Every Killer SHOULD be A tier. There should be 0 bad Killers, that is simply poor design.
That is impossible, unless you make every killer identical.
Some abilities will simply be better than others, be it through their versatility, their effect, or whathaveyou. From there, you’ll see more tier lists emerge, creating the exact same issue you’re trying to combat.
-
I know this is largely satirical, but my legitimate guess would be that we’ll see the Swamp RB update, Legion’s add-ons updated, and maybe some Artist readjustments.
-
No specific characters get special treatment, be it positive or negative. It’s the player that either gets it, or gets out.
If I feel like a particular survivor got screwed hard by their teammates, I let ‘em throw wood on my noggin, and they can do whatever. Weirdly, there’s been a handful that wouldn’t have the mercy, running and pointing at the nearest hook.
Funny survivors also get out.
Sometimes…

Might be intended to allow for Trickster's wink to be more visible. Honestly though I like it better that way.
It’s a really strange way to fix it, though. Surely moving him slightly to the left is a more elegant solution than pulling the camera back a bit.
-
I remember playing a Hawkins offering on Mirror Myers, only for it to get warded and the game sending us to Rotten Fields.
And me warding a Haddonfield offering, only for it to random Haddonfield anyway.
Also also, wonder how many times the ward gets trumped by 4x the same map offering?
-
If it's in close range, it's just a hit.
No hacks.
-
Who knows, honestly. It's by no means exclusive to DbD either.
-
You can clip through the killer after you're hit by default. Unless you mean another survivor, which would be...rather pointless. Maybe a bit confusing.
-
I never considered this, but I would presume it has to be with a Mori offering, since PH's Final Judgement is in fact not a mori, but just a special kill, like an RBT popping. His actual mori with an offering is an entirely different animation too.
Which makes me wonder whether Myers' Tombstone behaves the same way...

Every slowdown you mentioned is exactly the same as it would be if you didn’t hear the fake scream or blood. Same with power recovery and power resource, please try again.
Nemesis and twins are the only ones who have an actual complaint where their power gets affected but it will be very rare to see this. I guess huntress had about a 1 in a thousand chance of getting affected too.
Again I don’t think you quite understand how validation works.
I fully admit I have no idea how it works. I'm not at all inclined to learn about it either, I am just stating my experiences.
Yes, it would happen anyway, but the issue lies with the fact that such is not the feedback given. It sounds like you hit 'em, it looks like you hit 'em, but you didn't. Which causes all that to happen as if you just missed, which didn't seem to happen on your end, making it seem like you just got denied a hit.

Can we not involve religions and orientation in games please.
Orientation has been explained often enough, but religion is also a thing in DbD.
With my very limited knowledge of Silent Hill, I do recall it having religious themes, with one line in Chery's bio IN DBD even directly mentioning the big man himself.

Slowdown and wasted resources?
Please enlighten me as to how validation causes. Honestly at this point I feel like bhvr should explain validation on the main page of DBD so people actually understand what it is 🤦♂️
Slowdown:
The lunge recovery. (not the wipe slowdown)
Potential power channeling slowdown
Potential power use slowdown
Potential power recovery slowdown
(Potentially) Wasted resources:
Power unit, be it a projectile, or a charge of some kind.
Time
Double the time spent on having to break pallets in specifically Nemesis' case.

OMG a bit of blood and sound where it shouldn’t happen. It doesn’t affect gameplay at all, so again where’s the problem apart from killer ego?
...and slowdown.
And wasted resources.
And quite possibly another pallet/window you have to play around, because of the above...

The release (presumablu) isn't until March. We still have a mid-chapter to go.

Can confirm, even if I was two frames too late.

What actually is the Saw one?
'Saw' To Drop 5 of Its Most Deadly Game Traps As NFTs | HYPEBEAST
-
Saw already has NFTs associated with it.
-
There's only so much the animators can do while still keeping the game legal everywhere. Some countries really don't like decapitations, for example.
-
The survivor instantly gains wiggle progress if you "drop" them, which actually translates into them 'getting out' if that progress would fill the bar.
-
I can see where you're coming from, but you're exaggerating the map-wide range. She can only down/injure survivors from extreme range if the survivor can be read that easily. There's simply far too many options for the survivor at that distance that it's an insecure shot at best. If you get damaged because of that, either you were too predictable, or she got lucky.
I can't speak much for the survivor side, as I have only faced her once to this day. I didn't know that letting go of the repel action reset it. That would actually be a fair nerf, if perhaps not all that impactful.
[Add.] That said, much like Nurse, her main weakness is uncertainty of knowledge, If she gets it wrong, she loses distance because of the cast slowdown and launch slowdown, plus the following cooldown. You can exploit this by being unpredictable. Ie. counterintuitive movement, denying information, or if at all possible, supplying wrong information.
I have to agree with the post below me, however. Let a killer be good for a change.
Let me have this. -
With an add-on, sure, I can see that.
Without I'm not so sure. Why even bother laying out trails at that point?

I think it's happening everywhere. I've had it happen to me a few times and its happened to a friend of mine as well. Seems like some massive server desync though it appears to be random.
The main instance I remember is on The Game; as killer I was walking up the stairs by an exit gate, turned a corner and it teleported me to the bottom walking into the wall by the stairs.
If I may ask, what region do you and your friend play in?
-
This is one of those things that I would consider a DbD quirk that I'd actually miss if it went away. Walking past a destroyed hook always makes me think of it as a survivor's grave, with their item lying there in lieu of flowers. Call it "charming", if you'll excuse the wordplay.
-
I remember when ClownIsKing switched their icon to Twins. Those were weird times indeed.
-
There's a new sound effect on Swamp coming from the lanterns on the docks and some maze tiles I've never heard until this patch. Maybe that can be taken as a hint?
-
My hacker report from November 29th got marked as "Solved" last friday, which is honestly quicker than I expected.
-
It only was free for a week. It's 20 euros on Epic now, just like Steam.
That said, I don't really see the harm if BHVR got paid by Epic instead of us. It ultimately doesn't really change anything for BHVR, but they got a new store to get sales from.

It will happen because of grades resets. People want iri 1 back, people start sweating, so you'll see much more meta bullshit than usual
People care about grades?
That's wild.
-
The mods pass feedback on to the devs, they aren't involved with the actual development of, well, anything besides the forums, afaik.

It definitely can. People sweat more at any mmr when season starts
Yeah but it's not like you're going to be matched with those because of the grade reset. It'll happen anyway.
-
ranks don't exist anymore.
This can't happen any more than it already does, since it does not influence matchmaking.
-
I got called an Artist boss yesterday. That was nice, for an autodidact.
Which was followed by one of the saltiest players I have seen in a long while. “you vs me and my friends, lets stream it” kind of stuff.
-
Kinda sad we would even need a content creator to tell us this, even though it was a sound argument to begin with.
-
Insidious is not the problem with facecamping. It just complements it. Makes it even more punishing for unaware solos, sure, but it’s still not the cause of the grief.
-
Ngl, I thought UE 5 came out years ago.

I know they are but whenever someone brings up horror its usually a combination of them. If we are talking pvp friday the 13 got it to a point it just sucked as a game on technical fronts.
Yes, because it was unfair.
The ‘horror’ comes from the unfairness, ino. That just doesn’t work if you want to ‘balance’ a PvP game. They are quite obviously mutually exclusive.

Dead by daylight is unreal engine 5? Holly hell seriously?
Come to think of it, I might be entirely wrong. I just remember the game updating to accomodate an UE update, but whether that was to UE 5 I don’t know for certain.
-
Only if it hides their TR entirely. Imagine a snowman shuffling towards you, only for a Bubba to pop out and mow you down.
-
I thought it already was?

No it needs to have the feeling as well and tell me do you feel like this is a legit horror game. Think of games that are always brought up when it comes to horror fatal frame, silent hill, resident evil other than 6, amnesia do any of them just rely on visual or is there more to it?
Those are all singleplayer games, to my knowledge, which can pull off far more ”horror” than any PvP game can. Enemies can spawn in whenever and wherever, the play area is linear and tells its own stories, voice-acting can be a thing without it becoming basic “I did this attack.”
-
Even if it’s not, is that a bad thing?
It’s the nature of any PvP game. Once you understand that the “scary” has its own recognisable goals, tools and limits, the experience just isn’t scary anymore. Especially after you’ve played it for over 20 hours. No presentation in the world will change that.
What makes a horror game a horror game? Atmosphere? That wears off after the second time you’ve seen it, especially once you realise how it’s pulled off. Scary characters? Takes a bit longer, but the same applies.
Fear stems from the unknown. In a PvP video game, the ‘unknown’ is broken down to its mechanical components, which is not unlike revealing the endoskeleton of an animatronic doing its thing, in full lighting.
If you want true horror in DbD, you need something that’s wholly unpredictable by any player, and have it pose an (unfair) threat. It’s why Spoopy Myers is still scary. You don’t know where he’s coming from, or even if he’s still after you. Hell, you don’t even know you’re facing it at first.
-
Would be nice if there was a slight visual difference for rekindled totems. Some kind of warping effect to indicate it's been "revived".
-
It's weird, 'cuz it's inconsistent.
Artist's M2 hitting directly does count for getting the sparkles, as does Nemesis' M2 which also contaminates the survivor if they weren't already. Plague's Vile Purge works as normal as well, even filling up the infection meter, but doesn't destroy the snowman.

what about the dwight? the guy who lightburned me from far how did he get me from that range and quick. Also he ran up to me pretty fast and blinded me? I'm so confused by that
Can't say for sure. I will say it looks suspicious but I'd need to see more to confirm. As I said, you already have one very blatant hacker, but you can never rule out another, I suppose.
-
Jonah's a hacker. Head-on can't activate that quickly, nor does the stun take that long.

What's the point on putting a crosshair when you're intoxicated? Never noticed that was a thing.
I think it’s to give players suffering from motion sickness a point to focus on.
No idea if that’s how it works, though.
