Nonsense of any changes for gamebalance
At first I see how much work and time the devs invest for the game and they try to find the best balance for survivor and killer.
It seems they can do what they want, the player will always cry for nerfs and buffs and changes because they think there are balance issues. So the devs nerf ruin, items, perks, genspeed and than mapsizes and loops.
But in my opinion the devs waste with a lot of these changes only time, manpower and money, cause they don’t realize the real problem:
THE MATCHMAKING!!
Sure killer crying about genspeed or loops, cause a green rank killer has to go against purple or red rank survivor all the time. If both sides had the same playlevel (call it rank, skill or how you like) the game will be instant more balanced and more fun for all! It’s important to have good and bad matches for a exciting game.
What the devs expect to see in their stats if good player compete against lower ranks? You can watch a lot of stream for example which are mostly highrank killer and they insist against good survivor.
Please devs, stop with all these useless changes until the matchmaking is fair!
What you guys think about that?
Comments
The devs definitely realise that matchmaking is a problem - that's why they're overhauling the system next month.
They literally mentioned matchmaking, and addressing it, in the 4th Anniversary Video.
So, your point is... ???
My point is that they made a lot of changes in the past based on their stats and all the crying player during this broken matchmaking.
If they have finally fixt this matchmaking (I hope they will make it) than the nerfed side of survivor will start crying...
The actually matchmaking ( for example rank 13 killer against red rank survivor) gives the devs some unrealistic/crazy stats and playerfeedbacks which are the base for all changes.
Imagine a football star plays against a highschool quarterback, to make it fair the star get a handicap. But now (when matchmaking is fixt) the star come back to the superbowl and has still his handicap...
You know what I mean?
Matchmaking is allegedly getting overhauled soon. Given how long it has taken to implement this system, I do hope it is indicative of the effort gone into creating a thorough and complex system, and not the amount of effort that was sunk into bug fixes.
The devs are very aware of how matchmaking skews statistics, and I'm certain they take that into account when using those stats to inform balance changes. They do have a team of professional statisticians and data analysts processing that stuff, after all.
Also, the changes to matchmaking were announced months ago, and the only "crying" I've seen in that time is from people concerned that the new system won't work, not that any advantages they might have will be taken away.
