I wouldn’t say it’s OP but it certainly promotes unhealthy gameplay.

You just need to cope.

I’ve only got 2 macro killers my whole life yet you got 15 in 40 games?

Nothing here is fine except your pfp.

Nurse should be a tier its own, nothing come close to her
Skill floor I agree. When you learn the basics though, there really isn’t that much to learn other than just knowing that first blinks are used to close gaps and second blinks are used to get a hit. Billy and Blight have waaaaay higher learning curves.
-
Plague should be at least A imo. The arc on her vomit is such a hard thing to master. Even the macro gameplay of knowing when to take your corrupt purge is a complicated strategy.

i noticed that good survivors will immediately do something when you start to phase so that your speed advantage can be countered if they're next to pallet or something. It's a lot of 50/50s though. It really depends, on some tiles it's in her favour because you can just react to the vault and in open field you mostly get free hits, but this goes for nearly every killer.
Yeah it’s just not easy. That all. She can still ######### on most groups.

I didn't like the way spirit was myself, but the nerf has killed her. She gives more info to the survivors in her power then what they give her and she is actually easier to deal with in her phase then out of it because the directional audio is so strong.
Not really. It’s not as easy to react to her as you think because her movement speed. Stand still mind game was the only basekit thing that needed to go so directional audio wasn’t necessary but it still didn’t kill her anyway.
-
I don’t consider IW a “hard counter” to Spirit, I just consider it a boring perk that promotes boring gameplay. It kind of forces you to play in one way and one way only, which is limited to short bursts. It’s fun using the audio in an attempt to make a prediction but IW just takes away that whole mechanic.
That being said, IW is still a very good counter to Spirit but it’s not unbeatable.

She is still fun, I just played her today, but it is so odd that the survivors got more info on you for free, then you with perks. She isn't unplayable, like some people try to put it, but I find the directional swooshing a bit too much.
On a related note, I want a directional thunderclap for boon totems.
I will admit that I don't think that she needed directional audio specifically, I think she would've bee fine with just some indicator she went into her power to remove standing still. I don't really mind the directional audio that much anyway but I do play her a lot so that helps.

Every time i attempt to play her i get 4x iron will -.-
she is dead to me until they revert iron will buff or delete both iw and stridor.
You have to play against IW users differently. You are kind of limited to short bursts which are just as effective as before her nerf.

At a certain point, there's no fun in playing a killer if they're not strong. Having to de-rank/de-MMR just to deviate slightly off the meta puts you in that mindset.
Strength != fun. Spirit is fun, strong or not, yet you’re only worried about winning every single game.

I mean, fun is subjective, but I would agree that she is one of the more interesting Killers to play and for me she was more fun to play after the Nerf, because it actually felt rewarding to outplay a Survivor.
And as I said, I am pretty sure that at some point we will see more Spirits, because she is still good. But not "I stand still and get free Hits"-good anymore.
I really hope I see her more.

@GoodBoyKaru said:
People realised that you had to have an ounce of skill as her when Ruin/Undying/Pop/Tinkerer Crow/Ring Blight was right there so they all migrated to continue thinking they're good at the game while the people that were actually good as Spirit in the first place stayed.
Notice how this is a consistent pattern, too. First we had Nurse, with her 4 blink no downside combo. She was hit, and they dropped like flies (and now she's finally had the bugs fixed, people still aren't playing her as much as they used to because she still takes effort now). Spirit was next, she got hit (not even hard) but everyone still cried nerf and moved to Freddy, who was substantially easier and only minorly weaker. He was hit next so, realising that Spirit still took no brain power when playing with the strongest things, they all went back to her, culminating in the IW change to Stridor and finally the overall Spirit nerf, meaning they all moved to Blight now. I'm sure if he ever gets hit, though, they'll realise that DCB/MDR exists as a combo and once more we'll be seeing the Rise Of The "Spirit Mains".
I think we should try to not mention the strength of MDR + DCB so more people don't use it.

"Barely impacted anything" is not entirely correct. She stopped being easy to play, but she is still one of the strongest Killers.
@Topic:
As @GoodBoyKaru mentioned it, this often happens if a Killer gets Nerfs. When Spirit first got nerfed (mainly her Add Ons and removal of Collision), you did not see any Spirits for a few weeks until people realized that she is still good.
I would guess that she will have a return at some point, because she is still a strong Killer, but now you have to actually outplay the Survivor. That being said, I have run into a Spirit lately who tried the Stand still-mindgame, I think someone did not get the Memo...
I mean true but she's still very fun yet people don't want to realize it.
-
@Exxodus21 said:
The Iron Will buff really hurt her. Add to it the directional phase sound and survivors have some major advantages over her.
They really need to undo the Iron Will buff because now it has exactly 0 counters.
Barely impacted me because I used Stridor in like 3 Spirit games since I started playing her.
-
She’s still an amazing and fun killer but everyone neglected her because of one nerf that barely impacted anything 😭😭😭

In the no add-on meta. It's more predictable now more than ever before. Sprint burst and Self-aware is the bane of a good spirit main.
Sprint Burst is good against every killer and who uses Sefl-Aware?

Alright I see your point. Most Spirits I see make me think she's B Tier but I feel like in your hands she could be A tier. She definitely still has a lot of potential and high skill ceiling.
Idk about her skill ceiling being super high but I think it’s high enough. Skill floor is no doubt a candidate for top 5 in the game though especially after the nerf, which I guess is why she can look like a lower tier for most.
Granted, I know how to play her and I feel she’s still top tier based off my experience but I don’t claim to be an absolute god with her. I’m sure many others can play her better than me (now no one will ever love her as much as I do but that’s beside the point).

Pre-nerf misreading while phasing was much less common especially with old Stridor and no directional sounds on the Survivor side. Much less risk involved, so the cooldown came into play less.
That’s why short bursts are effective. They are just as effective now as they were before the nerf.

I just feel that Spirit's Power is average because it has a pretty long forced cooldown and she's basically useless while its on cooldown at 110. What made her strong was having a much easier time getting the second hit once the Survivor was injured. Now she doesn't have that, so the risk to reward ratio is off. I just feel her margin for error is really thin nowadays. Iron Will is one of the most common perks at high level for a reason
Messing up a power usage on Spirit is much more punishing than any of the higher rated Killers and its probably the easiest its ever been to make mistakes on her because Survivors have more information than ever and you have less
It’s the same cooldown it was pre-nerf, nothing changed there.
-
You’ve taken a break and only had 3 matches. I don’t think that’s a big enough sample size to prove a killer’s strength.
-
Yeah him and Pig need hard nerfs as both are OP.

The Shadow Step, Circle of Healing, Iron Will with the Stridor nerfs cinematic universe
So you just assume that every survivor runs Iron Will? And even if they do they’re not unbeatable in the slightest. She’s 176% movement speed with good add ons and is still invisible. She may have reasonable counterplay, but putting her below all those other killers that don’t have the mobility and map pressure Spirit does just doesn’t make sense to me.
-
In what universe is Spirit B tier???

Latency giveth and latency taketh away. Sometimes I'll get a hit, think I downed someone - only to realize too late that I got BHVR'd and that Laurie is now teabagging me from half the map away. Sometimes I'll catch someone just as they are vaulting or dropping a pallet and they get mad.

Because gaming forum. People giving feedback are usually focused on the things they want changed, ergo: the things they hate. There isn't much point in talking about things you like, because these don't generally cause change.
But there are useful things to talk about in regards to the things you love. Like when I talk about Spirit, I try to help others get better with her, I suggest useful changes to her add ons/basekit and just overall try to spread the Spirit love.
-
Why does this forum always focus on the things they hate rather than the things they love?

Oh wow thank you I didn’t know that! I was having a lot of fun on her I’m new to the game I have just over 250 hours and it only started right after this update but luckily there’s nurse to fall back on but spirit is a whole lot of fun!
Oh man I love Spirit as well! She’s a lot of fun and is still very strong even after her last nerf!

This game should have other priorities other than DS.

You people keep acting like her hitboxes are part of her fundamental design when it’s just latency.

... play Plague? Seriously, this killer was made for this. Sure, she's got a bit of a learning curve, but comes with a fair and decent selection of add-ons, awesome skins, and more importantly, hard-counters the healing meta. Her add-on selection is especially nice, since she doesn't have any add-ons you're never going to use, and that's a big plus in my books.
Survivors either stay infected and broken (and still have 2 health states if they use DH, so nothing really changed), or they cleanse and give you a pretty strong power that can injure or down multiple survivors at once. I compare her to a much slower and shorter ranged huntress, but anyone who's played a projectile killer can probably adjust to the slower projectile speed just fine. You can arc your shots over obstacles / tiles and get some amazing downs, the black incense is spectacular, the prayer tablet meme add-on is actually viable and really strong with other infection duration / effectiveness add-ons, I don't see what's not to love here.
Corrupt intervention and infection duration add-ons are so good on her, just cover the non-corrupted gens in vomit, and you'll automatically know if someone touched one. You can do that with exit gates and totems too. Non-infected survivors don't want to always get healed by or rescue infected survivors, and if they do, then that's a win for you.
One downside is a lack of mobility, and big maps can really hurt, but I'm amazed I don't see more people playing plague with all the bellyaching that's going on around the healing meta.
So, if you're one of the many posters complaining about too much healing in the game, why not give Adiris a try? Vomiting on survivors is also pretty cathartic, and good for the soul. Why not put Blight, Nurse, Spirit and Huntress on a shelf for a bit, and try out something new? I've probably run into one plague last month, and there's a good chunk of new survivors that don't know how to effectively play against her at all.
Anyways, that's my pitch for Plague, a mostly forgotten killer that has a lot of relevancy in the current day meta. What are your thoughts about this? Are you going to give it a try and see for yourself?
Umm how about we don’t put Spirit on a shelf when no one plays her?
-
Oh geez I can predict where this thread is going to go.
-
I did that for Artist. It’s just, no other killer can replace Spirit for me, and no other killer that BHVR will make in the future will replace her. Spirit reigns supreme in my heart!
-
You need to play against Iron Will users differently. You will need to identify if they have it and then limit yourself to the short burst play style.
@[Deleted User] said:
Use dried cherry blossom. I know you said you usually play base kit... but add-ons are there to help you so i don't know why you wouldn't use them.
I have to disagree. DCB is an add on that teaches players bad habits and once you get too reliant on the killer instinct, you literally can’t play without it. Just stay away from the add on if you wanna get better with her.
