  • I used to be in the "leave DC's alone" camp. But taking a mental break from the game and seeing clearer now that I'm not constantly dipped in the toxic cesspool that is this game's community - I've changed my mind.

Most DC's I see are clearly ragequits. It's time to put a stop to that. And you can start with the streamers that do it.

  • From stealth players, no change

From people who like the chase, they'll enjoy it.

Me, I never used him as I was on a break, so I got nothing to lose with his rework either way.

  • The old maze tiles - I don't miss that at all.

And if you think bleedouts were bad now - camping sabotuer's spines to punish them would drag a match out FOREVER.

    And omg... so many pallets.

  • Meanwhile, while watching my favorite trapper in his stream, we're at 15 survivor disconnects for the day.

######### happens too much on both sides. They really need to be more militant about putting a stop to that crap.

  • My unpopular opinion?

Stealth is actually fun. Which is why when i play, I don't play chase perks, but information perks that let me decipher where my friends and the killer is. I prefer to be a ghost than the guy who stands in the killer's face.

  • Doc Main here

Leave my boy alone. He doesn't need to be buffed.

  • The "Spread out the pain" vision of Legion would be fine if they didn't have so many restrictions on how Deep Wounds works.

Having it not tick down during a chase is reasonable.

Having it pause while mending is reasonable.

Having it pause for any other reason is NOT REASONABLE.

It's not even flipping the tables for 3 minutes; it's flipping the tables after almost 3 minutes. During those 3 minutes, survivors still have the upper hand - one of the exits is powered and open.

True - but at least the hatch standoff is gone now.

  • So the entire game, the killer is under time pressure - but it's not okay for the tables to be flipped for 3 minutes?

This is actually the change I was waiting for to come back to the game. I may actually start streaming it again.

  • Yet all I see from survivors in this forum is a bunch of bait threads.

    Kinda like this one.

    Funny how that works.

    This community.... FFS.

It's my understanding that as long as it's not a case where he afk's for 20 minutes and never comes back till you all disconnect, then it's bannable. But the fact that he was just using NOED in a rather simplistic but effective matter means he never intended to delay the game - only use his perk.

If that's bannable, then it's bannable for survivors to run around the map another 10 minutes in front of the exit instead of leaving.

    Just saying.

How are you guys so blind to bad killer tactics?

A survivor can't do anything to a body blocking killer, a killer can force survivors out of the gate. You guys really do only see one side it's ridiculous.

Because it's coming from you, Senzu.

You can't see anything except the bias up your own ass. So most of us have written you off as irrelevant a long ass time ago.

  • Yah know, I wouldn't mind giving up NOED if it meant DS didn't exist. Seems like a fair trade to me.

  • As one who prefers killer, I do not believe this buff to be fair or necessary.

So that's a big fat no from me.

  • And for all the buffs we killers took, we also took a ton of nerfs.

Those who remember the old forums probably remember this epic thread.

    https://steamcommunity.com/app/381210/discussions/0/1621724915795099897/

And I've said it before, and I'll say it again - most of us aren't looking to 4k all the time. We just want the killer game to feel less frustrating. Most of us don't mind losing when we're clearly outplayed - we just hated losing because of how easy it was to get our time wasted.

Game is indeed in better shape than it was int he begining though, I will grant you that.

I cannot comment on how it is now because I quit the game two months ago as I felt the communities toxicity creeping into my attitude. However, I hope to come back.

But everytime I even THINK about coming back, I run into this crap.

This isn't about us and them and "people wanting to 4ks all the time". We just want the game to feel fair. And to those of us who played both sides (myself included), it never feels close to fair most of the time - survivors held all the cards when it came down to time management.

  • It's cute that he thinks the easy time killers have in the lower ranks in indicative of the game's balance as a whole.

  • I weep for the future of gaming if people find the challenge of facing NOED toxic.

  • @Doccy said:
These kinds of unwritten rules need to die on both sides. Do whatever you want and what helps you win as long as it's not bannable.

Somebody give this guy a cookie, he gets it.

    No quarter asked, none given.

The real scrubs are the ones who live by the unwritten rules then get mad when the next doesn't follow them.

  • because the fact the killer cues are so long has nothing to do with a new killer being out and everybody trying him, amiright?

  • Not the hitbox itself, but a combination of the killer's camera mechanics and the nature of his Hit Detection cone.

Both the area that the killer sees and the area he can hit is shaped like a cone that radiates out from him. That means the further you are away from him, the larger his hit detection area (not to mention it's easier for him to keep you in his view the farther you are from him in his immediate area)

But staying close, you are essentially trying to make it harder for him to both track you as well as making the cone in which he hits you slightly smaller. your actual hitbox is unchanged, only his hit detection zone does.

  • The hit capsules are already plenty large.
How the "aim assist" works in this game - there's a hit detection cone when you fire your attack. If the survivor hit-capsule is in the cone - you've connected and the animation engine takes over and adjusts your position to make things look nice and clean.

I'm bringing this up because unfortunately, you might be seeing things get worse before they're getting better. They're talking about shortening that cone (but making the lunge longer) in order to deal with dicey hits across windows.

Unfortunately, they seem adverse to balancing console separately from PC. And frankly, I think that's a mistake.

Until they give in and recognize that console might need a different set of rules, things are just gonna get worse for console.

Their main focus on Console right now seems to be optimizing the game - but it's been a long and ongoing process. I can only hope that this fixes things for you, my console cousins.

  • First game as killer in the event.

First 1/3'd of a vial was easy enough. But both hooks were on the same side of the map. And crazy enough, these hooks only work for one use. You can't reuse them

Down a 3rd person... the remaining 2 hooks in the game are on the other side of the map.... well ######### me. Normal hook it is then...

Thankfully I was able to herd them to the last 2 hooks.

I dunno man - seems to even out to me. Especially given we got a bunch of Killvivors cluttering up the cue times for us.

Only thing we go the advantage on right now is the point generation - and it could be argued that's fair given we have no way at all to keep our addins between rounds other than the odd Black Ward.

  • In my experience? The mains I see generally are like this

Claudette - enough said. especially when P3. They are out to make your life miserable 90 percent of the time.

Dwight - All of them are cocky. Half the time they're just clowning around and are entertaining to toy with. Other half of the time they are terrors to deal with. I can't help but love that goofy guy though.

Meg - Most of them are Toxic little snots that need to be whipped. Which pisses me off, I usually have a thing for red heads. But screw Meg, I'm so done with her.

Jake - Used to be so hated. He kinda fell out of favor and now most people who play him are kinda nuetral. But I guess with the sabo buffs, we might see the old sabo-jakes come back. (And I guarantee his already dubious status of being the most sacrificed will skyrocket)

Nea - Good luck finding this girl. 4/5ths of the time people playing her are stealth players and you'll be lucky to spot them at all in the match. The remaining 1/5th get all up in your grill and try to bully you. I respect most Nea mains. (She's my secondary survivor, so I might be a little biased)

Ming - Can't say I see many toxic Mings. In fact, it's rare I run into one that actually plays well. Only thing that really stands out to me is how she squeals like a chew toy that's been stepped on when you hook her.

Bill and David - tend to lump these two together because they both seem to attract the same types; those who want to play hero. Not necessarily bully you, but I've noticed they're more likely to try and help their teammates. I usually end up with a grudging respect for Bill and David mains; even when they've ruined my day.

Laurie - Screw this girl. Every Laurie I run into annoys the crap out of me with their toxic bs. Her and that damn Abusive Strike perk.

Ace - My main man. It's rare I run into an Ace who doesn't play the game properly. And most of them aren't out to bully you. They just do what needs to be done - nothing more or less. A Majority of them don't seem to be toxic. But I'll admit, I might be biased because that's my survivor of choice.

Quinton, Tapp, Kate, and Adam - haven't really noticed a trend with any of them yet. Hell, you rarely even see Quinton to start with.

  • I think they went with the hook mechanic in the end because they felt the killer already had enough to do.

But I'm also with certain parts of this community that are theorizing this event is also doubling as an "optional objective" experiment for the survivors.

  • You know what I did last event? I just played my usual try-hard self.

Still got Kate's shirt.... oh goodie.......

  • By the way, if you're letting a game get to you outside a game, then you should put the game down - it's that simple.

That's what I did the past month - And now that I've had my break and feel I can separate the two (And I have another nice and cheerful game to cleanse my mind between dips into the toxic pool that is this community), I'm back - and I'm ready to ruthlessly destroy anybody who expects me to just let them farm. If you don't like that, I suggest you try and stop me.

I hate to break it to you, but this thread isn't your safe space where you can tell me to leave if you don't like it. You posted your opinion - and I'm offering a rather candid opinion as to why it sucks.

This is at it's core a PvP game. The event added new goals that your adversary can exploit. I suggest you toughen up and deal with it.

Adversary's blocking each other from their goals in a PvP game! The absolute horror of it all!

This is different. Its not preventing you from winning. Some people will go out of their way to be toxic about it like facecamping the plants or sandbag the hook (the ones who have DS)

  • This entire game has always been a moral lesson on how Greed is ultimately your downfall.

It's just been made even more obvious by this event.

  • Which means you get a free escape since they aren't guarding a gen.

@kisfenkin It's different because previously the events were free, and 100% of the content was unlockable. This time, 14% is unlockable and the rest is behind a paywall. Yes, there's more content overall, and 3 pieces is nice, but it feels like less.

But there's considerably MORE content this time. In every previous event, we had one item or complete skin at the most for survivors and killer's each. And quite frankly, I don't think any of the past event skins had this much effort thrown into them.

We're still getting the same amount in quantity we did before - a full skin for each side, except this time we get a choice of which skin we want. I have a Kate skin from the summer bbq... doesn't do me a bit of good, I don't play the stupid bimbo.

  • You guys are so fixated on how the killer screws you, you're blind to how much more the survivor disconnecting screws you.....

Frankly the penalties for EVERYBODY disconnecting needs to be much harsher. On that, I can get behind 100%

  • This community is broken on a fundamental level. Toxicity has been tolerated for too long by the powers that be.

I'd probably have 2k hours into this game by now if I didn't have to take frequent breaks to scrub my brain of the toxic mindset this community puts me in every time I spend to much time immersed in it.

  • Um... I usually have more than ample time to take sips of my tasty adult beverage. If anything, I'm usually hitting the bottom before I know it and having to get up and get another while I'm in the lobby cue.

Next thing I know, I'm so numb I can't play the mind games right and I'm missing easy grabs and swings.

But I'm not the one with the drinking problem here [hic]

  • Speak for yourself. I'm reinstalling this game for this event and likely will be streaming it again.

But then again, I don't get bent out of shape what I get for free and what I don't. This game is my most played game on my Steam list right now - they've more than earned my money.

But I'm also an adult, which is why I'm allowed to by alcohol.... mmm, alcohol.....

Don't act like the killer disconnecting is a bigger deal for even a moment.

Killer DC nukes the entire match of four people, four peoples offerings and the time spent waiting in a lobby is for nothing.

Survivor DCs - everyone still gets to earn points and some survivors might even escape.

yea ok buddy, killer dcing is definitely more preferred.

As a survivor, I'd rather a killer Ragequit and let me cash in the points I got rather than dealing with being a man short for the rest of the game. Thus, that's my mindset.

Killer who quits screws himself more in the end because he wasted his offering, all his points, and loses 3 pips. Survivors still get to keep their points, don't lose rank, and get a new game right away.

Survivors leaving screws their remaining teammates of a competitive game. Every moment a survivor is alive is a moment the killer has to worry about their hands on a generator. every person not in the game is pressure off the killer. They screw their team more than a killer ragequitting.

So objectively - yes, it's worse for everybody involved when a survivor quits. Only person who really benefits from it is the killer who gets free points and less hands on generators.

That isn't what's happening and you don't get it. Killers have found a way to dc where the survivors lose their items, get 0 bp and lose 2 pips(sometimes). Objectively it IS NOT worse when a survivor quits because 0 bp and lost item vs 600 bp and you can still get the other 3.

Well, good luck getting that fixed, because survivors still have a way to disconnect from the game without losing their item and leaving a duplicate in the game. XD

The Anti-camp mechanic is actually not that bad. 16 meters is nothing - and you don't get penalized if your in a chase or survivors are nearby

Seems fine to me. Gives room to secure a kill at the end if you want to.

Right so it hasn't stopped Nurses and BIllies from camping just outside because that's what they do. Oh wait it hasn't even stopped anyone because people are still sitting there smashing you in the face while you're on your first hook as the first person hooked.

Give a blood point reduction on screen that flashes while camping because most people who camp don't read patch notes. Similar to unsafe hook rescue not giving points.

Unsafe rescues need to be punished harder IMO. If it had been me, I would of made it 500 points of the unhook, then 1000 points bonus once it was considered "Safe", not the other way around.

As for a bloodpoint reduction for camping, no thanks. The reduction in the chase emblem is bigger than you think. Killer should always have the option to remove somebody from the game if they absolutely have to. Either for tactical reasons or to send a message.
