I want the old old cow tree back. 😏
I already know you will like this idea.
The longer one, you mean?

That made you feel like you had counterplay. Now it is too easy for killers because you don't have to mindgame. Set a dire crow and cause the survivor to only do one thing.
I suppose Trapper couldn't be looped back then but look how much he has been buffed and maps nerfed. Less good loops, yet he has even more traps to use. His traps are also way darker than they used to be (free tar bottle). Way too many buffs, yet nothing to compensate for them.
Untrapped areas could be looped, I suppose, as long as you stayed alert. When I started, Nurse, Spirit and Legion were the ones you had to keep in mind when it came to looping.
Now...now there is way too much of those and I don't like that at all.

I like most old stuff in dbd as well (old maps, animations, billy and freddy from the top of my head) but i wouldn’t say everything about old dbd was good. Infinites, 5 blink nurse, Legion, Spirit… big yikes :x
I have a few exceptions myself, as any old player would have, but it just happens that Nurse is not one of them.
-
The word "old" is enough for me.
Have an upvote and support.

yeah, playing scooby doo simulator is always a blast as killer. Might as well change the chase music to yackety sax while we're at it.
I play killer too and prefer regular looping, mate.
People have different opinions.
-
@Sluzzy said:
I don't know about that. All I see are deadzones.
Most survivor friendly loops have all been removed. Killers can still swing through pallets and vaults to make contact. Half of the entire killer roster don't even care about pallets - Artist to name one. They are completely devoid of any use.
"Half of the entire killer roster don't even care about pallets"
That is something I really dislike. I am from a time, and I believe you are too, when the absolute majority of the killer roster could be looped in the regular manner.
And I would've liked if it had stayed that way.

Dying Light is...kinda messed up.
By the time you get the effect its original version provided, it doesn't matter anymore.

This is probably a nostalgic read for people who have been here for a while.
In a weird way...it is.

My favorite part of DBD is the fact that it was once the best game I've ever played, and it made Freddy Krueger its most well-designed killer...for one week.
My least favorite part of DBD are the reworked maps. Models and powers are devastating to lose, but the reworked maps make me genuinely sick to my stomach.

Not this again...
IT. IS. THE. SAME. LUNGE.

Nice!
I remember the Glass Splinters. How you could get Splinters of killers you already owned. Good times!
They should bring them back for new players. Or maybe something similar, which would make it easier to choose the next killer before buying. Buuuut i´m getting off topic.
I actually already had Pig when I got my Glass Splinter. But I will never forgive myself for losing it.
And yes, they should bring them back, but not just for new players. I would stockpile the ######### out of them.
-
No problem! You know how I feel about the old days.
Unfortunately:
That box is all I have left. I haven't leveled Dwight up since 2018, and I never will. If that is the only treasure I have left, then I will keep it forever.
I would still have my very last Splinter, but I was stupid enough to prestige the character who had it. Didn't realize my mistake until it was far too late.
I miss you, random Glass Splinter from Freddy's Bloodweb.
-
Worthy of respect.

Lmao I’m hurt by seeing my babe Claire at the bottom. But good list🔥
Welcome to my world. You have no idea how many times I saw Freddy at the bottom of tier list, regardless of the metric.
Many of those were deserving, but there were many which were not.

For my list to work, please imagine that model reworks do not exist:

I honestly wish more people understood this. I've had survivors accuse me of being toxic and start being toxic in game when I got my first hook at 1 or 2 gens and I want to secure a kill by tunneling because I won't otherwise.
Same.

Exactly this.
Tunneling/camping to try and redeem the match is fine, doing so at the start of the match or when there's no sign that you're losing isn't "strategy", you're just being a tool
I am glad to see that people agree!
-
I like Old Bubbas.
Hope that count.
-
I think tunneling can be split in two.
Tunneling because you have to: not toxic.
Tunneling because you want to: toxic.

I believe you, I too miss a LOT old dbd even if it was more unhealthy/unbalanced it was million times more fun, back when I started dbd I remember being hooked for hours, so much that I asked for early vacations at work (they did gave 'em to me) played dbd for like 15h a day for 2 weeks, now I can't even play dbd for 1 hour without being like "this again, this is not fun, why would I run bad perks"
Amazing...every word you just said perfectly represents what I feel.

That’s how I feel. I like collecting them all. I will never prestige certain characters because they have the collection on them. I also dislike when they reuse an old offering for an updated event because it cuts out a piece of my collection.
I refuse to level up my Dwight because I still have a Winter Gift in his Bloodweb.

I miss 2018/2019 dbd.
So do I. More than anyone else.
-
On the lower end, that is for sure.
I've played a couple of killer trials after coming back, since it was the killer experience that actually made me fall in love with this game, back in 2018.
And let me tell you...it was a mistake.
I am getting paired with people that are way better than me, or at the very least, they are more used to the current game than I am.
Playing as stupid reworked Freddy against opponents that you clearly cannot beat...you can imagine how that is going.
EDIT: Never mind.

Weirdly enough, it proved to be useful once on Haddonfied where i positioned Spirit’s body right below a window outside a house and phased upstairs then killer instinct went off and i immediately returned back to the husk ( was running wakizashi saya ) and the player instantly dc’ed 😂😂 i bet i gave them a scare.
i wish it would work more often.
This sounds like a fun play, ngl.
But it is way too situational, unfortunately.

When I made my first Freddy concept, I wanted his Ultra Rare add-ons to be a least a bit similar to his current power, so that new Freddy mains would not go through what I had to endure.
I eventually abandoned the idea for RPB (not for Black Box tho), but here is the remnant of that concept:
Red Paint Brush:
-Tremendously decreases The Nightmare's Terror Radius.
-Tremendously reduces Dream Transition time.
Time to fall asleep is reduced by 2 seconds.
-Survivors suffer from a Hindered penalty during the Dream Transition
“Don’t be afraid. I can make it the way it was... Just the way you liked it” -Freddy Krueger
Black Box:
-Broken pallets are replaced by Dream Pallets
-Non-sleeping survivors cannot see or interact with Dream Pallets
“I can sleep… I just don’t want to” -Dean Russell
Hindered like snares and fake pallets like...well, fake pallets.
-
You don't.
That add-on is just not worth using.
-
As much as I would like the idea of a FNAF Chapter, the current licensed content that we have is enough for me.
I just don't like the way it was handled.

Yeah I mean when survivors burn coldwind they're usually trying to get rotten fields or cowshed
I think Thompson house was really bad at one point pre-rework, same with Abbatoir and what people used to call the 'Matt Walker' windows. I think they got nerfed before the rework though.
Abattoir had a nasty window on its main building and some people used to have problems with the number of pallets and tiles on Thompson's House (which, to be perfectly honest with ya, was not as bad as some people made it out to be), but both of those got changed way before that atrocious reworked dropped.

Worst 6000 shards using ever. You're supposed to use those shards for him not to have pants.
I used mine to buy Mikaela, and I think it was a good idea.
BHVR took Quentin and Claudette away from me. It is only fair that they give me a new character in return.

Coldwind got better overall, like the maps are still terrible don't get me wrong. Cowshed is still an unholy abomination
But it's not as bad as pre-rework. I don't mind Thompson house, Abbatoir or Torment Creek that much.
Not to me. And Cowshed will always be an abomination, regardless of what happens.
None of those maps you've mentioned have ever bothered me, to be honest. Especially Torment Creek, as it was the first map I've ever played on as killer, back in 2018.
-
Yes, they unfortunately still do.
-
In terms of visuals, I am okay-ish with the map. I just think it is way too bright.
A Moonlight offering could have fixed that, but you know how it goes...
And by the Entity, that map sucks for killers. It is decent for Survivors, but it absolutely sucks for killer.

To be fair all the farm, MacMillan and auto heaven maps are fair they added breakable walls but not like at every corner just at the main building and it doesn't seem as bad that's how you make a good rework.
But those maps were already fair to begin with.
Haddonfield was never fair, and we all know it is going to get worse. If it doesn't, then all of us can proudly say that we we've witnessed a miracle.
-
Believe it or not, I got mine.
-
Worse than the previous version, as all reworked maps are.
If Chapel, once the most balanced map in the game, is now extremely painful to play on...then Haddonfield will become a monster.
