They're good at giving me headache, but their gameplay is bad.

You should probably just add "What else besides spirit (...)." to the OP.
I don't know ANYONE who has any fun against spirit thwt is not paid actor or plays against an afk/bot killer.
Other than that, the generic iri head huntress, basic female dog builds on Freddy or me being the only solo survivor in a game with some 3 man swf...
There's people that do have fun against Spirit, myself included.

It's a tie between Hag and Twins

I’m gonna run out of cups if I did this

We all at some point go through that time period of bad games. It is very normal in DBD.
While you’re on your break, try playing other killers until you are ready to play Huntress again. I’m an experienced Spirit main, and there’s been moments where I just cannot track people with her power to save my life.
It’s all about having the right mentality - sometimes you’re just not gonna have the right mentality to play even your best killer. Depending how you really feel, a little break could be very effective, as I’ve taken a few breaks from Spirit in the past by playing other killers like Billy, Blight, and Pig that I find pretty enjoyable.
Just because you’ve had a few bad games with Huntress doesn’t mean you’re skill with her is dipping. Once you’ve taken a little break, I guarantee you’ll be fine. Good luck with your future games!

That's why I use macros for Struggling and Wiggling, they help so much.
How exactly does that work?

They could have been playing as SWF.
Oh yeah, I didn’t even think about that. They didn’t seem to be in communication that much, but it’s hard to know.

You can change the button struggle is mapped to.
Do yourself a favour and set it to the mouse scroll wheel, which is literally designed to be used fast.
Didn't think about that. I'll give that shot.

I love DS because of the anti-tunneling aspect. However, it was designed in a way that makes you completely invincible for 1 whole minute. It needs to actually be reworked in a way that just makes it an anti-tunneling perk. Survivors abuse current DS by literally doing whatever they want even if the killer wasn’t tunneling them. You combine this with Unbreakable, the killer is in a complete lose-lose situation. It’s honestly ridiculous how this is the case.
Imo, Unbreakable is fine, but DS really needs a rework. It should cut the timer down to 30 seconds. If the survivor works on a gen, does a totem, heals someone, or someone else gets hooked in that duration, DS is deactivated. If the killer is chasing the survivor, the timer stops. This way, it makes it solely based around anti-tunneling and doesn’t give survivors the feeling of “I’m invincible for a whole minute.”
-
He’s not difficult to pick up imo as he has insane mobility and an instant down. Although, he has a lot of tools and tricks that need practice that make him a hard killer to master.
Hillbilly is definitely my 2nd most played killer behind Spirit and I would say that mastering Billy takes time. I can’t say exactly how long it will take because I’m not sure what kind of player you are, but I would say a few months until you master him. He’s very fun and rewarding, just keep practicing him and you’ll get there.
-
Had a game last night where I played Spirit and played against a Kate that seemed to know a few tricks to throw me off. I’m not exactly sure if it was because she mains Spirit like I do, but man was she tough to catch. She can tell I was phasing or not and all that stuff.
Now she did have iron will and I never run stridor but generally speaking, a lot of survivors tend to beeline and hold W even if they did have iron will. Those survivors are way too predictable and easy to catch. Even without iron will, it’s possible to throw the Spirit off if you play like an unpredictable maniac.
I did eventually catch on to the Kate’s tricks and 4k’d that match, but I gotta give it to her, she gave me a challenge that I love to go against. These type of survivors are what makes me love playing the game so much.

I'm expecting Devour Hope, Thrill of the Hunt and Undying to be a nasty trio.
Devour Hope wins games at 3+ y'all sleepin' on it.
Ruin + Undying = preventing survivors from getting the gens done
Devour Hope + Undying = kill all the survivors before they can get all the gens done
BBQ and Chili has gotta be the fourth perk. I love putting BBQ with Devour Hope because I'm supposed to be 24 meters away from the hook to gain stacks so BBQ can help with knowing where to go after an unhook rather than wondering off in random places.

I can relate

The games are too easy? If you’re playing as Spirit, Blight, Nurse, or Billy yeah you can defend the totems. In fact, you don’t even really need them so much for the female killers.
Yes, they were too easy, even for Pig. The survivors probably got one gen done at best in those games.

@Phasmamain said:
As someone who hates playing against spirit this sounds like just what she needs. Could make her more skill based too as you would have to account for cooldown management and the new sound
Yeah same. Her skill ceiling is actually pretty high, but the skill floor is pretty low imo. This rework will bring both up.
-
@Chilli_man2400 said:
Nah I’d rather they bring back the spirit bug where when your phasing you hear her breathing that was actually very good even though it was a bug it was a very nice way to show counterplay they should bring it back
Yeah that bug was actually really good. The idea I proposed isn’t that much different from it though, because I did propose an audio cue of Spirit’s current location.
-
I gotta go with Badham Preschool. The devs did an amazing job reworking that map and it’s very balanced imo. Graphical updates are pretty cool as well.
Other maps that I like are Coal Tower, Lery’s Memorial Institute, Father Campbell’s Chapel, Dead Dawg Saloon, and Temple of Purgation.
I absolutely despise Rotten Fields, Grim Pantry, Hawkins, Disturbed Ward, and The Game.

Survivor: Meg
Killer: Spirit

Finally, someone that doesn't put Wraith in the lowest spot! Hell, I'd say with good enough add-ons he's mid B-tier.
Without he's actually terrible, so C seems like a good middle-ground.
Wraith is one of the killers that I play quite a bit. Base Wraith is lackluster but man some of his add ons are so fun to use and make up his weaknesses a ton.

I almost totally agree with every placement here. I feel Deathslinger should be in B tier rather than A though, his lack of map pressure and speed kill him. Glad you haven't joined the Blight cult because people are really overselling him. Low A tier - high B tier is where he is. He is not the third or second strongest killer in the game. Just move 3 inches to the right 4head
Deathslinger does lack map pressure, but his 1v1 being as insane as it is makes him A tier imo.
I think Blight is very good in the right hands. I definitely would've put him S tier if he wasn't so map dependent.

I’d say I’m biased here because I’ve mailed him since I got him and I’d consider myself pretty good with him but I would agree huntress and slinger are better.
I just think people like other calling him the objective worst killer in the game have some major flaws in their argument
That's understandable. There are players I've seen play make clown look really good. Honestly glad he doesn't slow himself down when he throws bottles anymore because that used to hurt him hard.
-
Plague is in a tier by herself when it comes to teachables. Also, imo the clown has better teachables than nurse.
-
@Phasmamain said:
Is clown really that bad?
good bottle placements can render most loops unplayable and either force a hit or super early pallet drop
good bottle throws to zone survivors away from other loops
easy access to exhaustion and extra slowdown via addons
definitely isn’t D tier I’d put him up to C maybe B if your really good with him
Clown can definitely do some damage, but I don’t think he is on par with the other killers at the moment. I don’t think there is a killer in the game that can’t win or is completely unplayable, but if I have to put someone in the D tier, it’s gotta be him and trapper. Although, I can see why someone would put him higher because he can handle chases pretty well.
Huntress and deathslinger are just the better choices for a range attack killer and he doesn’t have the map presence like billy, oni, etc. He has to spend time reloading his bottles when he runs out, or he can continue a chase as a normal M1 killer which isn’t something you wanna be doing.
I’m hoping that this upcoming rework puts him on par with other killers and mastering clown would be more rewarding than it is now.
-
I would buy the DLCs so you can get an extra survivor as well.
-
Go for spirit. Her stun noise and moaning is so cute. That alone should be enough to play her imo.

It ain’t weird if it’s facts. Don’t listen to them.

Personally, I think the survivor he should be invested in to start is David King. He has We’re Gonna Live Forever which is great for bloodpoint farming. New players will need to get as much bloodpoints as they can. It will help him in the long run. David is free too which makes it better.
For killer, if he’s interested in putting time into DBD, he should consider buying Leatherface so he can get BBQ and Chili, because of bloodpoints.
As a new player, he shouldn’t worry about which killers are strong. Nurse and Spirit are the two strongest killers in the game but new players will struggle to use them. If he doesn’t want to pay money on DLCs, Wraith will be an amazing choice. While he’s not a strong killer, he’s very beginner friendly. Hillbilly can be a good choice. Although, Billy’s saw can be hard to use at first, he still has great mobility which will help out new players.
-
I’m a PC player so I can’t really make too many comments about it. I have heard how painful it can be playing blight on console is.
-
Michael is waaay too high. I love Mikey, but in this current meta, good teams will be able to keep him in tier 1 for a long time. He moves barely faster than survivors in tier 1 and has no lunge. His map presence is one of the worst in the game. He's not even the best killer at what he does, because Ghost Face is the better pick out of the stalk killers. Unless you have busted add ons, then Michael won't have much of a shot against good teams, and they don't even have to be SWF.
-
People who think it's okay to bully new players honestly don't have a life. Best thing to do is to ignore them as best you can. I would suggest until you're more comfortable playing killer, you can press the button at the bottom right of the end game chat and that disables the chat. Otherwise, just keep practicing killer as that's all it takes to get better.
We've all been in the spot of not knowing what we are doing, and a lot of us have been bullied at some point when we were still new to the game. Back when I was new, I've gotten a few survivors that were unnecessarily bullying me just because I wasn't good at a video game.
Sorry you had to deal with that. I hope your experience will get much better moving forward!
-
Haha very funny. Can us non-toxic spirit players ever catch a break?

@Negi said:
I honestly think she'd be just fine if they removed her ability to hear sounds during phasing. Would turn it more into a mindgame with only visual cues that the survivor can play around instead of "You breath, you die."
No, this is not the solution. It's not a mindgame because no one is outsmarting each other due to the fact they can't see or hear each other. This change would kill spirit while still having the same issue her power has, which is not giving feedback to the survivor of where and what she's doing. She's be just as boring to go against and will be super unplayable. Sounds like this is a loss for both sides.
-
I think that if a killer brings undying, then it should be the only hex totem on the map at the start of the trial. Once the survivors cleanse it, all the other hex perks are deactivated for 30 seconds or so, while instantly spawning the other hex totems, meaning the survivors will have time to find the totems before they activate again.
This will remove the RNG it has meaning it can’t stay up for the whole match or it can’t be magically broken in the first minute of the match.

No I was thinking no more than 4, and they shouldn’t be placed anywhere convenient for survivors either
Yeah 4 might be about right, but either way, the concept sounds cool.
-
This is actually a pretty interesting idea. Although just making this change could make her significantly weaker, so there should be a buff to compensate for it.
There should be 6 or 7 ethereal plane portals survivors can use around the maps. Once when a survivor interacts with one and goes through the full duration, it will be unusable until every other portal is used. Once all the portals are used, then spirit gets this really powerful ability for 45 to 60 seconds. She can maybe go through walls or something crazy like that, but before people freak out, the ability won’t last long.
They should still give her an indication if she’s phasing but don’t tell where she’s going unless s survivor interacts with a portal.
I think this overall can force survivors to make smart decisions on whether to conserve the portals or not while also making it a more interactive experience with spirit and just gameplay wise in general.

I'd put Blight as the strongest in S tier followed by the Oni, i can't choose between Freddy and Billy and then PH
I would've put Blight higher, but he is very map dependent. He will struggle on Lery's because there are too many things to bump into and he'll struggle on Rotten Fields because there's hardly anything to bump into.

@lowiq said:
Everyone is sleeping on blight. He is definitely the third strongest killer right now, and only behind spirit because he has bad maps.
I play Blight normally myself, and I do agree that he is a very good killer. Not sure I can put him on par with Oni or Pyramid Head, though. The major problem with Blight is, as you said, he is super map dependent, which is pretty crucial.
-
Everyone in the community, we need to get together and make this happen!
-
Plague should be the top tier. The fact that dark devotion is her worst perk and it's a really solid perk overall should be enough.
-
Trust me, she isn't as easy as people claim. Spirit's one of those killers some people can learn and adapt to a lot quicker than others because her power is unique and requires this specific skillset that some people naturally don't have. Best thing to do is to keep practicing her and keep experimenting with new tricks. You should be fine as long as you put in the time and effort.
-
I don't really think a tier list based off how strong a killer is should include an "easy to play" tier. While I do agree Freddy doesn't require much effort despite how powerful he is, the fact nurse, spirit, and hag are more powerful than Freddy even though they're more difficult to master makes them stronger overall. You can make an argument oni and PH are ahead as well. Mastering nurse means you'll dominate more than Freddy ever will, and that should be the deciding factor when determining which killers are stronger.
-
Killers:
Marry: Spirit's already my waifu
Kiss: Pig because she's pog
Kill: Hag because she's so hag
Survivors:
Marry: No one, not cheating on spirit
Kiss: Meg, she's awesome
Kill: Elodie because of her scream

Is the skill of tracking survivors specific to spirit though? She isn’t really misunderstood she’s hated on for very valid reasons as nobody wants to be powerless in the most fun aspect of the game.
you don’t see many people complain about killers like nurse billy oni and blight because these killers can excel in chase so long as the player using them is skilled.
as for most bashed and misunderstood that goes to deathslinger at least he has the counter play of doing gens
you can still track invisible players by blood if you have the addon, scratch marks, pain grunts, footsteps, crows and foliage moving. With all that being directional. That is not hard In the slightest
Umm you do realize you can do gens against a spirit too, right? She can’t be in multiple places at once and is 4.4 just like slinger. She might have some mobility but it’s got a long cool down unlike billy.
Father’s glasses is ultra rare, and no one ever uses that add on, so I have no idea why you’re bringing that up. Again, being able to track with those things are not easy at all and takes practice. Maybe if you have like 5000 hours in the game or playing against potatoes that always hold W, it’ll be easy.
No one can just pick up spirit and instantly master her. I started playing blight very recently and usually 4k, but does that make him skill-less? No. Every player has their own skillsets and learning curves. Some players struggle with spirit because they simply don’t have that specific skillset but they could do better with other killers even ones that are known for a relatively high skill cap. You can have your own opinion, but don’t act like everyone can play spirit at an optimal level, because they really can’t.
-
Spirit’s my main, so it’s definitely her.

tracking a directional sound bubble that leaves scratch marks isn’t skill. Especially with stridor spirit becomes autopilot mode. All of the skills you need to play spirit a not killer individual. There’s no throwing arc like huntress or clown. There’s no curving like hillbilly and oni and there no trap placement and prediction like hag and trapper. If you can play killer to any conceivable level you can play spirit.
Im not saying all spirit mains are bad players I’m just saying she does not require any skills individual to her
All of those killers you mentioned require a completely different set of skills. Following scratch marks and being able to predict exactly where a survivor is going is not that easy and is so much more skillful than people realize. It’s prolly easy for you because you might play against potatoes and/or DCers every match. Spirit is the most bashed and misunderstood character in DBD’s life cycle and it’s kind of gotten ridiculous at this point. People only say she’s requires no skill isn’t because of her being unfair to play against, which I do understand and I hope the devs make changes soon. The spirit player still needs to be good to be oppressive.

Every killer requires game sense. All you do is follow the sounds and win the guessing game 9/10 times. You can stand still and hit out of it. Not much skill involved there
Well of course every killer requires game sense, I never said they didn’t. Spirit requires a lot considering that she can’t actually SEE survivors. Tracking them by sound alone is easier said than done. Not everyone has the mentality to track exactly where a survivor is. Standing still isn’t a skill, but it is a skill in itself to know when to stand still and when not to. I understand you prolly don’t want to admit it, but spirit does require a lot more skill than you realize, although I respect your opinion and we can agree to disagree.

Both of those characters don’t require much skill to play but are still really good hence the name
Freddy I can understand. Not spirit tho, she requires a lot of game sense, great reads, and great predictions. Her skill ceiling isn’t huntress or nurse but it’s still significantly underrated.
