Yes, then itll be less overwhelming
I am usually all in for reversions, but I think IW is fine as it is.

Change iron will to deactivate when running
So, basically...
A slightly different version of this?

Blood Warden just keeps them there for 60 seconds during which they just go hide in a locker and only works if you hook someone after the gates are open. That's why it isn't meta - if it was good, it'd get used more.
It used to be a bit better before, when 99ing doors was not a thing. At least you were pretty much guaranteed to get some value out of it, if you played your cards right.
-
Then why everyone is saying they don't see Spirit anymore?
-
Your actions are very honorable, mate.

No, they should change it. Hit protection is a hit protection. It doesn't matter if it's not a basic attack!
I never said they shouldn't. All I am saying is that touching Mettle of Man is extremely difficult because that perk can easily become overpowered, as it actually once was.
-
Honestly, I don't think Badham is as bad as most people say, or at least it didn't use to be. Though its OG version (when there was just one, that is important) is my second-favorite map in the game, so I am a little biased.
As for Haddonfield, I understand it is difficult when Survivors send you there, but...If I was playing in the current state of things, I would definitely take it over RPD or The Game.
-
Due to its original version being one of the most overpowered perks in the game's history, MoM is difficult to change.
-
In the current state of things?
I would use either Swamp or Midwich.

If only I was around to experience both.
You missed way too many good things, my friend.
I am sorry.
-
You probably won't see them often anymore, which is something I definitely understand.
Old Freddy mains, like me, and Old Billy mains are brothers:

I am saddened by the fact I didn't have a good enough pc to get dbd back when it was like that. I would've shet myself.
Yeah, DBD has seen better, golden days.
I wasn't here for everything, but I am glad for what I did manage to experience.

Agreed.
But hey. Here. Have some bloodpoints.
Yep, that is usually what happens.
-
Well...I have thought about that A LOT.
Actually, I've done more than that. I have a list of notes, presentations and archives detailing what I would consider a "perfect DBD". If I tried to make an actual, complete Forum post about it, it would most likely be a colossal wall of texts and pictures that not everyone would be willing to read.
However, if I had to summarize it in a few sentences, I would say my perfect DBD would be a combination of the best things DBD ever had to offer.
From animations:
To maps and ambience:
And powers:
I would mix everything I ever loved about this game to create a Perfect DBD.

Unlucky lad lol I think I have some splinter on my Myers. I gave him max perks without prestiging so I'm pretty sure he still has them.
My Meg I'm pretty sure is either on page 7 or about to be of the offerings screen lol
Wish I had that too.
-
The best of them all, obviously.
-
@CashelP14 said:
I have quite a lot of these on my Meg. Every few months if I'm trying to impress someone I'll just use one lol
Lucky.
I don't have a single one of those old map offerings and I was dumb enough to lose my last Splinter :(
-
S Tiers sounds a bit too much, imho...I think she reaches A Tier, at best.

Nowadays, literally 0.
Back in the good ole days...way more than I can count.

Are there any changes at all that you like?
Legion and Lightborn.
Old Legion was downright painful and Lightborn should have always granted full immunity to flashlights.

Nah, map offerings are already way too many there.
they should bring back moonlight offerings though.
"they should bring back moonlight offerings though."
Here is something you and I definitely agree on.
-
I would still have my last remaining Splinter, IF I hadn't been an idiot and prestiged Freddy all the way back then.
I really miss you, random Glass Splinter from Freddy's Bloodweb.

Glad I understood it correctly.

One of the countless reasons why SBMM should have never been implemented.
Now, the killer variety on the old Red Ranks (which was really bad sometimes) is now even worse.

Just everything what is wrong with this Forum:
Killer player plays ONE (in numbers: 1) game with a Killer they are learning, loses this game and rushes to the Forums to complain.
But said Killer player does not arrive at the Forums when they stomp a few Survivors, because this is how it should be. But losing is a nono.
I think it wasn't his defeat that motivated him to write this.
It was the unnecessary toxicity which, lets be honest, mostly comes from the Survivor sided.
-
Ok, this isn't exactly how it used to look like...
BUT
It is an improvement.
-
Self-Care, Borrowed Time, Adrenaline and Iron Will was basically my personal Survivor build for a very long time.
Sometimes I would also DS, Sprint Burst and even Vigil too.
And the fact that this thread is from 2019 makes it even better, because it was around the time I got all the perks I needed for this build.
-
"Transparency" is, unfortunately, a rare sight around here.
-
Not sure if here is the right place to ask about this, but I think you should give it a try.
There is always someone who is interested.
However, I would change the character if I were you. DBD has better options to offer.
-
Ok, now I am really curious...
What was your assignment?

But, if you somehow enjoy those disgusting abominations, good for you.
these are the comments that annoy me. Like.. you can voice your opinion on liking everything from old DbD without talking down on people appreciating the (objectively) better graphics. Sure different atmosphere etc. i understand all that and I am partly with you. But.. I think you get what I mean.
I apologize if this comment came out as rude or aggressive. I assure you it was not my intention.
When discussing things we hate, sometimes we make poor choices of words.

I believe you, and you’re entitled to that of course. It just seems strangely superficial to me. The game is and has always been so much more than graphics.
It is just that...it hurts, my friend, it really hurts.
It doesn't help that my favorite map was the first to get changed too...
From MMR to the new Boon perks...DBD has many issues that affect every single player.
But the reworked maps...that I cannot tolerate.

Out of curiosity, is there anything from the Realm Beyond that you like, or do you dislike every change it brought with it?
I dislike every change.
Aond honestly, "dislike" is too weak of a word for that feeling.

I mean the new graphics look better than the older ones but the old lighting and old fog is what makes me like the older maps. Honestly putting the old lighting and fog on the new maps would be really cool. As for survivor and killer model updates they should work on them a little more expect for Laurie, Doctor, and Trapper as they look way better.
Well, if you somehow prefer the new and disgusting graphics, more power to you.
At the very least, you don't have a bad time like I do.

I know your whole persona on this forum is nostalgia for what the game used to be, but are new graphics really the worst thing about dbd in your mind?
It is not a "persona", my friend. Those are my true, honest opinions. You can ask anyone who has talked to me outside of the Forums, if you wish to.
As for your question...Yes.
I am aware that DBD has countless other issues that need to be addressed, but the Realm Beyond hurts me more than any other.

You'd think someone of that opinion wouldn't have waded in to this thread to call out their disagreeing opinion.
Fair enough, though.
But I didn't call out the OP.
Unlike you.

Sure, but it was a direct response to your comment. You're saying enough damage is done, I'm pointing out that while some things got worse, some things got a lot better.
It's a public forum, my man, people are gonna weigh in on your statements.
Yes, I know.
All I am saying is that, when the topic is really subjective, sometimes it is unnecessary to call out disagreeing opinions.
-
@jesterkind said:
https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/2671212#Comment_2671212
Eh, it's a thread about wanting more Realm Beyond, so I think it's a pretty relevant interjection. More relevant than talking about how much you don't like them, anyway.
Correction:
You didn't really have to point that out to me, considering that it is a subjective topic.

Coldwind and The Game look immensely better, and while people do still complain about Coldwind, I generally have a much better time on it.
Balance can be argued but in my opinion the Realm Beyond has made maps look much, much nicer, in ways that actually affects gameplay; it used to be really hard to navigate The Game because the stairs weren't see through and because it was way too dark, and similarly, the corn is much less of a problem now that the map's been brightened up.
You didn't really need to point that out.
But, if you somehow enjoy those disgusting abominations, good for you.
At least you don't have a bad time, like I do.
@Mooks said:
https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/2670945#Comment_2670945
Springwood and The Game were extremely unbalanced before already though. For the Game it just switched from killer to survivor sided and for Springwood they actually made it somewhat more bearable.
looks are subjective so no need to argue here. But lightning and bad fog already happened and made them worse looking.
Well, it switched from killer sided to survivor sided in a game that has more survivor sided maps, so that is not good.
As for Springwood, this one is personal. Its OG version (back when there was just one of it) is my second-favorite map in this game and I never really had a problem with it as killer. Though I guess it depends on one's playstyle.
As for bad lighting and Fog, I think everyone universally agrees that they got worse.
However, as @Aven_Fallen once pointed out, that was actually before the reworks. The Realm Beyond kicked a dead horse on that matter (it was still better than the reworked versions, but you get the idea).
-
#########
-
Hopefully never.
Enough damage has been done already.
If they continue, one of three things will happen:
Option 1: The map will lose what makes them special (MacMillan and Coldwind)
Option 2: The map will become extremely ######### ugly (Yamaoka)
Option 3: The map will become extremely unbalanced (The Game)
Extra option 4: All of the above (Springwood)
It is time to stop. It really is.
-
But we already knew that.
Ever since the first test we knew this abomination was not going to work.
I don't know why it was implemented in the first place.
-
Stupid
BS
Matchmaking
Monster
-
I like her visuals.
Her power...eh, not so much.
I don't really enjoy killers that can't be looped in the regular manner.
-
Badham is not as bad as you are saying, or at least wasn't, but otherwise I agree.
Reworked Maps + Boon Totems + MMR seems to be making the killer experience extremely frustrating. Applying pressure, which was indeed a legitimate strategy that lasted for years, is impossible now.
I don't know what the heck is BHVR doing, but I don't like it.
-
You need to move Pig out of that Tier, mate.
And current Freddy is so pathetic that you might as well move him to.
-
Yeah, I am not sure if releasing another killer that can be countered by holding W was a good idea.
Don't get me wrong, I really liked the Artist. So much so that I would love to see her running around on an old map with a lot of Fog (Old Wretched Shop in particular, for some reason).
However...
Her power being countered by holding W, instead of regular loops merely adds more salt to the wound and makes the situation worse than it already is.
Holding W is pathetic. It cannot even be called a "strategy".
