You want jaws in dbd. We get it.
-
I know for a fact you were active on the forums when it became known this was likely.

It varies per region. I’m in EU, and I’ve seen quite a few of them. Some subtle, some… not so much.
-
I would urge caution with making wishlists.
We've been burnt before…
-
I don’t think anyone would really have noticed…
Until you pointed it out just now.

I strongly recommend you check the date of posting before you respond. This one was a 4-year-old thread that got necro'd by OP.

AFAIK, there’s no server-side checks for impossible feats.
-
This is the very first time I’ve heard this claim.
The consensus is that she (?) is possibly our single-most difficult killer to play. FWIW, I kinda hope she stays that way.

Maybe I’m wrong, but I feel like it’s pretty universally accepted that a win is escaping as survivor (with all gens done and gate open) or 3-4K as killer. Now keep in mind that “win” doesn’t necessarily translate to “skill”, which BHVR still doesn’t seem to understand. You can do nothing all match as survivor and still escape because the rest of your team was really good or you can 3-4K as killer with very little skill if the survivor team is just messing around or not very good.
So long as there are people that only view a 4K as a killer victory, it’s awkward to state a ‘winrate’.
As for survivor, maths was never my strong suit, but shouldn’t the escape rate equal the winrate, if your individual escape is a victory?

I thought it was pretty well agreed upon at LEAST for the killer side that more than a 2k is a win, less than a 2k is a loss and 2k is a tie.
That’s still a community-determined metric.
-
That would require defining what a win is, which varies per player.

Gee, I wonder what my favourite charms are 🤔

Can we get a list of the options to give feedback on? Looking at the pictures shared "going for unhook" and "split up" are good adds but "healing" and "chasing me" seem unnecessary when the HUD already gives that information. I worry maybe some options will be left out in favor of ones that are already currently in the HUD.
If people are able to toggle the chatwheel off can there be something to let the others in the lobby know? Something like maybe a mic with cross through it, similar to what other games have both in the lobby and in game to let you know you have a teammate not participating in communication. This will help players avoid wasting time using the chat wheel if they end out in a lobby with others who have toggled it off. No need to send "help" when the others have chat toggled off and won't see it.
Regarding “I’m being chased”, there are scenarios where the chase indicator wouldn’t appear, but the players could still be considered in-chase. Like with certain stealth killers, or a Pig trying to moonwalk for a headpop, for example.

Its not about being good. its just refusing to engage with the system. if it was not allowed to be disabled you would still have to see the information on your screen vs not seeing it at all.
I still think putting survivors who toggle off into there own separate lobbies in the back end would be the best thing to do.
that way people who want it off can turn it off, but people who do want to be using it are not forced to play with people who completely disable the system. But then we'd have 4 separate queues, double that with events.
Crossplay + comms
Crossplay without comms
No crossplay + comms
No crossplay without comms
-
I mean, the players that will turn it off won’t have engaged with it anyway.
This system was never going to make every solo surv a god gamer.

He asks if there is something coming I answered what I have heard its not a spoiler when I am not 100% sure myself if its going to be added. Still how can you even have a conversation of something without someone naming something in his topic. Only answer to his question is then yes they are going to add new stuff. Going any further than that is literally spoiler.
You can use this thing
Then select the third option. Spoiler should appear.
Which allows you to turn the selected text into spoilers.

They shouldnt spawn. But im confused that its not mentioned in the wiki.
You are correct, I just tested it with bots in customs.
Strange indeed that the wiki implies they do.

Yeah sounds weird
Idk if weird was the right word. We didn’t really do that much better, but that may also have been because none of us really cared for the results. It was fun, tho, which is what matters most in the end.

If hes in power, the orbs dont spawn. If hes in power 90% of the time like people are claiming, your teammate injuring ppl isn't helping supply orbs.
Where are you finding that they don’t spawn? Iirc, he just can’t see them, but they still spawn.

Just like some birds, she might just prefer to walk, despite being able to fly.

I’ve been apart of it twice.
It’s mostly random swears and the occasional call-out where the killers or “the green thingies” are.

I'd guess because it would get confusing to other people talking to you. If I changed my name everytime I messaged you, you wouldn't think it was the same person each message and would likely assume several different people are talking.
Forum Name Changes and Account Deletion - BHVR
This page gives three reasons. My screenshotting is acting odd, so I'm afraid you'll have to take a look yourself.

When I became active on the forums, I managed to figure out how to change my pfp, but I still don't know how I can change my name. This username is my OG username I had been using since I was like 13 and I haven't been using it for years.
I believe you can inquire with the mods to change your handle.
Though I believe there’s a limit of 1 change per user.

This whole thing with bloodpoints is one of the strangest things I have seen from any company when it comes to their game. You have an in game point system for which they make no money. You can't buy bloodpoints for actual money. They could award a million bloodpoints every single time you log into the game and it wouldn't cost BHVR a penny. Yet as there are more and more survivors and killers making it take that much longer to level everything up they have gotten more and more stingy with how they award bloodpoints. I have never seen another company give the middle finger to their player base the way BHVR does. They are extremely fortunate the game itself is a good game because it seems their business model otherwise is to see how much they can get away with treating their player base like crap.
Simple engagement.
Progression costing BP means you're guaranteed to be playing the game for a good while.
And that means exposure to the various monetisation schemes
And that means money.
Mind you, it was a lot worse before. BP nodes used to cost more, the action of spending it was slower, prestiging reset your inventory, quests didn't exist… etc.

That blows… I was hoping to get a red Jason pfp since I dont play much of Freddy anymore.
The red icons are unvailable in general.
You have quite a rare icon, indeed.

This is an asymm.
There’s 4 of the same interest, versus 1 with the other.
Unless the Killer’s choice weighs heavier, survivors will always win if they unite
-
I see your proposal and raise a skin that changes Judgment's staff into Jim the iron beam.
-
Hey real quick: maybe explore your own ideas instead of having an AI expand on them.
-
Strong suspicion that this was written by an AI.
But to engage with the topic, I have a question:
What’s stopping turbo-competitive gamers from queueing in the ‘regular’ queue, which supposedly makes for substantially easier games for them?
-
Another forum I used to frequent would auto- lock threads after 2 months of inactivity.
They’d then be referred to as ‘Archived’.
-
Thing is, a content drought might straight-up kill the game.
They’ll lose a lot of momentum if they suddenly stop dropping new stuff for half a year, or more. And they’ll probably struggle to pick that back up.

When I think of games that developed their own engine I think of Halo Infinite, which was a huge failure. The engine wasn't any better than Unreal Engine, and in fact looked worse in a lot of aspects. I'm pretty sure that's part of the reason the game was delayed over and over, and I'm pretty sure some articles were saying that it was estimated to have cost them $300 million just to make the engine.
There's also Capcom, with their RE Engine. The modern RE titles have been sucesses across the board, I reckon.
Although there's absolutely no way BHVR has the resources that Capcom does.

From what I remember people also took issue with it because it hurt to look at, whether they just didn't like how it looked or it physically strained their eyes. Also, although we can now change the color of our scratch marks, a lot of players (especially new players) will still have them set as red because that is the default
True. Good points, indeed.
-
I've heard cheaters can 'summon' impossible skill checks like these.
-
Come to think of it, now that we have different coloured scratch marks, the reason why Shattered Square's lighting changed is no longer a thing.
-
I mean, these aren't QoL changes. These are straight buffs.
-
I suspect inverted perspective (3rd Person killer, first Person Survivor) is going to suck for survivor as well.
Great horror atmosphere, but a balance nightmare.
-
Bird :)
-
Huge.
-
I’m confused. You say you didn’t launch the game on PS, yet it’s where you have the most progress?
-
It couldn’t be because you’re bleeding out?
Sometimes I wonder if the gamers forget games aren’t just about mechanics and numbers.
-
I mean, I get what you’re saying, but at the same time, there’s going go be some elitism that comes with it.
If someone posts a clip, and makes even 1 deviation from what’s seen as ‘the optimal play’, they’re going to get ridiculed, and the whole conversation is pretty much dead.
I don’t really like the idea of a #matches played indicator either. It makes the people with the highest numbers king, when they don’t necessarily have to be the most knowledgeable (or even just a pleasant person).
We’d essentially be putting the players most likely to be jaded on a pedestal. Idk if we necesarily want that.
-
Not to mention how nothing burger some of the more modern achievements are.
“Do basic thing 20 times”
“Run perk + do basic thing 20 times”
They’re just uninspired.
-
Wesker and Drac hogged them.

Her chase is not weak and she is by far the best killer in the game if they release her in the current state.
I suspect that if they do nothing, in about a year people will be complaining about her being too oppressive once people get the hang of her.
A year? Those posts will appear within the first month. Hell, the first two weeks.

If tunneling is toxic because it ruins the game for one person then gen rushing is the same sense your queue as killer can be longer then the match it self so why does it apply to one side but not the other if its bad on one side its bad on the other and tunneling is just genrushing for killer its just doing there objective quickly. The devs should make hooking new survivors rewarding but last time that happend survivors didnt like the killer getting benefits and killers didnt like how you were put into allt of lose lose senerios with the anti tunneling.
You did not read what I wrote. I explicitly avoided calling it toxic.
-
Idk, in my experience, genrushing is rarely something that is achieved intentionally. There are genrushing builds, which are their own topic regarding “toxicity”, but genrushing on its own is too vague a concept to be (or not be) described as toxic.
Tunnelling is a choice the killer makes, however. And regardless of the killer’s intentions with it, another player’s gonna be affected by that choice. Said effect is typically a boring match for at least 1 out of 5 players, likely more than that if the killer is succesful. That match may as well be called a waste of time for those players. That’s not a good thing, no matter how you slice it.
Whether it’s “toxic” hardly seems relevant. It just sucks to face. Simple as.
-
Fixing all the bugs is impossible, no matter how much time and money you throw at it.
Hopefully, we will see less bugs, however.
That said, like Wezqu said, it’ll likely get worse before it gets better as we transition to this new codebase
-
Yes. I will definitely use the pause to practice killer.
And not to count all the crows on the map.
Definitely the first one.
Yes.
