Damn didn’t know DH had everything to do with the reason people are leaving.. not at all the fact that Camping/Tunneling are running more rampant than ever because all of those baby killers who needed their hand held can now relax and not have to understand mechanics in the game or how to run tiles.
They can now stack passive crutches *clears throat* effects… to slow gens down and slow the game down without much contribution coming from a word called skill.
Yep DH is responsible for all of it. 🙄
@Mert_MK I feel like I’m in the twilight zone.

That doesn't help if you're the first survivor he pops T3 on. Thanks for your suggestion but "jumping in a locker" is not great advice in many cases. Are you going to be at a locker every time he might have T3? Are you going to do that against every Mikey until you know if he has it? Just change the stupid addon.
So, because you got tombstoned, you think it should be erased from the game?

I've always been under the impression that a dead survivor, regardless of method, is a kill for the killer. But everyday I meet more and more survivors who will hide to die to endgame collapse or crawl to a corner where a teammate died so you can't reach a hook to then be bled out, and then proceed to claim that the killer didn't get their 4k or in some cases, that they won.
What's everyone opinions on this? Is it just salty survivors grasping at straws or do you genuinely not consider a kill a kill unless you're hooked.
It's salty survivors grasping at straws. I can't imagine a scenario where I would consider slowly bleeding out in a dark corner or having my soul consumed by spider Cthulhu a victory. Some survivor mains just have a pathological need to ######### talk, say gg and move on.

As the title says, I think the Ebony Mori is just a bit oppressive even with the double hook added to it. I've been seeing more and more ebony moris in the game, not sure why. Regardless, it has made me realize how annoying they are in the hands of a good killer. Pair that with the absolute abysmal matchmaking and you have some regularly unfun and terrible games.
I am saying this as a killer main who plays survivor sometimes. I know how unfun moris can be, I would be happy to only have the green and yellow Mori in game. The ebony just feels like overkill. Keys got taken away, now consider removing the ebony Mori.
I fully expect to get a percentage of angry killers trying to tell me off in the comments. You're welcome to do so, but it doesn't make my argument any less valid. For those who are capable of reasonable discussion, I look forward to your comment.
But........they don't do anything. They can only be used when you're on death hook, meaning you were a short jaunt from spiderville anyway. How on earth can that be considered oppressive?

Why are you queueing up in the first place then? Playing killer, most of my matches have people kiling themselves on hook or DCing, regardless of what killer I play or what perks I bring. Like what is it they want?
They want killer nerfs and survivor buffs, and they're inventing a "crisis" to justify them. Just look at the second and third posts in this thread I mean, they're not even being subtle about it.
-
@[Deleted User] said:
My frustration has nothing to do with Dead Hard. Matchmaking for solo queue is worse than it has ever been. The games aren't even winnable most of the time because teammates are clueless to the point that they're starting chases at the gen they're working on and then also dying at the gen in progress. The killer has 4 or 5 hooks on teammates before a gen is completed and I haven't even seen the killer yet. There's literally nothing I can do to overcome that as a player. And it's doubly frustrating as a survivor who was above the soft cap as recently as the Dredge update. I can't climb in MMR. I can't get better solo teammates. There's literally nothing I can do to win these games.
Bring keys man. That's what I've been doing. And burn those offerings that make the hatch spawn in killer shack.

@ACleverName4Me said:
Even otz said this.
But seriously if the devs roll back the killer buffs for breaking and attack cooldown by 5% but keep the less speed boost as it is I think survivors would stop complaining
No. First off, i don't think that would stop them from complaining. But even if it did what precedent would that be setting? Then next time there is a balance change they don't like survivors will just do it again. Why not, if it keeps working?
How many completely survivor sided patches have killers endured? Without quitting or going afk? If we can do it they can too, they're just not used to getting the short end of the stick, so they're actually outraged a patch wouldn't favor them.
They can adjust to one killer sided patch. In a week or two everyone will have moved on to something else anyway.
As an aside I had decided after all this time I was finally going for the rank 1 survivor achievement. Man, did i pick a bad time. It may not be possible in this environment but I'm hoping once I get to gold I'll have teammates who actually play the game. I've had a thrower or quitter in probably 80% of my matches.

@Adaez said:
Survivors almost never got 30kbps in the past,40k might even be impossible.
When I play good and have a good game, that's very rarely when you play soloq.
You still get less than 30k bps even if you escape, the games just go too fast and the survivor bp gain from objectives is too litle to get more than 30k bps ever.
I did see a survivor hit 40k, but I was farming with them. 1 survivor had dc'ed one killed themselves on hook at 4 gens so i farmed with the other two. The amount of pallet stuns/saves they got, along with cleansing totems and doing 4 gens, no there is no way you're hitting that in a normal game unless BHVR increases the points for survivor actions. A lot.

@Mekochi said:
TL;DR at bottom
Okay so I see a few killer mains saying survivors are purposely killing themselves on hook/disconnecting to inflate kill rates. So we're going to go over to see if this is truth or bunk.
So first addressing the disconnects, developers have already confirmed, disconnecting does not apply to the kill rates as it's a disconnect, not a kill. It makes sense for it to work like this as they not only steal away bp a killer would get if it was an actual kill, but also can screw over the team.
Now, killing themselves on hook. I haven't seen much of this myself when playing survivor except once every 15 or so matches, and when I do decide to play killer, it's also very rare. But I doubt it's to inflate kill rates, I don't know where the big conspiracy came from, but if someone can tell me, that'd be great. I mainly see survivors dying when they're in solo-queue, not doing gens against full slowdown build, or just plain giving up against certain killers. Now I don't condone this behavior, but I don't think they're just in a conspiracy to inflate kill rates.
What I have noticed though when some people kill themselves on hook/disconnect is because of things out of their control.
We'll start with disconnects, sometimes the game will randomly disconnect players and say "No Connection Found" despite everything else functioning perfectly fine and they don't get the indicator in the top left corner either.
Now with the hook situation, sometimes the survivors do kill themselves on hook, but I don't think it's as often as people say, just like how before the update not every squad is a bully squad. Our brains tend to function in a way that remembers our negative experiences with something over the positive, it's just part of being human so I won't fault anyone for that. But on the survivor end of the spectrum, I've noticed an influx in killers tunneling/camping.
So Tunneling & Camping are strategies I do realize this, but some survivors will tend to kill themselves on hook and just move to the next match when faced against this, this was how they'd retaliate even before the update. So this can cause kills into inflate. But if killers run full slowdown build, paired with this tunnel and camp strategy, and the survivor doesn't kill themselves on hook, it still would result in their death. Because now gen times being increased and the hook times not being changed to compensate makes it difficult.
I've noticed this, and if a survivor disconnects/dies before 3 gens are done, and the other survivors also have hooks, they are less likely to escape. I also made a post with the experience of solo queue survivors and why solo queue survivors are also struggling there. This isn't to blame anyone, but I don't think this is the conspiracy it's being made out to be.
TL;DR - I don't think there's a conspiracy going on here, there are many different factors that come into play which depends on the killers play style, how efficient the survivors played against said play style, ect.
I just had a match as artist that was over pretty much before it started. Kate killed herself on second hook and Dwight went afk with 4 gens left. I said f it and started to farm with the last two survivors. Dwight came back from making his sandwich or whatever, saw he was still alive and dc'ed immediately. The other two left out the gate with plenty of points(I had a flan ffs).
No camping. No tunneling. No bm.
Okay whatever, right? Queued up for a game of Plague and pretty much the exact same thing happened.
For something that's unintentional I dunno man it seems pretty consistent

Huntress, Oni, Blight, Nurse and Pig seem to be a lot more popular, at least in my games.

I don't know, I had never faced a huntress that did that, but that's not the only thing that made them dc
it's a set of things
if they both went down with 5 gens still, the survivors probably felt powerless knowing that their gen take now up to 90+ seconds to get done with a powerful and angry 2 feet tall huntress after them.
It's only logical
I wouldn't be scared of a 2 foot huntress I would find that quite adorable 🥰

There are zero streaks for survivors unless they are getting carried in a herculean SWF w/ 3 friends and military style voice comms.
I doubt any of them could pass 10+ escapes SoloQing or playing with just 1 friend.
Meanwhile, high level killers can essentially decide how many they want to kill before a match even starts all the while still reading twitch chat and responding to donations and subs in the middle of the game......
Everything is all balanced though, right ?
Do you think you might be exaggerating just slightly? What is it with survivor mains and hyperbole anyway?
Zero solo streaks for survivors? Zero? Noob3 would like a word with you.

If I'm wanting to win any hearts and minds it's the solo q survivors that are being pegged hard with this update. To quote the ghost of Christmas present in Scrooged, "Sometimes you have to slap them in the face just to get their attention!"
Well, at least you read Dickens I guess. What awakening are you trying to give your fellow survivor mains though? "Hey guys for the first time in half a decade a patch doesn't favor us, it's time to mutiny!!". This ongoing temper tantrum is making you guys look BAD man. And in the end it's going to accomplish nothing except show people the reputation survivor mains have is well deserved.

I play solo survivor (and killer). There's never been a time where I had no chance of losing. If you're interested, though, SupaAlf streams his Nurse gameplay and is at 290+ consecutive wins. He started the streak well prior to the patch so it's guaranteed -- no chance of losing -- to reach 300. And 400, 500. So much for the invincible solo survivor.
I would certainly hope if you do something for a living you would be good at it! If I were to look up say, streamer survivor escape streaks I'm sure I'd find something similar. Myself, I play the game as more of a hobby. As I'm sure you do as well. So what does that have to do with anything, really?

Because a lot and I mean a great majority of survivors have put a good deal of money into this game. They look at it as an investment in hopes that eventually the game will come back around and be as fun as it once was for them. They don't want to give up and feel like it's a total loss. Which is a good argument against having any kind of paid crap, (and I do mean crap in the case of DBD), in a game.
Define "fun". What makes a game of dbd "fun" for you? Also if any devs were to chance upon this thread you're doing an excellent job of winning hearts and minds.

I personally think survivor needs some QoL basekit updates to improve the survivor experience much as killer got some much welcomed changes to improve theirs. For example, a basekit Kindred and an ability to view each other's loadouts before the match begins to improve coordination and strategy amongst survivors that cannot communicate.
I also think that the Thana change should be reverted to pre-update percentages (the increase in gen time is already a strong buff for this perk). I think the DS stun time should be reverted to five seconds (an anti-tunnel perk should adequately punish the killer for tunnelling. I think the endgame change was justified. But for a perk that only activates providing the killer decides to single you out and is otherwise a wasted perk slot it should be a little stronger. Maybe four seconds as a compromise?)
I think Pop can remain as is for now but Ruin should be reverted to at least the old percentage gen regression if it is now going to deactivate after a kill. As of the moment it is worse than all other gen regression available. I was a fan of Ruin because it encouraged killers to keep up gen pressure rather than camping/tunnelling. Now I fear it will never be seen again.
That's my thoughts. You're welcome to say that no changes are needed if that's how you feel. Please don't lynch me in the comments.
(Laurie skins are also a much needed addition to the game. I will reinstall immediately if she gets outfits :D)
I would like to see more Laurie skins too, but I think that's a license thing. As far as the patch I'm taking a wait and see approach. I've noticed a huge improvement in chucklehead teammate survivability and we're like what, 3 days in? Maybe it's because I'm ranking up or maybe it's because survivors are finally settling in to the new meta.
Those first 48 hours post patch, let us never speak of them again.🤫

Reduce the consumption rate of item charges by 15/20/25% for you and allies within 8 metres of range.
The wording isn't exact, but if "consumption rate" is synonymous with "healing efficiency," then Streetwise nullifies Botany's nerf.
Has anyone run this combo? If you have, what did you think of it? Was it worth it to you to devote two perks to faster healing with a medkit?

There are so many times where you will outplay a killer with Dead Hard, only to be screwed over by one extra milisecond. It should not be reverted to 1 second since that gives you basically the same distance as before, but raising it to 0.6 - 0.75 sec could really help. Coming from a killer main that decided to play survivor for a little.
As a killer main, I wouldn't mind this. No disrespect to BHVR but they need to learn the difference between nerfing a perk and rendering it useless.

You'd find it ironic then, when I say that I mainly play Killer.
And from a Killer's perspective, the fact that Nurse and Blight are the two best Killers (inarguably and arguably, respectively) makes it so that there's less character diversity at higher to top levels. Since these two are clearly the best, players who want a competitive advantage will gravitate towards them since most Killers don't tend to have anything in their kits comparable enough to even hold a candle to these two.
Spirit, maybe, since she's arguably the second best in the current patch (thanks to a few changes), but other than that, you'd be hard pressed to find a Killer remotely close to the viability of the two.
And any other for the sake of being competitive is practically a waste of time since you're actively gimping yourself to play who you want to, not who you know is the best and the likely necessity for you/your team.
What I speak is purely from an observational standpoint of players who verse these characters at at least high level, in addition to watching high level players of those same characters in a majority of their matches.
You mainly play killer, ok.....
Show me your killers? So I at least know I can take you seriously? I'll even trade you, see?

At some point, if the game isn't fun, you are asking them to do something they don't want to do. It's kind of like your boss asking you to come in on your day off.
DCs are crazy right now, true. But the game feels different. Shifted from a chase-based to efficiency based. Us solos are not efficient. When I see the match shift to unwinnable I just go for chases and hope someone gets hatch. That shift happens a lot earlier now.
Maybe you should adjust your goalposts for what you consider "unwinnable". With killers being buffed it's going to be much more rare to have what was considered a normal dbd match before, where the killer gets absolutely curbstomped. I've been playing mostly survivor since the update hit and have had some real squeakers, including one where all 4 of us barely got out with everyone on death hook. It was much more exciting than the previous patch survivor matches where sometimes I'd hardly see the killer. I keep trying until I'm dead or the last one left.

As long as it’s the best strategy it’s naive to expect people not to take advantage of it. That’s like telling all old deadhard users not to use it because it’s scummy to be able to extend chases for double the time because you pressed a button. The only time this doesn’t apply is if people are taking advantage of exploits. The problem is the developers enable these strategies. Changes need to happen, and until then don’t expect behavior to change from either side.
Yeah but aren't you a survivor main? Aren't you doing the very thing survivors throughout the community are reeeee'ing about at the top of their lungs? Besides you never learn how to play killer properly camping and tunneling you'll never learn when to drop a chase or proper time management or how to force a 3-gen, amongst other things.

Although arguable, this hasn't changed even with the latest patch, since now Blights and Nurses have an easier time in taking out Survivors due to Generators taking longer to complete altogether.
But this isn't the only problem that these two Killers have. There's plenty of problems that the community has with them that seemingly have not been addressed, and that they would like to have addressed.
So Nurse and Blight are a problem. That fact is evident. But I want to detail why they are a problem and why the community greatly dislikes playing against them, in the hopes that this will finally get through to the developers that they need changes. The numbers and "raw data" may show one thing, but the players themselves show another thing entirely.
I'll start with The Nurse, who is easily the best Killer in the game.
- The Nurse has the ability to completely ignore the fundamentals of the game because of her Blinking ability. While this is unique in the fact that she can simply go through walls and objects, this gets extremely irritating considering that there is little to no counterplay against this ability.
- Further complicating this are her add-ons. The two most-talked about add-ons of hers are the range add-ons, the Heavy Panting and Kavanagh's Last Breath add-ons. These add-ons inadvertently increase the speed at which her Blinks travel, and thus reduce the amount of time it takes for her to exit the Blink stage. This is a feature that is currently not even listed in the description of the add-ons themselves and many assumed they were an unintentional feature.
- This was later confirmed not to be unintentional by one of the developers, leading to significant backlash over the fact that Nurse has the ability to become even more powerful without the effect ever being listed.
- Another point of contention amongst the players is the fact that her Blink attacks are considered Basic Attacks, not Special Attacks. Probably the single most common suggestion that the community has ever given about Nurse is to just change it to be the reverse--Blink attacks are now "special attacks", not "basic attacks". The reason being that Nurse has the ability to scale long distances and use Perks that require the activation of Basic Attacks.
- Another, often not-talked-about reason that people want to see Nurse's Blink become a special attack is simply because most attacks that have you currently active in your power, like Pig's Ambush, Legion's Feral Slash, Oni's M1 while in Blood Fury, and even Blight's Lethal rush, are all Special Attacks.
- Because her post-Blink lunge attack counts as a basic attack, Nurse gains the ability to use Perks that should, in no way, be activatable by her under any means due to how powerful she already is without them, and it only makes her even more unnecessarily powerful. These Perks include, but are not limited to, Dragon's Grip, Hex: Devour Hope, Hex: Haunted Ground, Hex: No One Escapes Death, Jolt, Make Your Choice, Rancor, Sloppy Butcher, and probably the most offensive case, Starstruck.
Nurse basically has the complete ability to break the game in a way that makes playing against her fundamentally terrible as a Survivor, while also making her a practical must-pick in order to have an edge in higher levels of play.
Now onto The Blight, who is arguably the second best Killer in the game in the current patch:
- Blight has an incredible amount of mobility and unintended mechanics that allow him to basically catch Survivors off guard or in a way where there are limited escape options against him. His incredible mobility is compounded by the fact that he has exploits such as the "moon tech" and the "hug tech". However, he's arguably seen as fun because of these, though mostly considered unfun because of having somewhat of a general lack of counterplay or forcing Survivors into a specific, repetitive gameplay loop just to win.
- I've decided to use the term "exploit" for the two aforementioned aspects of Blight's gameplay, as the "hug tech" has basically been all but confirmed an exploit, and I would assume the "moon tech" would also be one.
- This is even further compounded by Blight's add-ons. Unlike The Nurse, who had only two problematic add-ons, Blight has several add-ons that put him on a completely new level and can make him feel just as unbearable, while reducing add-on variety to his kit.
- His speed add-ons, namely Blighted Rat, Blighted Crow and Adrenaline Vial, all individually provide him with some substantial speed buffs, with the former two doing so over the course of his rushes. When combined with other add-ons, however, this effect becomes overwhelming to Survivors on multiple different maps, since Blight will be able to simply move through the entire course of the map and inevitably find a Survivor, or at best, hit them.
- Then there is his Alchemist's Ring, which rewards Blight with the ability to instantly recharge his Rush tokens as soon as he hits a Survivor with a Lethal Rush attack. But there in lies the problem. He regains all of his tokens instantly upon hitting a Survivor, which can lead into an extremely quick downing of a Survivor if they have little to no defenses, due to there not being significant enough of a distance between Blight and the Survivor.
- Because of the current 6.1.0 mid-chapter patch nerfing Survivor sprint burst durations on hit, this is also made worse overall.
- And of course this wouldn't be a Blight add-on problem if he didn't have probably one of the worst designed add-ons in the game: Compound 33. This add-on effectively gives you the ability to have built-in Enduring and Spirit Fury on any rush, while also slowing the Survivors down, while also no longer needing to use the Rush attack to destroy a pallet, while needing to consume only one token for that pallet. I don't think I need to say anymore.
- Now, thanks to Blight being one of the aforementioned Killers where his M1 attack during his Power is considered a "Special Attack", he doesn't have the capacity to use Perks like Nurse does that completely cause him to become even more busted than he already is.
So Blight also has the ability to really relegate Survivors into a certain style of play and punishes most Survivor players at most levels because of his ability to take them down with relative ease, owing to his high mobility and use of exploits, as well as the utilization of various add-ons to make the experience even more miserable for most Survivors.
So Nurse and Blight are a problem to Survivors in general; they're typically powerful characters who are basically the only truly viable ones in higher levels of play. Even with the patch that was recently made to reduce the overall gap between Killers, these two are still an issue.
Which leads me to ask the developers one question: When are they getting changed?
(Also, when are we getting Nurse's lobby and chase music?)
You're actually speaking ONLY with the survivor perspective in mind. Please play some killer.

Like I don't doubt the fact the kill% is increasing more and more as each day passes, but I wonder if it's rapidly increasing or passively slowly increasing?
I feel it can easily have gone up at least 10%+ and from maybe a month from now it might end up being something like 30%-40%+
Ever since the patch dropped I have always ended up with a 2K or more (Majority of my matches I gotten 4Ks or 3k with last guy escaping by hatch)
How many of your wins had a survivor giving up dcing or killing themselves on hook?

BBQ nerf feels like one of the reasons why killers are stronger now, in addition to other buffs.
Most killers were running BBQ to get more bloodpoints, only few of them were actually using aura reading to their advantage. Now when there is no extra bloodpoints they just slap extra slowdown instead - basically, the same effect as extra perk slot, which would be a massive buff for either side.
And another thing - without BBQ there is no reason to leave the hook to patrol gens far away, so camping and going back to the hook is more appealing now.
Discuss?
This is totally completely true. I've had BBQ on for YEARS. It's like on top of the other killer buffs I got an additional perk slot.

I just had a legion game where an extremely obvious bully swf just simply gave up partway into the match because they simply didn't want to play with the gen speeds I had forced them to. I was running thana, thrilling tremors, surveillance, and oppression. They finished one gen but it was obviously going to require too much of a time investment for them to continue the game, and they weren't going to get the satisfaction of stomping on a killer, so they just simply locker-hopped to annoy me until I finally hooked them all.
These are the kind of survivors that are going to be very vocal about how the balance in this patch is too killer-sided. So enjoy your slowdown builds while they last, I can't imagine bhvr not listening to the bully swf people who want to be able to feel invincible again.
I've been saying this since the patched dropped. Obviously it's a patch that favors killers. But is it an unbalanced patch? How can we tell when survivors give up, DC or kill themselves practically every match? Because a game of survivor might take a bit of effort now and isn't a total walk-over. Incidentally, I did have a survivor match last night where we got completely stomped by an oni, I mean no holding back no mercy whatsoever. A little tilted I messaged him and asked him why he went so hard when the balance changes were still fairly new. His response?
"Just trying to get some wins in before BHVR nerfs killers into the ground again lol"
Take that how you will.

Yeah people always like to say “DBD isn’t a horror game anymore” and I feel like most of that has to do with the artstyle in the maps. Fog is all but gone and the game is generally very bright now.
I miss the fog, the lighting, the whole horror movie aesthetic😭. The old artstyle had a real horror movie vibe and I wish they'd bring it back. What's scary about eyrie of crows? It looks like a valorant map.

I think this game making people lose they minds.
We don't get killer sided patches much round here. It's apparently created quite a stir.
