People are angry because of unjustified removal of the masks, people are angry because of 6000 shards not arriving on time (some people are still waiting for them), people are angry about the general state of the game and are tired of getting BHVR'd and Patrick'd constantly. The wave of facecamping Bubbas is the wrath of the people.
Is it bad that I actually agree with this? Except for people using Bubba as a protest, but still, everything else is accurate.
-
Believe it or not, it used to be a masterpiece.
-
That map is terrible alright, but straight up removing it is way too extreme.

Oh, alright, I understand.
That...was way more civil than the answer I was expecting. Some people are very adamant on disagreeing with me in the worst possible way.
Thanks mate, you're really kind :)

Why not? I think they were pretty good.
I don't, but to each their own.

Hopefully not.

Uuuuhhhh... I meant it more as an offhand jab, sorry if you got upset about that one. Also title just said "How to Trigger the Entire DBD Community" and I just went for low hanging fruit.
That aside, you got some kind of alarm system that cues you in on dudes trash talking your homie? I may not always agree with you but the dedication is admirable.
Don't worry about it, no offence taken.
Just please mention me when you wish to talk instead of...this. I've dealt with enough already.
As for your question, whenever my killer is mentioned I will be there. Sometimes the helping hand of a friend is needed, but I will always make it.
I am more dedicated to Old Freddy than anyone ever was and ever will be.
-
If you wanted to get my attention, there are better and more friendly ways to do it. Certainly ones that do not involve straight up insulting something I hold close to my heart.
Now, what is it that you want to discuss?

EGC exists purely to deal with the fact that people were doing things to draw games out well passed the point of being done in ways that were hurting the play experience. At that time it was not uncommon for survivors trying to turn their win into a painfully long game of hide and seek rather than just leaving the game or for a killer to bodyblock a survivor in a corner till they just had no choice but to DC.
It is probably one of the few times the devs looked at a large scale issue and made a call that properly solved it. Now, if you found long protracted hatch standoffs fun I can see why you'd dislike it, but honestly it was barely a standoff as hatch grab was incredibly difficult so survivor would just get out anyway.
And this is exactly why this thread is specifically called "hot takes".
-
- EGC was a completely unnecessary addition to the game and should be removed as soon as possible.
- Doctor's rework is easily placed among the worst changes DBD has ever seen.
-
The game is not completely ruined yet, just inclined towards an extremely wrong direction.
DBD used to be a masterpiece back in the golden days, and kings do not easily lose their royalty.
-
Because it is a Hex.

When is Freddy getting a theme?
I don't mind if he never gets one.
I like the OG themes.

All Hallows' Eve. Period.

Was is busted before?
Nope, it was just that some people used to complain about BBQ back in the day.
Hadn't seen that in a while.
-
BBQ OP?
This is a nostalgic complaint.
-
MMR sucks.
-
Freddy's current state drives me insane.

Yeah, I wish Remember Me could get 6 stacks again too. I was surprised they didn't buff the duration, to be honest. The nerf doesn't make sense considering they've introduced No Way Out. The perk got Power Crept and it's really annoying.
This.

Why was Freddy reworked?
I..don't know.
My best guess: complaints from people who didn't take the time to learn him and general lack of understanding from the devs.

Was there day 1 of Freddies release....man I wish they would bring him back :/
Then you have seen the actual golden days!
I might be a bit jealous now...
And I share that feeling. I promise you I am doing my absolute best to bring him back.

Yeah i like Freddy ๐ he is neat.
As everyone should.
Or at least those who were in the Fog before July of 2019 should. Those who have seen better days.

@[Deleted User] said:
They should buff it again because it's very outclassed by No Way Out.

While I like it better than RPD, I dislike it because I feel homeless every time I'm there. It's just barren with no teeny tiny bushes.
I would agree with you, but I hardly play Claudette anymore since the devs ruined her. I am no longer worthy of the Bush.
But... Claudette main from 2018 to 2021? Hell of a ride.
As for the map itself, I just think it is WAY too bright.
-
They only removed the basic attack requirement, that is hardly a buff.
Remember Me must be reverted back to 30 seconds. That nerf was never logical or reasonable.

I am convinced.

What I thought for the past 3 years.
It simply cannot be.
-
Impossible.
-
And I wish MMR simply wasn't around.
-
If it was up to me, Freddy would be in a much better state by now.
-
Hello me from seven days ago.
-
I think Bubba's rework was a step in the wrong direction and firmly believe he could have been fixed by using a slightly different approach, but I don't think he really needs a nerf because of...turning.

The problem with this is drawing the line between want/need. It opens the doors for survivors to project their own presumptions onto the killer. I've lost count how many times I've had survivors tell me what I did as killer and why... despite the fact that I was the one playing killer and I know what I was doing and why!
This attitude doesn't put an end to survivors accusing killers of tunnelling for any/every reason, and that just promotes more toxicity.
In my last game I got accused of hard tunnelling... because I killed survivors 1-3 and didn't even hook survivor 4 (who went on to escape) because he kept avoiding me. These guys seemed to be of the opinion that the killer has to go round-robin and dish out hooks fairly, instead of going for the target right in front of them.
If you don't want to be tunnelled then:
a) Avoid the killer (there are more than enough perks to assist in doing this, so boohoo if you choose not to bring them)
b) Blame your team-mates for misplays if they unhook you unsafely, or refuse to take chase when they've got hooks to spare
Most seasoned survivors do know where to draw this line, or at least they used to.
I've seen many survivors in the post-game chat who understood or accepted that the killer had to tunnel on that particular situation. I even did it myself, back in the day.
-
I got it to work on Freddy long ago, but I don't think it is a good idea anymore.
-
My answer is no longer valid, but Freddy used to have a STACKED set of add-ons.
From making him essentially a better version of Mirror Myers, to full invisibility during the Dream Transition, having someone asleep from the very start. Increased range, increased movement speed, aura reveals during the Transition, shorter transitions, increased Dream World Slowdown, less chance of skill checks, and perhaps even more.
That, combined with a hell of an amazing power...oh, my friend, you were in for a ride!
It genuinely disheartens me to think that this isn't the case anymore.

@Kira4Evr said:
There's nothing wrong with Freddy's lunge? Or did I miss something?
There isn't, but Freddy's smaller character model makes it seem weird a few times, even though it is the same model. It can happen with Ghostface too.
Many people wrongly believed that Freddy has a bigger lunge than usual, which is simply not true, as the devs themselves confirmed it.
This complaint was very common back in the day.
-
Believe it or not, I've managed to get this perk to work a couple times. It requires the stars to align, but it feels good when you manage to do so.
@TheClownIsKing would have been proud.

And how would you classify those, legit just curious
Tunneling because you have to tunnel means that there was nothing else the killer could have done on that situation. If they don't tunnel, they will lose the match.
That is fine and understandable.
Tunneling because you want to means that the killer could have done something different on that situation without compromising their path to victory, but decided to tunnel out of spite or toxicity.
That I don't think it is fair.
-
I don't mind them. 3 Gen situations have been a part of the game for a very long time and I think it is perfectly reasonable that they existed.
I just miss that 3 Gen strategy that Old Doctor players did. Some of my most exhilarating trials involved them.
-
It is as I always say: just because you can change something, doesn't mean you should.
The Emblem system was not perfect, even I am forced to admit that and you know how much I value things from the past, but replacing it with a clearly flawed system was definitely a terrible idea.
Everyone who was around those atrocious test sessions called it. All BHVR had to do was listen.

Why tho? You can't do anything with it.
If it has old, GeneralV is sold.
I am the most old fashioned player the Fog has ever seen, and anything from the past is precious to me.

They should remove them imo, since they can't be used.
I also have some of them clogging my inventory.

Remove them? Hell naw, mate.
I want them.

I had a variety of killers, but they all faced camped and tunneled one person out the game each match. I hope you get better games though ):
That is terrible too :(
I wish the same for you, my friend. As unlikely as it seems, hopefully both of us will get better trials eventually.
-
The few games I played today were...Blight. After Blight. After Blight. After Blight.
I kid you not, excluding the Blight spam I've only seen 2 killers today: Deathslinger and Freddy, the latter was because I WAS the Freddy.
Not the best of days, if ya ask me.

On the contrary, I honestly have fun looping killers like nemesis or pyramid head. It's fun to greed pallets and watch them respect it with their power, it's like going against huntresses when they loop. I get the why people don't like looping against an artist though, not much counter play other than hold w.
You can loop Huntress if you know the hitbox limitations tho. I like going against her.
