At that time i was a freddy main and could play him well on a regular basis but let be honest he was not a mid tier killer he had his tier just for him in the F tier zone.
He had a unique play style and my favority play style of all time the game provide
Then I respectfully doubt you could "play him well". If you really could do that, you would know that he was nowhere near the worst possible tier, despite his weaknesses that needed to be addressed.

I don't exactly remember when I started playing, and I know this tier list is off. But this is probably the tier list I'd make if I traveled back in time and said "HEY, MAKE A KILLER TIERLIST NOW!"

Biggest Note: In hindsight I do think pre-rework Freddy is underrated, but this is based off myself from the past, he doesn't have that hindsight.
Despite the lack of hindsight, I loved the way your past-self would do a Tier List!

Started playing in July 2016. Now I had a bit of a hard time with this because you have to consider that real infinites were in the game at this point. You could infinite at jungle gyms.
So even though Trapper was awful at most things, he was able to block off some infinites (even though it really wasn't much help). He also excelled at proxy facecamping hooks with a trap directly under a hooked survivor. There was some crazy mindgames back then on whether the Trapper would fake setting the trap under the hook or commit to it as survivors would try and unhook before his setting trap animation finished.
Apart from that, it took years setting and picking up traps and they could be permanently sabotaged.
Hillbilly is the next best because of his crazy mobility, instant down power and the fact he could break pallets with it too. When you compare that to old Wraith and Trapper, that's amazing. He was also really fun to play which is why I mained him :)
You could say Wraith was SS tier back then if you considered how "OP" he was considered at low ranks or when people just started playing. But in reality he only really excelled at bloodpoint farming. Yes you could hide your TR but his cloak was very visible back, hooks represented who the killer was (not map specific like it is today) and Spinechill also existed.

Fun times.
Those Tier Lists from the very early days are always interesting to see because there isn't really much you can add to them.

I want to say Bubba’s rework happened after I started playing but I can’t remember. Correct me if I’m wrong.
EDIT: I just realized that Plague wasn’t on the tier list #########. I’d put her A tier.
Bubba's rework happened with Patch 4.1.0 in July of 2020.
From what I remember about those times, this is a very accurate Tier List, the only exception being Pig's position...well, at least I don't think she was the worst.

Yeah he was 100% the weakest killer at that time. In his released PTB state he was was weaker than even on his full released. I legit remember I never lost to a PTB trickster, because he was much slower when aiming. And counted were the times I lost to a trickster before his got his new buff. I only lost to fewer than 5 times to pre-buffed trickster. Which is why I made this account to complain about how weak he was 😂

I started playing in 4.7.0 and i feel like there's too many killers to make a tier list but i definitely believe trickster was THE worst. Especially with this add-on.

Cannot believe how much worse he was on the PTB gameplay. I am happy with how he is right now though.
Yeah, PTB Trickster and his release version were pretty weak.
But then again, most things around tgat tine were not good to begin with.

Please god no. Lets not go back to that. Sure it had 1 time use but just like old DS, you had to deal with it 4 times a match. There was zero risk to saving someone with old BT. The only killers who could ignore it were people who disabled their TR or bubbas chainsaw. New BT is fine the way it is now.
https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/298308/borrowed-time-is-fine
If your unhooked and you run to me please explain how I am tunneling? If you unhook right in my face I almost always go for the unhooker because I suspect BT and I want more people injured. But if you have BT and you come to body block me, I'm going to count to 15, down you again and let you bleed out or waste your DS. You came to me, you weren't being tunneled.
Don't speak with such fear, mate. I don't have the power to make changes yet.
And yes, there was a possibility of dealing with it 4 times, which is still better than infinite uses.
People are complaining about Survivors protected by BT bodyblocking, aren't them? Well, this would fix it.
If your teammate is also protected by BT, there is no reason to block. And, if you don't hit them within 20 seconds (and the survivor is fully healed), you aren't even going to see it.

@Sonzaishinai said:
It's easy to make a patch look good on paper. It could easilly be the worst patch after playtesting.
It was a joke. Let's not treat it more then it was
Agreed.
You know I am all in for the community taking the lead, but some of those changes simply wouldn't work.
-
I think BT should be reverted to one of its old versions which protected both the unhooker and the rescued survivor, but could only be used once per match.
I think it is a fair trade. It makes the perk even more effective against camping, as it originally was, but you have to be strategic about it since you can only use once.
For those who would like to see:
This is what BT should be, imho.

Certain killers would have to be nerfed if SWF was thrown away.
We can imagine how that would end.
-
I definitely will not.
-
I just want this from DH:
"After the Dash, you cannot interact with Pallets or Windows for 5 seconds."
And done!
Now you can use it to dodge a hit, as it should.
But using it for distance? In your dreams.

You think 4 people knowing the killers every move with synergised perks and maximum gen efficiency in a game balanced around people standing in a corner picking their nose for a while is fun for the killer?
Hmm🤔
The complaints are not aimed at the "i have friends" strawman, they are aimed at bhvr pretending SWF doesn't exist and not toning it down or bring solo players up at a base level NOT THROUGH PERKS!
Nothing can be done, my friend.
Touching SWF would result in either:
1- A massive blow to the playerbase.
2- Countless issues with balance.
BHVR, or any company for that matter, touching one of the things that REALLY keep they going is borderline impossible.
-
At this point, accepting that SWF will always be there is way better than to keep complaining about it.
-
Yeah, her appearance and style
-
I think her visuals are amazing to the point of actually fitting in DBD...

And it would probably solve OP's problem, which is a plus.
-
Whatever the issue is, you should really stop this generalization.
It is something which I cannot stand, and it is easy to understand why: it is downright unrealistic to think that every single killer main out there actively wants to force every survivor main to leave the game.
Please stop putting it that way.

I'm doing solo Q, so I wouldnt really consider it a meme. I'm using resilience, iron will and dead hard with it.
Also I hope I'm not considered "easy prey" since I'm on crossplay off pc and its mostly nurses and blights, and have been escaping/dying 50/50 I'd say.
Well, then I don't know what it is.
Maybe the killer was angry because of another match and took it out on you?
-
As far as I know, No Mither is either considered a meme or an easy prey.
Toxic? Never seen that.
-
May she rest in piece, then.
-
No killer was as fun for me as Old Freddy was.
-
Hell nah mate.
Freddy's rework was one of the worst and most devastating things BHVR has ever done with this game.
It straight up removed a very interesting killer without taking his players into consideration, leaving Old Freddy mains, such as myself, with nothing.
We don't need a round 2 of that.

I mean, he's definitely the premier example of a recent release whose power is only somewhat helpful in chases but compensates in strong map pressure... but the ability to keep that map pressure going got super nerfed.
Definitely not sending a good sign for getting non-1v1 focused killers going forward.

That's fine if you feel that way. But that's not what the devs hear from all the feedback.
Pinhead got complained about that if he built around controlling the box he was capable of preventing gens get done therefore he got nerfed.
Deathslinger got complained about because if a Slinger player got good enough at the killer they could shut down most loops and therefore he got nerfed.
It's a trend at this point that any time a killer has something strong going for them, it's "unfun". And it's honestly why I've played far more survivor this year.
Ah, I now I can't really reply because you chose Pinhead as the example.
I never faced this killer. Not even once.
Left the game way before his reveal.

If you chase a survivor that's good enough to run you for more than 30 seconds without getting hit, it's your lack of skill that is costing you the win. Your lack of skill in the chase and the lack of game sense to know you're outclassed and to go find a weaker target. Anyone can hold M1 and do a gen. Not everyone can run a killer for any length of time.
Just admit that you want survivor skill out of the equation entirely. It shouldn't matter what we do or how. We should just jump on hooks because you picked killer. That's exactly what you say and what you and everyone else on this extremely biased forum ever want. None of you actually care about beating your opponent. You want it handed to you.
You need to stop this generalization.
It is not only disrespectful, but downright childish.
-
@Crowman said:

Both get complained about. Survivors basically don't want killers who can control gens or have an advantage in chase. Which then leaves killer with nothing and then wonder why camping and tunneling are getting more popular.
Imma keep it real with u, chief.
I definitely prefer a killer who can control gens than a killer that has an advantage in chase.
At least one of them I can loop.
-

But the actual post is the complete opposite.
-
@RainehDaze said:

It can't and pseudo-infinites do eventually get addressed (sometimes), which is the clue that it's not meant to be possible. But every Killer with some good 1v1 power gets this same response of not allowing for being outplayed like you're supposed to be able to drag it on indefinitely.
Survivors are not supposed to infinitely keep a killer at bay, but killers are not supposed to force survivors to hold W.
Pallet Looping is a huge aspect in DBD and it should stay that way.
-
@RainehDaze said:
https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/2676332#Comment_2676332
Except, this game is asymmetrical.
Which is the key problem here.
You can't make take your 1v4 game and balance it for perfectly equal 1v1 moments. The instant you finish doing that, you've decided that the 1 side should lose and the teamwork side of the 4 isn't important.
And that's why I said infinitely outplaying. If you want to keep the power imbalance, and make sure it's a team effort not a solo one, then there should be an inevitable loss. Buying a lot of time is an option, being able to clearly win each time is not.
Pallet Looping cannot infinitely keep a killer at bay, tho.
Even Blood Lodge, once nicknamed "pallet town" couldn't do that.
-
@Gamedozer7 said:

It has a limited range to keep it in check. Losing LoS with IW is huge if there's grass around you can't see blood or if its really dark it is hard to spot. Scratch marks are very unreliable the do weird stuff and you can stop running and you don't make any of them Scratch marks more let you know someone is here they are not good for direction as much. Tinkerer is the close perk to IW in strength and how it works but Tinkerer you can jump on two separate gens and the killer can't defend both. Its also really only as strong as IW if paired with ruin now that I think about it.
Even if the IW stops running, all you have to do is look around the spot where the Scratch Marks stopped and you will, most likely, find them. As for blood, the low quality grass of downgraded maps do not make them difficult to see, imo.
And hey, Survivors can jump on 2 different gens to win against Tinkerer, just like killers can kill IW users. This perk doesn't make them invincible.
-
@Aven_Fallen said:
https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/2676296#Comment_2676296
Me neither. But if the Killer is too bad to stop that, nothing can really be done. I mean, I can try to go into chases, but then the Killer might think that they get bullied. Because Killers also dont enjoy when Survivors are not on Gens but want to be chased.
In general, Killers dont enjoy Survivors unless they are on the Hook.
When it comes to "hardcamping" players, the motivation behind that might just be that they want to reduce the fun for the other side. Which is at least some form of motivation, but it will not be the own fun. (Unless someone is a sadist)
As much as I agree with you on the topic that is being discussed, you REALLY should stop this generalization.
-
@Gamedozer7 said:

There's alot of places that you can't see the blood, scratch marks are extremely inaccurate. I guarantee they take the BP off bbq almost no one would use it. You can counter bbq by been with 40m of the hook,hiding in lockers, or use gens to block it. You also have to hook someone to use out of bbq IW is equip and work with a strong effect.
For the record I don't think its OP but overturned.
I disagree with that, tbh. Scratch Marks have their weird moments, but you can definitely still use them for tracking, and same goes for blood. As long as you are used to it, obviously.
As for BBQ, that was just an example. You could say the same for something like A Nurse's calling, for example, which is also just equip and use. And that is fine, btw. Not everything has to have a requirement or risk.
I would prefer if IW remained unchanged, tbh.

My problem with Iron Will isn’t about the tracking part of it. I think it’s a fine perk when it’s used for stealth purposes and that’s what it should be based around, nothing else. When it becomes a chase perk, that’s when I have beef with it. It essentially has the same problem that old Spirit had - lack of feedback. You just can’t really make a mindgame or read when Iron Will comes into play and survivors break LoS forcing the killer to guess.
If they made it where it is primarily a stealth perk, I would never complain about the perk again.
I think you can midngame someone with Iron Will. It is just that Spirit can't.
-
@Gamedozer7 said:
https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/2675670#Comment_2675670
The problem is it completely removes any sound the survivor makes and that makes it impossible to track when los is lost on some maps. There is no risk to using the perk and all you have to do to activate it is equip it and get hit. There is also a bug that makes them completely silent on the ground
You can still track them through pools of blood and scratch marks, though. And not every perk needs to present a risk. BBQ presents no risk to the killer and is still widely used, even by people that are not desperate for BPs.
And hold on a second, that bug is still in the game? Heck, I remember it from 2019!

I mean, she is unfun to go against. No reason to use those: "".
Just the way BHVR creates Killers so that the only thing you can do is to hold W, which is boring.
That last sentence is probably one of the three things you and I agree on.
Of course that doesn't mean the Artist has to be nerfed, but killers that force you to hold W are usually extremely unfun indeed.
I am from a time, and you probably are too, when the majority of the killer cast could be looped in the regular manner.
And I would've liked if things had stayed that way.

A relic from better days, that is what it truly is.

Freddy and Quentin.
Except for a small period of time in 2019 when he got reworked, I've played Freddy almost exclusively ever since I first started playing DBD, back in 2018.
And Quentin was a must for someone who really loved the 2010 ANOES Remake.

Please, change that title.

It is perfectly possible to track a Survivor with IW. It doesn't give you any otherworldly advantages, even if the killer you're playing against is not a good tracker.
