So... an upgraded version of Fire Up?
-
Killer
- Accused of wallhacks because I found a Laurie in a locker. She had idle crows.
- Been told that I should burn alive because I main Freddy
- Been accused of wallhacking because of Legion's Killer Instinct
Survivor
Accused of being a "useless teammate in situations where there was nothing I could do.
-
Now that is a relief!
Thank you, my friend :)
-
Corrupt Intervention and Pop Goes the Weasel are very good perks. I think you should get them.

Yes keys do need a change but I really felt like the mori nerf was fine.
It wasn't. It no longer gives you a tactical advantage as it used to, since you cannot kill someone early on. It is literally just an animation, while keys can make the game end faster than it should.
-
I want to know why, apparently, "Freddy main" is blocked. I don't like that at all.
-
@Nathan13 said:

that makes no sense though they've already been nerfed what they are trying to change with them this time??
Make them useful again, most likely. There is currently no reason to use a mori, unless you just like the animation. As for keys, we all know they need changes as soon as possible.

changing the animation or the offering??
The offering.

Not nerfing, changing. Last Q&A Stream confirmed it.

I've seen one or two. Usually pink, which is Frank if I am not mistaken.
-
Rank 1
Freddy. He has been my main since I first started playing, which was prior to his rework by the way. He is my babe, he is perfect. I love him.
My favourite add-ons are his Swing Chains and Paint Thinner.
-
Favourite killer perk: Blood Warden
Least favourite killer perk: Furtive Chase
Favourite survivor perk: Adrenaline
Least favourite survivor perk: Object of Obsession

Now I need to ask. Forever Freddy?
Did someone say Forever Freddy?
When I want to run such build, it usually looks like this:
You can replace Dying Light and Corrupt Intervention if you want to, and it will work just fine. The point of this build is to slow the game down... more than just a little bit.
I hate fast-paced trials, both as survivor and as killer. This build is literally a blessing from the Entity, in my opinion.
-
It is always nice to see positivity here :)
As a community, we should understand that we are a family. A giant, divided and complicated family, but a family nonetheless.
I wish you all good luck on your next trials <3
-
I am not sure about the others, but I can think I can answer for my main.
I believe Freddy's motivation is, simply, revenge. He no longer has his twisted lust, and all that's left if a burning desire for revenge.
As A Nightmare on Elm Street Remake showed us, Freddy went after every single teenager who studied in Badham Preschool years ago, until Nancy and Quentin were the only students left. This fact alone can be characterised as vengeance, but still had his lust because of Nancy, his true obsession.
But after everything goes wrong, I believe Freddy just looses his lust and doesn't care anymore. He just wants to kill the one who wronged him. And he killed Nancy's Mother. And he almost killed Quentin, if it wasn't for the Entity.
And now, in the trials, the survivors are no different from the parents who set him on fire. They are not different from Quentin and Nancy.
They are all his children now.
"You are all my children now" -Freddy Krueger
-
Once. I managed to get one with a Winter Party Starter. But it was a very long time ago.
-
It is because each one of your killers will have a different MMR level. The removal of killer switching prevents you from finding a lobby with a killer that you are not good with, and then switching to your main in order to have an easier time.
-
No, you are not. Characters are here to be played... so play!

It isn't Freddy so, no. U good fam
(I'm joking, although I despise going up against Freddy I don't think people who play him are bad people.. Though a fair amount of Freddies tend to be really toxic but that's neither here nor there.)
Bubba is a totally valid killer
"don't think people who play him are bad people."
Thanks, that is very sweet of you :)
I assure you that Freddy mains, like me, are the nicest and most wholesome players in the Fog. You just need to give us a chance to prove it.

It's because the majority of freddy players are people who most likely had bad last few games. So they switch to Freddy, because people turn potato against freddy for some reason. So it's generally an easy win.
I am an exception then, because I actually main Freddy. I am always going to play him, no matter if my last trials were good or bad.
I also play Huntress, but I am so bad with her that I actually have to wait for rank reset, otherwise I am going to derank into oblivion.
-
Well, good news! Keys and Moris will get changed again in the future, so we can look forward to that.
@Sluzzy said:
Killers are not locking the hatch, he is just stomping his feet to close it. A key shouldn't be needed to open it.
The endgame collapse is way too killer sided.
It is "no-one sided", in my opinion. Just an overall bad mechanic which should be removed.
@Anara said:
It will be very nice, I though about it too, 10sec seems fine to me.
I agree. But take my opinion with a grain of salt, because I agree pretty much with anything that would make matches go slower. I really hate fast-paced trials.

Same. To be honest, I haven't used this perk since early 2019.

Agreed. And while they are at it, bring the old grab animation back:

Not enough killers, my friend.
-
It is time to fix this map.
-
As far as I am concerned, no changes were done to prestige weapons. Sometimes they look weird in the lobby, but that is because of that pinkish neon aesthetic.
-
Yes, Haddonfield is not the same as it originally was, but it didn't change that much. A few loops here and there, but that's it.

I'm all for people getting some kind of exclusive for doing things like going through the old bloodweb, as you mentioned. But even if players could somehow play the old broken dbd with infinites, no exhaustion, vacuum pallets, vacuum windows, jungle gym infinites, pallet towns, broken lobbies where you had to ready up every 5 seconds with swf, old sabo, etc etc I still wouldn't want them to get the original legacy.
It was a reward for players in 2016 that played a really broken game... but we still loved to play it! I think that giving it out in any form would make it lose its purpose. My stance is firm about this. Legacy shouldn't be returned to players that didn't earn it in 2016, at all.
I realize you might have wanted a different response, but those are my thoughts on the matter.
No worries, my friend. I didn't want anything but your honest opinion. And I thank you for answering.
My thoughts on the matter are a little bit different, of course, but as I've told I am a 2018 player, so I never had a chance to get it (didn't even have a PC back in 2016). It is more than obvious that, if there was a legitimate way to earn Legacy, I would take it. However, that doesn't change the fact that I have an immense amount of respect for those who earned it back in the day, and that is why I wanted to see if there was a way to bring it back that would make everyone happy.
Once again, thank you. And I apologise if I asked too many questions.

Personally, even though I lost my legacy skins I wouldn't want them to be reintroduced for everyone that never earned them. I play DBD with my brother a lot and he still has his L3 Meg. I feel if it was given out to everyone, it'd be a big kick in the teeth to older players that have legacy, as they were always said to be exclusive.
If the developers promote things as being exclusive, they should stay exclusive. Not only did I lose my legacy but other exclusives from 2016 I had like Science Fair Claudette, Street Meg etc were given away to everyone. Quite frustrating.
I see. Thank you for your answer. It is not every day I have to chance to talk to an actual Legacy player and I believe this specific topic should be discussed more often.
If you don't mind another question, what if they were reintroduced, but not given out to everyone? What if there was a new way to earn them? Like going through the old Bloodweb again, for example.
Would that make things better? Or it still wouldn't be fair?

Like the one that makes him 4.4. Who thought that add on would actually be used?
Who knows? Probably someone who never understood Billy in the first place.
-
There aren't many killers around, my friend, and someone has to against red rank players. Unfortunately, sometimes the game chooses you.
-
I don't know what happened, I don't know how, and I don't know why. All that I know is that we need more communication as soon as possible. And that is a fact.
-
@GannTM said:

That’s a good point. Honestly, they should just remove the overheat and keep his current add ons the same as they are.
Overheat mechanic must go, but he might need another add-on pass. Some of them are useless.

I think new Billy is still very balanced I just think the nerf was so unnecessary.
Agreed. But the nerf did make him a little bit weaker, therefore losing some of his potential. In my opinion, that is what makes Oni more balanced than Billy.
@Brub said:
https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/2096128#Comment_2096128
Billy with add-ons was not balanced. base-kit Billy was 100% balanced
Like I said, it is debatable. I've seen insta-saw Billys getting destroyed by good teams, and I've seen insta-saw Billys win with 5 gens left.

Yeah... lost my L3 Hillbilly and Claud and never got them refunded. :/
I can only imagine how frustrating it must have been. I first started playing DBD on 2018, so Legacy was way before my time. But grinding through the old Bloodweb for a exclusive only to lose it in the end is disheartening.
If I may ask, as someone who lost their Legacy, what is your opinion on the current state of such skins?
Do you think they should return somehow? Meaning that you and everyone who wasn't playing back them will have a chance to get it.
Or do you think they should remain exclusive? Which probably means that no one else will ever get them, no matter if they were playing back then or not.
-
" we mainly talk about a killer that offers fun and exciting gameplay from both sides where it actually feels like an interactive multiplayer game."
Alright, if you had asked this question a long time ago, my answer would have been Billy. Old Billy was, without a shadow of doubt, the most balanced killer in the game. The only OP thing about him was insta-saw, and even that is debatable.
Nowadays, I think I have to go with Oni, because he is basically Billy but with extra steps.

No I have not. I remember those addons, and I remember that they were definitely not great. They were terrible addons because they had a meh effect that was very very situational. They were also around when flashlights were a little too strong, but they are fine now.
Fair enough. And you are right, they were indeed very situational.
Okay, I just thought of something. I have another question, if you don't mind. Do you think Lightborn should affect the Lightburn mechanic for Wraith and Nurse?

People you should be able to pip against, not 2/4k, just pip if your playing well.
The majority of time you should be able to pip. If your in the right MMR, or at least safety pip, and sometimes depip. But rarely, even rarer than now, double pip.
But yes, once we are reliably placed in the right MMR, 2 kills 2 escapes 6-8 hook games will become the aim
Fair enough. It is good to think I am going to be able to play Huntress without deranking into oblivion (I love her, but I am terrible with her at the same time).
I think it is going to be a very good feature. If it works properly, that is.
Thanks for the help!

Dead Dawg has so much wasted space. The map is bigger than the resources on it are allocated. It's also absolutely god awful for killers, since you need to break like 6+ walls just to get started.
Glad to see I am not the only one who thinks that this map is awful. Because it definitely is.

As soon as MMR is implemented, killers will have separate MMR for each killer.
This means that you cannot swap in lobby due to the fact you'll be paired with other people of your MMR.
So yeah, if your good at a certain killer you'll be put against better people and unable to switch, but you should only be against people you can handle.
Wait a minute, now I have a question:
"people you can handle."
Does this means that you will be paired with people that you should be able to 4k? Or 2k and 2 escapes, as intended by the devs?
-
For a moment, I thought this thread was about how many generators have you repaired since you first started playing. I was about to open DBD Playerstats to check it.
-
Welcome to the Forums, my friend!
Your suggestion is a very good one, however there is an achievement that requires all 4 survivors to escape through the hatch, and such change would make it impossible to get.
-
@EvilJoshy said:
Those survivors DCed because they're bad survivors. Let them eat a DC penalty. They won't be missed. I remember the days of double mending add ons legion, instasaw billy, machine gun hatchet huntress. Those were broken. Freddy is not. Play whoever you want.
It is impossible to forget Infinite Mending Legion, isn't it? Literally the worst trials I've ever played.
-
Oh, that is interesting!
I like your ideas. But if I may ask, have you considered bringing back some of his "Lightburn resistance" add-ons? They were situational, but they could give him an advantage on certain scenarios.

Main reason I say it is because of freddy’s now inherit synergy with slowdown perks like pop or ruin. Since you intend to keep his teleport his ability to pressure gens is quite strong.
40% sounds pretty good to me
Otherwise though great rework and I really wish they didn’t standardise Freddy as much as they did
You are right. His slowdown can be a little bit weaker, as long as he keeps his mobility. Besides, 40% is still strong, and you can reach 50% with perks like Thanatophobia and Dying Light.
And thanks for the compliment, my friend! I am glad you and @ReverseVelocity liked my ideas. This is, in my opinion, what a perfect version of Freddy would look like. It is sad to see that we are stuck with his new power, which is going to get nerfed. It disheartens me.
-
@DawnMad said:
People don't like Freddy these days, he is very oppressive and requires minimal skill. DCing the second they load in is a bit extreme though.
Yes, it is extreme. But I don't see it happen very often. And I am a Freddy main.

I like the idea but 50% might be a little overkill
It is exactly how it used to be. But I suppose we can do a few more changes.
Why do you think it is a little overkill? And what value sounds good? 40%, perhaps? 45%?
-
Trickster is overpowered?
My friend, Trickster is literally one of the weakest killers in DBD's history, loosing only to PTB Ghostface.
Freddy isn't overpowered either. And Nurse... Well, a good Nurse is. But that is because she needs to be.
-
@FrenziedRoach said:
Could be worse... could of been the Old Freddy
You were lucky to get a full game when you played as that guy
I must be the luckiest player in the Fog, then. It was extremely rare for someone to DC when I played as Old Freddy. And I played him a lot.
I think that is because they underestimated Freddy's chances of actually beating them. And I always tried my best to punish them for it.

Sounds pretty cool, the only problem is that incapacitated is a Twins-specific effect. You might want to just have it so they can't do basic interactions, otherwise you'd be able to trap people at the gates by pulling them into the dream. Plus the HUD effect is Victor's hands grabbing onto the survivor, which would look weird against a Freddy lol.
Apart from that, it seems pretty great! He'd actually be able to prevent survivors from finishing actions in front of him, and he'd still have that much needed mobility.
The only thing I'd add is an indication of if you were visible to the survivor during the Dream Transition. Maybe they could be highlighted in blue (like if they were fully asleep) when they can see you. This would make an important part of Freddy's kit accessible to players without having to memorize the timings.
Okay, so this is what Incapacitated currently does. I don't see a problem with it preventing you from leaving through the Exit Gates, because the effect would end as soon as you enter the Dream World, allowing you to leave.
The HUD effect is related to Victor being attached to a survivor, not the status effect itself, meaning other survivors would get no warning that their friend cannot interact with anything during the Transition.
And I like your idea. Knowing exactly when you are visible to the survivor creates opportunities for some sick mindgames. A very good suggestion!
-
It is probably an unpopular opinion regarding this topic, but I don't think maps should be smaller. I think big maps look nice and are healthy or the game.
However, it comes with a price. In order for a map to be bigger, its loops must be weaker. Therefore, the amount of additional time it takes for a killer to find you can be compensated by the short amount of time it takes for the killer to down you.
Take Mother's Dwelling, for example. I don't think it needs to be smaller, I think its loops must be weaker. And another example, The Pale Rose. This map used to be HUGE, and I think it should be reverted, but with weaker loops.
But this is just my opinion. Feel free to disagree, if you want to.
