Does not change the fact that if the Survivors try to do Gens and you are only scaring them away without any intention to actually chasing them, that YOU as the Killer, are holding the game hostage at this point.
At some point both parties have to commit to try to get their Objective done. For Survivors it is to try to repair Gens even if the Killer is in a strong 3-Gen. And for the Killer it is to commit to a chase, risking that the other person might get the Gen done in 90 seconds.
I dunno, when an obvious swf has their best runner try to take you to the strongest point of the map as far away from the gens as possible, chasing is going to be a losing proposition. I'll usually sit on the 3 gen until they're fully regressed, pretend to start chasing the runner and double back to try to catch one of the weaker survivors out. If I catch them, hook them right in the middle of the 3-gen.
If not, repeat.
I mean, why take obvious bait and play into their hands?

@PyramidFootLicker said:
I mean if you're confident about your chases then hell yeah power to you but playing solo queue I see many people getting screwed over by lethal, so much so that even when I play with a friend who's streaming they think a killer is sniping them or friends are confused on how killers can find them almost instantly because the killer has like a bunch of aura revealing addons and perks stacked with Lethal.
I sometimes run it with darkness revealed but even with the buff idk if it's worth a perk slot(or two if you want it to last longer than the first ten seconds of the game).
You load in as killer. You look at the opposite end of the map.
There is a survivor there!
I just don't get the appeal atm, maybe later I'll try to work it into an aura build or something....

Some of us come from other games where teabagging is absolutely not an insult, and is often hullo or something friendly. Personally, anyways. Flashlight clickeys are clearly hostile, but maybe instead of "teabagging", which could either be interpreted as unsportsmanshiplike or horny, maybe we could look at it as the glorious results of daily leg days?
And also, don't you think it's really cute?
Like if an old grandpa like Bill did squats at 20 reps per minute, that'd be downright amazing/hilarious,
and if a pretty lady did that in front of you, wouldn't it actually be a pleasant sight?
I'd be worried for their knees, but it'd be nice to see, and that feeling kinda translates into games too.
I love this community😘 genuinely interesting takes on pretty much anything

If I see someone sandbagging or doing that annoying fake unhook thing they're going to have my undivided attention until they're out the match. It's always over something petty too, like "you stole my chest item!" Smh

Hi, testimonials and what all aside, this game has become a miserable slog for survivors in 90% of matches. Even with the rollback of some perks and the addition of buffs and nerfs. It feels even that the numbers reflect the state of this with ever decreasing steam statistics and the bandaid perks we're given to address problems that many don't seem to be problems. You may hit me with 'get good' or bad survivor blah blah blah all you like the fact of the matter is, if the game isn't fun anymore for a great deal of its playerbase then you get the declining numbers month by month.
Every game I have encountered endless camping/tunneling just miserable times playing. If your intention was to make a game you HAVE to be excellent at or don't play, congratulations you've made it unplayable for casual players. Or people who simply do not have the time to invest hours upon hours into the mechanics. (Half of the new killers ignore mechanics anyway, making survivors more and more useless in the fact of these 'tactics.')
If your tactics involve getting it so a player does not get to play the game, then you may want to reinvent the way the game is played. Make some additional tweaks to things. I know it is the nature of a asymmetric pvp based game to us vs. them, to make it so one side is going to have more power in a situation than the other. It just isn't fun right now to play the game as a survivor unless you're at the top of your game. which I admit I am not much of the time. An anger induced long post made shorter: What can be done about the state of things, if people believe there needs to be something done to begin with? I don't pretend to speak for everyone here.
I'm currently sitting at Iri 1 killer, and the survivors I go up against probably don't share your sentiment regarding game balance. Even had a couple 0ks last night while trying my hardest(one of those 0k games was as nurse). Of course as you said, they've probably devoted long hours to learning all the ins and outs of playing survivor and vsing specific killers.
My question is a simple one, what changes would you propose that would improve your experience without changing the experience of killers who vs high level survivors from "frothy sweatfest" to "actually impossible"?

I actually do that a lot. Especially if we as survivors wreck the killer. I gladly give a pity kill.
I had a terrible game as Huntress where I couldn't land a single hatchet to save my life. All gens done with like two hooks. A bunny Feng decided to give me a pity hook with maybe 30 seconds left of EGC.
I had Blood Warden.

As per title. I honestly, unironically, think that Killer is way,way too easy right now. I'm winning so many games it's becoming a slog. I can go up against low prestiges, high prestiges, high hour players, low hours players,90% of the time it's stomp, stomp, stomp. I'm not that good at the game for this to be normal. Killers really seem to be wildly, wildly on the overpowered side ATM.
We need something for the game to tie it back over, imo. Playing survivor has been boring because of tons of solo queue losses and playing killer has been boring because it's too easy to win. I like 4Ks as much as the next person but...it's way too ######### easy this patch..
ADDENDUM:
A lot of people of course disagree with bringing Dead Hard back, which is fair enough,my opnion is a niche one here. I'm just noting that..Killer is kind of easy if you try a little. Remember when Otzdarva tried this 30s AFK challenge PRE 6.1.0?
https://us.v-cdn.net/6030815/uploads/96OC87L4YOZD/image.png
He got 3 kills on average. Now,with the Killer-Buff that patch 6.1.0 even such really average Killers as me can go,pick up a Killer and just..do extremely well over and over and over in their matches if they just decide to play for the win, even a little bit.
Which is what I'm doing because..I like to try and be the best at winning? And.. as I said it's way too ######### easy. Anyone complaining about the Killers being too weak vs that one god SWF with 14 green medkits and on cowshed.. you're not facing that every game. Killer is easy. Survivors need a buff.
Why do I get the feeling you just want to copy dome streamer?
-
@Slowpeach said:
@allMadhere Yup. Should be merely about time or at least hooks and objectives, not outright win/lose.
The other issue too is that some killers are actively punished by the system. Plague and Myers as two examples off the top of my head tend to pip less because they get fewer hits in. That’s just silly.
I usually let the last survivor go. Or the one who carried the team or an obvious newbie. I've been playing this game half a decade I don't need to 4k I don't have ######### to prove. Iri ranks are such a slow painful grind tho I'll go back to getting my ass kicked in Elden Ring.
It shouldn't be like that though 😕

Bro stop. I play all Killers but once you get to gold it's meta or teabag. Artist Cenobite and Nurse are my mains but I still get stomped by swfs on the daily.
Try playing Nurse. Seriously.
It took me a year to get good with her then another year after her nerf.

@Deathstroke said:
3K should be enough for +1 pip if you played well but not too well like killing everyone at start of match. 4K however gives the +2 pip that's why I don't give hatch once I reach iri 4 but once I reach iri 1 I give hatch again. But it's easy to reach iri 1 on killer compared to on survivor. Survivor I maybe reach it on last days before grade reset or don't reach at all.
I don't camp or tunnel even in silver. I still depip if I don't basically farm the survivors which when I've clearly won can't be fun for them.
"Hey Meg I'm going to let you struggle out so I can blink and down your teammates some more while you recover with Sloppy and coulrophobia!"

I’m so fed up of having a team that are just….terrible. Don’t do generators or if they do they’re missing skill checks everytime, are trying to get you to heal them while they’re being chased which goes in hand with running straight to you when they’re being chased, drop every pallet they come into contact with, don’t unhook you or if they do they attempt to heal you underneath the hook while the killer is on them, the list goes on…😂
Maybe this is all to do with soloq. I just don’t want to carry the entire team every game! I’ve just had 8 games in a row where I did every single gen while every other survivor died after I healed them repeatedly, and it’s tiresome. 🥹
I play both survivor and killer and with all the complaints about tunnelling and face camping - I feel like majority of survivors just ask for it sometimes ngl!
I'm an Iridescent killer and a bronze survivor. Bro the difference like my teammates in survivor are totally useless my opponents when I play killer are apparently proteges of Splinter Cell Sam Fisher. And the survivors I actually team with in my lame ass bronze ranks are the ones calling for killer nerfs like ######### bro no.
You suck.
Survivors beat my Nurse.
My Artist will get stomped.
Cenobite will wish he were back in hell..
Stop asking for killer nerfs because you couldn't do that "one cool thing" your fellow toxic survivor main streamer did. Just play the game and get better.

I see a lot of people complaining about killer diversity and it can be a problem. However, you don't often see many solutions besides "buff the weaker killers" "nerd the strong killers" and obviously, that's another argument altogether.
What I want to know is why not be the change you want to see? Play a killer that you want to see more of in game. Other survivors will surely appreciate it. If you win, great job! If you lose, no worries, it's a game, have fun.
Most of the survivor mains complaining about lack of killer diversity don't play killer. Maybe for a daily in ash ranks where they camp and tunnel because they truly believe "Every killer does it!".
Players who actually understand the role know why there isn't a lot of killer diversity.

I have a better build with more consistency if its more your style, I call it
"Absolute Confusion" it gives alot more consistency.
Nurse:
Dark Devotion, Fugitive Chase, Fear Monger, Plaything or Thirdseal (Monitor and Abuse if your feeling spicy)
Third seal used to be one of my favorite perks, but I stopped running it because it would get broken before I got any real value. Survivors hate being blind. The rest sounds good though!
-
Ninja Nurse! Hex: Plaything, Trail of Torment, Dark Devotion and Insidious.
3 out of those 4 perks NO ONE EVER USES. This build is a lot of FUN*.
Pair those perks with "Bad man's Last breath" to give you undetectable after a successful blink attack. Blink grab people off gens while undetectable with Trail of Torment. Troll with Insidious when they go for unhooks or try to cleanse totems. Dark Devotion and Plaything will add to the confusion for even more FUN*!
Can't guarantee consistent results but when it works it works. Enjoy!
*FUN may not necessarily be fun for survivors.

Now that Basekit BT is reasonable I would kill for a perk that provides the Endurance effect to rescuers. It’s not like 10s Endurance for the hooked survivor solves camping. Killers camp hooks to either get the cheap hit on the hooked survivor or on the rescuer. They know proxy camping the hook is the DBD equivalent of shooting fish in a barrel. They’ll always hit something. And even with a good basekit BT teammates in solo queue still hesitate to save because they know there’s a solid likelihood they’ll just end up trading hooks. I think it’s time for this.
This has been tried before. Let's not go there again please.
-
All it really needs is a few QOL tweaks. Hopefully they'll hotfix him in a week or so. In the meantime I'm going to try to work his perks into my other killer builds.
-
@Regulus47 said:
Honestly, I think he just needs his addons nerfed and he's mostly fine! Remove the tombstones, nerf infinite tier 3 to 60 extra seconds instead of infinite, maybe look at jumpscare mirror a bit to make it more interactive to fight. But for basekit I think he's pretty well designed. Maybe bring back that sound effect that lets you know he's about to go to tier 3 but I don't think I'd change him any more than that.
So.......You're saying you would NERF Myers? And that his basekit is A-ok? This is why survivor mains aren't taken seriously. I am curious though, what are your opinions on Artist, Pinhead and Nurse?
-
@Laluzi said:
I've got mixed feelings on Myers getting an update. On the one hand, he is severely underpowered, and also has one absolutely busted addon that does not belong anywhere near 2022 DBD. On the other hand, he has two really great things going for him that I'm terrified they'd lose. One, he's got perhaps the most dynamic, game-changing addon selection of any killer, and the result is that there are many different Myers out there and you don't know which one you're facing until the game is underway. I think that's really cool and it creates an uncertainty factor that really adds to the fear of versing him. Two is that his design, while outdated with modern game flow, is by far the most accurate-feeling licensed killer in the game.
He needs help, but that help has to be applied very carefully. I'd weep if he got the Freddy treatment. Probably the first order of business is to make it so that stalk juice slowly recharges over time and he can't run out, and then find a way to improve T1 so that it's not a straight handicap but rather something Myers can use to his advantage.
I actually like the add-on selection on OG killers like Myers and Hag. Back then the game was more dynamic and unpredictable, you had to figure out what the killer was running and you could really surprise people with your builds. Modern Dbd plays it way too safe, yes we get new perks and killers, but rarely do they really alter the gameplay and if they do they get nerfed.
Look at Reassurance, I never even got to try that one.
Old school Dbd was way more chaotic but chaos beats mediocrity anyway in my book.
-
It would have been a useful meta perk in its previous state but I don't think you can put that one on killers. It was probably nerfed so a toxic 3-man couldn't keep the random on hook all game. I know I wasn't asking for it to be nerfed.

I haven't, yet. But playing against Wesker is so incredibly unfun that I'm losing my ability to care. As I said, for now I'll just not play the game and hope he becomes obscure enough not to ruin DBD for me, but since he's tying nurse for strongest killer I sadly doubt it.
Have you tried playing as him? If you're getting consistently wrecked by Wesker in his current state chances are you wouldn't stand a chance against most of the killer roster.

I'm having a hard time understand why this is a question.... "How are Nurse Blinks Unpredictable?" Can YOU telegraph where they're going to move after their first blink or their second? Maybe behind you? Maybe to the left, the right, a little bit infront of you? Or overshoots and lunges? Does your mind think of these things at lightning quick speed when you face off against her, OR, are you human and understand that a nurse Player that understands the power, even if no less then 50 hours of gameplay with her, could get a 4K with her at any time?
Why would I try to loop a killer that's borderline unescapable, let alone just hold W and run in a straight line......
Please tell me you don't actually try to loop a Nurse. And you should see my killer games when I play her, good survivors know how to counterplay a nurse. Emphasis on "good". I swear, if most of you survivor mains devoted half the time you spend whining for nerfs on the forums to actually improving your skill at the game you wouldn't have trouble with anyone on the killer roster.

I mean I don't blame them. A good nurse is quite literally unbeatable because there is just no counterplay, especially on certain maps where there aren't a lot of high walls (but then again even those hardly stop a good nurse)
I'm a good nurse. And the moment I hit mid gold ranks I come up against plenty of survivors who know how to counter nurse. Maybe don't believe everything you hear?

For killer it's easily Lethal Pursuer, the perk itself lets your early game get going right away and lets some other perks and add-ons get some very big buffs that can let you claim a critical opportunity, I've gotten plenty of value from Lethal + Compound 21, it's such a good perk
For survivor it's Object of Obession, it sells me out sometimes, it may work against me sometimes, but I just love it so much no matter how little it may do for me in a match. It lets me have intel, and knowing what's going on outside your space is so comforting to have. Along with the fact that it counters Lethal, Floods, Add-Ons, anything aura related, you use it too as long as they're detectable. Adds a tactical element I didn't know DBD could have.
Lethal Pursuer, Darkness Revealed and Iron Maiden on Huntress is always a good time😄

I also have a lot of map offerings for The Game(because what killer doesn't?) and yesterday for ####'s and giggles threw on Distressing, Coulrophobia, Thana and Sloppy Butcher with a game map offering. It went pretty much how you'd expect.

Just like killers do with Survivor perks?
First it was Sprint Burst, then Self Care, then D Strike, then Exhaustion perks as a whole, then Balanced Landing, then D Strike again, then Dead Hard, then CoH, and CoH again, and again, and finally, D Strike for a 3rd time.
We already had 50% killrate 1 year ago on Fractured Cowshed which is deemed one of the most Survivor sided maps in the game, yet here we are with patch 6.1.0 and yet killers are still crying to keep their beloved Nurse. Survivors had their turn, now its her turn.
Might I suggest killers try getting better at the game?
See I can play the Us vs Them game too, it aint that hard.
"Survivors had their turn, now its her turn."
Dude the goal is a balanced game, not some tit for tat bs. Remember when everyone was complaining about Deathslinger being completely OP and unfair to survivors? This is the same nurse you were facing back then, only now with more b**ching. She's just the "nerf this" survivor main flavor of the month ATM, in a day or so you'll all be asking for Wesker nerfs.
Or another way to put it, ever play Hunt:Showdown? A ways back they introduced a bow into the game, and within 24 hours the HS forums were filled with posts about how it was completely OP and needed to be nerfed. But it never was, it just seemed that way because everyone, including the best players was running around with one. And if all the best DBD killers start playing optimal Clown you'll be asking for Clown nerfs.
Play some killer and get a grip.

They dont necessarily have to be the best perks, or the worst, just stuff that you might really like. Like for example, Self-Preservation isnt an insane top tier perk, but someone might enjoy it, and they would respond with it regardless of how good/bad it is.
For me, my favorite perks for killer are Dissolution, Dark Devotion, Mad Grit, Zanshin Tactics, Grim Embrace, BBQ, Forced Penance, Self-Care, Gearhead, and Enduring.
My favorite perks for survivor are Smash Hit, Botany Knowledge, Diversion, Deception, Self-Aware, Red Herring (for some tomfoolery), Lightweight, Kinship, and No Mither.
My favorite build for getting better at a killer is Remember me, No Way Out, Blood warden and either Rancor or Noed. You play the whole match with no perks so it's all about using the killers power efficiently, and you still stand a good chance in endgame.
Blood Warden, when it goes right is the most hilarious perk in the game. It's so satisfying seeing a survivor teabag in front of the gate before they realize they're not going anywhere but on a hook.

Me personally and nurse mains might hate me but I say:
1 way to nerf nurse is by making "Spasmodic Breath" basekit. For those who don't know Spasmodic breath makes Nurse 115/4.6 after a successful blink for 60 seconds, that's 1 minute that its a killer you can actually loop freely. I also think that this way they wouldn't have to even rework most of her addons range and recovery can be good for a real reason.
I feel nurse right now does not need her range and recovery addons. How about for her power making her 110 and only giving her 1 blink and a longer cooldown on that blink.
What would you do?
Nothing. I don't know how long you've been playing this game but Nurse was already nerfed. So was Spirit. And Deathslinger. And Freddy. And Hillbilly. All as a result of this survivor main echo chamber that picks a strong killer, designates them "unfair", and dc's/cryposts about them until they wear the devs down. So we've gone full circle and come back to Nurse.
Might I suggest survivors try getting better at the game?

https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/343057/question-to-survivors-who-dc
What I really don't get are people who DC as they're being hooked for the third time, late in the game. Like, why? Do you hate BP? because it sure isn't hurting the killer, and it still feels very much much like a kill. And yes, in most cases, the game still counts it as a sacrifice.
Hell, any DC after a down/hook just feels like submission to me, so I am not sure what the motivation is. Poor impulse control?
Last night a David DC'ed on me in the exit gate during EGC when he realized he was bloodwardened in. He was the last survivor and there were three flans in play. I actually burst out laughing. 😃
That's a lot of lost points for the sake of preserving a fragile ego.

Are there ever moments where you let some or all of the survivors go?
All the time. Usually I'll let the best survivor go if they weren't toxic, or someone who is obviously new. I just now had a trial as Nurse where all 4 survivors were slugged with 4 gens left. I let them all out, I don't have ######### to prove.

In my opinion it's just ridicious to stand in that same spot waiting 30 mins to just get 4K. I would fix remaining generators but I had tome to complete so I just gave myself to the killer eventually what she wanted. Got headnods and hits on hook ofcourse.
How is that less ridiculous than YOU waiting 30 minutes for the huntress to un-ass the hatch when you had a clear alternative and perks optimized to achieve that alternative?

I mean I was thinking the same thing why didn't you do the gens? Then the killer would have three exits to cover instead of one. If it's because you HAD to have that key escape you're just as stubborn as he was in 30 mins I'm sure you could've had a key escape in another match.

Hey, the further away I can hear that awesome chase theme and not be in any danger the better.
Is it confirmed to be 40m? That seems huge. I thought the highest a killer had was 32m.
The chase theme is ace, between that and the attack on titan remix the sound crew is carrying the game. The huge terror radius might actually work in his favor put on distressing and good luck telling where he's coming from.

Considering killers got a very popular meta back with DMS+Scourge Hook, dead hard and self-care should be returned to make survivor gameplay a little more bearable and add some hope and fun back.
This is only one very small baby step to helping ease the misery and lack of motivation of survivors.
Survivor morale is the lowest in the history of DBD.
I have never, once in my life, understood the mentality of a troll. "I just like to get a rise out of people", "I'm furthering discussion where it wouldn't go otherwise because PC etc etc", "You don't have a right to not be offended". Etc etc...
Sure.
All of that is really just a troll admitting they are in fact a sociopath who hates social norms because they can't fathom them, so they try to use whatever hot buttons they can to make everyone around them as misanthropic as possible. Because then they can actually feel fellowship with other human beings. Angry, hateful and confused. Because that's the normal state of human beings right?
Or maybe not, maybe it's just you.

All you good people saying Artist isn't worth it are either moonlighting survivors or bottom tier killers. She's A-list behind Nurse and Blight and I daresay she's taken Spirit's old spot. If you can't do well as killer with Artist I humbly suggest now may be the time for some self evaluation.

Onryo. I knew she was weak on release but assumed she'd get buffs. Then she didn't.
