killers, but didn't actually release them. Maybe strap some balloons on some gens and call it a day.

I am not a survivor main but I have been known to comment on a game I've played as a survivor being boring in post game chat.
This is usually because:
Hardcore camping
Hardcore tunnelling
There are other things I find boring it play against but I'm unlikely I'm comment in the post game chat about it - These being:
Freddy with Pop, BBQ, Thana, Dying light, swing chains. Just multiple slowdown perks/addons stacked up on top of one another.
Hillbilly - Ones who just stand behind you with the instasaw. Nothing can be done. I'm down. Ones who are bending round corners etc I am fine with. You've taken the time to be really good.
Huntress - Iridescent head. The most BS add on in the game.
Its funny.
I made a thread a while back asking the forums who they thought people were going to go after after the Spirit and Nurse nerfs.
I proposed that it would be the Huntress. Because people find her hatchets annoying, especially Iridescent Heads, but I also stated that I think she is 100% the most fair and balanced killer in the game and doesn't need any nerfs or buffs.
Fast forward and she is one of the most complained about killers today. Some one makes a thread about Iridescent head at least once every day.
It makes one wonder if she actually needs changes or if people are just latching onto another bandwagon. 🤔

@Blister987 said:
When a killer takes no skill to use and takes no skill to counter, like Clown, Spirit and Freddy. In two cases you have to camp pallets, in another, you have to guess every action, no skill on both sides.
I disagree 100% The Clown takes a LOT of skill to play. Knowing if it's a optimal time to throw a bottle, to know if it's a good time to refill your bottles, to know the trajectory arch of the bottle and to know if it'll even be worth it because the cool down from refilling the bottles is a punishment for failure. The bottles have huge limitations. They don't keep you from vaulting, they don't keep you from throwing pallets. They don't show your aura. They do screw up your vision, but only for a few seconds, and to top that off when he does throw the bottle he's stricken with a slow down for a second.
The Spirit you have to be a mind reader to know where people are going to go. So you have to really read the survivors. And Freddy to you have you spread out your pressure on 5 gens equally. It actually takes a shocking amount of skill to use an master these killers. I must say it's insulting to the people who take their time to really learn these killers.
In contrast every survivor plays the same. The only differences are the perks, but we all know all/most survivors are running DS, Spine Chill,Sprint Burst, Borrowed Time, Adrenaline, Dead Hard and Self Care.

Well, if you nerf BL, which was an alternative to Dead Hard, surely they will go for Dead Hard.
But I guess Dead Hard should first function correctly before thinking about changing it. Because "Press E to be exhausted on the ground" is not that strong of an effect.
^This^
Also, Dead Hard really isn't that strong if you know how to bait it out and anticipate it. Treat it like DS, everyone has it until proven otherwise.
-
He may have been saying "thank you".
Many Survivors T-Bag to say thanks. I don't, but many do, since our range of actions are limited. This wouldn't be the first time a "thanks" was taken negatively in this game.
-
"Many Killers [feel they need to] Camp and/or Tunnel [to have a decent game]. The game is Killer sided!" lmao
While I do not agree with heavy Tunneling, and think Camping is a terribly weak and pointless strat, your post makes literally no sense if it is serious.

@BlueFirebilly said:
Wooo only one killer perk 😑, when there is more useless killer perks
There are many bad Killer Perks, true, but there are more "useless" Survivor perks than Killer Perks.
There is a strong ~7perk meta many Survivors push. Sure, you can basically use what ever you want but if you want to play optimally there is no reason to use 90% of the perks they have. Killers on the other hand have many less "OP" perks, and have different playstyles, so they have more to choose from overall and since they have so few straight up useless perks they have more variety.
The main issue really though is that Survivors are always going to use the best. if BHVR buffs/changes Survivor perks but they aren't as strong, or stronger, than current Meta perks they will just continue gathering dust.

@Aven_Fallen said:

This goes both ways around. Killers can also mess up multiple times and still win. And a match can be lost for the Survivors if one of them makes a really stupid move.
But I know that is nothing people on this forum want to hear.
True.
In low skill matches more so than high skill matches.
Since the Killer is 1 player their mistakes have a larger impact on their success of completing their objective when compared to the impact 1 of 4 Survivors has on the success of completing their objective when they make mistakes. This is why playing Survivor is so much more chill, and enjoyable, than playing Killer for many people. Myself included.

@deadbyhitbox said:
Crazy. It's almost like if you don't actually get any sort of pressure on the opposing side for 2 minutes they'll do what they're supposed to do. The Demo's mistake that cost him the game was ditching a chase that was easily winnable. Instead of actually chasing around a weak loop, he decided to break it and because he broke it on the wrong side, allowed you to get to the God house. Had he of gotten that down and not made such a bad error, he would have had a hook, which would have made it so 2-3 people weren't working on gens. This alone could have bought him upwards of an extra 2+ minutes.
But that in its self is a key issue. Survivors can make many mistakes and the match goes on. The killer can make one mistake and GG they lost the match.
-
@danielmaster87 said:
They're so fast to open, it's crazy! Like why even have them at all? A big problem is the hatch, because if someone opened it using a key or there's just one survivor left, closing it automatically powers the gates. That's just stupid. Even when there's one survivor left, if they have their hand on the handle as soon as the gates are powered, it's basically a 50/50 to get to them in time. If the gates aren't super close, or you just guess the wrong one to go to first, they escape for free. The gates probably take like 30 seconds, but it feels like 10. Remember Me should be the base time it takes to open the doors, and that way Remember Me would boost gate opening times even longer, that way it might actually see play above rank 18. Also, 99ing the gates is stupid. It's just like hitting a survivor off a gen and then they complete it half a second later because your cool down is too long. Make the survivors go through the full animation of pulling down the lever instead of .3 seconds of the animation and boom, the gate's open. With these changes, it will actually feel like the game isn't over the moment the last gen is done. Survivors will actually still be in danger if they beeline for the gates.
I tend to agree. I think that the gates should start to degrade, so it keeps them from being 99%ed as soon as the survivor takes their hand off the handle. Maybe a regression just like gens being kicked.
