you literally sound like one of those bullies right now...

Ok, so you know what I'm gonna tell ya to do? Leave the discussion. BAM. you're no longer being "bullied" and you fixed the issue yourself. That's literally what my post is saying to do. It doesn't take a genius to figure that out

Punish the people who are toxic. That's it. There's your solution. If people want to hurt others, they will. Turning off chats doesn't stop people who legitimately want to harm others.

Even if this was a viable solution, and not victim blaming, which it isn't to the former and is to the latter, you're forgetting an obvious problem here.

What if I want to ######### engage in healthy chat post game? Not all players are toxic, I regularly talk with my opponents afterwards when there is something worse discussing. Stop telling us to turn off a feature that has a valid use on your crusade to be the ultimate victim blamer.

    What he said.

    ---

In addition to that, people are naturally social creatures. Even hard introverts have some social needs whether they admit it or not.

I don't understand why people should abandon their innate social needs and wants to make room for bad apples who abuse the system and torment others. That's such a flawed logic, unless a world of tormentors is the type of world you envision or have surrendered yourself to.

It's exactly this mindset that breeds self-centered views of the world, promotes victim-shaming as stated above, and gives toxic individuals the power to take control of the system that ignores instead of corrects them.

Y all are right that you shouldn't have to turn your chats off. Again as I had said, it's not ok that it happens. However this is not victim blaming. You have a literal solution to your problem, INSTANTLY. you can sit there and tell people how terrible it is to say what they do, but that's not gonna change anything. If you can not handle mean words, stop looking at them. Simple. The devs clearly aren't banning the ######### who say horrible things, so take the matter to your own hands and handle it instead of being children that cry about it to mommy and daddy BHVR.

Again, if you don't do what you can to fix your own problem, you have no right to complain about it. That would be like someone complaining about not having enough money to buy stuff, but they also spend all their money on useless garbage that they don't need. You are creating your own problem. Fix it, or hush, because no one really cares or wants to hear it.

Quit being such special little snowflakes

  • For real my man. Ask any long time league player. Dbd toxicity is nothing in comparison. Literally nothing.

  • Nah. It's not ok. But complaining about it won't change anything. Your answer to it is to turn off game chat if you can't handle it. And if you refuse to turn off chat, you have no right to complain. You can very easily fix the issue, so choosing not to buts the blame on you.

lmaoo I love this comment I mostly play killer but I do play survivor a decent amount and I promise you, you and nobody else is hiding any red stain from any halfway decent survivor

Uh huh. Ive been a killer main since the game only had 3 killers. You can hide your stain. Against top tier survivors, they're gonna be smart enough to play around. It's a mind game. It's not gonna work 100% of the time. Maybe you should watch some guides my dude.

  • Or like.. as a killer just learn how to hide it.. become a better killer.. lol

  • @SilentShepherd said:

First off, I bought DBD and have only played Michael Myers exclusively, so I don't have perks from other killers. I use No One Escapes Death. But after games, survivors always say "noed myers" or something like that. I don't get it, is Noed bad or good? I suspect they are saying I had a good perk on. Honestly, I don't feel like it's that good. I consistently feel underpowered throughout the match. Especially when I see killers like The Doctor....

Next, I think Michael Myers sucks. And this is sad for me, because Michael Myers is the ONLY reason I bought DBD and his Halloween DLC. My only hope is that Jason Vorhees comes to DBD, so I can switch to Jason main. I understand "The Evil Within" perk wants to re-create the spooky jump scares when Michael is staring at someone.. and I'd say that's cool. But I am completely reliant on EW.... to be honest... because the rest of his perk kit sucks, and he has no abilities.

For example, this "Obsession" perk stuff is bad. One of Myers' unique perks, is you get 1 coin for chasing and letting your obsession get away, but then immediately lose the coin if you swing a basic attack?!? Like what. None of the obsession perks are worth using in my opinion. What a trash perk system for Myers. I understand they are trying to fit the Halloween Lore into his kit, but his kit suffers due to it. The Evil Within is good though. Rank 1 EW makes me so stealthy, I can literally walk up to a survivor doing a generator and grab them. Sometimes I intentionally don't get out of EW1 until I grab someone and hook them to begin the chaos, then I start going to EW2. So, basically, from Myer's core kit, I rely entirely on Evil Within. Because Obsession sucks.

Last thing. Flashlights. I have played a couple of games where survivors just chain stunned me with the flashlights, preventing me from hooking anyone. You can look down or away if you want, but as soon as you do the animation to pick up a downed player, you get stunned. It sucked. Flashlights OP in the right survivor group.

Meyers is kinda in a not great position and is fairly outdated, and likely won't get you very far. You can play him well, and have good matches, but compared to what you can do with other killers, he's very low on the tier list.

The biggest reason you get ######### for running NOED on him is that he already has an insta down mechanic, so NOED is sort of redundant and almost a waste of a perk slot. If you do want to keep playing meyers though, I would strongly recommend getting the perk Bamboozle from clown dlc, or the shrine, as it synergizes incredibly well with meyers. Also maybe check out some guides on youtube, they can be very helpful. If you want a suggestion of who to watch specifically, Otzdarva or Nototzdarza is a very amazingly well rounded killer main and he has a TON of helpful guides and tips for every killer in the game, as well as in depth explanations on perk builds.

  • @LuckyLucy1999 said:

I'm wondering if they do in fact play their own game, as they can't honestly think that the current state of the game is in any way healthy.

The balancing in this game is all over the place and gets worse with each new killer/survivor or update. Boons for example. Why did survivors need these in the first place? How is it ok that they can bless a hex and that is is gone but if the killer snuffs out a boon they can just bless it again. Perks and killers constantly being buffed/nerfed, ruining perfectly fine killers in the process. Clearly some perks are too strong (NOED) but they never get nerfed, yet the wraith gets a nerf for seemingly no reason.

Who is their "balancing" aimed at? The core players who play the game all the time or the Twitch TV crowd.

How about the rampant tunneling and camping from killers which IMHO opinion has increased massivly since the new matchmaking was introduced. The devs can't honestly think that being tunneled out of the game within the first few minutes is a fun experience for survivors. I mean tunneling has always been a thing but the last few months it has increased massively. If I was to start this game today as a new player and was being tunneled out of the game every game, how long do you think I would stick with this game?

I know there is no realistic way to combat camping but surely the devs can come up with some solution to discourage tunneling survivors out of the game.

This is of course only my opinion (with maybe a little salt) but I've played this game for 3 years and used to love it, but the way killers play now makes being a survivor unfun and the way survivors play makes being a killer unfun.

They pander the game to the highest amount of players (survivors) which nets them the most money from cosmetics. Let's say out of 1000 players 100 will buy skins. So if you have more survivors than killers, you make more money, because 5000 survs = 500 skin buyers, 1000 killers = 100 buyers. Make survivors the stronger group and more players play them. They are throwing the largest net they can to catch as many fish as possible

  • @Sandwich_Jesus said:

    Because entity said ######### you.

And now feeds off the misery of killers.

This whole time we thought the entity was fed by the hope of survivors.. maybe we have always been wrong and it's been the other way around. It all makes sense now

  • Obviously the pallets migrated from the cold outdoors of gas heaven, to the nice and cozy warmth of the meat plant. Don't blame the devs, blame the changing of seasons. /S

  • The chances of that happening every single game are slim to none. It happened. Move on to the next game and forget about it

  • Ranks don't mean anything other than how much you play. That's always been how they are but now even more so than ever. They literally do not have anything to do with skill

  • So you're saying that when you played a killer you've hardly maybe even never played, you got baby survivors, and when you played killers you are far more comfortable with, regardless of not playing killer a lot you are still more familiar with them, you got stronger survivors?

That sounds like exactly what the devs have stated they want to happen.. I'm not understanding your issue

This discussion is not for any of you then. Simple as that. Lol?

  • Well, you could just stop caring about mmr. There's no reward for being high mmr. There's no incentive to be high mmr. Theres no leaderboard, and there's no recognition. Unless maybe you're a bigger streamer. But even then, who cares? Worrying about being a high mmr is pointless. It's a party game. Have fun with it.

Of course maybe the way you have fun is stressing about being high mmr. If that's the case, you do you. Everyone has their own preferences

  • Tbh, I just afkd in front of tangled hooks and waited for survs to farm. Was boring but I wasn't gonna rip my hair out trying to get it done naturally

  • So it seems from this discussion that the answer is overwhelmingly negative response to boons. I guess we can just hope devs pick up on the vibe

Ok. How about the title question? Are there any legitimate play testers, not including the ptb, but actual testers working for bhvr. and if so, are they experienced enough at the game to be able to accurately determine if something is viable in terms of strength, utility, fairness, etc.?

Pennywise in game could be explained as having a contracted deal with the entity. Pennywise doesnt have to spend energy luring in victims as they are simply provided in the trials instead, and both she and the entity can mutually gain sustenance from pennywise hunting survivors down.

You can't get any points as a survivor to rank up if one person gets chased all game and is camped with noed or if only 2/3 people get hooked all game and then you leave them to die. Most times noed is involved it's a game where a Killer can't win chases and then survivors gets stuck on gens which don't give you enough points to rank up so in order to get points "smart survivors" have to go and run around looking for noed which is risky depending what the killer is doing just to be able to get some points

Ok. But its not as if every single low rank killer is going to have noed. It may be seen more at lower ranks but theres no way its gonna be 100% of them. Also, just do bones. If the killer is that bad that one person can run them for 3-5 gens, then you absolutely have more than enough time to do bones. So its back to my original point, good players will adjust according to the situation and will rank up. Bad players wont and will stagnate.

  • @ItzPixelYT said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/2030870#Comment_2030870

But then the Killer will start getting put with people who stay or can't get rid of Noed like before and then get the kills again which will push them back against the red rank survivors again. Which i think will be a really unfair system for newer players, as they're going against people like me who are devotion level 9 and actually knows what they're doing compared to someone who just got the game at rank 20 and is playing their first survivor match

Youre missing the part where smart survivors will simply leave, thus giving 0-1k. Smart survivors will rank up higher and not be placed with the low killers that are now stuck at that lower mmr. Therefor low mmr killer will get true low mmr survivors and higher mmr survivors will get higher mmr killers. in the beginning, sure its gonna be rough for that style of killer. But with time, it will sort itself out.

  • @ItzPixelYT said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/2030853#Comment_2030853

Again, this has nothing to with me playing against Noed. It's lower rank killers who i'm worried about who will leave the game and stuff because they can't play against red ranks. But the game is putting them against red ranks because they're getting kills with noed. Then they're getting ran left right and center and then they DC being frustrated they can't get anyone while gens are flying. You see my point? It's not fair on them to play against people who actually know what they're doing compared to the usual lower ranks they get put with.

Ok, but at a certain point these higher rank survivors are going to be just leaving at realizing theres noed. So if they're any good, the killer should be getting 1k max. Meaning his mmr will decrease. Or it should anyway. And if the survivors feed any more than that 1k, they really arent that good to begin with, so its more than likely that killer would have had a few good chases at least. It may take some time but mmr will sort people out

  • @ItzPixelYT said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/2030719#Comment_2030719

A MMR based off NOED? It's not exactly skill based. I feel bad for the Killers who are in lower ranks who want to have fun and play and instead they get put with Red rank survivors who can run them for such a long time because they don't know how to counter it. I played 5 killers in a row with NOED. 2 Dc'd and the other 3 got 1 Kill...it's not balanced matchmaking in my eyes.

Thing is bud, if they only get kills off noed, theyre mmr will stagnate at the same level as survivors that cant clear noed / totems. Theyre at the same skill level at that point. As a killer if you can only get kills with noed, lets just say for arguements sake, youre at an mmr of 4 / 10, 10 being the best. Then on the flip side, if youre a survivor that consistently dies to noed because you refuse to learn to play around it or against it, then you are also at the mmr level of 4/10. So it evens out. The killer who refuses to change strats and learn better play will stagnate at 4. And the survivor who refuses to change strats and learn better play will stagnate at 4. The idea of getting better at a game is learning to adapt to situations as they come up and constantly be trying to out maneuver the enemy.

I underatand Metas are a thing, but if a meta was the be all end all, you wouldnt have any reason to play anything as it would just be "oh this guy is full meta, he auto wins". But that's not the case. Take a Moba for example. If meta was all there was to winning, tournaments would be pointless, as a game could simply be decided in the pick ban phase and no gameplay needed.

The point is, learn to adapt. Learn to putplay the situation at hand. Always be looking at ways to improve

  • Oh Sluzzy, what would the forums do without you and your top tier bait tactics. Kinda surprised more people havnt caught on to you yet.

  • I cant imagine trying to play controller blight. On m&k though I dont change my dpi to anything crazy and do just fine. Just make better adjustments when you rush

  • Tbh when I play blight I get around 30k pts near every game. The rush hits give a very nice amount of points, as well as just rushing in general to get around.

  • I had made an discussion about thia and explained why Billy is still strong and that the only people having problems with him now are people that just arent as good at him as they want to think. Billy is still easily low to mid A tier when played optimally. Hes just harder now to curve with, and no more instasaw. Also the overheat but thats honestly laughable. Youll never overheat if your even halfway good with him. Like, you have to absolutely be trying to overheat to have it happen. People quit playing because of a mix of herd mentality as well as bads that only ever used instasaw.

  • Its a great idea but it would be incredibly hard to implement.

  • Just use breakout and whatever else you want as perks. Then use a med kit with purple heal bottle thing.. cant remember what its called. Be at full health, find the person being chased and wait for them to go down and get picked up. Attempt to body block the killer on the way to the hook, take a hit while doing so. Pop the heal thing. Take a second hit blocking the killers path. If needed, take a third hit. By then the person will have wiggled off.

I did this my first attempt. Easy peazy lemons be squeezey.

  • Just DBD doing DBD things. Play enough and youll rank back up anyway. Tbh its best to just not even think about your rank. Just ignore it, play to play, and check on it every so often. Youll see it improve with time

  • This is some top tier bait.

  • @EntitySpawn said:

I wouldn't mind chapters if they was interesting, offered new things or at least included useful and interesting things but alot of the time the killer is pretty weak especially from a console view. Their addons suck, no map and the perks are useless half the time, I dont think I see any DLC perks used on killers all I see is a mixer of pop, corrupt, ruin, sloppy, undying, bbq etc. Like what about all the others? So trash they will never be used. Only chapters I Care for now are licensed ones or if the killer is actually fun and powerful. I'm not playing bully the bad killer

Pop, corrupt, ruin, undying, and bbq are all dlc perks though?

  • Clearly youre missing the absolute genius that is BHVR.

    /s

It really seems like they think trickster is strong and they refuse to hear that hes really not. Also theyre pulling a classic bhvr move and NOT listening to the majority of feedback, because they're already doing a pretty good job.

Honestly I think theyre afraid to make more strong killers because if they make them too strong (and simple) they end up with a freddy situation where everyone (most people) wants him nerfed, and bhvr agress hes performing too well, but they dont know how or why or in what areas, thus creating more work for them. And they really dont like work. Especially with its work that involves listening to the community and games playerbase. Because thats incredibly difficult I guess.

  • That was kinda hard to read, my dude. Lots of very disconnected thoughts.

Imagine saying engravings were a CRUTCH, LMAO.

If anything was a god damn crutch it were the addons that reduced charge time, definitely not engravings

Also, engravings not needed for curving? Yeah bro, let me give the survivor 2 mins to react to my curve or give them enough time to get around the corner. I lost count how many times I wished I had doom engravings instead of Death engravings since that extra speed would've made the difference.

Meanwhile, Blight's rush is faster than Billy's without addons.

You have to be trolling with this post. I'm not even gonna take you seriously anymore.

Or are you just better than everyone here?

Imagine saying Billy is A tier lmao.

I don't even remember the last time I've seen a DECENT Billy as survivor that knows what a curve is. Most are M1 or they'll only rev once they're breathing down your neck. Even then, they miss...

    -------------

If what you were saying is right, you'd have more people agree with you but looks like you can't break more than 2 upvotes per comment & your main post is only 3 upvotes. Ignore this fact then.

People have been making the silliest arguments. Just cuz yall are bad billys and cant play without OP ######### to carry you, doesnt mean billy is bad.

Do you curve in loops? Do you mindgame with the chainsaw in loops? Have you ever used double engravings on Billy after the rework?

Curving short loops successfully is near impossible, ill give you that. Mindgaming via fake rev however, is incredibly easy. I stated in my original post that its still very much a thing. And yes, ive tried double engravings. Its not good. You are missing the point though. Ive stated multiple times in this discussion that using engravings is harder than it was before. Thats fine. You can still curve without them. They made some curves easier. Thats fair. But they are not nor have they ever been needed.

Oh, Billy is a solid killer. There's just not much reason to pick him.

    Want mobility? Play Blight.

Want an insta-down all the time? Play Bubba.

    Want to snowball? Play Oni.

Want a Jack-of-all-trades? Sure, but be warned, the add-ons are terrible and we've restricted the use of your power... the power that requires/encourages experimentation because reasons.

Relying on addons is a silly way to play. Base kit Billy is perfect. If you wanna say others are better because they have better addons.. like alright, why ever play anyone but iri and belt huntress

    You clearly haven't used engravings

I honestly want to see a match of yours and see how you play....

If you claim to be so good.

You've never been cucked by the reworked trees & obstacles hitboxes I take it ?

Ive had randon branches stop me 2 times. Thats it. They really arent as big an issue as people wanna say. As for the engravings, I stated in my post that they are slightly harder to use now. However, they are not needed for curving. They help. But not needed. They are a crutch. They helped bad billys before the rework and now bad billys cant play billy.

Bud, if youre actually overheating the saw and youre not doing it on purpose, youre a bad billy. Plain and simple. You can be a good killer in general. I didnt say youre not. But you are a bad billy. Thats all there is to it.

  • If you really need the points and wanr to sacrifice a perk slot for them, sure.

Once again. His changes only affected people who were bad with him to begin with. I play him at reds, against reds all the time, and I land saws consistently. Jukes happen. Im not a god. But even still, ive never over heated while trying to saw someone. And if you read some of the replies, multiple people have said they dont overheat even when new to his rework. That literally isn't true.

Everybody knows Legion is a bottom tier Killer, but he is still played a ton. There might be more Legion's now than before his "rework."

People don't play Billy anymore for the same reason they don't play Nurse. The rework added in things nobody asked for and a ton of bugs.

A ton of bugs? Like what? And as stated in the post, his changes only affected people that were bad at him to begin with.
