I too made a Killer Tier list based on their Teachables!

TL;DR:

if you dont want to read all of this, you can easily skip anything from below the picture, as that is just for clarification purposes! you only need to read through it should you have questions, as that may answer them.

i saw some people on here doing such lists and i thought that was a fun and interesting idea, therefore i decided to make my own.

however, there is a small twist.

the way my ranking works is, that i rated each individual teachable perk a killer came with on a scale from 0 to 5, then added these points together and the overall score a killer received would determine their placement within the tier list.

which means this list is more focussed on the overall quality of a killers collective teachables, rather than pointing out which individual has the strongest perk available.

naturally, there were a lot of killers that ended up with the same points, so i placed them next to each other on the Tier List going from the oldest to newest (oldest on the left - there is no ranking under killers with the same points though, these all have the same spot). The list still goes from best to worst though, so all the killers with high points will be on the left, while the low point scoring ones will be on the right.

for clarification i'll add a list with each killers individual point score below the picture, just to avoid possible confusion.

and without further ado, heres my list:

Killer Tier List (based on Teachables).png

12 Points: Plague

11 Points: Nurse

9 Points: Trapper, Shape, Hag, Clown, Spirit

8 Points: Hillbilly, Doctor, Cannibal, Legion, Ghostface, Blight

7 Points: Pig, Demogorgon, Oni

6 Points: Wraith, Executioner

4 Points: Huntress, Nightmare, Deathslinger

3 Points: Twins

also, for those that might be interested, here's my criteria for obtaining points:

0 Points: 0 Points are given to Perks which are so bad that no one would ever run them outside of maybe meme builds. Either the restrictions and / or downsides are way too overpowering compared to the main effect, or its generally just useless.

1 Point: 1 Point is given to Perks that can only be useful in very specific scenarios and have little to no usage outside of that.

2 Points: 2 Points are given to Perks that are only good in specific combinations. Whether said combination is another Perk, a specific Killer or a special playstyle does not matter. Outside of those the Perk is below average and is rarely ever seen on its own.

3 Points: 3 Points are given to Perks that are overall decent. Not very strong, but also not bad. These Perks can be used if someone wants to, but they are not all that common due to downsides or just generally not great effects.

4 Points: 4 Points are given to generally good Perks. They are overall good choices to play and can be seen quite often in games. Sometimes these Perks can achieve victories that would not have been possible without them. However, they are not good enough to be considered "the best".

5 Points: 5 Points are given to the best of the Perks. Perks everyone should go for and that you can run pretty much any time you want. These Perks that have great upsides compared to little to no downsides and are usually represented in the Meta.

if you have any further questions, for example why a certain killer ended up in a certain spot, just comment down below and i'll provide you with more information on the matter, including individual point scoring of the killers perks and why i think they score the way they do (for requested killers).

But as this would be way too long to just add it in this post, ill leave that up to requests.

Thanks for taking your time to read this,

have a wonderful day / night!

  • Plague is in a tier by herself when it comes to teachables. Also, imo the clown has better teachables than nurse.

yeah Plague easily dominated this list. she would have been S Tier had Dark Devotion been a tad better, but currently i could only give it a 3 Point rating, which combined with 4 Points on Corrupt Intervention and 5 Points on Infectious Fright "only" got her to the highest possible score of A Tier.

Clown and Nurse were actually pretty balanced in terms of teachables. both A Nurses Calling and Pop Goes The Weasel scored a solide 5, Thanatophobia and Bamboozle both scored a 4 aswell. The Clowns downfall on here was Coulrophobia, which scored 0 Points, while the Nurses Stridor could score 2 Points, due to its usability when combined with Spirit.

still, he managed to get a good 3rd place.

  • I'm honestly surprised Wraith isn't in D-Tier. I love Wraith, but his teachable aren't amazing. Now that I think about it, I suppose he's there for Shadowborn. Still, I'd say Oppression is far better than Bloodhound or Predator.

yeah, Wraith is quite disappointing in terms of Teachables.

actually, the 6 Points he scored were a combination of Bloodhound and Shadowborn being rated with 3 Points each, while Predator just ended up with 0 Points.

i could understand if anyone would want to move Bloodhound down by one though (into "only usable in certain combinations") - i just felt like the Perk itself isnt entirely useless / bad when run by itself, its just not a good perk either. Tracking wise there are many much better alternatives - but it does its job.

and if you're wondering, the 3 Points for Shadowborn are so low due to the downside of it making flashlight blinds from weird angles easier on you (Flashlights are based on the killers FoV, so increasing said FoV also increases the area survivors need to aim to in order to blind you).

Oppression, the only one of the Twins perks that even scored any points, only got away with a 3 Point ranking aswell, surprisingly enough.

I just feel like the Perks restrictions are way too high for what it actually does, the random selection of 3 gens and the lengthy cooldown in particular.

Its a Perk where i wouldnt have any trouble moving it up by one, if one of these downsides was reduced. For example, if it would affect every gen instead of 3 random generators it would easily get the 4 Points - currently however i feel like, especially due to the restrictions in place, it is very medicore.

That's fair, I suppose. Personally, Bloodhound isn't all that great. It basically needs Sloppy just for the Hemmorage it gives. While it can be a very accurate from of tracking, I prefer others. Nurses gives the exact location and has a similar prerequisite of them needing to be injured.

I actually didn't know that about Shadowborn.

I'm hoping with the next, next Mid-chapter when they focus on Twin's they'll actually make their perks more useful. IMO Oppression just needs a shorter cooldown and it'd be a pretty solid perk. Coup De Grace should be small, permanent increases and Hoarder is just a terrible perk. The only way it could be better is if it maybe slowed down the unlocking of chests too.

a reduced cooldown or it affecting all gens - both would work perfectly fine and both would make the perk a LOT better than it currently is.

Hoarder i too think isnt really able to do a lot, even if they buff it.

your Coup De Grace idea is very interesting though. it would work a lot like Fire Up that way and, depending on the values it would receive, could actually jump up to being an amazing perk. imagine the vaules being 1/2/3% - after 5 completed generators this would permanently increase your lunge by up to 15%, that would be insanely strong (probaply a 5 Point score with that).

i think its gonna be more likely that they'll pull a Gear Head on us and just leave it in the gutted state they put it in... honestly, all the Perk needs to jump from 0 to 3 Points imo is them reversing the nerf after the PTB, 4 Points if you'd only lose a stack uppon a succesfull hit.
