From what I've read, the devs think Legion is in a good place and have no changes planned despite the complaints.
I really think a few simple number changes would make Legion way more fun to play (Reduce the stun plz)!
-
I really dislike the new color scheme. Everything sort of blends together imo. I prefer black over these murky grays.
-
A 4k should be a guaranteed pip. I don't get why that's not the case.
-
You realize those players that suicided on hook would have DC'd if not for the penalty, yeah?
Players who want to leave the game will still leave the game.
At least the threat of a penalty lets Killers get their BBQ stacks ffs.

I did not understand the "removed discipline and put back the scrapped tape", could someone explain (just to confirm)
The "Obedience" add-ons have been removed entirely. Scrapped Tape (which was previously deleted) is now back to take their place.

I’m in love with the sound of all the changes.
Only odd one is the reintroduction of Scrapped Tape just for the sake of fulfilling an add on space in Docs inventory.
I hope they change it from a ring.
Agreed, kinda weird to bring back Scrapped Tape. It was never very good compared to the cone or beam.

I still see the same amount of toxicity as usual. Could be you're noticing it more because you can't just DC when something you don't like happens.
-
Some of their excuses are so extreme! Like people bringing up when they had a death in the family and had to DC... like dude, why do you even care about a penalty in that situation?
I've been enjoying the stories though. It's good material to laugh at while having my morning coffee.

What's the difference? to make the killer waste a few seconds, hit me twice, pick me up and put me on a hook? Also, that was an example, maybe I have to leave and turn off my PC or something. You know there's life outside this video game, right? The problem is when you're an ######### that DCs because you missed your DS or because the killer downed you first, that's the problem, when you DC because something happened INGAME.
What if I'm bugged and I can't move and I hold the game hostage because the killer can't even hit me?
What if the killer is bugged and can't move? Should I wait 15 minutes until he finally decides to DC?
What if a survivor or the killer is hacking or taking the game hostage somehow? Dedicated servers have NOT enterely remove hackers.
What if the killer wants to farm? I HATE FARMING, I DC immediately when the killer starts hitting a gen, I don't need BPs, I play this game to have fun and farming is boring, I'm not wasting 10 minutes of my life farming.
As you can see, there are a lot of good excuses to DC and going AFK is not always the solution. And even so, going AFK doesn not solve anything either.
Uh yeah, that is the difference. Let the killer kill you and get their points and stacks.
If you have an emergency, go AFK. For any other reason, maybe don't queue up if you're not gonna commit to playing the entire match. Yeah there's life outside a video game. So take your 5 minute penalty and go live life lol
I'm glad the penalties will be punishing people who behave this way.

OH and one more thing!
because of this d/c "ïssue" you get in a game and you see a player running around and trolling your game!? THAT WILL BE ME :)
i will not d/c but trust me i will make your games much more interesting.
you're welcome
Lol did you make an account just to be toxic? Thanks for adding to the discussion.

I have to disagree. Skillchecks are boring. I wish the objectives themselves were not as boring as holding M1 for 1:20 minutes and occasionally pressing the spacebar.
Maybe if you have to solve minigames (like connecting some electric circuits or something) it will be fun to do gens.
Welp, skill checks are here to stay man, they're a huge part of Survivor like it or not. They haven't changed how gens are done in 4 years, I doubt it will happen now, but it would be nice.

Love all the people straining to come up with reasons why they should be able to DC, without explaining why their life is so hectic that they can't find a ten-minute period in a day where they won't have a sudden emergency.
Please, if you're dealing with your boss requiring you to remote in for a life-saving burrito emergency sixteen times a day, find a game that doesn't ruin the experience of four other people when you leave. And also, please take care of yourself. I'm worried about you.
Dude seriously, these people are reaching so hard for reasons lmao. It's actually hilarious to read.

Maybe I had to go to the bathroom because of a "burrito emergency".
I'm not gonna ######### my pants just because of an online video game match.
Go AFK then. Problem solved.

Most of the time it's kind of boring and there is no thrill. Unless the killer is some hillbilly downing people instantly or a good nurse, or my team is a bag of potatoes, I feel like games are just routine. Against wraiths, bubbas, michaels, GFs, pigs... Half of the time against those killers he does like 5-6 hooks and we all escape. Or maybe 1 guy dies being camped when the doors are opened. Of course I die too, mainly rescuing when the doors are opened (I use BT and I rather rescue and die than escape like a coward), but even if I die, the killer lost.
Anyone else feels this way about the game? or do you feel that survivor gameplay is really challenging?
Also, what would you do to improve it?
I feel that Survivor is pretty dull nowadays, mostly because skill checks have no challenge anymore. I actually like playing against Doctor because he has some interaction with skill checks. I mean skill checks are a huge portion of the game on Survivor side, so Hex skill checks being gone has removed both challenge and skill expression.

I hate this logic. There are reasons for DC'ing. Now if the punishment is low as they say, it wont matter.
- Someone I know just died
- My boss calls me and needs to to fix something remotely ASAP (I work in IT, this happens a lot)
Now don't get me wrong, those are both extreme factors, that don't occur often enough during game play for them to matter. But they are reasons.
But by far the reason I DC the most often is because two other people DC'ed.
If I am playing killer and two people DC before 1-2 gens are even done, I often DC. I have yet to find a survivor that enjoys playing 2v1 with 4-5 gens left. As a survivor, I feel the same way, if two people DC, I will run to the killer and try to let them hook me and kill myself on hook. However if they want to farm or just slug me. I DC.
Lol dude those cases are so extreme. And even if they did happen, just go AFK maybe? Why do you have to DC?
And other people will be punished for DCing now, so you should see less DCs overall. Meaning your main reason for DCing is being addressed with these penalties.
-
@katerbater said:
There are plenty of reasons why DCing is legitimate and shouldn't be penalized. Sorry I shouldn't be penalized for someone ruining the fun of the game.
"Someone ruining the fun of the game" is too subjective. What if I think a certain killer with certain add-ons or perks is unfun? Is it OK for me to DC? No. And I guarantee the penalties will be punishing this type of player, as they should be.
-
@twistedmonkey said:
Personally I think there should be an option when pressing escape so you can ask the game to check for these circumstances. The system should be able to see inputs happening from the user side and not working within the game.
It should then give you an option to leave free of punishments and thank you for the bug report.
That would be amazing and ideal, but I think we're dreaming asking for that to happen in the near future, if it's even possible at all.
-
@Saitamfed said:
Well... I don't DC but it's not enjoyable when a killer leaves me in the ground. I mean, yes in four minutes I will be dead but I want to move on to another match.
True but those games are in the minority. Most Killers will hook you for the points unless they actually can't find you. It sucks, but I just grab a snack or hit the bathroom while I bleed out.

Legion had a complete rework of add ons. Should definitely be on top list. Really this thread is pure speculation. Most of the killers listed on "Killers that definitely will be receiving add-on passes or reworks" I haven't seen any confirmation on. I feel pretty confident that Hillbilly and Leatherface will at some point. A lot of the add ons are really bad and there is a distinct lack of iridescent add ons. I think I saw something about Leatherface being looked at in the nearish future. But I haven't seen anything at all about Huntress or Myers. If I missed something then I'd appreciate links.
Nah you're right. The lists are wrong and they're just speculating haha.

Survivors can kill themselves on hooks all they want. Killer gets a BBQ stack. That's a win in my book.

The incremental penalties will decay naturally over time, starting after the most recent matchmaking ban has completed.
I included a excerpt from their news post to discuss my issue with this. My game crashes once to twice in a 2-3 Day period. If I am playing a lot on Saturday or Sunday, I tend to get 1-2 crashes a day.
So my question is, what amount of time has to pass naturally for my penalty to decrease? Is it 24 hours? Than yeah, I'll eat the 5 minutes every now and then. Is it 72 hours? Then no, because more than likely not enough time will have passed for me to have my penalty decreased.
It was 24 hours the last time they tested DC penalties. Sorry you have so many crashes, I play often and get one maybe once a week or so.
-
@goat10em said:
you have 2 options, DC and eat the penalty or go get a snack or take a poop while you're stuck there. It sucks but the salt in this game has gotten so bad that this penalty is more than needed.
Seriously, DCing is so rampant that penalties are necessary. If I get bugged or crash, I bite the bullet for 5 minutes and suck it up for the greater good.
-
Legion has had both a "rework" and tweaks to add-ons, and Spirit had an add-on pass recently so they should be in the first list :p Still hoping for more Legion changes though.
-
@InsideOut said:
DC Penalties just mean new ways of obtaining an exit out of the game. Don't fool yourself into thinking that all games will be normal now.
Hook Deaths will rise, and survivors will still get hosed by people losing the drive to play the round.
Unfortunately you cannot force people to give a darn and play hard. People will just throw their hands up and go get a snack or drink from the kitchen.
You are right, but at least now the Killer will get their BBQ stacks, and Survivors are better off because the Killer has to take the time to hook them and have them suicide. It's not perfect, but it's better than nothing.

It scales. first one is like a few seconds, next is around a minute or less, after that it goes up to several minutes and than rapidly escalates into like 15-30 min, hours, etc....
So if you get like 2 or 3 crashes in a session, and I have very much had that happen before, (I will be honest it is rare for me to have that many, but it DOES happen) then I get locked out for like an hour or so how is that fair? I did nothing wrong.
Like you said, the first few are very short. So even if you crash a 3rd time, the penalty is like 10 minutes.
The point is DCs are WAY more common than crashes. Penalties need to exist.

it happens way too often is not a small price to pay waiting 1 hour to play or more. penalties cant be applied till the game is for real fixed.
You're exaggerating about 1 hour. The initial penalties are very short (1 minute for first DC). If you crash, the penalty is already up by the time you reboot the game.
And besides, players disconnect and ruin the game way more often than crashes happen.

@EvilJoshy said:
I'll believe it when I see it. Which I won't. You don't exactly see a dc'er get punished so you never know if it's working.
It certainly worked last time. You could always try DCing yourself if you don't believe it works.
-
@Hoodied said:
Yeah, now the game crashing will be great as thats considered a DC
A small price to pay honestly. The first penalties are very short so if a crash happens, it's really not a big deal.
-
It can't be long before you cover every perk in the game with a post just like this lol. Are you keeping track? I'm curious what number you're on.
And no, I don't use Leader because it doesn't affect myself and the % speed boost is too low anyway.
-
Agreed, and add Huntress to that list. Dead Hard is a free blink/hatchet dodge every time. If all 4 players have it and you get a big map, you're gonna have a bad time every time :")

There is no way to turn down the chase music manually. This is mostly because of balance reasons, but I can understand why its hindering
Right, but could we have it lowered just a notch? It can be quite overbearing, especially since Survivors seem to be much quieter in recent patches.
-
I found the same. Around 6 a.m. or so (U.S.) Survivor queues get drastically faster and Killer queues suffer. Then around 4 or 5 p.m. they switch back.

Oh wow, I specifically remember going against you yesterday. We were all rank 1 and when I saw you were 14 I felt so bad :(
It's not fun for anyone when the matchmaking is that far off the mark.

The wiki has the exact numbers if you're interested but I agree, it'd be nice to see them in game. I wouldn't even mind a percentage on gens while working on it so that when you tell someone you have an exact percent. It's also be fun or at least different to watch the number climb while working on the gens.
The Wiki is missing a ton of numbers FYI. Barely anything on there has an exact %

Borrowed gives your teammates extra chances to avoid getting hooked. If you want to escape, you want your teammates to live as long as possible just to stall the killer if nothing else
Did you even read my post? In my solo queue experience, survivors rush hook saves all the time. It doesn't matter if I have Borrowed if my teammates are always getting the unhook before I can.
-
Call me selfish, but I don't run Borrowed very often as Solo because my teammates are usually rushing the hook saves before I can even get there. That goes for all perks that rely on an unhook.

Spirit is better then billy
Sure, in ideal conditions. But with sounds being as they are, Hillbilly is better imo.
-
Nurse, but her skill floor is too inaccessible for many players.
Therefore, I'd say Hillbilly is the best overall currently. He requires very little risk or effort for a high reward.
-
Yes it is. Honestly you should learn every killer if possible.
-
Marijuana. Take bong rips while on hook waiting to be saved :D
-
I miss the queue time indicator! Would love to see it brought back.
-
I wrote on my survey that they should stop releasing new perks for awhile and update existing ones instead.
New DLC is what makes the money though, so... fat chance of that happening.

A very unreliable insta-down...
Agreed but Clown's bottles are not exactly reliable either. My favorite is when I try to throw a bottle and it explodes in my hand.
Clown can slow Survivors but only after slowing himself. Obviously I'm over simplifying, and if you think LF is truly worse, I don't think you're wrong. Truth is, they're both bottom-of-the-barrel killers and that's all that matters!
-
Clown is worse unless using the insta-down add-on imo. Bubba is better because he has a built-in insta-down.
-
I swear I'll never get tired of that phrase. It becomes more ironic every day.
-
Have you seen the Dev Q&A? They recommend allowing the furthest gens to be completed so you have to defend a smaller area.
Basically do a 3-gen strat or git gud.
-
Maps are best in SWF combined with a key. One guy can track the hatch and the other one can open it.
-
I don't feel like Oni is that strong. He literally has no power at the start of the game. Sure, his demon form is powerful, but that's because it only lasts a short while.
I'd rather face Oni than Billy tbh.
-
The challenges bring out the worst in the playerbase. People throw games just to do their mission or DC/Sandbag to deny other players their own challenges. The least they could do is remove "single trail" missions.
And this system is here to stay! No changes were made from all the feedback given on Tome 1. So this is DBD now. Buncha people sweating for ridiculous challenges and ruining the experience for each other.
You can avoid all of this by playing 4-man SWF. But for us solo players, it's just not fun.
