Never thought I'd see the day survivors complain about a garbage perk that only works against clicky clicky squads 😂
I seen someone complaining about Iron maiden the other day.

I do. I dont see it as unplayable
I'll play solo survivor over solo killer any day. I got tired of 4 minute games as killer with clicky clicky because nobodys is getting any points and I'm not feeding you points after that

Same was said of boons, no nerfs since live still.
To be fair it doesn't normally take them a lot longer to nerf survivor stuff then killer but there is still time for it to happen but I honestly don't think it will.

I've been a DbD player since 2017 and it's kinda funny to see how killers view on chases have changed. It went from "Looping is an exploit", to "Looping is an unintended game mechanic", to "Looping is OP", to "Looping has no counterplay", to "Looping is boring", to where it is now with dropping pallets early and holding W has no counterplay and is boring.
It's beginning to look a lot like the killer equalivent of survivors complaining about said killers that encourage the early drop and W meta, where they just get told to "adapt" and it's "balanced cause they lack 4v1 pressure"
To be fair loop was an unintended game mechanic the game was supposed to be more stealthy. there was literally infinites in the game were the killer couldn't hit the survivor no matter how l long the ran around the loop. Most loops don't have counterplay once the pallet is dropped is safe and the only thing the killer can do is break the pallet. Instead of fixing these issues (other then most infinites) they just started throwing out anti loop killer. It all comes down to busted game mechanics that the devs ignore and act like balancing for casuals is the reason.
To be clear they don't balance for casual they balance for bad players. Even casual player will get better.

I agree but remove the stupid purple spirit addon that pinpoints the location of the survivor, it's the most brainless addon Spirit has ever had and i can't believe they removed some great addons to add this aberration that requires no skill.
I though this was hilarious its pretty much here is the survivor unphase now. Its almost like bhvr was like you want to see what a easy mindless spirit really looks like bam DCB.

Yeah, and maybe it is just a planned marketing strategy in an effort to reduce competition. If so, can't blame them for that, I'd do the same.
But on the off-chance this was planned for months in advance like she said, and for other reasons, I'd love to know what just so I can better prepare for them. I have group projects out the whazoo for university and the timing of this blood hunt just is not the best for me.
No disrespect to Mandy but her awnser seems so official and pre planned. and before everyone get at me I understand she can't just say whatever she wants because she is a representative of bhvr.

She's fine with iri and purple addons. Just thought I you finish what everyone was saying must of accidentally hit send early. And speed isn't everything especially when you can't see or hear anything.

I'm personally thankful for the bloodhunt, and regardless of the timing, I appreciate it.
That said, what factors do you consider when planning them?
I'm looking at the wiki (https://deadbydaylight.fandom.com/wiki/Blood_Hunt), and we literally haven't had a bloodhunt in two years until the 5th anniversary this year and now. I expected the anniversary one since it's a 5-year celebration and a huge milestone for this game, but was there anything that prompted this one in particular?
You notice that there has never been a bloodhunt in November in 5yrs.

What do you want from a MMR?
The thing is you can sweat hard play way better than your opponent and get a 2k in that situation it should of been a 4k because the other team was out played. Now if your sweating hard but your opponent is doing just as good as you and you end up with a 2k or less thats understandable and how mmr should work.

I was watching ohtofu last night and he brought up the current state of killers. Tdlr he essentially was saying that killers are being babies because mmr is doing it’s job. I mean sure we’re not 4king every game but a lot of us are still 4K at least 50+ percentages of our games. The mmr is working as intended and putting us against skilled survivors, the way it should be. Kinda was a wake up call to me personally and gave me more perspective on the games I lose. Instead of thinking the game is inbalanced (which I still think it is to a certain degree) I took tofus advice and now am thinking more or less what I did wrong during my matches instead of thinking this game is just 1 sided.
Just my last piece of advice I’d like to leave all my killers out there is unless your getting paid to play this game (content creators) why do you care if you lose? Sure it’s annoying to get teabagged / Bm’d but it’s not worth working up a stress over this game.
Except at a higher level(not just the highest) the game mechanics heavily favor the survivors and you can't really compare your average player to someone who plays the game as a job and has a huge amount of game knowledge and experience compared to the average player.
Thats like say well x pro player does this all the time in fortnite or whatever game so the average player should be able to do it like them as well.

Good point still got to make it look good for all them highlights.
-
Serious question why do people think EF is to strong? Its an iri which means it should be strong it can only injure and not down,it add 50% on your animation after using your chains, I belive it only spawns 2 chains on injured. Thats a lot of downside to be able to get an injury from a distance.

It doesn't need to be competent with the way survivors prefer to play. It just needs to be around.
At that point why have a killer just load them in and let them do gens and leave. If you play the tutorial the trapper ai is horrible.

I would like to see more skill based stuff on survivor holding 1 button to do everything gets kind of boring. When I first started playing survivor skill checks were exciting and I think survivor game play needs some more stuff like that so its not completely dependent on the killer to entertain the survivor.

So you’re a competitive person annoying that you have a good chance of losing while playing bottom tier?
I don't mind losing but I should always have a chance to win even if its small. I shouldn't get auto losses before I've even had a chance to move my character. It actually happens alot I got onto playing huntress because I like hitting the hatches its a skill thing between both players but get an indoor map as huntress and you might as well just call it a day. I play on controller btw.

So all you care about is winning? Then why play bottom tier?
Because I enjoy variety and there's 25 killers in the game why should I be forced to play 3 killers just to have a good game? Yes I care about winning im a competitive person its the reason I'm playing an online game as the single player if I'm just going to get auto loss games whats the point. I q up to have a good game not load in to a match and go oh great this match is going to suck and I'm going to lose as well as have a bad match.

Don’t unless you enjoy playing said killer. I enjoy playing clown so I don’t mind losing a game due to bad luck/matchmaking
Myers is my favorite but its not fun going in getting 2 chases and 2 hooks multiple games in a row because the game decided that I lose if thats the case I might as well just dc and wait the 5 minutes is a loss anyway right why should I be force to play it?

I don't think killers want to be high mmr, because you get burnt out much quicker going against good survivors. They suck the fun out of everything.
I don't believe its just high mmr due to the escape or lose system i think good survivors get stuck in the high middle because if you die thats a whole game mmr gone. When I play killer and I'm not the highest mmr at all I play against good survivors that run perfectly have full meta.... no hackers though. As a survivor I lost a good 4-5 games straight because the team left me to die on my first hook, ran a 4 gen chase and now I'm camped,or I just got tunneled out. Most of the time this was due to my teammates like I did all I could and got screwed. Omg I just realized its killer all-over again but less stressful.
-
@Phasmamain said:
We’ll look at it this way. If I play a match as clown for example I’m going in knowing I’m playing a weak killer. Knowing dbd map rng/matchmaking honestly you should accept that you’re just going to lose some games. That’s just the way the game is
Why should I even waste my time in q if the game is just going to give the other team auto win?

Honestly. Blight is only boring because EVERY Blight player uses the same build, Ruin+Undying+Tinkerer and usually BBQ. I mean sure, it's a really good build for Blight and it's fairly easy to get rid of Ruin and Undying on some maps. But it's still really boring to face because not only are they using the same perks, they also play the exact same way.
The thing is its the exact same way for survivors the same meta builds and the same optimal game play so the killers do the same. This of course goes both ways its kind of like the chicken or the egg. The thing is when you play killer its just that the same perks and same tactics just different skins at least as a survivor the killers have some kind of difference between them.

@GannTM said:
Not a survivor main but I hate playing as and against him. I have a proposed change for him though that could make him stronger in the 4v1 and less oppressive in the 1v1.
The problem is that most survivors start complaining about 4v1(nurse,Blight,pre-nerf spirt, the box) the biggest problem with that is if the killer doesn't have a 4v1 then they need to be able to get downs fast which survivors also don't like because they want want chases to last forever.

The problem is alot of killers have become addon dependent to be consistent. I feel like survivors for get about that like sure so and so seems to 4k more often with this iri purple combo but without them maybe a 2k or 1k or 3k.

The fact you think the turning rate addons are good shows you don't really know anything about Blight.

Did every killer 2 games each. Iridescent 1. Lost 6 matches total (3k escapes), Tied 2 times, 3k'd 11 times and the rest was 4k's the rest of the time. Played as Iri 4 Survivor with my dude and barely won with escapes while having the most points just about every match. Always had a survivor who would screw up the game. Killer is far from hard. I did the killer challenge without tunneling, camping AND with only 1 gen regression perk. No stacking Ruin with Pop. The games were pretty easy. If you're losing then it's probably your skill added with camping and tunneling just to win. This game is really balanced but 1 bad Survivor can ruin a survivor's team from winning. 15 hours of killer streams total and 5 hours of Survivor to show the difference and BOTH Iri.
As soon as you said you did it at grade iri you discredited your whole argument grade and mmr are not related at all. Grade is how much in a month you played in a month as mmr doesn't reset like people think and is a Terrible win lose system but is still your "skill" level in this game

There is nothing wrong with smartface as a cosmetic. Yes, some people use it as an additional way to target POC players, streamers, and survivors, but thats only because they GIVE the power to the cosmetic. Calling it "blackface bubba" is giving it power that it doesnt have without these complaints. Even if it gets removed, what does that solve? does that make all racist players quit? No. If people want to be racist in a game they will.
I think it should stay and they should add in more of the original cast. I also believe the its an extreme minority that uses it for racist purposes and removing it is only a win for them

This has been happening for like 2 months and its actually a big deal if a gen pops while your hooking and don't notice your losing information on where the survivors where and the possibilities of where they are going.

I feel like the maps in this game are what needs to be balanced. I don’t mind going against 4 good survivors..just not on maps like haddonfield, mothers dwelling, ormond, fractured cowshed, rotten fields etc. Going against good swfs on coal tower for eg with manageable rng is fun..
The problem is now with boons you can't really shrink maps down to make them more manageable for killer because it will hugely buff boons. As boons are now one boon takes up about 1/5 of an average map.

The game is not as badly balanced as some people state it to be. Even Killer players who complain on a constant basis on the Forums will probably win more games than they lose.
Not that bad survivor objectives take about 6 minutes to complete and can be split between 4 people. The killer objective takes 8 minutes(12 chases at 40 seconds a chase) and can be split between one player.

If this game ever goes to that length -- other than having bots for a "practice" mode -- then you can officially put a nail in the coffin of the game and call it dead. There's zero reason to think the devs could actually come up with an AI-controlled opponent that could compete against even decent players. The hordes of people playing survivor would quickly get tired of escaping every trial without trying, and that would spell the death knell of this game.
The game needs to be fun -- and feel winnable -- for people playing both roles. If the devs ever lose sight of that, then that's a recipe for disaster for the game's future.
I have to totally agree I have no faith in them making a decent AI(Trapper) and would probably kill it. Were getting to the point again where killers are leving or switching roles and the devs have to make QoL changes but when they did that last time(DD,BnP,ect...) survivors freaked out and started calling the game killer sided so I'm not sure they even want to do that again.

Is it such a big deal? BHVR, make this game fun for me or it's just a waste of money and no reason for me to buy OTHER SURVIVIORS

Certain challenges (mainly Glyph + Escape and Survive + have X people Escape) can lead to ME throwing the game to try and get them, but most of the time I lose, it's my own fault.
I honestly feel like the constant exaggeration of certain issues makes it way harder for the devs to implement actual/meanwhile fixes.
Current Builds for anyone interested...I hardly ever bring items

"This is true but its not the whole picture they are looking a half a circle"
That...isn't true? Using the radius is not only looking at half a circle. You use the radius to look at the entire circle. The diameter isn't necessary.
Again they just want to use the radius as thats all the boon covers not the area nothing like that just the 24m. Thats all the boon covers is 24m?

It's a very badly designed perk and at the same time grossly overpowered for how it works. It basically punishes survivors for doing the objective and rewards the killer massively for doing nothing at all. It's broken on killers like Blight. When only 2-3 survivors left, there is no way to do the objective. It needs changed.
Why is other perks like Eruption and Surge require effort on the killer has a cooldown and tinkerer doesn't?
Tinkerer needs a nerf.

This is exactly why the radius is more useful. Even if you want to do an approximation, that's still easy to do with the radius. Like I said, there is NOTHING the diameter accomplishes that the radius doesn't.
Your assuming that the people im talking to are trying to find out more like the area but no there argument is boons aren't that good is only 24 meters. This is true but its not the whole picture they are looking a half a circle and saying thats not that much but there's a whole other half which the diameter shows better just really quick.

I'm the unlucky type of guy that whenever I decide to pick DS, killers tend to not tunnel anyone. But as soon as I'm taking that perk out, every single killer seems to tunnel everyone.
This is the exact reason I don't bother with DS. I just run a different perk i know ill get value from.
-
@Beaburd said:
I swear survivors do this because they expect tunneling to be some type of illegal maneuver.
I've had quite a few games where someone instantly unhooks a survivor 1 second after I turn around. Then they either ditch the survivor they unhooked, or expect them to tank a hit with BT and for me to leave them alone after that, and in either case will complain about tunneling if I don't let the unhooked live.
But to anyone who actually does this and reads this, know that that hook was my map pressure to peel you off generators and you took it away instantly.
You also just removed 45 seconds of hook timer that I'd otherwise need to kill that person entirely. That 45 second hook time you wasted counteracts the time I'll waste eating a DS if they have it, and will also force you or others to save them or be a man down permanently, meaning less people on generators.
So unless you make yourself REALLY damn appealing, I'm tunneling the heck out of the person you just rescued while I'm still in the area.
---
Moral of the story: Unhook intelligently or don't unhook at all.
Tunneling is okay in my books, and I will do it if you give me the option.
I play solo mostly and omg does this happen so much ill get unhook almost instantly and the killers turns around and my "teammate" is nowhere to be found. When I play killer I will normally slug the unhooked to keep pressure but not just rebook them 5 seconds later. If you've been a jerk though your probably ending up right back on the hook as I see it as karma.
