  • Now I kinda need to know if the new hemorrhage will also rewind deep wounds mending progress. If it does it's quite big because people won't be able to 99 the mending and finish it as soon as Feral Frenzy ends in order to deny the 5th hit.

You think spending your day making endless lobbies for survivors is less toxic than someone using DeadHard?

    lmao

    Of course lol

    You don't?

    Cringe

What you're advocating for is infinitely more toxic than "boohoo a survivor used dead hard and I find that toxic".

    Not really, no.

Well then it is dependent on the lobby to active trial ratio. We know that the survivor/killer-ratio in-game must be 4:1 and out of game during prime time (?) It's closer to 9:1.

So the percentage of killers from the whole player population ranges between 10-20%.

But it should complicated to get the true queue to trial ratio as the state is in constant motion of ending and starting games.

And another point would be dcing/dead survivor that leave an active trial and go back into queue.

Well then it is dependent on the lobby to active trial ratio. We know that the survivor/killer-ratio in-game must be 4:1 and out of game during prime time (?) It's closer to 9:1

    It's actually closer to 36:1.

  • @gendoss said:

So the article even says that the killer numbers are not as they seem because when you queue up for killer you're essentially getting taken into a game immediately so they can't get a good read on it. The numbers are deceptive because there are more killer players than are shown. The numbers that are seen are just the surplus of players, the ones in queues, not the ones in games or lobbies.

There is practically no reason to extrapolate anything from this data because this is only the SURPLUS of players, not the actual amount of people playing the game. Realistically what this means is that there are a lot of games being played which allow a ton of people to play at once and not be queued.

Also am I the only one who thinks that a 5 min survivor queue is not bad? I remember when I played League of Legends in the middle of the night I could be in queue for like 15 minutes.

No, it's even worse than it looks at first glance because of mmr. If killers are getting immediately picked, then chances are they aren't getting fairly matched. The system will only allow a queued party to sit in queue for so long before giving up and matching them with the first killer available. So that SWF bully party with 7K hours each has been waiting for 5 minutes? Nonono can't have that. Here, have fun this Freddy with two perks and 20 hours playtime.

Now after the awful match, how likely will that Freddy be to keep queuing killer? Or playing at all? Or maybe he'll give up on playing Freddy and wipe out the ol Basement Bubba instead. See where I'm getting at?

There are 10x less killers playing than it should be in order for the matchmaking to be healthy. That is so for a reason, because more often than not playing killer feels like pulling teeth. Pulling teeth while a gaggle of idiots tbag around you and mock you. And unless something drastic changes, the issue is only gonna get worse since MMR/SBMM is exarcebating it all. Considering how little the nerfed Samako and how little the nerfed CoH, I'm not saying what about the chances of BHVR getting the memo in time.

I try to complete all the tasks of the archive, but some I can not pass because of the inability to buy a character, or because of stupid tasks that are impossible to complete. I regretted that I decided to buy a rift ticket ahead of time. These tasks are not fun, and this grind makes me unbearably angry.

You should never buy a rift pass ahead of time unless there's something in there that you want to get not matter what. Rather just wait until then end and buy it when you're already done. And if you're not done, then if you what you want is going to be worth what you're not going to get back.

For instance I bought the just before the last challenges were released because I was already level 60 and I was confortable with buying the Amanda outfit for about 300 cells so even if I wasn't able to get even a single level more I'd still be satisfied with my purchase.

You love/hate to see it. I've had players still macro clicking me when I'm on 7 or 8 hooks with 3 or 4 gens left, and no chase has lasted longer than 15-20 seconds. It's like, do you not see what is happening here? You gonna stick with that?

Probably the types that go GG EZ after getting wrecked, too. It's dedication to the bit, I guess.

I had a game just like that yesterday except that they would DC as I was about to mori them. Then they claimed that they "won" because they made me waste 7K for the iri mori. Nevermind that they lost a lot more BPs than that by DCing but they needed their cope I guess.

  • Plague and Legion would probably be the worst combo ever.

  • Knowing who the booner is would come in handy so I know who to tunnel out. It used to be easier back when it was just the Mikaelas.

  • @RaSavage42 said:

But Keys aren't only for escaping... they still have a use for Survivor and Killer auras

Maps are only used for Totems, Gens and Chests

Flashlights are used for Blinds... That's it

Medkits are used for Healing... That's it

Toolboxes are used for Gens and Hooks... That's it

So it's hard to say what's strong and what's weak... Oh and I'm including addons as well

A key with the killer aura reading add-on will completely deny any mindgame at loops. It's incredibly powerful, specially since the effect still lingers for a couple of seconds so all you need to do is tap it to get a fair glimpse of the killer trying to moonwalk or whatever.

yes thats what im saying, keys and flashbangs are weaker than flashlights but flashlights are still garbage if the killer has any idea of what there doing

It's pretty much impossible to prevent a locker+flashlight save against a mildly coordinated team unless you're sporting lightborn.

But a) you don't depip killers if you 4k too fast. You may black pip, but you're not going to depip.

    B) you are the one that insist killers are getting boned and depipping against afk survivors. My original post was not "why do both sides depip if there are afk players". That is an argument and false argument at that, that you brought up.

This is solely and an issue survivors deal with and it's kind of a bunch of baloney that survivors should get punished because the killer is bad or afk. Sure, don't reward survivors with a pip. That's fair, maybe. But punishing survivors because killers want to depip. Sorry, but there is no fair or logical argument that that should be a thing.

Anyone else have thoughts on this? I'd love to hear an actual reason why this is a thing other than bad programming.

You most certainly do depip as a killer if you kill survivors too soon or they are afk. I don't know what else to say to this since you're flat out wrong.

It is an issue for both sides, but even if you don't want to hear about the other side, the answer is still the same. You depip because the game wasn't designed to deal with players going afk or finishing the game too quickly. That's all there is to it.

  • You asked a question and I answered. But you didn't like the answer so you're trying to create some sort of battle here. I'm not trying to win anything, I'm answering you. You depip when the killer goes afk because the game isn't made to deal with afk players or with sides that are too strong/weak compared to the other. That's why you depip when you kill people too fast as killer or when you do gens and leave too quickly as survivor. That's your answer. Whether it happens more often as survivor or not or what you personal experience on the subject is is immaterial.

Your question has already been answered, and I don't know what else you want from this.

  • You're missing the point. You depip when the other side goes afk because the game wasn't designed to have AFK players. And for that matter, you also deppip when the other side is so significantly weaker than you that you finish the game too soon. If the survivors are potatoes or you are so good that you manage to kill them all too quickly, you depip.

  • It's literally impossible not to depip when survivors go afk because you can only get at most 4 hooks and no chases, meaning you will get depipping scores on sacrifice, chase and brutality categories.

You've gotten your answer, I'm sorry you didn't like what you got.

  • Same reason you depip when survivors go afk.

  • It's both a bug and a cheat, but you can't report it because it favors survivors and the devs are survivor mains.

  • I'll accept penalties to facecamping if the following changes are implemented:

    1) Clicking a flashlight more than once every 3 seconds near or in view of the killer will cause the flashlight and add-ons to explode, which will also put the survivor in the dying state

    2) Crouching more than ince every 3 seconds near or in view of the killer will cause the survivor to be inflicted with a 70% slowdown debuff for the next 10 seconds

    3) Clicking a flashlight or crouching at all within 16 meters of an open hatch or exit gate will cause the hatch to be closed and the exit to be blocked for the next 20 seconds, as well as making the survivor exposed and moriable regardless of hook state or offerings

    Do we have a deal?

  • @Roadrunner said:

Do you think this game should have a surrender button. Sometimes there a games where i just stay in a corner and wait for them to end. I think a surrender button would be nice

Um, no. You WILL stay in untill the SWF bully squad that the matchmaking chose is done with you, and you WILL come watch them tbag before they leave! And don't you dare AFK or else.

  • I'm quite a fan of mine if I'm honest. No doubt that's a consensus among the rest of the populace as well.

Even Legion fits more than him. At least Legion looks like survivor and they can trick them. Y'know Trickster is killer but he looks just funny. I am sure half of survivors would take him down at 1 v 1 fight.

I know what you mean but for the record I've got to say lore-wise the NTT buffs up weaker killers and nerfs stronger ones, which is why a highschool girl like Susie can do things like break reinforced pallets with a couple of kicks or easily carry an obese Mexican lady on her shoulders.

The NTT literally makes killers impervious to damage.

  • @MissBehavingX said:

I know what 90% of the killers will have: bbq, pain resonance and dead man's switch. Every game is the same, see a downed one, stop working on the gen cause pain resonance, if you know you are safe continue without triggering dead man's if not leave the gen, rinse and repeat. There's a counter to it and not always its a successful build, it's a strong one but if you know what you're doing its easily countered.

The thing is, I'm not even complaining it's strong or unfair it's just SO BORING and repetitive cause its game after game :/

    SURPRISE ME KILLERS

Then maybe you shouldn't bm, tbag and trashtalk killers that try new things/play low tier killers and end up doing poorly.

Survivors have a field day bullying seven days to Sunday killers who play non-meta perks and killers and then complain about seeing nothing but nurses and blights. The cognitive dissonance is mind blowing.

They are super unfun to play against, if the killer has more than 2 braincells, it´s most likely an easy 4k.

Victor can jump 1 Meter in each direction (above, beneath and behind) you, you will get hit. I know it´s because of the ######### hitboxes from DBD in it´s current state.

Maybe you guys can give me some advice but in my opinion, they have little to no counterplay (with the miserable hitboxes etc.). I played them some rounds (i barely play killer at all), and i had only 4k´s, because it was super easy.

I like the concept of this killer, but the implementation is a dreadful catastrophe. With the upcoming tome and the many killers trying to do the rift challenges, this killer will pop up even more often, and it will suck a lot.

I can't believe people are actually complaining about Twins of all killers now. What's next, Legion is OP? Ghostface? Geez.

BTW Victor is screwed big time by the new DH validation. If the survivor DHs his pounce he will inflict no damage but still fall right next to the survivor, who can then stomp on him for free.

Comes down to matchmaking. Solo is fine when SBMM tries to make a quality match. It unfortunately doesn't do that more often than not. I get a lot of matches that are genuinely unwinnable due to teammates skill relative to the killer.

I'm sure the match looks ok on a spreadsheet, but two of the survivors are too bad to win that game and it feels like there's nothing I can do. It's frustrating. It's a lot better when populations are a bit more balanced. But if I get a long survivor queue, I know I'm probably better off not wasting my time.

SBMM can't exist in an enviroment where there the number of survivors and killers of equivalent skill isn't the same (which is what happens in reality). You either get ridiculously long queue times while the system waits for people of the needed skill to show up or they create a match they know is going to be unfair quickly by grabbing the first doofus that comes by.

And they only make the problem worse with their survivor bias since it creates even less incentives for people to queue up as killer.

What I like is that all the other killers in the game are limited to pallets and walls and do fine. But Nurse is able to completely avoid looping yet she is on the exact same level as the other killers.

I'd love these players to go against someone who is good at playing Nurse, like Otz, and show us how easy Nurse is to counter. I guarantee they would be 4ked over and over again.

Maybe you should make your argument using a streamer that doesn't de-rank and purposely plays at easier time slots to play against potatoes. Of course every killer is going to look OP when you go against yellow perk survivors.

  • @danielmaster87 said:

To be fair, Nurse seems to instantly down sometimes, like you have to Dead Hard preemptively or else she downs you, because there's zero time to react.

That's because Dead Hard is a bad exhaustion perk for going against her. Which is why Nurse is so awesome. She puts all the easy crutches entitled survivors are accustomed to rely on and turns them upside down. We really need more Nurse-like designs in this game.

Borrowed Time is being considered as a fix for Face-Camping and Tunneling-off-hook-till-dead, 2 kill strategies that have no counter except for Borrowed Time and Decisive Strike. If you don't have at least one of those perks, then you have no counter to those strategies. Also consider that both of those perks are behind a paywall, cash with Decisive Strike and bloodpoints for both, so new players have no counter to a killer tactic that is available from level 1.

Everyone knows Borrow Time works as a counter for these two tactics and isn't abusable such as other implementations the developers have attempted.

This is a fix for a game design flaw. It needs to be implemented but should be implemented with a slow-down to gens to balance it out. This fix will only affect face-camping and tunneling-off-hook-till-dead tactics. Every other killer tactic in the game is going to be unaffected.

Everything Bill has needs to be free according to their license agreement with Valve. Borrowed Time is definitely not behind any type of paywall.

  • @Kurri said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/2866727#Comment_2866727

Yeah for the most part. However including that if a survivor takes hatch the killer doesn't lose or gain mmr on that result. Also the killers mmr gain or loss is based on the difference between the killer's mmr and that survivors mmr, so you will relatively stay near the same mmr if the only 2 survivors you kill was the strongest and weakest survivor you were matched against.

That's not actually how it works, your MMR goes up on down solely based on how many kills you've had in the match. The MMR of the survivors have no impact whatsoever on the ammount changed. That was how it was purported to be until it was reverse-enginneered and the devs admitted it was solely based on kills.

  • @Kurri said:

I figured it out. I threw so many games to get my mmr low enough that I can play to have fun, then just sacrifice the strongest survivor and weakest survivor and for the most part I stay around the same mmr.

At least it feels that way.

The MMR system is actually pretty simple.

    For survivors:

Escape through the Exit Gates: MMR goes up

Escape through the Hatch: MMR stays the same

Do not escape: MMR goes down

    For killers

    0-1 kills: mmr goes down

2 kills: MMR stays the same

    3-4 kills: MMR goes up

  • @MonsterInMyMind said:

Sounds like you performed well your MMR went up so it paired you against better players to determine if you could compete you probably didn't perform as well and you're now here asking a question that's been answered many times. MMR is a system which can take you and match you against people with your same MMR, Lower MMR or even Higher MMR, it does this same thing in other games. Welcome to MMR, where everyone will experience sweat matches at some point. Not Playing Killer isn't going to make the sweat just go away. I spent 3 months away from the game, returned, played 3 Hag games and was against the same survivors I was getting prior to leaving. Same with Freddy, got back into Playing him after 4 matches already getting insanely good Survivors. It's the nature of the system.

That is only the case in an ideal scenario where the number of survivors and killers of equal skill is the same. In actuality what happens is that as soon as the system detects that queue times are long because of a shortage of killers/survivors, it forces people into matches that they know for a fact will be unfair to keep queue times down. Since nobody wants to play killer anymore due to the devs' survivor bias, what happens more often than not is that that 4 man SWF bully squad has been waiting for too long so the system grabbed the first poor sob who made the mistake of queueing up to be the designated party clown to entertain said bully squad.
