Well GeneralIV that is in character for freddy lol
Still not exactly pleasant to read someone wish for your death.

Lovely.
Someone once told me to burn alive.
Endgame chat is just not worth reading anymore. The good ole' days of "gg" seem to be long gone by now.
Just report them and move on. It is the best thing you can do.

I thought things were put in motion to have you take over the development of DBD?
What is your plan to aid us poor consolers, in particular our long suffering Switch cousins?
Pulsar would take that mission.
No one else is better suited for such a task.

You are not wrong there. They did a superb job with Demigorgan.
Yeah, BHVR knows how to work with licensed content, it is just that recent examples are kinda...bad.
-
SWF is an unsolvable problem. There is nothing that can be done to it directly that would not severely affect the playerbase or straight up kill the game.

I agree with you, we're on the same page
But that's also why I don't think it's fair for you to criticiise @GeneralV for it. The people who came out/are still making threads crying about the masks or making whataboutisms/being ignorant about it deserve criticism 100% but that's not what happened here
I don't wanna derail this thread anymore but thank you for your time regardless. Thank you for being civil with me about this
Thank you.

oh look the forum is full of people that don't think things that are racist is bad.
They literally made bubbas face under the mask darker than his default skin, it was far more than just a mask.
That is something that fellow Forum member Mooks brought my attention to and it had to be fixed, and I never once stated otherwise.
Now, will you please cease? My opinions and views are clear, and I do not appreciate what you are doing.
I ask you to stop.

You even voted "no" on it being offensive despite black people being offended by it, but sure punish people for spamming the ctrl button because it's 'annoying'.
I presume this is what you mean:
I voted "No" because I don't think the cosmetic by itself was offensive. It was a nod to the original movie, and a unique kind of unlockable.
What was disgusting and inexcusable was people using it to be racist and attack others based on their skin color. These people are vile and had to go, but not the cosmetic itself.
Again, do not twist my word and opinions.

I do find it funny how you state that blackface bubba was fine but want people punished for spamming ctrl or hitting survivors on hook, lmao.
Do not twist my words.
The cosmetic itself was fine, the problem was horrible people using it for racism. Those people had to be banned ASAP.
The situation had to be dealt with. BHVR merely chose the wrong approach.
-
People who do things with the sole purpose of annoying the other side, without being provoked first, do not deserve to play the game.
But there is no way such thing would ever work properly.
-
The very, VERY first DS was definitely the most overpowered.
Everything that came after that, except MoM, was at the very least possible to deal with.
-
I sincerely hope so.
That might even bring me back to the Fog.
-
Not by itself, but it clearly has an extreme potential to be broken.
-
Love is in the air!
-
That map is just painful. It is golden for RE, but definitely not made for DBD.

By the Entity, this title scared me. For a moment, I thought you were going to talk about one of my worst nightmares. THE most dreadful, broken, and unfair Legion build that ever existed. Infinite Mending Legion rings a bell, doesn't it?
As for the Thana + Ruin combo, it is not that bad. Legion is not a very strong killer, and this combo alone can't hold the gens forever.
Hey there, my past self.

You pay for some cosmetics and some cosmetics are better than the Prestige thinks
Fair point.

Why not just use the Prestige cosmetics?

Well when they have the data, the numbers, the facts, that they do then their perception will understandably be different
I doubt that.
Give me the numbers, and I will reach the same conclusion.

They might not agree that he's ruined though.
I'm just trying to be realistic here.
Then they are unfit to handle the game.
To see that those killers are ruined doesn't take much.
-
I still haven't seen this "Scourge Hooks" in-game and have no idea what they do, but they indeed seem pretty popular.
At least from what I've heard around here.
-
Eh, I was actually pretty happy with both sides when I hit my 1k hours.
Things were still good back then.

I think it's possible to tweak the hitbox slightly without completely breaking her
I don't think the current one is perfect by any stretch but if it's fine as is, focus on other killers.
Besides, BHVR already made changes to her and I don't think they're willing to mess with the most popular killer in the game at the moment.
It should be possible in general, but definitely not possible for BHVR.

I believe he's referring to a small period of time where the devs made the huntress hatchet hitbox actually match the hatchet model itself rather than the beach-ball type hitbox it has now
From what I've seen ppl HATED it with a passion and got it reverted
"Hated" is an understatement in this case.
-
@gendoss said:
https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/2795048#Comment_2795048
That sounds more like a technical issue on the devs part than the fact that good hitboxes just don't work. That doesn't make any sense.
Nope, that was a change directly applied to her Hatchet hitboxes. You can look it up if you so desire.
Huntress must be like the way she currently is, or she will be the worst killer in the game.
There is a reason that change was reverted so quickly.
-
@gendoss said:
https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/2795041#Comment_2795041
So if her hatchets work like they should they actually wouldn't work at all...?
Precisely.
Patch 2.2.0 tried and it was a colossal failure. Her hatchets couldn't hit a damn thing, Huntresses getting bullied left and right.
The very next patch reverted the change due to how terrible it was.
-
That is a thing not worth complaining about.
Huntress will either work like that or she won't work at all, as a certain experience in the past confirms.

They are the issues that BHVR had with freddy. Same with the deathslinger scope change, they changed it based on their design intuition and not community feedback. That's why i think it's unlikely they will bring back old freddy completely.
And look at his ruined state now.
Same with Billy, by the way.
They cannot keep ruining their own characters forever. Eventually they will have to do better, and when they do, my precious killer will come back.
-
She caught me eventually, but yes, it was funny.
-
You will have to wait for that.
-
I don't really know about that.
I mean, I haven't played this game since...I don't even remember, tbh. My MMR levels should be the absolute lowest of the low.
I doubt that will give me "fun" trials if I were to boot up the game right now.
-
I did something like that on Hawkins, a long time ago.
To this day, I am still surprised it worked.

Surely the question should be: What kind of parent allows their 6 year old to play a horror game like DbD?
Every person deals with things differently, and that does include children.
For some of them, DBD is definitely not scary.

I demand ownership of the game so I can finally fix this mess.

A complete new rework is about the last thing they should do.
Most of ancient Freddies power is easilly fixed by slapping incapacitated during period of falling asleep on the survivors.
This.
You know I love you, right? <3
-
@[Deleted User] said:
The problem is that they changed freddy because waiting 7 seconds to hit people was frustrating, and he was frustrating for new players because of his interaction debuff and invisibility. Bringing old freddy back would bring these issues back so i don't see it a realistic outcome.
Personally what i think they should do is give him a complete add-on pass or another rework. If his add-ons did more things it would make playing as him and against him more interesting. Because as it stands right now his add-ons really don't feel like they do much.
Those are not the issues.
7 seconds of Transition was perfectly fine, and his mechanics were not problematic to new players. I speak with unrivaled experience on this matter.
What was an issue was being unable to interact with survivors during the Transition, which could led to situations where people would finish a gen or rescue a survivor right in front of you. While the latter had the potential to backfire, the former did not. This can easily be solved by the Incapacitated Effect that we now have in-game.
If BHVR decides to listen to us for a change, then his return is a very realistic outcome.

They do carry over though so assuming DBD isn't dead by next year, the envelopes are reusable next lunar event
I still have Pustula Petals in stock, now that I think about it.
-
@Sonzaishinai said:
The problem lies a bit that it would be kinda hypocritical to change him back now.
People are upset a killer they enjoyed was deleted. But if they just revert the changes then people who are enjoying current Freddy will also get upset that their killer got deleted.
So to be fair they would have to be both in the game. I don't see how they could do that. Outside of slapping a tweaked version of freddy's old power to another killer
It is possible to have both as a toggle option between the old and new power. This was my suggestion in the past, as I didn't want new Freddy mains to go through what I had to endure.
And such idea could prevent that. We know for certain that BHVR still has Old Freddy's files, so they could very easily do that. My suggestion was ignored, obviously, but the idea was there.
But now...I doubt anyone would really care if his current power was gone for good. I haven't seen a fellow Freddy player in ages.
Maybe there are one or two souls in the Fog who would dislike the change. And that might sound bad, I know. But, at this point, I am way to have complaints about his possible return, however flawed it may be.

Devs, Devs, burning bright,
In the forests of the night;
What immortal hand or eye,
Could break thy terrible will?
That question of yours is exactly what I have been asking for the past 2 years.
No one wants him back more than I do, but it is difficult to keep saying something when your voice always fall on deaf ears.

People will always come to the forums to vent. That's just a rule of humanity at this point.
It's important to realise that the forums are a miniscule part of the community. They do not reprisant the playerbase on a whole.
Hell a lot of the people don't even play the game anymore but still choose to bathe in the negativity here.
Ofcourse they are going to think the game is bad when they read people's vents every single day and never are able to experience the good things the game offers
"Hell a lot of the people don't even play the game anymore but still choose to bathe in the negativity here."
Just realized this is exactly what I do :)

This game its just unabalced surv-side and communty is the most toxic i never seen.

Necessity. Which is exactly what I said there.
