  • Was in a game with my friend, we had a Jeff and claudette.

The Jeff was purple rank and the claudette was red.

The claudette urban evaded and focused heavily on finding totems (maybe had a challenge idk)

The Jeff was trying to be bait to the killer.

Shortly later the claudette was tunneled and deadified, the Jeff got hooked but we saved him, and immediately after my friend went down.

After I healed Jeff he ran to the basement and started running in circles so I assumed he wanted me to die so he could gallop to the hatch.

So I saved my friend and we both sprinted to the basement leading the killer there.

He downed the Jeff and we both escaped while he struggled in the basement.

IF THERE ARE 3 PEOPLE ALIVE IN A MATCH DO NOT WAIT FOR THE OTHER TWO TO DIE JUST BECAUSE YOU WANT TO ESCAPE BE A SUPPORTIVE TEAMATE

But we all should agree that it would be fair to complain about killers and survivors equally :)

    The killer tunnels/camps/slugs

The survivors gen rush and play in SWF

Both complains have the same answer: so?

    Both sides doing the objective.

    Survivors gen rush:

Thats what they have to do? sure they can get saves and heal, but the goal for survivors is to escape.

    The killer tunnels/camps/slugs:

so... he kills? what is he supposed to do?

I know whats the problem here:

If one side plays "fair" and the other side doesnt the side who plays fair loses.

We have killers without noed, mori, strong add ons get gen rushed by SWF teams with 4 DS BT adrenaline etc

These killers will lose this round if the survivors dont make huge mistakes.

We have also Survivors that play waker perks for diversity who get tunneled off hook to be moried and if they finish the gens get hit by noed.

But you know what? Its on you to use strong weapons.

if you wanna be weak dont complain about the other side using strong weapons.

you know whats a fair game?

An Iri head huntress with noed and Mori vs 4 SWF players who know the game as well as the killer and have meta perks.

This is fair guys, because both sides have OP stuff.

So maybe, just maybe its not the killers fault using noed and its not the survivors fault using all the crutches they have.

Maybe its the games fault Over powered Items add ons and perks exist.

Maybe its not "the killers" and "the survivors"

dont play fair at red ranks. the other side wont play fair either.

Two times unfair equals fair ;)

Agreed, but salty players will be salty and toxicity never fades

As of recently it's impossible to get into steam profiles in endgame chat via just clicking on players name. You can generally get steam profile link only in lobby before the game starts.

But there is another way to get profiles even after the match ends.

Here's what you need to do, it's very simple.

    https://us.v-cdn.net/6030815/uploads/BJGSHVGAFU0U/ht1.png

You click on the setting buttom in the bottom left corner.

    https://us.v-cdn.net/6030815/uploads/NV1JZXXG9K8M/ht2.png

Then in the top you click on match details and afterwards on name of the player your need steam profile of.

    https://us.v-cdn.net/6030815/uploads/BLI84ULJ01FS/h1-sc.png

When you're on their profile steam ID should be right there where I left the arrow in the top.

I've met a hacker recently so I starte digging on how to get their profile after the match so that I can report them and found this to be the only way I could think of.

Hope it helps anyone who met hackers and couldn't get their ID for the report.

Smart, especially how they've removed the ability to select a person in the endgame results.

About 6 months after I started playing the game I realized the frustration was mostly to being outplayed and I forced myself to begin complimenting a survivor on their plays if they "got" me.

    "nice flash saves Claudette"

    "Nice deadhard Jake"

then I pl;ayed more, got better and hardly ever get deadharded, try complimenting other players even though you got outplayed and your brain will change the negative from a positive. Worked for me.

    Very true.

Often I feel sympathy for survivors having a hard time and will often ignore them or purposely go for someone else. If I find that someone's on death hook before anyone else then I'll just slug and hope he gets saved to prolong his time in game.

And yes I deeply agree that compliments and positive thinking towards being outplayed or countered in smart ways can make you feel better about what's been done.

If I get DS'd and he runs out of the exit gate then I just say gg nice DS.

3 ######### gens in less than 70 seconds. aint playing killer for a while, even trying to 3 gen. THAT ######### IS SO ######### FAST, there isn't anything to do.

You could try playing but worry less about kills and more about the fun of chasing someone.

I know it's not the same for everyone but the chase truly is the most fun part.

Don't tunnel though because the game needs to be fun for everyone trying

It's better to have good sportsmanship as a killer than go into a game expecting a 4k only to be met with swf who know youre only in it for the kills.

Six hours is insane. You'd have to be dc'ing quite frequently to rack up that. So if you are legitimate in what you're saying about rarely dc'ing then its either a bug or someone is using your account without your consent.

You see I would definitely say someone uses my account except for that I'm signed in from 5:am to midnight everyday (the corona virus had me "let go from my job") so the fact that literally all I do is play dbd wouldn't make sense or be possible for someone to be signing in.

And yes in order to get a 6 hour ban I would have to disconnect every single game everytime my penalty ended and the fact that I really only play this one game makes no sense for me to do that.

  • @Erk said:

If you ever played against me (you probably didn't) I am sorry for being toxic. I thought about my mistakes and realised that I kinda suck. I don't think I am a good killer. From now on, I will not try to win, I will try to get better. I hope I can be a decent player.

I realised that I always saw the game or the survivors at fault, I never thought about me being bad. If I won, it was because I was good but if I lost, it was because survivor perks are too op/the game was unbalanced. I saw the error in my thinking and I will try to correct myself.

So, why am I writing this thread ? Well, if you think that you are never at fault and its always the games fault, please, don't think that way. I thought that way for a long time and the game just didn't feel fun because it was always about winning. It's not. If you try to have fun instead of being competitive, you'll have way more fun, believe me.

    True in all statements.

I agree the game is more fun when you care less about winning and more about enjoying yourself.

I was watching a small time streamer who said the chase is the most fun part of being a killer and that they didn't care about going for kills as he didn't judge winning based off of kills but rather how much fun he had chasing people and getting to see their skills at looping.

Idk I agree with you that people consider themselves perfect with all else being at falt

I do not disconnect from games EVER

I haven't disconnected for a long time and when I do it's usually because of the storms in my area.

You need to calm down and analyze how often you actually have disconnected. My guess is, you disconnect a lot more than you think. Also, I would avoid playing when there are storms if they shut off the power like that. That can damage electronic equipment like your PC - I once had to throw out an entire extension cord because it fried when the power went out. Thankfully it had a surge protector, but I shudder to think what could've happened if it didn't.

I play this game day in and day out since I bought it because my nefew said it was good.

    This games great.

    But this is weird.

Luckily I play on console and can just switch account to avoid a banhammer but jeez.

Is there a way I can get this checked out?

    Like a helpline for dbd?

  • @Aven_Fallen said:

You wont get a 6 hour Ban for Disconnecting once. You have DCed way more often to get such a huge ban.

Not true, I haven't disconnected. I just restarted my console hoping it's a glitch maybe.

Nope not a glitch it literally banned me 6 hours for disconnecting once

  • I feel it and so does at least 50% of the community.

It's like the whole thing with killers "banding together to tunnel Lisa players"

They tunnel for a reason, not to be horrible killer but to try to bring attention to the devs that Lisa is overpriced and people should not buy it until they fix the price to something realistic

  • @GHOSTfaceP3 said:

Seriously why do they release such ######### challenges ??

    To encourage depiping on purpose.

If you depip then you will definitely have an easier time getting challenges done, after that you can grind back up to any rank you were at.

Throw matches or play afk wraith.

They use this strategy in clash of clans and other games that make challenges which can be easy at a low rank and impossible at a high rank.

It’s balanced when you consider that you can experience slow down ‘forever’ builds coming from the opposite side.

    Example:

    Thana/Blood Echo/Ruin/Sloppy Butcher.

Its a matter of RNG and skill at that point. Why RNG? Because you might encounter the other side brought something to counter it. Plus if they are actually good at killer, you being one shot away from a down could put the team at a huge disadvantage.

Don't forget I'm a swf player. I run with with a 4man group who's online Everytime I am. We can coordinate games and yes, we have someone who plays bait and their very good at it. And yes thana is lame but going against legion or bubba or plague or ghost face when your exposed or even myers in tier 3.

So in a coordinated swf team it's broken

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/1382479#Comment_1382479

That's not how the math works

Using proove thyself changes the gen from taking 44 seconds with 2 people to taking 40 seconds. All proove thyself does is remove the penalty you get normally. Adding your 9%, it means 2 people together do the gen in 36.7 seconds.

Alone, you do the gen in 73.39 seconds. About 6.6 seconds faster. Not 17 seconds. Even with proove thyself activated (meaning someone is around you not doing anything) it takes 64.52 seconds. About 15.5 seconds faster.

Edit: I would like to point out, no mither is not gen related in anyway.

The part of your build that does anything with gens is proove thyself and resilience. Which can easily be run without it. Usually with spine chill for maximum gen times and vaulting speed.

So no, no mither is not a "broken gen rush perk"

Thank you for doing the math I felt something wasn't accurate about mine.

But you can still use Dead Hard if you 99 your heal, in fact you can heal when the killer approaches, loop until hit, speed boost, use Dead Hard, then take another hit before going down. And you can use a better perk than No Mither, like literally any other survivor perk. With NM you’ll also never be left if the killer sees you since you’re an easy target, and you can’t take hits to protect your team.

I just don’t see how NM is a good perk in any way, shape or form, let alone “broken”.

In a chase it's a bad perk yes, I'm talking about using it for it's generator rushing capabilities or more rather the combo that can come from these perks in early game, yes Its harder to lose a chase but with some practice and ignoring crutch perks it's a great perk.

Allot of the killers perks are late game so the less hooks early game the better and if you get 2 gens for every 1 hook it's an easy escape

  • @xenotimebong said:

It makes you permanently one shot so no, I don’t agree that it’s broken. You could do the same thing by 99%ing your heal with a medkit and run a better perk instead.

Your not one hit with dead hard though the downside is not gaining a speed boost but that only delays the chase a matter of seconds

  • @Deadeye said:

Why is No Mither the god tier perk? Run Selfcare instead or a medkit to 99 yourself to extend chases even more. It would be god tier when you regularly can use the self recovery, but that just happens against rather dumb killers because the broken status shows you that this person should not be slugged.

The gen rush part on this one is Resilience And Prove Thyself, and PT gives you and your mates the way higher bonus than Resilience

    Yes but no.

When I use these perks I do gens at 109% repair speed.

When I use them with a teammate on a gen I do 124% plus their 115% meaning we're doing 239% (or just 39%) generator repair speed

This means that we can do a generator 37 seconds faster

If I'm alone I can do the generator 17 seconds faster

If I wait to do what you are saying "get injured then keep myself at 99 to stay enjured" I run the risk of someone trying to heal me which distracts them, I don't get the headstart of beginning the match with such stat bonuses along with the fact that I could be hooked before even getting my bonus (e.g bubba win which I'm downed and hooked instantly)

1:pm to 6:pm matchmaking can be really fast or pretty moderate

However if you do not play with a friend then do this.

Find a generator that has multiple escape routes with lots of cover, if you get injured then get healed.

Now, I'm gonna start off here and say I play Survivor Religiously, But I actually enjoy the challenges that are faced within the trials., However, I've been noticing a tactic thanks to Monto and some other DBDL Youtubers that have had meta's spread for awhile and it's come to my attention Torment needs to be re-adjusted.

Torment is only removed when sent to a cage of atonement or if you free someone from a cage of atonement, however recently I've been seeing ALOT of pyramid heads torment people, and just save the torment for a mori, The reason there can be an issue with this is the last-hook counterplay is gone, the extra seconds of hooking that last survivor is gone, and that means once you get torment you're screwed. because they can pick you up from a locker and drop you to instantly kill you. You have so much less time for this and the killer gets no downsides for doing this, He's still faster then you laying torment down, he has a long duration of putting torment trenches onto the ground. the trenches stay on the ground for so long. he essentially gets a free-mori most games if he just holds M2 when walking around, which is really dumb. Players should be awarded for skillful plays, not holding buttons down. (M1 Pyro mains incomming) There needs to be actual counter-ability to this. Whether it's removed whenever you get hooked, or after a timer it doesn't really matter. There needs to be another way to remove torment so Pyramid Head here can't get free mori's almost every game unless you're running urban evasion or wanna die quicker because oops trench everywhere.

It's not fun to play against really. trying your best to counter play and you get completely screwed over because the killer just has a free pass to stop a flashlight save, or to stop a pallet save. or sabotage attempt by a new person because they want to help, I don't play SWF, I personally don't think the game should be balanced around SWF. but when you give a brand new killer the ability to by-pass what could even be 10-30 seconds of extra time that could allow atleast one survivor to escape a trial, even if all of the survivors played extremely well. It really puts into light how much this guy has, Strong killers give challenge, but giving free mori's by just a passive ability really just makes this game less fun to go against this killer. This is like the Spirit bumping into injuried survivors senario. there's no counterplay, it's just "Oh you're injured, Die" this is "Oh you touched a trench, Die" There's no chance if they do this. and this change wouldn't even affect the main gameplay if people used the cages like the original intention. this would just stop people from being greedy with their torment trails. because after that there's no reason to put them down. it's just chase survivors, there's no active secondary objective. and with his ranged attack ontop of that this guy needs Something to give.

I post this in good faith and with maturity, I'm not here to argue with people in the comments. I know this community has a MAJOR problem with being toxic towards another side. and that the dev's don't even listen to the people who play both killer and survivor. I want this game to be fun for both sides and challenging, but I don't want the concept of instantly giving things away. I was supportive of the DS rework, giving it an actual functional use, I like the concept that meta perks are being reworked to be counter-playable and more fair then they used to be.

I'm impressed with the depth of this post.

I agree the trenches last too long and have no counter

The torment should never have been left like this with no way to remove it

Imagine playing against a plague of which you could not cleanse, it would be extremely one sided.

I play killer and survivor 50/50 and I know that the trench gimmic is an awful idea that should have not been pushed into the game so underdeveloped

  • @konchok said:

You guide your victims along a path of pain and punishment.

After kicking a Generator, you call upon the Entity to block the Generator for 30 seconds, the affected Generator will be revealed to all Survivors by a white Aura. after the generator becomes unblocked you become undetectable for 15 seconds.

Trail of Torment can only be triggered once every 70/60/50 seconds.

    ------

The way this works is that it mimics repressed alliance. In fact its almost the same, but there are tell tales for the aware survivor. The generator will have sparks when viewed from nearby. It also protects the gen from getting completed while do something else for 30 seconds and once it becomes unblocked you'll be undetectable. Giving you 30 seconds to position yourself to really get those jump scares.

This is much better than the original perk, obviously the perk how it is now is a handicap not really something you can take advantage of as the killer.

    I approve of this idea

Huntress Lullaby for me is very annoying, the actress they got to sing it to me doesn't sound that great and hearing it over and over in matches have almost driven me to quit. It would be very nice if there was a way you could mute it in the options so people who didn't like it didn't have to hear it. I know it is a design that can help you know she is coming but i would rather just look around me.. Im not trying to be mean to the singer who did this but would really love the option to turn it off in game.. Thanks

I think that is can be annoying but the upside is that it's equivalent to a terror radius except much bigger so you have a very long head start to begin changes positions on the map.

It's a killer weakness and the devs won't change weaknesses

  • @timbologna said:

Change for gens that will help both sides! If a survivor leaves the gen it automatically increases to 100%!

    That's how you sound.

    Timbologna is right.

The pressure of the exit gates is already powerfull enough and to me appears balanced, either the survivor could not get it to 100% in which case they fail the trial or they succeed in struggling to get it to 100% in which case they have earned the escape.

The exit gates powering themselves after achieving 50% power is a horrible idea.

Think of the type of survival this would entitle,

Survivors would get it to 50% and then hide until they opened themselves then escape.

I do not think the devs would appreciate a lazy playstyle such as this

  • For me when I see anti healing builds it consists of

    1- coulrophobia

(At T3 50% penalty to healing when inside terror radius)

    2- distressing

    (For the larger terror radius)

    3- thanatophobia

    (For the overall penaltys)

    4- sloppy butcher

    (For the healing penalty)

most people run these three all together for anti healing, and when you run these all together it really creates a problem for survivors and literally makes self heal useless in every way.

Where is Pyramid Head on your tier list?

After playing pyramid head and getting him to lvl 50 in the first hour of playing ( I play on xbox one) he's not half bad, I do feel he has little map pressure though and his cages need a rework as you can stand infront of the cage and 100% prevent the rescue.

Overall a great killer but for all he hype he still has some bugs.

  • @jadss said:

Well, some people say cages need to be nerfed or buffed, so, i've made this poll, vote what you think cages should be done to them:

Me and my 4manSWF group tested this and the cages are the same as old hooks, facecamping will stop any attempt to free a survivor as you can only free them from the direct front.

It's toxic and they need to be reworked or removed.

  • @mutante said:

Your fault. You should have killed yourself on hook to prevent the death of your teammates if you known that was impossible to save you.

    Killer main I presume?

  • @cenoflame said:

Just had a match where Leatherface literally face camped me with his chainsaw revved. Two of my teammates just ran around behind him thinking they could free me. They did and we were all immediately downed. Then he mori'd me. I get stuck with a lot of dummies, is my point. End rage post.

Edit: Rank 2 killer ended up mori'ing 3/4 of the team. Didn't even get 20k BP.

As a member of a daily 4 man SWF group, I can personally say it is a 100% chance of 3 escapes for 1 person being camped by any killer (usually bubba) and that playing without my team I see other survivors basically kill themselves trying to free me.

When I'm a solo survivor I use kindred and when I see a killer facecamping I just do gens, nothing can really be done however I do run borrowed time for killers I feel I can get the upper hand for a risky hook rescue.

  • It's especially hard when survivor mains are just as toxic as some killers. I play 50/50 both sides but I've been breaking from killer since everyone is so intense lately.

For me, the sound issues and the new map are the biggest factors in feeling frustrated.

I was so looking forward to just coming back and playing Killer, it's such a shame I'm just gonna have to stay away a while longer.

  • I really do want to play as nurse but I play on Xbox one and nurse is just so hard to play for me. It is too one sided that she is limited to 2 blinks at a time and she has THE MOST INTENSE PALLET STUN HIT BY A TREE SURVIVOR ESCAPES recoil in the game after teleporting. Decrease the stun please God nurse should not be stunned after teleporting since she's the slowest killer in the game.

Maybe I'm just bad though but having limited blinks, a massive stun after teleporting, being slower than survivors and glitchy weird teleporting mechanics makes her the hardest killer to play and the most irrelevant in comparison to hillbilly or spirit.
