Okay but on the other hand that add-on many times stops working or it doesn't work suddenly at all. Happend to me many times. So "up to 12 times" is sometimes "up to 1-2 times" as well.

Plus the survivor one gives you a pretty decent speed boost that can make the chase last even longer. There is also a pretty decent period after where you can't do anything plus it removes your power to have it

Slugging always has and always will be a high risk high reward strategy. Exponential really doesn't change that at all. If you hear a Boon buzzing maybe don't leave survivors slugged in that area and even then, Unbreakable still exists and people will continue to run that because it is guaranteed without needing to be in range of a Boon.

Also I like that we are completely ignoring the addition of Grim Embrace, a really solid perk that incentivize Killers leave the hook and try to hook everyone once and spread the pressure for a powerful effect.

But I get it, we would rather ignore perks that reward stuff like that. Seriously, I wish more people would use Devour Hope or Make Your Choice and hopefully the new Grim Embrace because when you get value off of these it feels so rewarding and satisfying

Its not just don't slug near a boon if your going to slug most likely because you've seen someone else and are going to pressure them and if you stop and snuff the boon you have to give up the pressure you were going to get to make sure the can't unbreakable so its either give up on a chase and pressure to snuff a boon and make sure the down guy can't get up or leave it and risk them picking them self up is a lose lose for the killer. I don't think is going to be a huge problem though.

Grim Embrace has to much set up to be reliable. What if there's just that one survivor you can never find there always missing before you get there and playing super stealthy. There is also the chance that by the time you've hook all 4 that there's only 1-2 gens left and will get minimal value at best

  • Ok I was like I'm all for having fun but it goes both ways. Survivors are always telling the killer they want to have fun but then never make sure the killer is having fun to

Don't forget. Survivors love to say that chases are the most fun part of the game and then get upset when they only get chased.

That is actually what tunneling is as in chasing one person and having tunnel vision only for them. Its been used for so much else that looking at a survivor will get you accused of tunneling

I'm of the opinion that the killer should "go easy" just that it's a game, and games are more fun when people are trying to have fun. it's kind of redundant, but... yeah. if fun is competitive, that's fun. if not, it's not. DBD just needs a casual mode, or for mmr to be addressed as being a divider for comp/casual mode.

Why does the killer have to go easy they want to have fun to and that normally doesn't mean a 4 minute game and 2 hooks?

  • @StarLost said:

    I'm not.

My playstyle is now - sweat hard early, relax later if I'm in control of the game and the survivors haven't been jerks.

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/2635039#Comment_2635039

    Honestly, this.

I'm also very tired of people telling killers that they need to go easy and 'have fun' without telling survivors the same thing.

I go in trying to use the killer power effectively instead of going for kills. I think is why I like playing huntress.

The problem is even if the survivors don't sweat there objective still goes fast.

Last night was literally the first time in 200 odd hours of playing killer that a survivor gave me a free hook at the end. It was a 4man SWF, 3 of which were toxic as all hell. I think he was mildly ashamed of his friends.

I have to disagree. A survivor who runs across the map, away from gens to heal is a waste on time as they are not doing gens. It is much quicker for the injured survivor to run to a gen and either heal if there are people there and help on the gen, or start another gen and wait for a heal. Plus I find very few teams actually put a boon up now, as some players try to loop around it so they are close, and as it makes a loud noise, it takes two seconds to snuff it out.

Even when there is no boon totem, killers still camp and with any killer they want to use, then use boon totems, gen speed (which they normally use a perk to slow them), survivors using exhaustion perks (when the killer is already faster) and anything else they can think of as an excuse.

I have just had two killer games in a row, not once have I had to camp and guess what, they was both 4k and we had a great time in end chat, thanking each other, no toxicity at all.

I wasn't talking about running across the map to heal but to lead the killer away from gens that need to be done. If the killer takes that chase with 1-3 gens left he will most likely lose all the gens left but he can chose to leave the chase knowing that survivor is injured and he can find them later injured or at least 1 other player has to not do gens to heal you. CoH completely stop all that because if the survivors can heal them self as if there is another player doing it while the other survivor is off doing anything else to progress the game.

Yes killers complain about gen speeds and then run slow down perks it would be weird if they didn't.

Most exhaustion perks extend the chase by alot when the killer needs to make them as short as possible. You do realize the killer is literally .4 or .6 meters faster than a survivor.

Ok now this one is a big one and is really really important play more then 30 minutes as killer and then form an opinion.

  • @nostrada96ass said:

It's ironic that people here think they have to do tunnel because of boon

boon had no effect on gen or chase speed

chasing several people and injuring them in itself is disadvantageous to the killer in the first place

Snowballing is a bad idea. Boon effect gen speed because it allows one person to heal as if someone else is healing them and the frees up a person to be on a gen and all 4 survivors can you it. Its actually a bad idea to stick to certain chases if they are in a really strong loop or run half way across the map away from any gens after you hit them you should probably drop that chase

That's fine that you feel that way but I'm old school I'll run adrenaline and gen rush unless I'm being chased because that's how the doors are gonna get open, Ive got 10,000 hours in this game not that it matters but I've seen the way BHVR does things and this to me feels like they released a perk that has benefits but it stalls the game into a grey area when multiple survivors have it and hand the killer pressure because it gives them more time and that's your best friend when playing killer because every second counts in this game

Thats fine with me your entitled to your opinion you have fun with your gen rush and ill enjoy by CoH.

  • @The_Krapper said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/2633676#Comment_2633676

You have your opinion I have mine, it's fine to disagree, I think boons are a waste of time the match could be over way faster if you didn't even worry about it, they're only good if one survivor has it that way multiple people can still be on gens but even then you could add up the time it took to find the totem, bless it, then reset and it would equal the same as if you did a gen with that time and it can make the difference between escaping or not late in the game when resources have all disappeared

Even if it takes you the same time to go to a totem blessing it and healing as if you would of self cared anytime its used by any survivor after that is time gained on the survivor side. And ill say it again boons cover a 48m bubble and thats alot. It would take a survivor 12 seconds to run from one end of the boon zone to the other.

  • It definitely doesn't feel like a win to me it feels like a tie

If you play your cards right it might be the best anti genrush build.

Scourge hook: pain resonance is my new favorite perk and is aboslutely a meta perk

Thank you behavior for actually adding a new meta perk, yes you still need to be lucky with hooks location but still, this is a super good perk.

Doesn't pain resonance start regression on the gen so you could only use pop if the survivors allow you to

Thats why i think the system overall is not good.

The categories are meh, especially if you are someone who maybe is the distraction. While killer do 1 thing chase, they get atleast 2 categories for it.

Survivor always get mostly only one categorie and even are getting out of the match faster.

It would atleast help, if survivor could atleast get 10k out of every match. After 3 matches with only 7k you have 21k. While most killers have 21k in a single match.

I agree its outdated but I don't think bhvr really has any other idea how to distribute points. The biggest problem imo is efficiency breaks this game on ever level

  • @drakolyr said:

I dont know what bloodpoints has to do with the ingame action. Its an old system. I mean even the BP farm perk is way better for killers with a better secondary effect.

Also theoretically you could farm BP on killer and give it to survivors. Or vice versa.

Also there are clearly more survivors and perks for survivors.

You get BP for ingame actions. I agree that BBQ is much easier to stack but whats the other options, kicking a gen, hitting a survivor, downing a survivor, you could go sacrifice but that would just make it useless. I would like to see something like a pool system for survivors. I've been that guy thats ran the killer for 5 gens then got camped on hook for 5k BP and everyone else got out.

  • It double your BP gain for not been on gens if there's a boon that gave double point for anything it would incentivize putting boons up close to gens and just doing gens and leaving and thats bad game play.

  • @drakolyr said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/2633457#Comment_2633457

I understand your point, but killers get a lot more doing their objectives, while survivors only get 1/4 for their actual objectives.

Also doing chases just for bloodpoints is just not justified, cause your main goal is survive and not play with your killer.

I do agree they should definitely get more but at the same time there is a clear advantage having 4 people vs 1 and I do believe that BP should still somewhat reflect that.

  • @dspaceman20 said:

That gives extra bloodpoints to survivors when you do any action within the boon totems range?

I would really appreciate it. Thank you

    WGLF is a thing

  • @drakolyr said:

Often matches are shorter and you go out of a match faster.

Why survivors dont get much bloodpoints in general?

A killer gets more BP in every action. Also the categories are easier to do as a killer.

I mean, its frustrating after i got camped or tunneled out of a match and only get 3k BP.

But even when a killer has a bad match, he's still around 15 - 20k bloodpoints.

The categories are terrible aswell, especially if some guys die fast.

Team actions are often earned hard, cause you cant do much. Doing a gen together, healing or taking a hit. There aren't that much more.

The only category you get fast, is target. Generators and exit gates.

I mean, one of the categories for bloodpoints is survival. And mostly you get it trough skillchecks. Cause, camped or tunneled and its out.

Boldness depends on the killer. With boon totems it got a lot easier.

A killer gets 3 categories in one chase. For example, brutality hitting or destroying things. Using his power he gets Devioutness and Hunter for going after a survivor.

Event after the end, he gets the 4th categorie, sacrifice.

I think survivor bloodpoints or the bloodpoints in general should get tweaks.

Maybe also raise the cap from 8k to 10k? We have litterly over 100 perks, more bloodpoints in general wouldnt hurt anyone.

Especially new player or players that didnt play the whole time have a hard time.

The reason is because as a team of 4 you are sharing actions and interactions between each other but a killer is in every action or interaction that gives point so they naturally get more plus alot of survivors prioritize gens over everything else so get no points for chase, healing, unhooking, taking protective hits, doing bones(jk),opening chests. There's actually alot survivors can do to earn BP but I do agree that they are low and should earn more.

Fun to me is winning. I should be able to get a 4k if I play well and make almost no mistakes. The game doesn't allow for that though.

I feel like when a group of survivors and the killer make the same amount and kind of mistakes and it still ends up been one side is where the problem with losing comes from. • @Alphasoul05 said:

They're making the game unfun for everyone with their current direction. Your mentality as a killer needs to be going into every match expecting to lose and not caring because if you don't have the mindset of a general disconnect from the current meta you're going to be disappointed.

That isn't even just a killer thing. Imagine being a survivor and every game is just boring M1 holding while the killer camps/tunnels one person, resulting in you getting like no points, no fun, no anything.

Do you have any idea how many times I've played killer or survivor and the killer fails to do much all game, but gets several hooks and then 2 kills by the end of the game because the survivors just stop doing gens and mess around with the killer? Because guess what? No one gains anything from actually escaping or getting more kills, so you're actively encouraged not to. Evidently 2 survivors throwing themselves to death so commonly means the game you played and got absolutely destroyed in goes in the "balanced" statistics pile.

This is my experience on both sides as well all to often and its made me play so much less lately.

Losing survivors is annoying but what I dislike more is losing the initiative. SS makes me waste precious time trying to find Survivors when before you needed Distortion.

Are they hiding in a locker? Are they within your TR? or are they on Shadowstep? Only God knows now.

At least with CoH, if you find it you can leave it because you know where the survivors will scurry off to the second they are hurt.

The thing is if you don't snuff CoH and they make it there thats 8 seconds to heal yourself(it can be faster) and you normally get 20 seconds of distance you can easily restart a chase. CoH allows survivor to rest by themselves at crazy speeds which completely destroys snowball potential.

I agree the distortion effect is a pain but I find i can predict where survivors or going to be more often then not.

  • @lauraa said:

CoH is the weakest boon available right now.

I still defend gens but I don't really care if they decide to rush gens as I am confident in my ability to hook them all at least once and get some decent blood points in the process. If killer queues are taking long I just switch to survivor and try later.

    Shrug

I'm fairly competitive by nature. I tend to be nice in games, but I need to know that I could have won them.

The biggie though is the behavior of survivors. If I'm playing against a group that isn't being ultra sweaty and/or is of a similar skill to me, I will relax and have fun. I'll almost always let 1 or 2 (rarely 3, if it's an SWF) go.

However, I have too much pride to let an insult stand (flicking/teabagging me), and will either start playing really sweaty to repay the person that insulted me or, if it's at the gates/in postgame, I might take it out on the next group I see. It is what it is. Fortunately I don't tilt, so when I play sweaty I tend to do pretty well.

This game feels like a machine designed to manufacture toxicity, especially for the killer. It always feels like not only is the deck stacked against you, but that your opponents don't realize this will constantly belittle/taunt you for not killing them.

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/2633132#Comment_2633132

    This.

I actually really sympathize with Otz. He's like what would happen if a human and a teddy-bear had a baby, and even he loses his fluff with some of the flicky flicky groups he goes up against.

If more survivors would just chill out, stop acting like Halo players circa 2011 and realize that everyone gets more BP if you play at least somewhat to have fun, this game would be a lot healthier.

Think about this: as a killer I've been given a free HOOK because I was having a bad game less time then I can count on one hand. As a killer I've given out hatch the to the last survivor for that reason more times than I can count on both hands and feet and that goes for killers giving me hatch when playing survivor as well.

  • @ColonGlock said:

I focus on keeping my sanity while enjoying this game so blood points are my only goal. I go with the flow and hook 'em and book from the hook. I stay on the move and change targets often. It is so much more fun to just focus on blood points and outplaying them during a chase than trying to confirm kills at all costs.

I try but you get them teams that are gen jockeys and end the game in 5 minutes and you can't stop it. My biggest problem lately is I've been waiting about 10 minutes to find a game and I end up with these guys like half the time so I sit in q longer than my game last plus I get like 12k and the best survivor got about 17k.

When someone teabags or flicky macros me, yeah - I take a certain amount of schadenfreude-tastic pleasure in camping them out. Mess with the Bubba, you get the saw.

The problem with the 'shared storytelling' approach is that it requires both sides to be on the same wavelength. It's pointless to tell killers to relax and have fun when you are facing squad after squad that does nothing but try to get 5gens done as fast as possible while giving the killer minimal chases/hooks and then teabagging you from the exit gates. This seems to be the absolute goal of almost everyone I play against.

Nobody thanks you for going easy from the start. If anything, you're more likely to be mocked.

Right now my policy is - go in hard, mess them up early, get ahead and then you can go easy and meme around. This is probably the one and only situation where survivors will be even slightly grateful.

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/2633066#Comment_2633066

    Job? No.

    It's a competitive multiplayer game.

    The purpose is to win.

I'm rather tired of being told 'well, the killer should just relax'. It's as unfun to have a seemingly unstoppable 4-out as it is to be camped.

My biggest problem with just relax as killer is thats no the role it is stressful and competitive by its nature. Survivors have 3 other people to correct there mistakes where the killer its all on there shoulders. So you have one side thats chill and a party style game and the other side is stressful and competitive.

I don't camp or tunnel so I do eat alot of 4 man outs but its not just about me its the killer side is just losing any press makimg ability. I also want to point out that camping and tunneling aren't cheap tactics they are only seen that way because that is how the community has labeled them. They are legit in game strategies at the killers disposal they just aren't fun but then again neither are the tactics of survivor with gen "rushing" and holding w

But you're essentially just using it to self-care , you're wasting all that time just to stay healed only someone boosted would worry about that the whole match, running resilience and adrenaline with gen rushing will end a game way faster and more than likely you'll all survive if gens are the focus compared to boons where resources are being wasted while people are rubbing themselves in the same part of the map every time, the longer you're in a match the more your survival chances drop do the math on the boons and time wasted when blessing and healing, it sounds good and has a nice effect but it's really not worth it when you add up all the time wasted from a four man with boons

Well I'm sure not trying to gen rush out thats just boring and there's no point in playing if thats the plan. I'll stick to how I play lighting my boons and running the killer around you know enjoy playing.

  • @The_Krapper said:

Unpopular opinion: Boons aren't busted they actually make survivors weaker from the time wasted, If 4 survivors ran boon perks let's say they instantly know where totems are it could take 5-10 seconds each to get to it then you have to bless them so 14×4 if there are no hexes is 56 secs blessing time, and if they do it just twice that's 112 secs to bless plus 40 secs for combined time to find totems equals a total of 152 secs or 2 minutes and 32 seconds of time essentially not doing Jack #########, killers keep throwing up "but they can just relight the totem!" Yea and while they're wasting all that time gens aren't popping Ive gotten to where I hate boon players when I'm playing survivor, too much time wasted on the totems and my killer matches have never been easier when people try to run that trash. Just do the damn gens I promise your chances of survival increase when boons aren't there.

See the thing is if you was 25 finding and setting up a boon to heal your self you've already mand up time sure someone could of healed you in 16 seconds but then they arent doing gens so you've already got the advantage that it only takes one person to heal at normal speed now and thats what makes CoH so efficient. Its not the exact time but the face that your not taking someone else off a gen to heal you which you have to also factor into the time.

Weaker version of the twins in terms of using Victor (can't do gens with him on, can't escape, etc. but with the crows you can) And like pyramid head (or any other range killer kinda- maybe even closer to huntress) in terms of hitting from afar.

All counterplay facts or ideas for her are welcome! Just don't want to see another killer nerfed into the ground. Remember, this game is supposed to be a CHALLENGE! It was not intended to be easy for either side, and it is not easy for either side. Personally, I think it is way harder for killer (coming from a survivor main who plays killer too- mainly wraith and spirit.)

I do think that maybe been downed because you ran into the crow might be a little to much.

What are you gonna use a flashlight on anyway? Blinding at pallets is pointless and you would rarely get flashlight saves in a match, maybe 2 at best unless the killer is oblivious.

Someone save my butt 3 times in my last match so it can happen. But yeah 1-2 unless your a flash light god.

Aka waste flashlight juice on a power she's gonna get back in 4 seconds (not to mention your pretty much stationery so she's getting on M1 on you no matter what)

    Get grabbed in a locker

Die instantly after you use E since again she gets her power back in like 4 seconds or she zones you in which case you're ######### either way.

Here's one that actually works, you see that W button in your keyboard? Hold that until you get downed works for every killer too since more than half are anti loop 👍

Its 5/9/12 depending on the amount of crows she used and if you jump in a locker right in front of any killer your going to get grabbed. The ture counter is just w key first crow from what I've seen.

If not I would like a refund on my game!

Ok the starting mmr is kind of high up there for a new player. I would say just keep playing and look at outside sources for help this game doesn't explain enough still

Grades have 0 to do with mmr. Grades are just time played in a month

  • Its just crazy how people play 1-2 matches against a brand new killer and they're like oh there op there's no counterplay

1 … 32 33 34 35 36 … 48
