It gives me fairer matches yea but I get my gens pressured really hard more often so it does get really frustrating, luckily not relying on info perks and replacing what would be BBQ with No Way Out has been extremely nice for attaining the 3k
-
It's hard to pick between my Legion build and my Survivor build so I'll do both
Bamboozle, Ruin, Pop and No Way Out, extremely solid build that started off as Tatariu's with Thrilling in place of BBQ that I've began to optimize for my own enjoyment and playstyle
And then Small Game, Iron Will, Calm Spirit and Urban Evasion, makes survivor really fun by giving myself the secondary objective of breaking all 5 totems, though I may replace Urban with Boon: Shadowstep because it still gives the stealth effect but lets me sprint and not need to hide in lockers, yea, it's an immersed build but playing DBD as a proper horror game can be some simple fun, lets me relax too

Considering valves VERY anti-NFT stance, i have a strong feeling they'll have some beef with BHVR and potentially attempt to excise bill from the game. Would not surprise me.
I hope that's what happens, it'd knock some morals back into the devs

Just for the record, as far as I can tell the dev team isn’t at fault with the NFT stuff here. Actually I think i saw on Twitter that some just got informed about it with that tweet just like us.

Be mad at BHVR all you want, but I just can't be fully upset for some reason. It's just business being business and it's definitely unfortunate, but it's not enough to knock me off the game, I'm def gonna not buy the new survivor or barely any of the event cosmetics just so I can chip in my part to the backlash, but man is this a very grey area type situation. Just wish they didn't take the money, but who knows how much money was at stake there, been the first time I really didn't know what to think of the devs.

Yeah, Legion with BBP, Ruin, Pop and Surge works. But it's kinda boring each game, where I can't really use my power for multiple hits anyway.
I like that with Blight and Oni I don't really have to focus on 3-gen and can just play normally and still have chance for multiple kills.
Yea, those two also benifit massively from endgame perks because their snowball is so violent that once all the possible adrenline plays are gone and their perks are either figured out or gone, the mobility and chase they offer just shows why they're top of the list
-
SBMM doesn't need to be removed, rather improved. The system needs to try to find a way to account for chases and overall performance. The easiest change here being what amount of hooks you get, this would be a much better margin of skill compared to straight up kills, anybody can get a 1k, just facecamp and someone at some point, will die. The chase part would take more programming to make but, it needs to account for Length between hits and Resources Used, if the game tried to gauge how well you could go without dropping a pallet, it'd put survivors against what they equal to and would let the worse off killers get the break they need. This would also benifit survivor's teammates in solo q since it'd put them with equally as good loopers, so then you'd have more time to do what you need to do with reliable teammates.

I do the same. I used to be a Freddy and Myers Main (Freddy mainly) and was never as impacted by the nerf some time ago, since I used pallets since the beginning. I could hold my red ranks with balanced, some hard or ez matches without using busted addons or full meta perks (I had a weird BBQ, Pop, Opression, Surveillance combo with the brown pallet addon). Now with MMR (and possible high rating from before) I have to sweat so much that I had to use the boring Ruin/undying /tinkerer meta with strong addons to give me some air. I know how to build pressure, that's not the problem. I just noticed that Freddy lost a lot of his power during the last 2 years. (Otzdarva's recent killer tier list proves that for me). Same for Myers. Myers hasn't been a stron killer for a long time now. I never expected much, but I had decent matches with him. Now with MMR, I really feel his bad early game and stalking mechanic vs good teams.
I switched to Spirit and Pinhead now. I wonder how long it will take until I get bored of the sweatyness with these too.

Yeah, I used to be Legion and Deathslinger main.
Well, Blight and Oni now...
I'm a Legion/Doc main but I'm probably gonna have to switch to Nemi/Blight/Oni just to keep up at this rate. The game is just too unfun tryna be a Legion with No Way Out and Blood Warden as my only objective perks and I'm probably just gonna be either a Ruin/Pop Legion and Doc or just switch my mains because dear god I'd have to reverse boost to enjoy this game. I'm so sick of running gen perks and now that MMR's here, I'm on a highway to getting sick of the game
-
@landromat said:
Im just trying to play for 8 hooks and let everyone escape. I don't like high mmr on both sides
High MMR is so bad to the point I've began to switch my mains, if I need to change what killer I enjoy just because I'm helpless, that's a bit ridiculous

All exhaustion perks all have a 40s timer
But I feel like with No Mither it wouldn't be so bad to have a 20s timer because you're injured all the time, it's like equaling a health state to 20s of Exhaustion, it's just to balance for the fact you're injured forever
-
Downtown Savannah Georgia, extremely nice place with tons of different cultured restaurants, went there today and had some greek food
-
Luck of the Draw matches add way more fun and intrigue to matches. I used to enjoy trying to gauge a survivor's skill level, seeing what I could get away with and what they'd catch on to, matches were way more fun before MMR not because of being able to stomp, but because of those outlier survivors that would equal you more than any of the others. MMR's just made the game comically predictable and it's even just made it straight up boring, I'm probably gonna end up reverse boosting because I can't even enjoy matches half, it's survivors splitting up all the time always on gens and never doing random stuff like opening a chest or cleansing a dull if they're low on Boldness points, it's just gens or chases anymore, or complete stomps where survivors just fall apart and chases don't even really happen, really unfun and really predictable
-
This used to be the issue with The Twins when they got dropped on the PTB, I still don't understand why they didn't try to prevent this for Pinhead, I question these devs sometimes but this isn't even questionable, it's just outright dumb
-
I think gates wouldn't hurt from taking 25 seconds, it's a simple change that wouldn't be so bad imo and it would help with the 99'ing situation as it can give the killer enough time to get the down or just do what they need to do if they just need a bit more time
-
Nemi out of all of these people is my favorite for both sides. Playing as Nemi is extremely fun, trying to get tentacle hits and trying to figure out where a survivor's going is a really fun push and pull fight for the chase and lets me get hits I never would've gotten without it. And as survivor it's the same but reverse, trying to juke out the hit and force him to become an M1 killer (If they aren't being boring about it and doing that anyway), Nemi's great imo

Ah, yes. This one too is good. Looking forward to the day when Legion gets a chase theme.

I'm excited for both, the skins will be guaranteed fire so I'm def gonna buy the tome, they never miss with Trickster cosmetics, I've also been running out of tome challenges so it'll be nice to have some again

Indeed, the music in DbD is top-notch, and they don't get nearly enough praise for the incredible compositions that perfectly capture the stress and intense emotions that come with the "cat and mouse" gameplay. Appropriately, the music also has a fairly simplistic, yet highly catchy, beat, mirroring the nature of DbD itself (a simple game at its core that evokes powerful, complex emotions in everyone who plays it and can be addictive to play).
The chases that personally get me excited from music alone are the ones with Doctor and Blight. With Doc, the music perfectly expresses that Doctor is here to spread the madness he loves to study to the point that his chase music barely even represents music, just sounds that come together to make what sounds like it, as a killer you feel like you genuinely are him, that you'll play with them and thier minds just to kill them eventually, that and it's just a really interesting piece of music that gets me excited. As Blight, you literally feel like you are the end itself, the music is so dramatic and tragic that as a killer you're as lethal as you are fast, and that survivors will all fall no matter what, that and it's just extremely cool since DBD rarely uses orchestral instruments in the way Blight does, and he does it beautifully.
-
Probably my favorite killer outfit besides my Doctor outfit, the hair and the coat in this mix so damn well with the red as the complimentary color
-
@ThiccBudhha said:
My biggest complaint about the music is that there is not more of it, I wish every killer had unique themes and chase music. I love the music in this game so much.
Same right here, I hope they take a chapter off someday and just give every default music killer their own unique set of music and let that be the chapter for that quarter of the year, the concept of DBD itself sets up for amazing music ideas

How hard was Legion in your opinion?

Non-Meta Perk Blights are the coolest, any Blight is cool but the non-meta ones are a blast to have a game with, because they usually rush around like madmen and stay really unpredictable, adds tension

As survivor I'd def run Botany, I just love super-healing people, my current build lets me heal slugged survivors in the EGC at 250% if I unhooked recently, I'd love to see it hit 283%

Legion
Fuming Mix Tape
Dark beats, violent shreds and unfathomable vocals from another world fill the mind with a vibrating sixth sense.
Upon inflicting Deep Wound within Feral Frenzy, you gain an extra 5% movement speed, up to 30% while in Feral Frenzy. When entering the fatigue state, lose 10% of your current speed increase. When Feral Frenzy recharges, the most recently mended survivor is highlighted by Killer Instinct for 5 seconds.
(The addon is basically reworked to really lock the survivors into the injured state and to allow more mobility in Frenzy, along with giving Legion some soft intel on where they can get the chain going again. The fatigue thing is there just to make sure that Legion isn't zooming around all the time and actually has to work for the speed boost.)
-
Bubba, he's annoying because he's the most boring killer to go up against, at least in my opinion
-
They also need to get rid of those out-in-the-open spawns, like on MacMillan where they just spawn next to a tree in the middle of nowhere
-
If they get to 2nd stage I usually expand how far I patrol from the hook or just straight up leave, if they didn't save for those 60 seconds then they've prob been on gens/totems

Uhh… so you make a thread about a perk then basically say it’s not the perk that’s the problem, but either the killer himself or your teammates?
Idk I've just a really bad streak of games and even with me going into matches not expecting to survive and just going in with the mindset of enjoying the matches I just keep getting horrible games

There's been some speculation that they'll section the map into different variants like Badham, where they'll have the different floors as different maps, or that they'll slice it in half. I hope they go for the idea that they have the different floors but both variants can get into the main lobby, but depending on the variant the other floor's entry points are blocked off
-
It's a really hard pick betwen Myers and Ghostie but since I'm biased I'm picking Ghostie. Both are stealthy in their own unique ways, Myers has a comically small TR along with the ability to stalk from far away and get right up in your face and pop his 99'd Tier 3 and down you in like 3 seconds, but Ghostie can be looking at you for just a couple seconds, but by the time you spot him, you're either exposed or he's moving right toward you to finish that 99. Myers loses all of his stealth once he hits T3, while Ghostie loses his stealth if he fails to maintain his anonimity, Myers loses it for at minimum a full minute while being able to one shot, while Ghostie (after the new chapter comes out) loses his for at minimum 24 seconds.
TLDR; Myers is stealthier but explodes out of it, Ghostie is less so but is stealthy way more often. Myers one shots everyone, while Ghostie targets singular victims, both get the job done either way
-
Anytime The Legion sees someone off in the distance or sees an aura, they do something with their knife (Play with it, rub the blade, something like that depending on which member you are) and when they get into chase with one of the police characters they mock the police siren, just have Legion do edgy teen stuff or impatient murderer stuff

Yeah, they're fair points. I was just thinking about a fairly small additional objective that acts more as a switch to make the gens accessible in the beginning. It probably wouldn't add much at all, but the few extra seconds finding those emblems would just slow the game slightly at the start. I'm not looking for a big slowdown - just something that adds a few seconds at the beginning to balance things. Plus, another survivor objective would make the game a little more interesting.
Another objective would go a long way, a reason I've started to play survivor is because I found out I just like doing stuff that's really dumb and risky rather than hold m1 at the same spot for 80 seconds, maybe it doesn't have to be a mainly early game thing, they could do a small secondary objective that would be required for escape so that survivors who don't mind gens can keep on while people who do mind can do that
-
Indoor maps give a unique twist on the looping situation, I really like them (Besides Midwich, burn in hell Midwhich)
-
@DwightFairfield said:
I think beginning game slowdown wouldn't fix anything, the issue is apparent with Corrupt Intervention.
Gens being blocked doesn't stop gens from being done
A) The killer can't patrol all 4 gens because they're too spread out/killer can't patrol gens
or B) The survivors wait out the period, breaking totems, searching chests, or unhooking each other if the killer gets lucky.
Survivors don't need a penalty to start, killers need a buff to make all of them viable at patrolling generators. Most killers are so chase-centric that regardless of how long of a head start they get, they're not going to stop gen progress, quickly shut down chases, and get hooks within that timeframe.
Another issue with corrupt is that if anything it promotes gen rushing due to the fact that it creates the feeling of pressure right at the start, so survivors immediately spread out on the gens they can

Than don't try so hard, and you will go against players that have different perks. Why tryhards complain about other tryhards?
I don't try hard, I just play normally and survivors ruin that experience

@HectorBrando said:
Your reward for improving is you get to play against better players which in turn are harder challenges, if you get better you get to play with even tougher people. Games are fun as long as they keep being a bit challenging, curbstomping all your matches is fun for a while but it becomes boring fast after a while, same as getting demolished over and over.
Its the only kind of reward this game (or any game at all) can offer since most players will never ever be able to get to the big reward, becoming a profesional who gets paid for playing a game/sport.
But going against better players means you go against the same perks over and over, perks that waste loads of your time and make matches boring and infuriating, DBD doesn't reward you for getting better anymore, not with SBMM in here, the game's as boring as it'll ever get
