Abandon chase, not much else to do about it unfortunately.
I really, really wish though devs changed killers' collision size to be the same as a survivors'. BUT. Think about this: it would also make bodyblocking impossible or at least much harder. Corners, basement, vaults: we'd lose an important tool.
-
It's a perfectly valid (and fun) strategy to let your sorry loser survivor fellows busy themselves repairing gens and distracting the killer, then let them die, then slip out through the hatch.
As they say: a smart man carries the burden fate placed on his shoulders. A wise man makes others carry it for him.

According to my studies of dead Mesopotamian languages, her mori speech translates to this:
"Gg ez noob get rekt"
-
@Hoodedfengm1n hm ok, though it also makes me a bit suspicious. I usually try not to get my hopes up about sequels.
-
Great news! Can't wait to get kicked off a game because some aggressive Russian teenager thinks my skills are not up to his standards :)
Jk of course: aside from a bunch of ######### players (more than in DBD), L4D2 was a great game.
-
Still an awesome perk on Legion. Just have to injure 3-4 of them by the time your Ruin is gone.
-
In a recent game, I literally couldn't bring myself to put her on her third hook, and went out of my way to hunt down the other remaining survivor, even though that on was as immersed as one can possibly be. Her ass is obscenely big, yet somehow so attractive.
If Kate wasn't there, Jane would definitely be the hottest survivor.

But you want to exclude Ednruing from that. If a killer hates DS, he can't do anything about it.
@Wolf74 not at any cost. Whether it's gonna be adjusted, or stays the way it is now, makes little difference for me. I definitely wouldn't be up in arms if it stayed at 3 seconds, minus Enduring, and I wouldn't object if it was changed to the opposite either.
There's a number of much more pressing issues that need fixing.
-
Yeah, the note about endgame is a very good point: once gates are open, DS now is a better get-out-of-jail card than teammates having BT. I don't think though that whether there is or there isn't an Endurance effect makes a big difference.

@MhhBurgers said:
I paid for the game, literally I can do what I want.
@MhhBurgers you most certainly can't. For example, you can't alter game files. You don't actually OWN the software, you have a limited licence to use it. I hope you were just joking, but if you actually do have bad internet connection and often DC because of it, then you're yet another reason why the ratio of DC-s that leads to a ban should be lowered.

@Wolf74 said:
"you simply choose your perks based upon what you hate the most."
So you say that this is exclusive for survivor and killer are not allowed to do the same?
@Wolf74 nope, I'm not saying that. A lot of killer perks are used for similar reasons: hate looking for the last survivor at the point when none of you has found the Hatch yet? Whispers! Got trouble finding downed survivors? Use Deerstalker. Lots of scary items in lobby? Franklin's. Genrush: NOED. Blabla, I guess I don't have to spell it all out for you.
Sure, some of these do not negate completely whatever tactics, perks, etc you're trying to counter. But there are a lot of other factors to consider. How strong the effect you want to counter is? Is it always available, or it has a cooldown, or perhaps it's one time use? These all must be taken into account when evaluating how balanced a perk or "counterperk" is.
Trust me, if new DS stays at 3 seconds, AND Enduring still has an effect on it, it will join Wake Up and Solidarity in the trash bin.
-
Omg these are amazing!
-
@Wolf74 and @Orion like I said, I'd be completely ok with Enduring working on DS, but in this case, a slight increase on the timer would be necessary.
Again, I agree with you Wolf74 that successful early tunneling is a blessing. On the other hand, it's incredibly frustrating for a survivor when they get annihilated in a game where they used Cake or BPS. New DS is generally a weak perk, it's only good against tunneling, and it only works one time in a game. I see no reason why that single use should not be made effective.
Many perks work like this by the way: you simply choose your perks based upon what you hate the most. If you hate Doctor the most, you pick Calm Spirit. If you're worried about Nurse, pick Dead Hard, Iron Will, maybe UE. If you're fed up with too many killers using NOED, take Small Game, and so on. I'd say if you've been tunneled too much, you should be given an opportunity to have an effective counter. 3 seconds minus Enduring is not an effective counter.
Btw, I don't think I've seen a single survivor using it since the change (granted, it's only a short time, but I played a lot since DLC is out). So it's not really a big issue for me, it's just how I feel it should be a reasonably balanced perk. Feel free to disagree.
-
30 minutes is too much, there certainly are cases when something comes up in RL. Repeated (say, same day) DC-s should be punished. This will still give a hard time to people who happen to have poor connection, but this is a fair price to pay. You shouldn't play anyway, if you have poor connection. If you just had a temporary hickup with your otherwise stable internet connection, you won't be effected by it.
Some people suggested that the "secrecy" the devs treat their DC ban policy with does more harm than good. I'd definitely go for a system where, after a DC, you get a warning message, which should both say something like "one more and you'll get a temporary ban", but also a few words about how it ruins the experience for the other players. Call me naive, but I believe most DC-ers are not complete #########, just frustrated about a game. A little reminder about how not to screw with others can go a long way.
-
I love tunneling, I don't care how survivors feel about it, but it's great to obliterate one survivor out of the four early in the game.
However, in this I agree with @HighQualityDonut . Either ignore Enduring, or make the stun timer longer. If a survivor is worried about being tunneled (and it sucks, I know), current DS is the only somewhat reliable counter. They have to sacrifice a perk slot for it, plus, it's one time use. It's simply not fair that a killer perk which has other applications too can (almost) competely negate the effect of a one time use perk. And let's just not forget, often it's not even the killer but another survivor's dumb rescue is what leads to tunneling.
I'd personally rather go for making the stun timer longer by a little, and let Enduring still have an effect, but I guess making Enduring not work on the new DS stun is also a solution.
-
I think the trick to playing Plague effectively is in trying to usher the survivor we're chasing near to a corrupted fountain. Not always possible, and by no means easy, but that's about the only edge she may have. I actually like the idea that you need less anti looping skills but more planning, but since fountain placement is random, it's very much dependant on luck.
-
@Leidenschaft90 you probably don't realize how great it feels when you finally get them. PigNRun is right, the only seriously screwed up killer achievement is Deranged Pursuit.
-
That's not 1% though. Many more players are nice and appreciative, I'd guess over 50%. Yes, there's a load of ridiculous complaints and demands here in the forums, but it's just human nature: we talk more about the bad things, because that's what need to be fixed. The new rank system you mention is a good example: it's bad. It does not by any mean means that the game is crap, but it's wrong and should be corrected.
It's not all that different from humanity in general. Juts think about it: out of a hundred random people, how many would you actually like? 10? 5? The rest is worthless. You shouldn't expect better, and you don't need to care about them, just find some way you can mutually cooperate on some basic level. Here, that basic level means playing the game and just ignore their communication if you don't like it.
-
Not really. I think simply punishing DC-s more is a better approach.

Could go afk in a locker. At least waste the killer's time pulling you out and carrying you to a hook.
@Mr_K that's what I usually do when something comes up. I hope you understand shooting a kid was a joke, it is wrong to do such a thing. Regularly beating them until they learn to stay quiet is enough.
-
Umm, why do people insist on calling fat people "curvy" or "slightly overweight"? Jane is fat, period. Not that she's not attractive in a weird way, but it doesn't change the facts.
-
Overly dramatic, but the one point about the number of people disconnecting is valid.
-
@Mushwin it's about the meat: those beefcaky things in McD and BK burgers, they're like 40% grinded meat, plus flour, starch and who knows what else... I'm guessing sawdust. Gyros has real meat in it.
By the way, I don't know if it's the same everywhere, but in most places, fast food fries are made of potato powder instead of just potatoes. McDonalds denies it, and maybe they're not lying, I don't know. But they definitely have this mushy feeling about them. As a proud potato, I find even the thought of it abhorrent.
-
@Shad03 nah, nothing tickles my fancy. Except naked Huntress.
-
Tell me you didn't just call Myers a mini-Legion...
-
Real life issues are no excuse.
Bring that crying kid out, shoot him, get your ass back and click Ready, we're all waiting for you!
-
KFC... both McDonalds and Burger King tastes like wet paper. At least KFC stuff has real meat in it.
But there's much better stuff out there. Mushwin, do you know what gyros is? Or döner?

I suspect that BHVR will react slowly, but sooner or later they'll see this system will have one effect: facecamping and slugging killers will stay at lower ranks, so they'll be the ones newbie survivors face first, which is very bad for getting (and keeping) new players.
They'll have to realize: any killer who does a 3-4K in most of his games belongs to higher ranks, regardless whether it's done by camping, slugging, or the fast paced, "hook one and hunt down another, let them save, heal, chase someone else, keep up the pressure, etc" gamestyle, which seems to be the devs' preference. Not without good reason: that's the killer playstyle that results in the most exciting games, but that should be incentivized by game mechanics, not a reward system or ranks.
I honestly worry about it: I don't want casual or new rank 15-ish players to have to put up with slugging billies. Not that you can't find whining, butthurt survivors at high ranks, but in general they are more prepared to deal with scummy but effective tactics.
-
I'd say all he needs is narrowing the hit cone of chainsaw, just by a little. I've seen some quite ridiculous hits. I'm generally not up in arms about "hitboxes": only real problems are with Billy's chainsaw, Huntress' hatchets and the effective are for pallet stuns (too big).
Frankly, if he did not have an instadown ability at all, he'd still be a top tier killer. Speed is everything.
-
Interesting. It's 2 minutes for me, tops. Started at rank 1 but dropped fast first day of new chapter, now at rank 3 or 4. But at any of these ranks, it's never more than 2 minutes.
I wonder if I'm just at a lucky location (Europe).
-
There's a lot of cocky survivors out there who refuse to hide. I've even seen some nicknames/profile descriptions stating "if you use UE I won't unhook you".
Clearly a sign of a faulty power balance. With near-infinites, pallet countries and SWF comms, some of them can actually pull off a chase long enough for 3-4 gens. Only question is, who at BHVR thought it's a good idea to kill the horror aspect of the game?
-
Damn. For a moment, I was hoping this pointless spam thread was deleted by a mod. Sad to see it's not the case, just a temporary hickup.
-
@Orion it's hardly fair to ask to stop hook rushing when gates are open. BT is precisely there for that. If it's indeed a bug, that's one that has to be fixed asap.
-
You get extra BP too by the "survivor found" and possibly by the Hit score event. A good number of survivors partly stay there exactly because of it.
Plus, with the new ranking system, they'll be ever more hungry for a few more percents on Evader emblem.
-
@Kagrenac it is a problem if you add the slowdown from charging, and cancelling when necessary. I guess they didn't want to make her too effective. Seems like a big hindrance to me, but it's too early to say.

@George_Soros Imagine a SWF where everybody brings this perk!
@NoShinyPony yeah, you thought you were hardcore survivor god of DBD because you're using No Mither? Try this, kiddo!
Also, why would you say a survivor gets "robbed" of a hook stage? It's more like "gifted a hook stage". Hooks are good for your health.
-
@love Great idea. By the way, did you mean it as a killer perk or survivor? If it was a survivor perk, I'd definitely go for it.
-
The Plague's problem, oddly enough, is similar to Wraith, Freddy, Pig: a more or less free first hit, then a painfully long process to get the second hit. If you're very lucky, there may be a corrupted fountain nearby, so you can play around it: get the sucker infected first, and when they're Broken or nearly Broken, get the Corruption. But usually going for a corrupted font means you're losing your target...
One thing about vomit: Vile Purge is great if you can bodyblock a survivor into a corner. Even if you have Corrupt Purge, it's better to wait till the timer ends, then puke until they get Broken. Unlike with Corrupt Purge, getting injured by being Infected does not grant the speed increase and the "Dead Hard effect" (no collision). So keep vomiting on the cornered vermin, and smack once they're injured.
Survivors will soon learn they are perfectly protected, if crouching behind a dropped pallet, regardless whether they're at the low or high edge of it. Aiming with puke is tricky anyways: so far it seems to me you have to aim for the legs.
Infecting objects is almost completely useless, since the duration is too short. With an addon, it may be useful for a three gen strat, to prevent a kicked one. But as far as I can tell, infection progress from interaction is very slow, the only viable way of actually injuring them is direct puke.
The only two advantages of this gal (I think) are the ability to shoot over even high obstacles (only viable with Corrupt Purge), and the "minigun" effect of Corrupt Purge whenever there are two or more survivors in front of you. Discreet camping recommended.
(To be clear: I'm only experimenting with her, so take it all with a grain of salt. I'm sure there is more to discover about her.)

What? You can’t buy licensed characters with shards.
I didn't mean to buy it for Iridescents. Those are for BP.
It's $6,99. Not much, and you get the scariest looking mofo in the whole game. Plus you get Freddy.
-
With so many complaints around, I'm confident they'll do a hotfix and soon. A little annoying, but hey, we just have to wait a little.
-
Nurse
Billy
Huntress
Doctor
I just can't play these. First two are disgustingly strong, I suck with hatchet aims so no Huntress for me, and Doctor is just too vulnerable to being looped. I play ALL the others though.
-
Yeah it confused me too. I thought for a moment it's already dedicated servers, but they said it would start in the summer. Really weird.
-
A bigger variety of secret offerings would be a better option. Some ideas:
- Make Shroud of Union appear in killer Bloodweb too
- An offering that creates one or more extra dull totems
- One that makes you spawn closer to your Hex totem
And I'm sure there are a lot more options.
-
Maybe it's time you realize: Iridescents are there for a little extra BP injection. You just gotta buy Freddy. He's worth it :)
-
It looks like there are suddenly a lot more potato survivors around. Played a number of survivor games, and what some of them do... it's beyond cringy.
Maybe just bad luck though.
-
Yeah it's kinda ridiculous... buying the two new characters with Auric Cells costs about twice as much as buying the whole thing as DLC. Like, what? I mean, most games that feature in-game currency are basically conning dumbass 14 year olds who can't do basic math, but this is DBD. The community is known for being extremely intelligent, mature and responsible. Surely BHVR doesn't expect anyone to buy the same thing for a double price?
-
The single one perk that I curse myself the most whenever I'm not taking it is Bamboozle. Not always useful, but there are a lot of maps where it's a must: Léry's, Crotus Prenn maps, Mother's Dwelling, and some others too.
Unfortunately, it's almost completely useless on The Game, but I'm willing to risk that.
For survivor, it's Urban without question.

@George_Soros Dont you need 9k shards? Might be mistaken though
@Master Oh I'll pay real money for that disgusting lady. And for the new killer.
I hardly ever pay for cosmetics, but I'm willing to pay for actual content. So I can reserve them shiny shards to buy BP. Will need it: even that will not be enough for getting both of them to lvl 40, plus maxing their perks on all my favourite characters.

No maple syrup in my country. How is it?
No corn dogs either.
:(
